• Christopher (10/5): Awesome vibes, location and comfort! - Comfortable stay in a well equipped room and a bonus lounge (free coffee, sodas, sake, wine and snacks!). The hotel staff were excellent and helped with restaurant recommendations and booking taxis. The hotel is in a convenient location and has a super cool vibe too!

• Cichocka (6/5): - Lokalizacja bardzo dobra. Kosmetyki dobrej jakości, wygodne łóżka i spora przestrzeń. Niestety pokój ogólnie ciemny, te zasłonki robią przytłaczające wrażenie. Nieprzyjemny zapach z toalety. Absolutnie nie 4 gwiazdki, bardzo słabe 3. Najgorsze były śniadania. To że w budynku naprzeciwko to wiedziałam i mi to nie przeszkadzało. Dosłownie po drugiej stronie ulicy. Niestety nie byliśmy w stanie tam jeść. Mówiąc wprost w tej tzw. restauracji jest tak brudno że nie umiałam nic przełknąć. Oddaliśmy w recepcji bony na śniadania. Niestety w żaden sposób nie zrekompensowano nam tego pomimo próśb. Nawet nie miałam ochoty dokumentować tego zdjęciami , zrobiłam jedną fotkę brudnego krzesła i uciekłam. Ostatecznie skróciliśmy pobyt też bez jakiejkolwiek rekompensaty. Tak informacyjnie-personel nie mówi po angielsku. Zdecydowanie nie polecam.

• Dakota (9/5): The hotel was great, newly renovated and very modern. - Hotel was newly renovated so everything was modern and updated. The room was large which was nice considering most other hotels we stayed at the rooms were very small and cramped. We only had two problems- 1 the dryer shrunk all of our clothes no matter how much a tried to change the settings. It seemed to only wash on hot water and dry on high heat, so this was extremely frustrating. 2 the rooms were very hot and humid compared to what we are used to in the US, but this was an issue at all the hotels we stayed at.

• Michelle (10/5): Our stay here was relaxing, with all the comforts of home. - This gorgeous hotel was in a perfect location for exploring Kyoto. A subway station was a half block away and there was an elevator available to get us from the ticket floor to street level with our luggage. The reception staff was friendly and held our bags for us since we arrived 3 hours before the check in time. We were given tea and snacks while we completed the necessary check in paperwork in the inviting lobby area. The room was large, beds were very comfy, and the large couch was an added plus. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, and matcha supplies. Coffee and tea samples were in the room, and the lobby had a 24 hour coffee and soda bar. In addition, the included breakfast was phenomenal. Every day, there were new items to choose from at the enormous brunch bar buffet. Breakfast was in the sister hotel across the street, from 6:30-9:30 every morning. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The laundry washer in our room was also a dryer. It took about 4 hours to complete one load. Detergent was provided. We highly recommend this hotel.

• Michele (10/5): - Stanza abbastanza ampia (per gli standard giapponesi). Letto comodo e grande (2 letti queen size). Bagno spettacolare, molto grande e ben accessoriato. La stanza includeva anche una lavasciuga nell'antibagno. Rifiniture di alto livello. L'albergo offriva un servizio di caffè e piccolo ristoro accessibile gratuitamente per tutta la giornata. La posizione è molto buona perché vicina a 2 linee della metro ma bisogna camminare circa 15 minuti per raggiungere il centro di Gion e Higashiyama Vale per tutti gli alberghi giapponesi provati, la colazione termina troppo presto (9:30). Bagno un po' buio, servirebbe qualche luce in più sul lavandino
• Fione (10/5): Everything was good - Facilities were all amazing. Loved the Refa shampoo and conditioner on my hair. Rooms were beautifully designed. The family room was quite spacious while the twin was decent. Bathrooms were huge tho. Window curtains didn't work so it was really bright in the morning.

