• SURYA TIRTANA (5/5): Helpful staff, but misleading description and operational issues made the stay disappointing. - What I did appreciate was the effort from the on-site staff. He was attentive, helpful, and responsive throughout the stay, which made a difference despite the issues. However, the property description should be more accurate and transparent, rather than relying on wording that can create misleading expectations. It would also be advisable for Booking.com to conduct proper first-hand inspections to ensure that listings truly reflect the actual conditions experienced by guests. My stay at Volcano Bliss Villa was unfortunately not as expected. The description mentions a “mountain-facing” view, which naturally brings to mind a direct view of Mount Batur. However, this feels more like a play on words — the mountain visible is not Mount Batur, and in fact, similar scenery can be seen from many areas in the southern part of Bali. It did not deliver the unique volcanic experience one might imagine. During the stay, there were quite a lot of flies, and the villa is located within a village environment where the smell of fertilizer was noticeable. This created a less pleasant atmosphere, quite different from the fresh, cool mountain air one would typically expect in Kintamani. Another drawback is the lack of supporting facilities — there are no nearby restaurants or dining options within convenient reach, which makes staying here less practical. Operationally, there were also issues. The water suddenly stopped during our stay because the property uses a prepaid electricity system, and the balance had run out before they topped it up. Additionally, the shower was not functioning properly and had to be replaced. Overall, while the concept may sound appealing, the actual experience fell short in terms of location, comfort, and basic maintenance.

• Ronny (10/5): - Super netter, gut englisch sprechender Besitzer, sehr gute Informationen von ihm, Batur Vulkan Tour hier unkompliziert gebucht + bezahlt, Gute Ausstattung- Kühlschrank für Getränke + vor allem Warmwasser zum Duschen ( da Anfahrt mit Moped im Regen gehabt). Transfer zum Startpunkt der Batur Besteigung von hier nur 20 Minuten!!! An Unterkunft absolut nichts!!! Nur die vielen Fliegen- aber die sind hier am ganzen See ( egal wo man da gerade ist)!! Mit Google maps die letzten Meter nicht zu finden- aber einfach Einheimische fragen- dann kein Problem. Straßenzustand letzten km schlecht = langsam fahren. Betrifft aber auch wieder ganzes Gebiet. Passiert öfters auf Bali..

Mais le sol et la salle de bain étaient limite a mon opinion, nous sommes aussi arrive dans une periode compliquée car ils pulverisaient les recoltes avec de l'engrais naturel. resultat : ENORMEMENT de mouches
• Carole (9/5): Séjour mémorable surtout grâce à Komang et la qualité de l'hôtel - La qualité de l'hôtel. Tout était bien propre à notre arrivée. Une piscine est à disposition pour se rafraichir. On se sent comme à la maison. Vu la petite taille de l'hôtel, c'est assez intimiste. Mention spéciale pour Komang, un fabuleux hôte pour son accueil et le moment partagé avec lui. Il nous a offert un thé et avons pu échanger avec lui sur la vie à Bali. Très disponible en cas de questions. Une indication sur la porte d'entrée. Nous avons cherché à entrer dans le jardin sans savoir réellement quelle porte prendre.

We strongly recommand this place as everything was working properly and the comfort was beyond our expectations :) Thank you so much! If I could just say about it, in Kintamani there is a lot of flies, many people complain without knowing that the whole area has flies everywhere, these are flies from fruits so they are not dirty. Every places has it so even if you book somewhere else you will find the flies in Kintamani, don't worry about it.

• Harald (9/5): Perfekter Aufenthalt für eine Tour zum Mount Batur - Sehr schöne und moderne Bungalows mit schönem Garten inclusive Pool. Das beste war allerdings das Team von Volcano Bliss. Allen voran Komang. Mit ihm haben wir einen genialen Ausflug zum Tempel, mit dem Boot über den See und zu einem Hindu-Friedhof gemacht. Er hat uns sehr viel über das Leben dort und den Hinduismus erklärt. Vielen Dank für diesen spannenden und authentischen Einblick Mr. Komang! 😀 Nicht wirklich was zu bemängeln 😀 Die Jeep Tour zum Mount Batur Sunrise und die Hot Springs waren ebenfalls genial!

