Guest Reviews
- Beale (5/5): Wouldn’t dream of staying here again - Nothing much. Parking was available Had to put £50 deposit in in case you damaged or smoked in room. They said you should get in back in 24 hours. Lift only went to 2nd floor we were on 3rd. I could say more…
- Clive (8/5): - Convenient for us. Ideal for overnight stay. Short drive to Tally Ho for Graduation.
- Armand (10/5): -
- Rukhsar (1/5): Rubbish would not recommend - The layout . The car park and outside noise
Door wasn’t not locking
Can’t find staff to speak too
Not very comfy bed also

- Isha (4/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Solo trip - My room was extremely clean, the shower was great with lots of hot water.
Complimentary toiletries including a toothbrush and toothpaste, there's a large free carpark out the back. Once you turn into the street that the hotel is on, look to the right after the shisha lounge you will see the entrance to the car park.
Staff are really friendly.
- Alice (8/5): -
- Vanda (8/5): Good clean with excellent staff - The staff were professional and very very helpful especially one lovely gentleman thank you it was a large room very comfy bed and very clean
Nothing was to much trouble was good for the money Wasn’t easy to locate the room had a generator outside which was very noisy the last night was very noisy make access through the back when you have heavy bags you don’t won’t to be carrying them all the way round
- Sukha (5/5): Staff were good ,outside inside smells of sewage - No breakfast provided or available. Not received my deposit back
- Banaras (10/5): -
- Webb (7/5): Lovely staff, good value for money, although a little warm - Staff were fantastic - I really can't rate them highly enough (particularly Aziz). Friendly, offered an upgrade when we arrived and ensured the rooms that my Mum and I had booked separately were next to each other. The cleaning lady (or team) and reception team continued to ensure we had everything we needed.
The room was spacious, with a good size kettle and other facilities including a bath for my baby. My room in particular was VERY hot (I would guess varying from 25-30 degrees) despite it only being 10-15 degrees outside. The provided fans for us, but even with mine on the window trying to constantly blow cooler air through the wide open window it was still super warm, some airconditioning might be needed... There was also no way of turning off lights from the bedside nor any bedside lights. They also didn't have a travel cot for my baby, but did try their hardest to accomodate for this and come up with a solution.
It's clearly been done up reasonably recently as a hotel, so a few teething troubles like this are expected, and excellent value for money.

- Omar (1/5): I had a long drive from Scotland so stayed here for the night. The fire alarm went off as I was sleeping, when rushing t - Spacious There is a foul smell throughout the building. It isn’t easy to locate & difficult taking bags from car park to front of the entrance of building.
- Phillip (10/5): Nice clean large rooms - Nice play to stay. Definitely stay again.
- Jack (8/5): -
- Rollins (10/5): Fab - Staff were so polite and helpful had no problems at all, ideally situated for a short uber ride to the utillia arena, shops and restaurants near hotel short walk away very pleased great couple of days
- David (9/5): -
- Matereke (8/5): -
- Keishaly (10/5): Great overall, good service and nice place. - Nice and clean. Room floor little dirty( nothing major)
- Paula (7/5): We made it work - Aziz was very helpful when we arrived with a 7-month old to find they could not supply the travel cot my daughter had requested. He arranged for us to have adjacent rooms (we'd booked separately), one big enough to put a child on a sofa bed, and both a good size, bigger than we'd booked. The hotel looks fairly recently refurbished with lovely bathrooms, clean decor, and very comfortable beds. It is spotlessly clean and fan heaters and cooling fans are provided. It's 20-30 mins walk to central Birmingham's conference facilities with good transport links. Car parking was off street and felt reasonably safe. We stayed for 3 nights for a conference, with a baby, so it was never going to be easy, but with Aziz's help we made it work. The hotel is in what felt like a slightly dodgy area which was very noisy until almost dawn on Monday morning, and again into the night on Tues-Weds. I overlooked the street and even with the windows closed I could hear shouting, music, and cars being driven at speed or revved. My daughter's room overlooking the rear car park was too hot even with a fan and the windows open and there was a generator running nearby most of the time (fortunately the baby slept through this variant of white noise!). The blinds on the windows aren't very effective at blocking out light. So I'd say don't use this hotel if you can't sleep through noise or if early sunrises bother you. A few non-standard things like no bedside lights or light switches accessible from the bed and no spoons with the tea/coffee making facilities were odd but not really deal breakers. I needed to connect my (very nice) TV to the hotel WiFi which wasn't hard to do and I'm sure someone would have helped if needed as staff were generally eager to resolve any issues. The room "damage deposit" which is specified on booking.com is still pending on my credit card as of the evening we left so I'm assuming it'll either be reversed or cancelled in the next 12 hours or so.
- Jonathan (10/5): Really amazing so would stay again - Bathroom stunning and room was perfect staff where so welcoming I cannot fault them one bit made us feel so welcome if around that area again I would so stay again Nothing
- Joy (2/5): -
- ANDREW (2/5): Too much noise from guests - Free Parking I kept on bumping my head as above the bed and at the end of the bed, then roof sloped down so bumped my head few times. Room tiny and claustrophobic. Every night guests coming back I to the early hours and slamming doors. Could hear people talking in next room in the early hours and called reception. Emergency exit alarm went off very noisily, had to inform reception twice before they investigated!!!
- Ellie (1/5): Not the best and was uncomfortable - Nothing Great Wasn’t a nice location and catfished
- Medhanie (9/5): -
- Moisés (9/5): -
- Serena (5/5): Diciamo ok ma da migliorare - Lo staff è stato gentilissimo e disponibilissimo. Offerta e comfort praticamente inesistenti. Pulizia da rivedere.

