• Kit (8/5): Everything was high end. The bed was the most comfortable ever. The staff were so lovely and helpful. Lots of niggles l - It’s a very special place. A work in progress but we loved it and can’t wait to return. Lots of things to finish but we had a great time. Nothing really.
• Neil (5/5): Disastrous stay - The resort has potential but it is still to be completed and under construction. Once you are inside the resort it has beautiful views. Staff needs serious customer service training. The front desk is located in a storage area as the building is still being constructed. The aircon is switched off with a timer at 9pm so do not stay here during the summer. Entire premises is of the grid so on cloudy days the resort impalements power saving methods which can be annoying. Outside shower that does not work properly. Hot water comes and goes and no water pressure. We arrived after 4pm but only checked after 6pm with electrician's working on a electricity issue in our tent until after 7pm. Check in was suppose to be 3pm. Very annoying. Could not use the splash pool due to electricity issues. You get your own golf cart to drive around as the area is massive. Tents are far away from each other. The path ways are dusty and sandy and very very bumpy so if you had any broken back or leg injuries in the pass, avoid this resort at all cost. The final stretch of road to get to the resort from the town is a gravel road that runs through a township which can make you feel uncomfortable. Dinner was ok but our order was delivered incorrect as the staff does not speak English well and makes you repeat yourself numerous times. Breakfast was delivered ice cold and below poor quality. We checked out prematurely and was refunded 1 night. All an all our experience for the 1 night we stayed was a disaster. I would return in 10 years time when the resort is completed and established. At this stage, do not expect to much from Yamu resort and there services they mentioned on bookings.com.

• Wolfgang (9/5): Eine Oase im Western Cape… - …einfach alles. Eine wunderbare Oase zum Entspannen und einfach den Tag zu genießen. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht und werden das nächste Mal sicherlich ein komplettes, langes Wochenende buchen um auch die Umgebung näher kennenzulernen. …alles war prima, es gibt nichts zu beanstanden… ;-)
• Daniel (7/5): Sehr schönes Resort. Service klappt (noch) nicht - Wunderschönes Resort. Ganz neu und sauber. Grosse Bungalows mit Pool. Gut ausgerüstet. Volle privacy. Grosse Terrasse. Tolle „Beach Bar“ Service ist noch sehr unbeholfen. Wir bestellten Wasser aufs Bungalow. Dauerte 2.5 Stunden. Infos bei Check-in ungenügend, was u.a. zur Folge hatte, dass wir nicht wussten, wo das Frühstück serviert wird. Cleaning kommt erst am Nachmittag. Abends geweckt für Roiboos Tee. Dies 2 mal, weil das „Do not disturb“ vom Wind runterfällt. Wir wollten beim Check out nach der zweiten Nacht sehr früh los. Konnten das inbegriffene (übrigens ganz ordentliche)Frühstück nicht nehmen und wollten ein Lunchpack oder ähnliches bestellen. Das hat nicht geklappt, obwohl die Inhaberin dies gewusst hat und uns an Servicepersonal verwies. Ganz ehrlich. Das klappt in jeder Alphütte und in jedem günstigen Guesthouse. Mit dem sogenannten „Soft opening“ kann man all die Servicemängel nicht entschuldigen. Soft opening müsste vorgängig kommuniziert sein. So fühlten wir uns wie unfreiwillige Versuchskaninchen. Das Management hat einiges zu tun. Hoffen, dass sie es hinkriegen. Das muss sofort klappen. Wir hatten trotzdem einen schönen Aufenhalt.

