Guest Reviews
- Christine (8/5): -
- Geoff (8/5): - Good value. Wardrobe, two bedside cabinets, two bedside lamps, power sockets near bed. Comfortable bed with good linen. Big walk in shower. All the basics that you need but often missing. No food available on site.
- Hannibal (8/5): Loved it, especially the bed, very comfortable - Location fine, didn't have breakfast bathroom Bathroom shaver, light not working, hot tap dripping
- Greg (8/5): It was absolutely fine for a one night stay on our way to Cornwall - Very clean and quiet and conveniently located The bed was a bit uncomfortable
- green (1/5): - Shower was ok We wasn't told the pub was closed permanently until after we paid and the nearest pub (Indian restaurant) that we dont eat was a 40 min walk and we were told 12 mins walk ! The mattress was awful and both left with nad backs and had to drive 20 mins every time we wanted to eat etc staff were rude when we asked booking for a refund avoid the place its crap
- Robert (9/5): -
- Clare (8/5): - The price went up by £20 in a week and is due to go up another £20 next week
- antony (10/5): Excellent value for money -
- Clare (8/5): - Clean, warm and cosy room. Just what was needed. I came in at 1030pm- very dark but I had my telephone torch.
- Hannah (8/5): - Bed was very comfy and the host was very helpful. The actual pub was closed when we arrived and I'm aware it's a separate business but I feel that we should have been informed and given a choice if we still wanted to come.
- Harold CHRISTOPHER (7/5): - Very good location close to M5 junction a little north of Bristol. Room was compact, clean and well-equipped. External lighting wasn't working (maybe a sensor issue, or a bulb ?) and pub next door was not open on the night we stayed (no problem, we walked up the road to the Best Western and ate there).
- Jane (7/5): Pleasant stay, please mend the toilet - Clean and comfortable. Good location. Easy to check in/out Toilet in Room 5 drip /runs and makes a noise all the time.
- robert (8/5): Location and quiet makes for a happy guest - Location, cleanliness, quiet The pub (separate business) was closed for some reason hence we had to go to one of the neighbouring establishments for meals
- Stephanie (10/5): - Ideal. Very clean and fresh.
- frank (8/5): - Convenient. Room fine. Lots of tea coffee milk put out for 2n stay Noisy fan.
Condensation in door overnight needs double glazing.
Flags, world cup not started yet.
- Kastur (8/5): Nice, cosy and well thought out room. - Cheap, cosy and well thought out, with iron, hairdryer, kettle, accommodation was local to my job, would defo book again if in the area. Cold - In the winter days extra heater is needed that radiator is nir heating the room fully.
Cob webs hanging off the ceiling need to be addressed badly in room no.4, not a pleasant sight from the bed :o(
- neil (9/5): Pleasant Stay Will Return - Pub with decent food a stones throw away. No problem with car parking . M5 two minutes away Early morning shower was cold but easily resolved with a quick message to host but heating in winter needs to be on earlier for workers
- Abby (10/5): - The location was right next to the place I was working at the next day and the staff were helpful and friendly.
- Pawel (10/5): All good, recommended to stay - Location, cleanliness, value for money. N/A
- Dawn (7/5): Pleasant enough for an overnight stopover. - Hotel was easily accessible from the motorway, very reasonable price. The beer garden is looking very tired, rubbish & garden tools left lying outside, fences broken , panels left on the ground.
- Min (9/5): Stay was good so will be returning! - Very good venue and handy with being by the pub. Room was excellent although as I said to owner when I met him, it could do with a shelf unit or something on the wall where tv was to put vanity case, small bag, etc on. Bathroom great although again a shelf by the basin and a hook for towel near the shower would be handy. Also a handrail by the shower fitment for us oldies to hang in to whilst washing our feet would be great! Oops! See above - just a few bits of feedback.
- Ian (8/5): - Clean, comfortable room. Not one that can be fixed, so observation only - it is near a main road that is busy in the mornings. When the weather is warm and the windows are open it is noticeable.
- Jo (8/5): -
- Alagarsamy (10/5): Good - Good Noise
- Shaun (9/5): stayed here twice. Good value. - Great food.
- Keith (7/5): -
- jones (9/5): -
- Wilkinson (10/5): Perfect stay - Very warm and cosy perfect for our 2 day stay They didn't have Guinness on draught as think it ran out
- John (8/5): Very warm and comfortable -
- Matthew (9/5): Couple nights, clean, quiet and good value for money - Separate from the pub. No interaction needed for check in/out.