- GandeP (10/5): - Place was amazing, clean and very comfortable. Can't falt anything. Will definitely stay again Initially struggled with parking but staff were very helpful

- Adam (10/5): - Comfy bed
Quite
- Qasim (8/5): -
- Anas (8/5): -
- josey (9/5): Very good - I like the size of the room Na
- Laura (8/5): -
- Sam (3/5): Not worth the money - Large room Blinds weren't complete so gaps with light. Boiling hot with no way to turn heating off so had to sleep with windows open so very noisy as on busy road. Alarm on another rooms door kept going off so they were slamming their door all night!
- Andy (5/5): - Reception staff were amazing I originally booked for one night but a last minute change meant that I wanted to stay for a second night. At the time of booking the only option was to pay for both nights. The following day an automated payment for the single night was taken. Not a problem just an issue of timing I expected to be refunded the single night. However I was refunded the two night stay which meant my second night was cancelled. I had no idea this had happened until I checked in. Fortunately the receptionist was fantastic and realised the problem and one room was free so I could re book the second night although it did cost more money overall. In summary the hotel was fantastic, booking.com less so!
- Allister (8/5): - Not far from broad Street The cold water wasnt that cold in the room to drink.

- Lisa (10/5): A great find! - Just a 1 night stay to visit a relative nearby. We were made very welcome by the hotel staff. Spacious clean room and bathroom. Had a very comfortable couple of days.
- Lucrezia (10/5): - La cosa che più ho apprezzato è stata la pulizia.
- Joanna (10/5): great hotel - N/A N/A
- Maira (6/5): -
- Rachael (9/5): -
- Gracie (8/5): -
- Nia (10/5): Excellent, comfortable, will be staying again - Very modern, spotlessly clean, free car park, fan in the room (fantastic for me as I can’t sleep without a fan). Tea and coffee in the room, smart TV, free WiFi, bathroom is gorgeous with huge shower, heated towel racks, and light up mirror. Complimentary toothbrushes/toothpaste/soaps, comfortable beds with extra pillows available, ironing board, plenty of plug sockets, and double locks on doors (card key lock, and manual lock). 24 hour reception, food available in reception. Easy access to town centre, close to a one stop shop, very friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff. Couldn’t have asked for anything more for a concert city stay (2 nights on a Friday and Saturday) Nothing, slight noise when others on the floor were closing doors but what do you expect in a hotel?

