Guest Reviews
- Sherice (7/5): - The location The pillows were uncomfortable and the bed needed a mattress topper
- Chelsie (10/5): - Was an amazing once in a life time experience.
I loved the beautiful area surrounded by lakes & wildlife with stunning views
a very peaceful night with plenty of places nearby with pubs & restaurants within walking distance .
The property was clean , staff were really friendly, many types of electricity to charge my devices ,
- Lisa (1/5): Complete Nightmare - The location was ok. The accommodation was misleading to say the least. When you read that, it’s your chance to spend a night on a River boat and appreciate the views, with an onsite coffee shop with a chance to hire bicycles, you assume you are going to be staying somewhere really nice, you also think that when it mentions there’s an electric kettle and Flat screen TV, you assume that you have electricity……..much to my shock, you do have a phone charging socket and twist lights that work, using a car battery, the other sockets don’t work unless you maul the heavy generator of the boat, fill it with petrol, turn on the generator and then the sockets work. I for health reasons could not lift the generator so the owner did put it outside and put fuel in, it lasted nearly an hour before the fuel ran out and then no electric.
I was sent a message telling me that the gas stove is used to heat the boat but if needed there was a little heater that could be plugged in but I didn’t have electricity so couldn’t use it.
The Flat screen TV wasn’t on a base and it wasn’t attatched to a surface, so you basically had to position it yourself to watch it, but I only watched it for 30 minutes because had no electric if I forgot to mention.
On the surface the boat was clean, that was until you opened a drawer and found it full of rubbish and the fridge wasn’t clean either. The bed wasn’t comfortable and I had to lie on the duvet to make it more comfy.
There isn’t a working shower, it’s a bag that you fill up and use when camping. To use the shower you need to remove the toilet into the cabin because there is no room to leave it in if you need to shower.
I was booked for 7 days and I lasted 12 hours. I couldn’t stay somewhere which was not what I was expecting. When I arrived I was exhausted and just needed to rest or I would have left then. I had to seek different accommodation in Leicester and asked if O could be refunded as the accommodation wasn’t what was advertised.