• Trinetti (10/5): beautiful oasis off the beaten path with the world’s best host - beautiful view of the volcano right from your bedroom. nice fresh cut grass to walk on barefoot. amazing pool. very nice minimalist rooms. the host, Komang, and his wife were incredible and made our first trip to Kintamani one we’ll always remember. from the second we arrived Komang was kind, helpful, and essentially helped plan our entire visit. it’s a little off the beaten path but worth it
• Gerhard (10/5): Außergewöhnlich - sehr empfehlenswert! - Das Appartement ist luxuriös ausgestattet mit Smart TV, Marmorböden und einem sehr großen und bequemen Bett. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt mit einem wunderschönen Garten samt Pool. Der sehr aufmerksame Gastgeber kümmert sich um alle Bedürfnisse (Trekking auf den Vulkan, Transporte, …). Das Frühstück war sehr gut und auch das Abendessen kann ich sehr empfehlen. Dazu kommt noch, dass wir viele zusätzliche Informationen über die nähere Umgebung und über Bali und den hinduistischen Glauben bei einer Tempelführung durch den Gastgeber erfahren haben. -

Anfangs wollten wir nur 3 Nächte bleiben aber uns war am ersten Tag schon klar, dass wir länger bleiben. Komang ist ein toller Mensch und Gastgeber, welcher gut Englisch spricht. Er hat uns das Dorf und seine Kultur gezeigt. Wir sind zu einem Ort gegangen, wo wir für uns alleine einen tollen Sonnenaufgang hatten. Seine Frau hat mit und für uns gekocht und ist mit uns zu einem Tempel in der Nähe gegangen. Egal welche Fragen oder Anliegen wir hatten, uns wurde immer geholfen. Touren die wir gebucht hatten, waren sehr toll und zu einem fairen Preis. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und modern. Es gibt noch sehr viele kleine Details, die ich hier leider nicht alle aufzählen kann. Wir können nur danke für die tolle Zeit sagen und es ist kein Wunsch offen geblieben. Wenn wir wieder nach Bali kommen, wissen wir auf jeden Fall wo wir eine gute Unterkunft haben. -

Thank you for this vacation! - Extremely pleasant and friendly staff: they welcomed us with free coffee and cocktails, prepared our meals, and fulfilled all our requests, helping us with any issues we had. For just 400k IDR (per person), they provided us with a tour to Gunung-Batur (including round-trip transportation, an amazing guide named Suli (who deserves our immense gratitude), and an additional breakfast at the top with the best hot chocolate I've ever had).

I highly recommend going on a tour to a temple and around the village with a crew. Felt like home, only the best emotions left. Highly recommend!! As everywhere in Kintamani, expect a lot of flies but it’s a feature of the whole area, not this specific location

Oky, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. He really goes out of his way to make sure you feel at home. The breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful stay surrounded by nature. /

The rooms are clean, cozy, and thoughtfully furnitured. Garden and pool are perfect for relaxing after an adventurous day in Bali. He not only cooked regional meals and organized our Mount Batur tour flawlessly, but also personally took us through the village and gave us a genuine insight into the local culture—including a visit to the temple. His warmth, knowledge, and helpful nature truly elevated our experience. The place is a little hidden away, but that's all part of its charm. It's nestled between the family homes of an agricultural village at the far end of the lake, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. It's definitely worth the journey to get there. You'll love how authentic it feels. You'll get to experience real Balinese life, with a wonderful blend of tradition and modern times. Sadly, 10 points are all we can give... we’d give more if we could! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable stay.
• Deborah (10/5): Fantastisch - My son and I had a wonderful time at Volcano Bliss. Komang made sure our stay was completely carefree, and the cooking class by his wife at the hotel was a real highlight — the best nasi goreng we've ever had! We also went on a beautiful walk to visit a local healer, where I had a truly special experience and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The hike up Mount Batur was another unforgettable moment. Komang also took us to one of the oldest Hindu temples in Bali and explained the prayer rituals in great detail — it was incredibly interesting. We had such an amazing time and will definitely come back. Thank you, Komang!

• Nathen (10/5): 10/10 Unique Kintamani experience thanks to Komang and family! - Honestly Komang the host made this place for me. He is deeply insightful about the local area and took me to visit the oldest temple in Bali and was also able to cater for my vegan dietary requirements which is quite difficult in Kintamani. The room was clean and couldn’t ask for more in the location it is in!
• Totok (10/5): Exceptional - I like Mr. Komang, who served me in a friendly and responsive manner; the internet is fast, so I can watch on LED TV until satisfied, which means a lot to me. The place is comfortable because it is far from the noise of the city, so I can rest peacefully in this place. The next day I joined the activity of enjoying this hotel's Sunrise on Mount Batur. Recommended The distance is quite far, but I can find this place exactly without getting lost with Google Maps.