- Martin (10/5): El chico del bar es una excelente persona… fue una magnífica estancia. Muchas gracias y saludos - La calidez No tengo comentarios
- Frances (8/5): The good value convenient place to stay - Clean and comfortable in a convenient location The shower tap dripped in one room and the toilet dripped in the other
- Michael (9/5): Veey comfortable well presented room. - A very comfortable room. Everything we needed for a one night stopover near relatives. Having a friendly pub next door a bonus.
- Elouise (10/5): Lovely place.easy to use the staff are lovely and friendly Iwould recommend and use again - It was lovely and clean and nicely decorated. I also like the little added touches like the shampoo and conditioner (I really need to use conditioner and I normally forget to pack it and most places don’t have them) I also liked the fleece blankets that I could use for when I got a little bit chilly. The heated towel rail was also nice. Bot towels after a shower in the winter was lovely. The heating was on a timer and didn’t come on until the evening so it was a bit chilly when we first arrived but we went out and when we come back it was on and lovely and warm. There was also no hair dryer.
- NIKKI (8/5): - Quiet Greeting
- Rhian (10/5): Lovely and very comfortable - Has everything you could need for a perfect stay. Nothing
- Neil (8/5): -
- Susan (9/5): A lovely stay - Clean, comfortable and cosy
Great wet room
Easy to find/ parking
Good value Nothing
- Andrea (9/5): No hesitation to book again. - Lovely little place to stay at and will happily book again. Room was clean, comfortable, warm and quiet.
Thanks so much for a enjoyable stay.
- Jean (1/5): -
- Sean (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - Great room and really comfy bed.
The pub has the best venison ive ever had! Its worth a drive just for that!
Thankyou! The rain!
- Jane (10/5): Close to motor way and easy to navigate to other areas - Comfy warm room in excellent location provided with towels and a walk in shower No issues for me, not bothered about breakfast from property
- julie (8/5): - The accomodation was very clean and the bed comfortable. It was very cold on arrival. Heating wasn't put on before our arrival. Unfortunately it lacked breakfast facilities at the property. The pub would do better by adding this as an extra. As above.
- Wijeratne (8/5): -
- Catherine (7/5): Prefer some human contact, and expensive for room only. - The room was nicely furnished, with comfortable bedding. There was some heating came on. The pub was friendly for dinner and bought a few things from nearby shop for breakfast. Am grateful for help with an item I lost there. Having stayed in some great BnBs on this week’s holiday, I cannot say that I really enjoyed this night’s stay. The room is fine, but there’s nothing else, no outlook and lacking small touches such as cookies and more teas and coffees. I say this because I paid more for this room than the other places I stayed, all with great breakfasts and owners there to help with any questions.
- Stacey (9/5): For a quick place to rest your head it’s perfect - Had everything I needed for the night, including extra blankets and tea and coffee station. Hairdryer and ironing board and iron. Only very small issue was the shower temperature, 8am was better than 5pm though but definitely could have been hotter.
The tv was quite old and the remote played up, had to push the batteries in the back to make it work, also a small white line down the screen.
- Margaret (7/5): The Huntsman Inn was clean, comfortable, affordable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. - It was clean, comfortable and the location was perfect for where we needed to be. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like.
- Andrew (5/5): Ok for a night stop over - Room was clean, well equipped, bathroom was really nice Room was small, Wi-Fi hit and miss, BAthroom fan make a dripping sound quite loud all night!
- Simon (6/5): Good location and facilities, not personally a fan of the "email on the day"! business model. - Handy location for Severnside, comfy room with good facilities. It's one of those "We'll email you the key code a few hours before you arrive" places. Maybe OK if you live glued to your laptop. Or carry it with you everywhere. One real Ale on, at very steep price. No breakfast available. Last time I was there, about 3 years ago, it was included!
- Fede (8/5): -
- LYNDA (7/5): Pleasant stay. - Comfy bed nice and clean. No breakfast. Needed a little tlc a little dated.
- Rob (8/5): Perfect accomodation for no nonsense traveller. - Well equipped room. Pub next door. Helpful and friendly staff. There was a bit of road noise.
- Elise (8/5): Would stay here again, easily accessible and quiet location. - Easy check in and check out
Nice pub food next door
Comfy sleep
Quiet location
Had all the facilities needed A few spiders present, one in a Web which could have been cleaned
The plumbing was not good, the shower would not drain after using for one minute and water flooded the bathroom
- Gary (8/5): Great little place - Clean and well equipped room at a great price
- Peter (8/5): -
- Linda (7/5): Good for one night stay. Room too small for longer but o.k. for the price. - No breakfast. Communication was by e mail ,o.k. for us. Light over sink not working. No human contact. Pub useless as never open.