• Anna (8/5): - Währen unseres Aufenthaltes waren 7 tolle Zelt-Häuser aufgebaut. Sehr komfortabel ausgestattet mit wunderbarem Ausblick. Einiges ist noch im Entstehungsprozess. Alles ist sehr geschmackvoll und sorgfältig gestaltet.
• Evelien (6/5): Een geweldige plek met veel potentieel. Op dit moment vinden wij het geen aanrader. - De ligging is fantastisch aan het meer! De tenten zijn heel erg ruim en liggen ook heel erg mooi waardoor je enorm veel privacy hebt. Enorm groot terras met eigen ruime dompelbad, heel erg leuk! Goede en hele grote bedden. Mooie badkamer met buitendouche. Het hele complex heeft veel potentieel. Het personeel bij de beachbar en in de directe omgeving was zeer vriendelijk. De ontvangst voelde niet warm en het voelde meer alsof we een administratiekantoor binnenliepen dan een receptie. Buiten stonden overal dozen en het was zichtbaar dat er nog volop werd gewerkt. Bij aankomst bij onze tent werkte de sleutel niet en moest deze bij de receptie opnieuw worden geactiveerd. Ook konden we de terrasdeur niet goed openen en sluiten, waarvoor maintenance moest komen, deze kwam wel snel. Daarnaast meldden wij dat de sleutel van de badkamerdeur ontbrak. Meerdere technische zaken functioneerden niet goed: het stopcontact in de badkamer viel er uit, het warme water werkte niet goed en ook het filter van het buitenbad maakte zo nu en dan een hard geluid. De kwaliteit oogt wat goedkoop. De meeste medewerkers waren echter nog niet goed opgeleid, al deden zij zichtbaar hun best en waren zij gastvrij. Het complex was nog niet officieel open en dit was vooraf niet gecommuniceerd. Dit had prettig geweest, omdat wij dan een bewuste keuze hadden kunnen maken om hier wel of niet te verblijven, zeker gezien de prijs van ruim €200 per nacht. Pas in een brief die in de tent lag, lazen wij dat het complex nog niet voor de volle 100% operationeel was. In diezelfde brief werd ook een compensatie aangeboden in de vorm van een boot-/wakeboardactiviteit. Later bleek dat de boot kapot was. Een dag later was de boot gerepareerd en werd het nog wel een keer aangeboden. Het restaurant is nog niet open, er werd volop aan gewerkt. Ook op andere plekken op het terrein vonden werkzaamheden plaats. Verplaatsing over het terrein ging uitsluitend per golfkarretje wat een superleuke manier van transport is. Lopend naar het ontbijt was ook een prima wandeling. Als we een kar wilden, moesten we bellen, meerdere keren werden we niet opgehaald, waardoor we veel moesten wachten. Een kar per tent zou uitkomst bieden! Er liepen twee grote honden (Rhodesian Ridgebacks)los rond.

One of the highlights was being surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the honeymoon suite—a thoughtful gesture that added an extra layer of romance to our trip. The suite itself was beautifully styled, blending comfort with creativity in a way that felt both luxurious and intimate. The resort’s tented chalets are a masterpiece of design. Each one is uniquely styled, with a creative flair that makes them feel special and different from standard accommodation. We loved how the tents are spaced far apart, offering privacy and tranquility, perfect for couples seeking a romantic escape. The beach canteen was another standout feature. Its relaxed yet stylish atmosphere made every meal feel like an experience, and the food was simply fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, Yamu Lifestyle Resort offers a romantic vibe throughout, from the secluded chalets to the thoughtful service and exquisite dining. It’s the kind of place where every detail is designed to make you feel cared for and inspired. We left feeling refreshed, connected, and already planning our return.

• Stephan (6/5): Sensationelle Lage; viel Potential, aber leider auch viel Spielraum zur Perfektion - Das Yamu Resort liegt sensationell schön an einem Stausee. Die luxuriösen Tents sind weit verstreut auf dem riesigen Gelände. Man ist wirklich für sich alleine Das Resort befindet sich seit November´25 im soft opening, da einiges noch nicht fertiggestellt ist (u.a. das Hauptrestaurant). Wir mussten leider nach dem check-In 1,5h an der Beachbar warten, da unser Tent noch nicht bezugsfertig war. An einer zu hohen Auslastung kann es kaum gelegen haben. Man lässt das Auto an der Rezeption stehen und wird dann mit E-Golf-Karts zu den Tents, Restaurant etc. geshuttelt. Leider sind die Wege sehr uneben und die Karts ungefedert. ZAR 7.500 pro Nacht sind nicht angemessen!
• FURNITURE (8/5): - The resort wasn't fully open when we visited and there was still building work and staff training in progress. Couldn't give full marks for facilities because the main restaurant wasn't open and I didn't use the spa. Its a very beautiful place and we would thoroughly recommend it. Staff were all delightful and very helpful.

Met eigen plonsbad dat verwarmd kan worden op aanvraag en veel privacy. Gezellige beach bar/restaurant. Zeer vriendelijk en goed opgeleid personeel. Genoten van een mooie boottocht tijdens zonsondergang. Alsook van de extra attenties voor mijn verjaardag! We komen terug!

Fabulous clear skies Quality of construction of chalet tent is impressive with wonderful views Snack bar by the lake was ok if limited on choices of food. … staff were friendly This resort hotel may be ok when it’s finished, however it is still much of a building site which has opened for business before completion. No personnel at the entry barrier before you drive through to the resort itself. Reception and welcome were poor (not even a sign to say where it is) and not really very friendly. No welcome drink nor snack at reception nor in the chalet tent. No bottled drinking water offered nor provided on arrival - only available to purchase in chalet tent Access to private tent chalet is via a bumpy dusty golf cart on a rough track 5 mins from reception - no access by car nor foot. Hot tub did not work even after request for staff to light fire and heat it up. No electricity at chalet tent when we arrived. Staff came 15 mins later to turn it on Shortage of hot water for showering - the shower is outside and cold in the almost permanent wind The onsite restaurant is still not built, so only choice is lakeside snack bar Chalet tent was cold in evening and night - we were told not to light the fire and instead staff brought 2 blankets ! Weather was cool and extremely windy so we needed the Resort to have a plan of how to make sure guests enjoy their stay in this weather
