- Lauren (9/5): Stunning property, would love to return one day - Stunning property, decorated beautifully and had some real wow factors. Wonderfully comfortable beds and lovely pillows/quilts. Great little touches upon arriving such as milk, coffee, biccies etc :) would love to come back one day. Great communication from owners Smell of fuel quite strong in the kitchen when heating was on ….this may well be normal for the type of heating at the house :)
Could be a tad chilly but understand it’s a lovely period property , and throws and open fire made it nice and cosy :)
- Nicky Deleij (9/5): - Great location for what we wanted to visit, spacious cottage. Nice garden for our dog to roam around. Good beds and linen. Utilities plenty in the kitchen to make breakfasts and cook. Would recommend this cottage for short and long stay. Shower could use some improvement on water pressure, but it is perfectly usable and plenty hot water provided (we visited several cottages where hot water was gone after 5 minutes).

- Monica (10/5): A great stay in a lovely house! - This was a great stay for us with our dog. Host was great, really simple instructions, lovely house with everything we needed. Location was great for a quiet week away. Nothing of note.
- Bernard John Lee (10/5): We would absolutely stay in Maple Cottage again and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a high qu - We had a wonderful week staying at Maple Cottage and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. It is a beautiful property that is well presented - clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location is excellent - Great Strickland is a beautiful village - and is perfectly placed for exploring the surrounding lakes, walks and villages.
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect - Perfect location, can’t wait to go back already.
Felt really homely and the garden was super secure for our puppy dog. N/A

- Emma (10/5): - Beautiful home with excellent facilities. Really lovely place to spend a weekend
- Victoria (9/5): A perfect place to relax, great location with easy access to lakes. - Very comfortable and tastefully decorated, the fire was lovely, so cozy! even in late Aug! A few days fuel was provided and we really appreciated the little extras tea, biscuits and milk - very welcome on arrival. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring the lakes. Our teen boys really appreciated the comfy bedrooms to relax in, with good WiFi - important if you have teenagers:) It was a coin toss for the cool bunk bed room. Altogether it was a wonderfully relaxing stay. A better shower would be great, but it’s perfectly adequate as is.
- Dayna (10/5): - Beautifully furnished, in a quiet, very pretty village. Easy access to The Lakes. Maple Cottage had everything we needed for a weekend away. Food in the local pub was delicious, well worth a visit.
- Adrian (10/5): Great, would love to return ; ) - Gorgeous Cottage,
Everything was thought of for a short stay, including welcome biscuits, tea, and milk, washing machine & dishwasher tablets, toiletries, even wood left for open fire.
Great pub serving food nearby,
So helpful when we left an item behind : ) All good.
- Mark (9/5): Wonderful property in a great location, very tastefully styled. Will be re-visiting. - Wonderful property on the eastern edge of the Lake District. Beautifully refurbished property in a lovely village away from the crowds. Would absolutely recommend. The property and accomodation met and exceeded our expectations
- Miranda (10/5): What a find! - We recently stayed at Maple Cottage in Great Strickland and it truly exceeded all our expectations, it was even better than the pictures! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautifully it was decorated, with thoughtful touches in every room that made it feel instantly welcoming. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after days spent exploring.
The garden was a real highlight, spacious and secure, making it perfect for our dogs to enjoy safely. We spent many happy moments out there, soaking up the peace and fresh country air. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with rolling hills, charming village lanes, and plenty of walks right on the doorstep.
Our hosts were also fantastic. It is clear to see that they are really passionate about making guests feel at home and even left some delicious shortbread biscuits and a card which was such a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.
Maple Cottage is the perfect blend of comfort, style, and location — a true home away from home, and somewhere we can’t wait to return to.
- Monika (10/5): Cosy & tasteful interiors - Absolutely stunning accommodation, spacious, cosy & tasteful interiors. Could easily spend a week in there! The kitchen was fully equipped, there's a speaker system throughout the house which was definitely a bonus, all beds were extremely comfortable too! I loved every single moment at the Maple Cottage. So did my dog who very much enjoyed the secure garden.
Even though it's not directly located in the Lake District the drive to Keswick or down to Kendall was very smooth and pretty short too. 11am checkout would be better as 10am seems a bit early to pack up all things, get the whole family ready & have some breakfast before hitting the road. Although I am aware it is a standard in many places.
- Michael (10/5): Bliss - Maple Cottage is like something from the most blissful dream. So serene and relaxing with everything you could possibly need. The cottage is so stylish yet cozy. We had the best break. Such a good location for reaching other areas of the Lake District too. Couldn’t have been happier. So much so already planing a Christmas break and Maple Cottage will always be our number 1 choice.
Communication before arrival also was so so good. Just perfect. Thank you N/A
