• Kyra (2/5): Nasty rooms, poor check in process, and lack of communication made it a terrible experience. - Location was the only good thing about the property. It was close to restaurants and the race track. location is the only good thing about the property. 1. The check in process: We received an email 24hours prior to check in saying, "let us know when you plan to check in." Unfortunately, we can't always confirm the exact time for check in on a business trip due to reasons such as Traffic delays which we had incurred. We had assumed if we arrive after 4pm, we should be fine to check in as there was no mention of needing to collect the key from front office on the confirmation email. About an hour and a half before 5 pm, we received an email saying "by the way the office closes at 5 so if you arrive after, you'll need to coordinate the key pick up." We were still driving down from Atlanta by this time and our ETA showed 5:15pm. In a panic we called the rental agency and had no answer. We then called booking.com and spoke with agent named Jay who mistakenly hung up on the call. We called booking.com back and spoke with agent Mary Claire M who relayed to rental agency that our ETA was 8:15 pm which was not the correct information. We had advised our ETA was 5:15-5:30 pm. Luckily the actual hours for the front office were until 6 pm which we were able to collect the key. The front office was surprised we showed up at 5:30 as they were told we would arrive by 8:30 pm. We collected the key and made it to the room. 2. Arrival: The apartment complex gate was not secure. We did not have to enter a code, we were able to drive straight through, this is a bit concerning for our safety during our stay. We entered the room as the sun was setting so the room was pretty dark. May of the lights did not work and we learned that many of the lamps did not have bulbs and 2 of the bedrooms did not have any overhead lights at all. We believe one of the beds were not changed from previous stay as it had stains, hair, and dirt all over them. We did not feel comfortable sleeping there. The towels also had stains. The picture frames were crooked and damaged.
