Guest Reviews
- Kimberley (8/5): Perfect for a short stay - Lovely flat, clean and modern. Perfectly situated for getting into town and the sea front. Fab bathroom and really comfy beds.
Lorna made it easy to know where to park and how to turn the heating on by providing photos.
Didnt spend any time in the garden but nice to know it's there and usable.
Would definitely keep in mind again for future visits. The kitchen is small but has pretty much everything you need...there only seemed to be frying pans...a saucepan would be handy but its not a biggy for a short stay.
- Kamaljit (1/5): Extremely dissatisfied - The listing is misleading as it completely fails to disclose that the owner is living in the apartment. This creates an uncomfortable and intrusive environment and is not what most people expect when booking private accommodation.
The stay felt extremely controlled. We were given strict instructions about when to use the heating to avoid increasing the owner’s bills, which is unacceptable when you are paying to stay. We were also charged extra for bed linen and had limited access to storage as multiple cupboards were locked.
Cleanliness was poor. There was leftover food in the fridge on arrival, which is unhygienic and unacceptable. Basic amenities were also missing, including a microwave.
Noise was a major issue. The neighbours were extremely loud, and after completing the Brighton Marathon we needed rest but were unable to sleep despite being given a late checkout. The situation was bad enough that we contacted Booking.com on the first night asking them to help source alternative accommodation.
The worst part was the behaviour after checkout. We received multiple messages complaining about trivial matters such as a bottle being left out and minor bits of rubbish. The tone was accusatory and excessive, which made the experience feel hostile.
Overall, this did not feel like a proper guest stay — it felt like being monitored and criticised in someone else’s home. Lack of transparency, poor cleanliness, and unreasonable expectations make this a place we would not recommend.
- Reena (6/5): Thank you. - Host was very accommodating and even offered to setup monitor for wfh,
Tea/coffee if you wanted to make one.
Location is perfect,
cleanliness,
designated parking- my main reason to book here.
Host available on phone if needed to ask anything. 1.Confusion around designated parking space, would appreciate if it’s marked. Comment saying no one else ever had any issue as very dismissive.
2. I was asked to take my rubbish out. Which I did but never ever was asked or had to do it before anywhere else.
3. I was questioned about heating. I understand the concern but I found that question very inappropriate, easy solution to implement would be temperature regulation because I was told “guests don't often have the heating on constant since it only take an hour or two to heat the flat but no worries. “ At the property if it became warm enough I did turn it off. We did not cook etc only heating as it was raining n was colder.
- herbert (9/5): - Sehr sauber und hochwertige Ausstattung! Die Zimmer kann man nicht getrennt heizen, alle oder gar nicht.
- Jackie (10/5): - The location was perfect for us, just a short walk into the town centre. On arrival, when we walked into the apartment, we immediately felt at home. Very clean, light and spacious.
Lorna has put a lot of little extra touches around the flat, like flannels and cotton buds in the bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and complimentary speciality teas. Toiletries in the bathroom too of a high quality.
The bathroom has a great walk in shower. I find some showers tricky to use but this one immediately supplied water at the right temperature.
We slept really well on the comfortable bed.
In fact, we didn't want to leave. We could have stayed much longer.
Lorna gives clear access instructions and instructions about utilities in the flat (ie heating)
Overall a lovely place to stay - and two very nice pubs nearby (BrewPub and the Richard Cobden). Both recommended, within walking distance. Honestly nothing. I have already asked to stay again but sadly the dates we need are already booked !
