• Fabienne (7/5): Doit progresse dans le service. - Hôtel isolé dans la nature avec vue magnifique sur les monts d’Auvergne. Chambre agréable à la décoration épurée.prix très éleve. Nous n’avons pas dîné car menu unique pas adapté à une personne ayant des contraintes et intolérances alimentaires. Le service n’est pas du tout à la hauteur du prix de la chambre.

Par ailleurs, très déçu par le picnic 'étoilé' commandé pour le dernier jour. Très cher pour ce que c'était. Trop petites portions, pas assez à manger et pas de boissons incluses. 49 euros par panier picnic beaucoup trop cher.

• Christian (10/5): Plusieurs sejours dans cet etablissement et nous reviendrons avec plaisir - l'emplacement est exceptionnel tout en haut du village du BROC ,dans les ruines du château avec une vue panoramique sur les volcans d'Auvergne. Le petit déjeuner est au niveau du repas gastronomique . De ne rester que 24h ! nous avons tout apprécié .

• David (10/5): - Tout est parfait, la chambre, le dîner, et le ptdj en chambre top Ce n’est qu’une suggestion. Je pense que le personnel pourrait être habillé un peu plus « moderne », mais ce n’est que mon avis. L’hyper classique peut convenir à la majorité
• johan (8/5): Het restaurant is een schitterende ervaring, de reis waard. - De keuken onder leiding van Adrien Descouls is ronduit subliem, het diner was een smaakervaring zoals men ze zelden ervaart. Het personeel in de zaal is zeer competent en niet opdringerig. Kortom de overnachting met diner en ontbijt is zeker de reis waard. Bij aankomst en vertrek was er niemand te bespeuren aan de receptie. Wat ons ook wat tegenviel is dat de bar van het hotel pas opent om 19u, de rest van de dag moet je het zonder bar stellen, voor een 5* hotel is dit niet verantwoord.

• Robert (6/5): Pleasant but overall we found it all overpriced, most people seemed to just stay for one night. - It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful. It’s misleading to say our panoramic room had a Mountain View as there aren’t any mountains. The view was over flat farmland to a very distant puy with a village on it. Half the view was blocked by overgrown shrubs. We were in room 3 so I wouldn’t recommend it. Rooms are not really for more than a one night stay as there isn’t anywhere to put things, just a very small wardrobe that is too short to hang a dress in. It would be better described as a restaurant with rooms.

• Anaïs (8/5): Bien mais pas au niveau d'un cinq étoiles - Vue très belle. Sympathique étape lors d'un voyage vers le sud. Bistro de bonne qualité, petit déjeuner très agréable. Un peu cher/prétentieux pour ce que c'est. Le cadre est très beau, mais le service suit moyennement, pas par manque de professionnalisme car les personnes présentes font tout pour être le plus efficace possible, mais le manque de personnel se fait fortement ressentir pour un établissement cinq étoiles. (Attente à la réception vide, service lent et désorganisé au restaurant, manque de petites attentions à l'accueil...)

• Bowling (10/5): A true extravagance - This was an extravagance but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The room a disabled room was delightful and had good access for wheelchair ( not that I now use one) my only concern would be where does wheelchair go with bed but all I can say is it's one of the best I've seen. The receptionist was more than welcoming and let us choose the room. The food was a delightful experience with again excellent service and my lactose intolerance was individually catered for with care. The chef is clearly talented and each of my six courses tasted devine and full of flavour. Total bill for our overnight stop was 800euro and we're not heavy drinkers I sure if you were 1000euros would be possible. So not cheap but so totally out of the ordinary including breakfast on the sunterrace in the morning. I took a stroll around the hotel and enjoyed the panoramic views before we left. A real treat Nothing really there were room rates displayed less than we paid. But I liked the room we chose.

• Michelle (10/5): Exceptional service and food in this gem of a hotel . - A gem of a hotel and restaurant. The location is amazing , perched high with amazing views . Just off the motorway , so a perfect stop for travellers like ourselves . Parking was easy in a car park opposite and being a small village it felt very secure . The staff were very attentive & efficient and also really friendly . The rooms are comfortable and stylish , each a little different and because it’s a small hotel the service is really personal . We had our small dog with us and there was a bed , some food and a gift waiting for him too . We were welcomed to our room with drinks & chocolates , it’s the little things and attention to detail that make the difference . We ate at the restaurant in the evening and it was superb! Chef and his staff were exceptional. Deserving of his Michelin Star ! The food was delicious and a really treat - the flavours in each course were amazing . We would highly recommend it . The restaurant itself is very stylish with excellent views. At breakfast there were even binoculars on the table so you could look at the lovely countryside view . We hope we can visit again . Nothing - everything was perfect

Of course we really loved the star restaurant during diner and breakfast with the great panoramic view and they already provided us in advance with a binoculus. • Andrew (9/5): A first class and memorable experience. - This is a unique and very special hotel due to its location, stylish modern design set within a ruin and the fine dining experience where the the presentation has an element of theatre. It all makes for a most enjoyable and memorable stay. It comes at a price but is definitely worth it.

Our second visit again met all our expectations re comfort, quality of food and service. Complimentary water in the room would have been a nice gesture for a high end hotel.

• Dawn (9/5): Really enjoyable stopover - next time (and there will be a next time) we'll make sure to try the restaurant. - It was in a beautiful location - felt rather in the middle of nowhere but really close to the autoroute and a small town, Issoire. Staff were lovely, the room was comfortable and well equipped, and the view from the restaurant where we had breakfast (expensive but worth it) were stupendous. Never had a breakfast before where there were binoculars on the table, or where the staff came and boxed up the pastries we hadn't eaten to take away. Ours was a late booking for a stopover so unfortunately the restaurant (which has a Michelin star) wasn't open and nor was the bistro. There is a room service option which we would have taken but it was quite limited. Having said that we enjoyed a good regional meal at a brasserie in Issoire. Next time would also book a room with a view.
• John (7/5): It’s a fairly nice accommodation . However, there is better value and quality elsewhere at their price point. - Nice comfortable bed and spacious room. Staff is somewhat friendly. Inconsistent quality, particularly with a very over priced breakfast. I would expect a breakfast at this price point to include eggs without an additional surcharge and the toast to be warm and not stale.

We have stayed here 7 or 8 times now, and absolutely love it - BUT it is now just far too expensive for us at over €500 for an overnight stay with dinner and NO breakfast, so sadly we can't afford to stay there again.