It has a big living area with sofa, large TV and a separate area with a tatami where you can relax or have a meal. The lobby has an amazing energy with good spaces to enjoy their unlimited Sake and coffe machine. Best hotel I stayed in Japan until now. The only thing that really bothered me (and its the same with all the other Japanese chains I stayed with) is that for some reason there is no space AT ALL to put your clothes beside a few hangars. - NO DRAWS - NO SHELVES They expect a family of four to be living from a suitcase during the stay. I perfectly understand that Japan culture is minimalistic in their esthetics and would like to avoid clutter but by not having a place to put you shirts, socks and underwear it actually creates more clutter by having suitcases open on the floor. • Matteo (9/5): Albergo fantastico e camera spaziosa! - La camera era incredibilmente spaziosa e dotata di tutti i confort, letti comodi e ambienti molto silenziosi. Comodissima la lavatrice che, anche se con display e tasti in giapponese, si poteva utilizzare con semplicità grazie a un video tutorial. L'albergo molto vicino alla metro per potersi spostare con comodità. In reception erano disponibili bevande calde gratuite. Peccato non aver potuto usufruire del servizio bagagli per la spedizione all'albergo successivo, perché sono necessari almeno 2 giorni lavorativi per destinazioni diverse da Kyoto (mentre era pubblicizzato un servizio in 24h).

• CHRISTINE (10/5): Cet hôtel est fabuleux ! - L’hotel Hanare est un enchantement ! En premier lieu, il est facile d’accès : à 200m de la station de metro Karasuma Oike (ligne K). Cette station recoupe aussi avec la ligne T, donc tres centrale. Depuis la station le quartier de Gion est facilement accessible à pieds (c’est tout droit vers le fleuve, on ne peut pas se tromper !) L’hotel en lui-même : facilement identifiable dans la rue, une devanture vraiment jolie. Le hall d’accueil est un enchantement, decoré avce beaucoup de goût. A disposition : machines à café et boissons diverses. Tout le personnel d’une amabilité exquise. À notre arrivée vers 12h, nous avons pu faire un pré-check in et laisser nos bagages pour visiter confortablement le quartier (nous m’avons aussi fait lenjour de notre départ) Un thé de bienvenue nous a été offert pendant sur l’hôtesse enregistrait nos passeports. L’hotel est récent, tout est neuf et propre. Voyageant avec nos trois adolescents, nous avions reservé une suite familiale. À notre retour plus tard dans la soirée, nos bagages nous attendaient dans la chambre. Des traditionnelles claquettes japonaises en bois etaient disposees dans l’entrée, ainsi qu’une boite à thé de bienvenue contenant du thé matcha et un qr code pour accéder aux vidéos expliquant comment proceder à la cérémonie du thé, et des pyjamas traditionnels d’excellente qualité etaient mis à disposition. La chambre etait belle et très spacieuse, avec un petit coin cuisine offrant de la tres belle vaisselle, la salle de bain absolument fabuleuse, les produits de douche d’excellente qualité, des brosses à dents jetables, des toilettes séparées et cerise sur le gateau une machine lavante séchante de 12 kg avec lessive fournie ! La chambre est aussi équipée de prises usb et usb-c. La rue est calme, les chambres tres bien insonorisées, la literie est fabuleuse. Concernant le petit déjeuner : le restaurant se trouve à quelques mètres dans la même rue. Rien, cet hôtel est parfait.

• Ramario (10/5): We tried a new hotel and it exceeded all expectation! - 10/10. It was the most comfortable stay we had in 20 days of traveling through Japan. Location, A+, staff A+ they allowed early check-in which was fabulous after 2 days of camping. Washing machine in the room was a pleasant suprises and we made good use of it. We typically stay at the Ace Hotel which was down the block, this was however in our opinion a much better option and our pick for future Kyoto outings. All in all it was a wonderful experience. I imagine the price point was a bit high due to the season, but honestly, we aren't regretting it. Would completely recommend. Nothing all was fine.

The rooms were clean and well kept. I would advise to stay at the higher floors. They gave us the ground floor and there was no external light coming into the room.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. I got sick during my trip and the staff was nice enough to help me find a nearby clinic which was a huge help! A big bonus was the washer/dryer machine in the room.

Room, we had the two single, double sofa bed (comfy) heaps of room for 4 adults and large suitcases. The bathroom was fabulous and after a day of walking it was nice to have a soak in the bath tub (full size). The shower great pressure. Loved the friendly, helpful staff.

