June (1/5): Awful. - Quick checkin process Not having a lock on the room door from inside. Did not feel safe due to type of people that was staying in surrounding rooms.

Mia (1/5): STAFF VERBALLY ABUSING GUESTS - The Reception staff was fantastic, very welcoming and professional. The girl on the late shift should be promoted to the Manager - she is already doing this job and doing it well. The Bar had no staff - when finally fetched from behind the wall by the reception staff, the bar girl was angry, miserable and extremely rude. She asked me :" what do you want?" without a greeting, without a smile. SHOCKING! When we came back for dinner, again, she wasn't there. When called out, she YELLED at me and my little child : "I'm busy!" ... Needless to say I did not put up with this behaviour, I told her that she needs training in hospitality. I then had to get my child dressed and drive somewhere else to eat, which was a real pain as I booked a place on our way to rest from driving. After sending the complaint emails I received a standard message, probably from the Wonderful Reception Team, who should not have to take the responsibility for this appalling behaviour. If you want to be verbally abused - visit this bar area!

The fact the kitchen and bars were all shut because of a rat infestation that had been going on for a week but they didn't inform.us of before we arrived. They actually said they had informed booking.com so it was thier fault we didnt know.

Trevor Higgs Service (7/5): A good place for a nights stay - Plenty of parking on site and its free. Rooms are a good size, and clean. The entrance could be signed a little better, and its more a contractors hotel than a family place

The bedroom was a little cold even when I had the radiator on the heating cut off at points as if controlled. The duvet was thin so I was cold during the 1st night, ok temp wise the second night. But I would have liked a second blanket but nothing in the wardrobe or for the radiator not to be controlled somewhere else.

Mark (3/5): Would never stay here again and would certainly never recommend it to anyone. Run on the cheap! - Not a thing Carpets in the hallway constitute a trip hazzard, the conservatory was cold and in serious need of restoration. Staff were few and far between and overworked. They avoided eye contact with guests as much as possible. The tables in the conservatory were de-laminating and this caused a risk to health and safety. A part of the shelving fell off as I walked past to get coffee and just missed hitting me. The coffee machine was empty, there was no milk, cups or bowls. They had run out of pastries and croissants. There was no hot food and the bread for toast also ran out. Getting a refund took some time as the poor staff member did not know how to issue a card paid refund. This hotel has potential but is being run by people who clearly have no idea what they’re doing and the staff have not been sufficiently trained, or probably paid for their jobs.
Lynne (1/5): It was disgusting I had a room full of moths giant ones , bits of the wall hanging off dirty surface - Nothing The room was full of moths and dampness with a box of tissues holding a peace of the wall on , all the surfaces where dirty I would not recommend

Rich (9/5): Marvellous will return - please improve how you support your staff when they are struggling. - Location to a bar down the village. And train Station. Friendly chatty staff The wait at the bar. One staff member managing the bar alone!! One person running the bar at the festive period should have support. Delivering plates of food to tables going to each table returning with condiments and extras. Whilst also pouring drinks and taking fresh orders. When the beer needs changing the staff disappeared for fifteen to twenty minuets (why did no help arrive?) The certificate at the door from investors in people should be removed based on this experience.

Only thing was a gentleman getting dressed at the side of the pool where the beds were in the spa/pool area on the sat. Could have went to the changing rooms but he just got dried and dressed in the full main area! Not sure if he was a worm man their as he had a tool kit with him.
