Guest Reviews
- Carolyne (10/5): So lovely to sit each day enjoying the view of the canal - It was so lovely to sit outside on the canal and we had an extra bonus of the visiting Black Swans. We came home early especially to enjoy sitting outside in the evening watching the swans. The apartment is in a great location. Very close to the beaches and shopping centre. The two-bedroom apartment is also a good size so there is plenty of room with an outside area and lawn. I would stay there again for sure.
- Mahlik (1/5): Apart from the negative, the owners of the apartment you stay in are super lovely and it is shame their neighbours have - Checking Out. I would not recommend staying at this accommodation under any circumstances.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was frustrating and uncomfortable. The property has a long driveway leading down to what is essentially an unused boat ramp, with our apartment located right at the very end completely out of the way of anyone else. Despite this, we were told by neighbours that we were not allowed to park in the driveway, even though there is no logical reason anyone would need access to that specific area.
One neighbour in particular was extremely aggressive. He approached me swearing, carrying on, and speaking in a completely unacceptable manner over the parking situation. I tried to calmly explain that there were no available parks on the street and that our car is too large to fit in the tiny garage provided. Parking in the driveway was the only practical option, and it wasn’t obstructing anyone. Instead of being reasonable, the situation kept escalating and the guy was getting very aggressive and we feared things were going to get physical which left both me and my partner feeling genuinely unsafe for the remainder of our stay.
To avoid further confrontation, I was forced to park a block away the closest available spot which meant a 5–10 minute walk each time, carrying heavy belongings. This was incredibly inconvenient and not something you expect when paying for accommodation.
The issues didn’t stop there. Upon arrival, we discovered the garage lock was broken and unusable, making it impossible to park there even if the car had fit which it didn’t. Despite this, the same neighbour had the audacity to complain about our car being parked outside overnight.
To make matters worse, after aggressively telling us not to park in the driveway, this same neighbour later invited friends over who proceeded to park multiple cars along the exact same driveway. Completely hypocritical and unfair.
The overall condition of the neighbouring areas was also disappointing.
- Alison (10/5): Relaxing - Perfect local, big property and clean
- Vanessa (10/5): Fantastic stay. Definitely coming back! - Beautiful location - our kids enjoyed fishing off the ramp and watching the animal life in the canal (they saw fish, crabs, stingrays, eels, swans etc - apparently you sometimes see dolphins, but we didn't see this ourselves). They could also build sandcastles at low tide in the canal. Easy, quick walk to lovely beach.
A swan made a nest on the property and laid four eggs while we were there. Our kids are both animal lovers, so it was a fantastic experience for them. They both said that it was a highlight of the trip - they ranked it higher than the theme parks!
Location is close to theme parks. We didn't use the lockup garage but chose to park on the road - there was no issue with finding on-road parking.
Very comfortable beds. Having air conditioning in the bedrooms was a life saver!
The locals were very friendly and helpful.
This property exceeded our expectations and we're definitely going to return. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but it was workable. A very small negative that's more than made up by the positives of this property!
- Igor (9/5): Great family time there - Speding the evening at the varanda watching the stars with the family at the sound of laping waters was nice and relaxing.
Well localized property in a calm and quiet neighborhood with shops just a few blocks away. Altough the property is on the first floor of a small complex it is very quiet. Neighbors are lovely and very helpful people adding up to a very famly-oriented atmosphere.
- Cook (6/5): Thank you - Location to amenities, laundry facilities Kitchen facilities were very basic, for the money charged it should have been a lot better. Neighbours were not well behaved, lots of parties until late, didn't like the common area outside our unit being used by all unit owners.
- Peter (6/5): Would have been a lovely stay if they could have fixed the hot water asap or attempted to compensate us for not being ab - Location was great Hot water was broken, unfortunate for the owner I get that. However no sympathy was given and we were expected to wash using hot water from a bucket collected from the kitchen sink. No sympathy or compensation offered.
Main couch smelt like cat wee, we were asked to check nothing died under the seat.
- Suganya (10/5): -
- Powell (10/5): -
- Joel (10/5): -
- Ian (9/5): We did enjoy the area though and it suited our reason for being there. - Swan poop on the patio.
This would only be temporary but we did have to arrange deck chairs as a deterrent when we were away from the accommodation. Parking was a very small issue. A goid thing we didnt have more vehicles!
- Scott Vanessa (8/5): - The unit was clean & functional. We enjoyed a black swan nesting in the front lawn during our stay. There is limited to no street parking and whilst there is a lovable garage available it can be tricky to park in with a larger car.
- melissa (8/5): -
- Maureen (8/5): Outstanding location and great value for money - The location is excellent, close to shops and many attractions. A great outlook of the river and two black swans and their 7 hatchlings visiting daily. We arrived in the evening in rain and difficulty finding key box. It would help people to know that entrance and box is on veranda facing river
- Amanda (8/5): Spacious and comfortable for family of 4 - Location was great - very convenient to everything we needed.
Spacious accommodation, clean and comfortable lounges and beds. Well equipped kitchen.
Air con was great for heating in the bedrooms (we couldn't get the one in the loungeroom to work).
Host was lovely, friendly, responsive and communicative. Carparking space was very tight for our large family SUV. We ended up parking on the street.
No exhaust fan in the bathroom and no locks on the bathroom/toilet doors.
Would have loved a dryer in the laundry - we had some rainy weather and drying clothes was difficult.
Some spare extra blankets/doonas would have been handy as it was quite cold when we stayed.
External lighting for the verandah/lock box area for nighttime arrivals would have been good too.
- Siu (9/5): Great place to stay when visiting the Gold Coast - Great location, and very pretty view.
- Barbara (10/5): Just so relaxing with the stressful nature of our visit. Would stay again. - Having to park in the street