• Daniela Maria (9/5): Wunderbar eingerichtetes Hotel mit Wohlfühltouch! - Das Personal hat uns sehr herzlich willkommen geheissen, man hat uns einen Tee angeboten und das in der Empfangshalle zur Verfügung stehende Verpflegungsangebot erklärt. Zu jeder Zeit konnte man sich dort mit heissem Kaffee, kalten Getränken und Snacks und zu bestimmten Zeiten mit Sake oder Wein vom Buffet bedienen. Ein Angebot, das wir sehr geschätzt haben. Das Interieur ist edel, wunderbare Materialien und Farben wurden verwendet. Einige Bonsai schmücken die Reception, was einen tollen fernöstlichen Touch gibt. Das Personal war äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein Zimmer für 3 Erwachsene für 3 Nächte gebucht. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und optimal eingerichtet: genügend Kleiderbügel und Platz, um die Jacken aufzuhängen. Sogar eine Waschmaschine gab es im Zimmer, die wir genutzt haben. Die Amenities waren gut sortiert und einfach perfekt. Man könnte mit kleinem Gepäck anreisen, da sogar Schlafanzüge im Zimmer bereitlagen. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden, fühlten uns im Zimmer sehr wohl. Grüntee, Kaffee und Süssigkeiten im Zimmer werden immer geschätzt und waren in diesem Hotel vorhanden. Wir sind per Shinkansen/U Bahn angereist und haben vom Hotel aus zu Fuss verschiedene Attraktionen besichtigt.

• Margot (9/5): We loved our stay at this hotel! - Facilities were very nice, comfortable beds, and the room was extremely spacious even for American standards. The shower (specifically the Refa showerhead) was incredible, they even sell the showerhead in the lobby lol. The bathrooms are also equipped with a Refa blow dryer, and Refa shampoo/cond/bodywash, which they also sell in the lobby along with other Refa products (really nice Japanese brand). Free sake in the lobby which was fun to try. Neighborhood was quiet and very nice to walk around, lots of cute shops, restaurants, bars. Very close to a subway station. Breakfast was pretty good. While we loved the neighborhood, it was a little farther of a walk to many of the sights we were seeing if we weren't taking the subway (but, it was still in walking distance to everything). Also, the light in the toilet room was on a motion sensor and would turn off very quickly, would be better if guests can just turn on/off the light themselves. The couch was EXTREMELY hard, like sitting down on a rock.

• Grant (10/5): Fantastic value for money: Hanare above and beyond - The property was central, had a free flow coffee and sake bar and a digital tea ceremony. The also hosted a meet and greet with a true Kyoto Maiko which was amazing. What I loved was their stamp rally: they have 4 hotels in Kyoto and if you visit and sake taste at all 4 and collect stamps, you get souvenirs! The staff was so friendly and helpful and assisted us brilliantly in tracking down the art dealer of art we had seen displayed in town. The room was SPACIOUS and beds super comfortable. The fact that we could log into (our own) Netflix, Disney and Prime accounts was SO GOOD. Nearby Hanare is an EXCELLENT bicycle hire called 100bikeskyoto, walking distance. We cycled 30km the first day and 16km the second. The breakfast was so-so but overall got the job of getting much needed fuel in is done. Coffee from the free flow machine is GOOD. Highly recommend Hanare by Tokyu Stay; it felt like our own mini apartment: the amenities were plentiful and having our own washing machine in the bathroom a HUGE bonus. Could not believe value for money. Breakfast is quite understated but in essence gets the job done of feeding you.

• Pamela (10/5): Excellent hotel in Kyoto - We absolutely loved everything about the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and available. The lounge/reception area was really cozy and spacious as well to sit and have a coffee or snacks. Great location as well! Nothing to comment.