- Timo (1/5): - Location and cleanliness were great! Woke up in the middle of the night sweating, saw the temperature was 29,3 degrees celcius in the room, and we had the aircondition on full blow the entire night before that.
Staff were not that friendly.
- Lauren (5/5): -
- James (8/5): -
- Catherine (4/5): - The bed and shower was really good and thats where it ended There was a funny smell in reception and hallways but not the room. The standard double room was tiny. I would hate to see what a small double looks like. The gentleman on reception had no customer service skills. However the gentleman in the evening was brilliant. The place could be great if the little finishes where done and that smell. The restaurant will not get any customers with that smell and menu (too over the top]
- Brian (1/5): awful never again - the room was big The noise was terrible staff members out the back talking while smoking early morning and late a night extremeley loud.. Guest in the room accross from me and next to me were extremley loud several different ppl coming and going from the room the lift was up and down every 10 minutes and the noise of banging doors etc .. the noise was terrible and extremely poor. Staff had zero interest in help

- chnay (7/5): - was nice and clean love that the provided a tooth brush with little toothpaste and overall it was clean the tv was so quite and so far that i couldn’t really see it and couldn’t here it
- Ayisha (8/5): -
- Sufian (9/5): Clean, good location, parking, helpful staff - Friendly & helpful staff! Good location and has free parking! Clean and well kept rooms. Would highly recommend
- Dobre (10/5): -
- Nahi (10/5): -
- ambia (2/5): The room was very small!! Had to squeeze past the bed - Clean Booked standard double room but was given a small room with no space to move around
- Ali (3/5): Only need one word, terrible. - The pictures were deceiving and the room was a lot smaller than expected.
In addition, the car park was "full" and hotel staff said they could do nothing. I was left to leave my car on the street, where most parking was paid. My complaint was also not escalated

- Hannah (9/5): Peaceful stay, no disturbance. Disable access and lift to all floors - The Hotel Liv, is an excellent hotel. Clean, good, respectful and reliable staff. Free Wifi, free parking space. It is difficult to locate but overall the hotel is excellent The hotel is very clean
- Jennifer Luong (6/5): - Staff was very accommodating and friendly It can get louder slamming doors from guest during late evening as it disturb you sleeping
- Dennis (8/5): Was good cuh. - Clean, simple. Location a bit out the way, parking didnt feel safe.
- Roseline (3/5): - The people were nice The floor was sticky. The shower was not working properly.
Not the best for some with a family.
- graham (7/5): Overnight stay with a friend - 1 night stay for a concert No bar
- Abson (1/5): -
- Mudssar (1/5): -
- Laksibi (8/5): Good hotel and good staff - the size of the bed and the bathroom the little sofa bed was uncomfortable for my daughter
- alac (5/5): Okay - The entrance was fine, modern and pleasant. The room was okay a good size but in the morning when i showered the drain was quite smelly. The receptionist and security guard were really helpful. The drain smell in the shower cubicle which on reflection was in the room as well.
- Jacobi (8/5): -
- TINA (5/5): Would recommend despite challenges - The room was spacious and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful There was considerable noise from other guests which kept me awake until about 3.00am. They were slamming doors, moving furniture around in the room above me which disturbed my sleep. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room.
- Stephen (10/5): - Good parking directly behind the hotel. A more comfortable chair in the room would have been nice to watch tv.
- Hamza (8/5): -
- Loredana-Mariana (4/5): - The staff were very nice and accommodating. They have tried their best to rectify what they have messed up in the first place. The room we were given was not the one we were supposed to get and had a faulty front door that kept on beeping all night long. The couch that was supposed to be the bed for the third person we had with us was broken. The entire hotel needs maintenance. There were holes in the walls and very poor maintenance throughout.
- Yasser (10/5): - Nice and clean. Staff was excellent too. All good
- Lisimo (9/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): Amazing beautiful hotel - I will always be grateful to all the staff at hotel liv for looking after us, we visited on several occasions while a loved one was receiving end of life care at QEH . All staff were very friendly and done everything to make us feel welcome and safe. We will forever be grateful thank you x kelly and Caz xx Nothing
- Subin (9/5): - Gute Lage zum Zentrum von Birmingham. Gratis Parkmöglich im Hof. Nachbarn waren eine Nacht um 3 Uhr laut.
- helen (7/5): - Nice & clean Very basic special touches missing. e.g no bedside lamps. No instructions how to you telly etc
- Dale (2/5): Please avoid this one. - It was close to a shop and takeaway. The bedding had blood on and had to be changed, the rooms ar over a takeaway so it alot of noise. They are also so bloody loud too. The car park is the back of some pub, lots of people stumbling near my car throughout the night. Someone kindly donated a corona bottle to me, luckily they only used my car as a coaster not a bottle bank...