- jane (9/5): Just the job for what I needed, close to M5. Would stay again. - Simplicity of access via keycode. Very quiet. Room exceeded expectations. Light over the bathroom sink didn't work.
- Heys (5/5): - Nice clean rooms 1x towel for 4 x nights not the best guys I had to buy a new towel
No outside bin for rubbish
House keeping must be on holiday
- Stuart (8/5): Stay was pleasant enough and good value. Lack of breakfast would not be an issue if highlighted in advance. - Convenient location for our visit in the area. Clean room with sufficient space and a nice spacious walk in shower. Convenient pub next door for evening meal, plenty of parking. Good location for visiting Berkeley town. We did not realise that there was no provision for breakfast, other than either a drive to a local garden centre (from 9am) or to buy something from a local shop. But there are no cooking facilities or fridge in the room so self service breakfast would be quite limited. Also the local shop was closed by 4pm on the Sunday.
- Scott (8/5): Great for staying away for work - Clean, well equipped Nothing
- Aundene (9/5): Ideal location. - Excellent place to stay. Had everything that I needed. The bed was a bit too soft for me.
- Schofield (8/5): Very good -
- Maciej (9/5): Pleasant stay once you are visiting country side. - Cozy, with a garden, although property is located close to the road, you can barely hear noise. Inn has good food and friendly stuff, big parking lot available in front of restaurant. All was ok.
- Leticia (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Easy and comfortable - easy stay when visiting local areas - Access to the pub. Easy access to the bedroom, clear instructions. Amenities like tea and coffee. Shower products provided. N/A
- Phil (10/5): Great. Would definitely stay there again - Very easy to access the room. Evening meal was great and staff were pleasant Breakfast not available, however they recommend the nearby garden centre. We found the nearby Hideout lounge in Tortworth . Breakfast was excellent
- Philip (9/5): Superb - Very convenient ..just of M5. Clean room. Ace shower. Competitively priced. Handy for a 'no frills' stopover
- Andrew (8/5): Good value for money and it was very clean and comfortable - While no breakfast was available we were pointed in the right direction to local food and shops. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with an excellent en-suite. There was a portable air conditioning unit which worked well and was very needed as the nights were very warm. There was plenty of safe parking and It was good value for money. On the whole it was an enjoyable experience and we would book again. It would have been nice to have breakfast available on the premises. The garden area in front of the rooms could have been nicer.
- Sophie (6/5): The hosts were friendly and the room was basic, but had everything it needed - It was a convenient location The food was predominantly fried or processed. The rooms had separate access which at night felt vulnerable, but I understand this is a nature of the layout.
- Clinton (10/5): Convenient, clean and pleasant - Super convenient and pleasant accommodation including the location and ease of self check-in. The room was spotless and one of the cleanest I've stayed in which was a nice change from the recent average I've experienced.
For a new business and host, you've left a lasting impression and I hope that you carry this positive management well into the future.
- Al (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (9/5): All good 👍 - Clean, modern Nothing
- George (9/5): Excellent stay - Good sized room, well appointed and decorated. Easy access from the pub car park. Check in and communication with the hosts was smooth. Location was excellent for an M5 stop off on the way to Cornwall. Everything was great. The only comment I could say was the pillows were a bit thick for my taste. Otherwise very comfortable though.
- Leticia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kay (8/5): Ideal for an overnight stop and not too expensive - Great little room ideal for an overnight stay on way down to Devon. Clean, comfortable and not far from motorway A bit dark walking the path to the rooms at night.
- Alison (8/5): Rooms at Huntsman Inn - Good little rooms, not disturbed by pub. Huntsman Inn staff very helpful as were hosts with queries about extending our stay. Very good value. Nothing, it was great.
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very happy! Suited our needs. - Didn’t have breakfast. Dinner at the pub was nice. Staff really did their best to accommodate my plant based request. Extremely friendly and helpful, Side lamp very bright. I had to cover it to mute the light. I wake early and read so was a bit bright for my hubby wanting to sleep in a bit.
- Anthony (9/5): Comfortable Room at the right price - Decent price in good location . Room with shower was excellent and of decent standard; we enjoyed staying there. You could tell some staff we new as are the owners but everyone does there best Nothing

Evening meal at the pub was very nice. Made contact with accommodation and very helpful as I hadn’t checked emails to see check in information.

Not sure if I missed that in the original information when booking.