• Natalie (10/5): - From from the moment we arrived we were greeted by the concierge and given a welcome drink and escorted to our room which was huge by Japanese standards three double beds absolutely beautiful bathroom and the washing machine dryer combo in the room was amazing. This is a beautiful hotel , central to everything as well. There were complimentary drinks available in the evening in the foyer and snacks and coffee available all day. We did the digital tea ceremony and it was so fun..overall a wonderful stay. Nothing it was perfect

• carol (9/5): was a good experience and I would recommend this hotel. - The staff was super helpful and nice, the location was great and near public transportation. The room was spacious and nice. I stayed twice because i loved my first stay. But the second time i found my room had a moldy or negative smell so I had to use the room spray for the bathroom and nearby which was fine afterwards. I hope that I can have my first room again if I book again which had no flaws and I would still recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

• Kai (8/5): Spacious room, good location, slight odor in the toilet - The hotel was conveniently located near the karasuma oike subway station. Though if you have large suitcases, you may want to take exit 3 since that one has an elevator. The staff was very helpful and check in and even gave me and my wife tea and sweets while waiting for the check in procedures to complete. There’s free snacks, sake, coffee, and a soda bar in the lobby for the guests as well. The room itself had a small kitchenette and a box of assorted kyoto tea’s and coffee were given to us as well. The shower/bathtub is very spacious and is separate from the toilet. The hotel is a pretty close walk to the shijo kawaramachi area, so there’s plenty of shops and restaurants around. The toilet in my room had a faint odor and I started smelling immediately after we first got to that room. It didn’t seem like it was coming from the actual toilet itself since the toilet looked clean. It stayed in the bathroom and wasn’t super strong though.
• Jennifer (10/5): Our home away from home in Kyoto 💝. I was so sad to leave our little oasis and will never forget it 🌸 - I loved EVERYTHING about this hotel ❤️. Our room was like our own little apartment in Kyoto. So spacious with cozy beds and bedding and the most incredible shower and bath room! I felt like we had our own spa. The staff were over the top warm and wonderful - manager Yoshi and Nana especially made our stay special. The lounge with free sake and snacks everyday was another perk and breakfast was excellent. This was one of my favourite hotels ever and I was so sad to leave. Do not hesitate to book this one- it is extraordinary. Nothing!

• YUKO (9/5): 京都を感じてゆったり過ごせる居心地の良い宿 - ファミリールームに滞在しました。広さは充分。四人家族にオススメです。トイレ別、バスタブあり、洗い場あり、洗面台2つ。洗面台のところに扉があり、脱衣場+洗濯機、物干しラックあり。夜洗濯して、朝には軽い洗濯物は乾いていました。部屋にあるお茶のセットは京都のもので揃えられていてこだわりを感じます。また、スタッフの方は観光地への行き方もしっかり把握されているので助かりました。バスが混んでいたので地下鉄のみで辿り着けるか、道は歩きやすいか、など。Google情報だけではない分かりやすくさでした。朝食もおいしく、和定食にも洋定食にもできるよう構成されていました。私は西京焼きを選びましたが、お魚も副菜のしろあえやごま和えも美味しかったです。また、朝から湯豆腐が食べられるのも京都を感じて嬉しかったです。子どもたちはラウンジの駄菓子に夢中でした。また泊まりたいです。 ラウンジに緑茶や紅茶があるとさらに最高でした。近くに素晴らしい和菓子のお店もありますし、ゲストに英国の方といらしたので、ぜひご健闘をお願いしたいです。あとはアメニティにボディークリームがあれば嬉しいです。

• Kayo (9/5): 最高でした！ - ラウンジで美味しいコーヒーやソフトドリンクや駄菓子をいただけたので何度か利用させていただき、子供も喜んでいました。 お部屋も広くとても快適でリラックスできたので、観光でたくさん歩いて疲れた後ホテルに帰るのも楽しみでした。 あとは家族４人で2泊だったのでいつもの旅行ならたくさんの洗濯物を持ち帰りますが、お部屋の洗濯乾燥機が使えて最高でした。 立地も落ち着いている場所で静か、周りに美味しそうな飲食店がたくさんあり、お店を選ぶのも楽しくどこも美味しかったです。 洗面所やトイレへの扉が重く、最大限に開いても止まらずに閉まってしまうので、洗面所やトイレの出入りが多いと少しだけ疲れるかもしれません。

While the hotel provides the option of "requesting for cleaning" but basic cleaning should be carried out even if the guests havnt asked for it or else it was causing allergy.
