- Jen (10/5): Beautiful, spacious rooms and attentive service - The hospitality was the highlight of the stay. At check-in, we asked to switch from a king to a double. No problem, just a short wait for the room to turn. We went to the bar, and a few minutes later the receptionist came to find us with our keys. Our luggage was already in the room. That kind of follow-through is easy to take for granted when it happens, but you notice when it doesn't. The room and bathroom were both spacious, the in-room amenities were a nice touch, and the complimentary minibar felt genuinely generous. Not something you can say very often. The one area where the experience fell short was around a communication gap at check-in. The on-site restaurant was fully committed until 2pm — we later learned there was a local race event that weekend, though we're not certain that was the cause. A simple heads-up at check-in ("there's a big event this weekend, you may want to make a dining reservation or consider room service for your last morning") would have gone a long way. For a hotel at this level, that kind of proactive guest communication is what separates good from exceptional. A small miss in an otherwise lovely stay.

It boasts of being pet friendly - which is wonderful and allowed me to bring my English Bulldog with me. However, after I arrived I received a list of all the places my dog was not allowed… which was everywhere on the property including outdoor spaces.

Called the front desk 3 times but no response, and had to come down to speak to someone. We booked a one night stay, and decided to depart early and find another hotel to spend the night.

There is tons of character and lots of beautiful details. The rooms are comfortable, nicely decorated, spacious, and come many little goodies to take home. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and always went above and beyond to try and meet their guests expectations. The spa is lovely and has gorgeous views. Looking forward to returning to explore more of what this place has to offer. The sauna was not working and under construction. We had three guests on our reservation and you can only use 2 bikes for free, after that you have to pay. I think the bikes should just be complimentary in general.

- Chloe (9/5): lovely and peaceful stay - I find that many hotels like to follow a monotonous kind of modern and sleek design, and while that contemporary style does tend to exude “cleanliness,” I found that La Bahia did an amazing job at incorporating that feeling of cleanliness while also having such unique and sumptuous interior design! Though tedious, as someone with OCD (specifically for contamination and orderliness), I often have 3 specific criteria for choosing a hotel: 1) bathroom and shower must be as clean as possible and the design/architecture factors into my interpretation of cleanliness as well, 2) non-carpeted/nonporous floors as I feel significantly more comfortable being able to clearly see just how clean the floor is, 3) toilet and shower/vanity area are separated at least by a door. Each criteria was met and thus I was supremely satisfied with my stay! Though the rain prevented me from truly getting to enjoy all of the hotel’s facilities, I enjoyed my stay enough to conceive of revisiting under better weather conditions. Also the hotel’s location is prime!! - And not to mention the Le Labo amenities!
- Julia (10/5): We had a very nice stay at La Bahia. All of the staff were great from check in to departure - The room was very comfortable, the room amenities were very nice. The bathroom layout was great. Tbar & restaurant were nice. Alcohol selection was limited, no Bacardi. The location was great. I thought valet parking was a bit high and no options on the property for general parking.

- James (6/5): Okay, but the on site parking and dog fees were excessive. - Location across from the water. Nice lobby, nicely appointed room, comfortable bed. Not dog friendly. Don’t bring your fur friends. The up charge is just sick (stay $400+ $70 city pet fee) and you can only have them in your room, on the balcony and lobby. During the winter months that is unwelcoming. And you then can’t go to the pool or gym because that can’t be in the room alone either. Up charges for parking is ridiculous.

- Wubbo (10/5): Een dag Santa Cruz is voldoende. Maak dan een wandeling langs de schitterende kust. - Het is een erg mooi en schoon hotel. Het centrum van het plaatsje Santa Cruz is niet interessant. We waren een beetje buiten het seizeon zodat er veel dicht was. Er waren zwervers op straat en de winkels en restaurants zijn niet erg luxe. Wat ons beviel was de wandeling vanuit de Wharf naar de Natural Bridge.
