- Justė Austėja (2/5): - The windows couldn’t be opened, and the fan didn’t work. On hot summer days, the room was unbearable, like being trapped in a sauna. Sleep was impossible. I woke up every two hours, drenched in sweat. It was hell.
- Brigid (5/5): Room far too hot and unable to cool down, but cost and city-center location very good. - The room and en-suite bathroom were both nice and clean, and the city-center location is excellent. The shared kitchen (via linking doors) to the next room was uncleaned and no crockery/cutlery/cooking equipment was provided. The doors linking the room to the kitchenette (and therefore next door room) were also not very secure! The room was also extremely hot, following the recent heatwave, and impossible to cool down as the windows were fully sealed/did not open. Moved to another room (fully self-contained) after a few days, but this was also very hot throughout my stay!!
- Ian (9/5): Excellent place to stay. - Cleanliness of flat TV did not work.
- Anonymous (1/5): Pathetic. - I did not like anything at this property. I was never sent any instructions on how to check in despite chasing this up several times before hand. Once checked in I was getting harassed emails saying my student ID wasn’t ok and I couldn’t check in till approved. Although I already had - very embarassing from the admin.
People on the desk were clueless.
V stressful.
Room was boiling. No soap. No towels. No hairdryer. Dirty floors. Dirty bathroom. No bin. A whole grubby feel to the place. The kitchen had piles of plates and dirty pans in the sink.
- Laura (4/5): Disappointing - Modern, good facilities It was too overheated, the hot water on the shower didn’t work very well
- Evan (9/5): Superb - Great location, ideal for solo travel or short term stays Kitchen was untidy however I did not need to use this room much so was not a big issue for me
- Vladyslava (4/5): Not the worst but definitely not the best. - The location was perfect, super close to everything but still quiet and chill. The staff was very kind and helpful. I was completely fine with the fact that the room didn’t really look like the one on booking. My main concern was that the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I thought people exaggerated their complaints but I genuinely don’t remember the last time I had such poor sleep. I should probably also mention the fact that my bedsheet had a major stain on it that I only discovered shortly before checking out (so I left wondering whether the sheets were washed at all)
Another problem was the absence of soap in the bathroom - are people expected to bring a bar of soap with them on vacation?
- Mar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Numan (1/5): Bad -
- Roberta (6/5): Pleasant - When I arrived at the apartment, there was still trash from the previous guest in the apartment, which was very unpleasant for me!
At the reception, I was given magnetic keys that did not work! Out of the three days of my stay, I spent two days having to contact someone at the reception to open the doors for me. After much insistence, they managed to get a key that worked.
- Lilian (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanliness and good customer care It was great
- Johanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kit (8/5): Very good - The room itself was very dark and there was a constant fan whirling noise. I would not have wanted to spend any time in the room other than for sleeping See above
- Fabbiha (5/5): Nice room but not worth risking heat stroke. - I liked the location, it was in the central part of Newcastle but still in a quiet area. The room was spacious and clean and they provided utilities and appliances. There was no one to check in with, so collecting the keys and finding my room was a bit difficult. My biggest complaint is the ventilation system. The windows do not open in the room and the fan that is supposed to provide ventilation did a very poor job (I don’t think the fan actually did anything). I felt overheated in the room and the lack of ventilation was a serious health and safety issue which no one told me about beforehand. There was almost no one at the reception to go to for help and no one picked up the phone when I tried to call for help. Overall, the ventilation and hospitality was extremely poor.
- Aaron (8/5): Very good for the most part. - The place is aesthetically pleasing; very close to the city centre; incredibly clean; very quiet; friendly staff, especially Dani; good internet speed; and they do provide kitchen utensils, washing up liquid, and cutlery. The room can get quite hot and the windows can't be openned.
- Pat (9/5): Superb - Good location. With cooking utensils, cutlery and everything you need. Got soaps and towels and the bed was fine. Good facilities (movie room, study room, common rooms etc) and most people are away in summer, so I can pretty much use whichever room I wish alone. Cheap. Good wifi. Probably has everything a person needs for a stay. I would say it is better than many hotels. I think the photos are kind of misleading. I saw a room that has pictures hanging on it and with two floors. That is inaccurate. The room is a studio room, with a double bed (not a king size). With kitchen on the side and a bathroom. That's it. Below are things that the accommodation can improve on, but you can call it nit picking: Without an iron for cloth ironing. Self check in and check our needs clearer guidance. There is no receptionist for a long period of time, so always need to make a call which may take time. The staff was quick to respond though. No windows that could be opened, so some people may find the room slightly hot. The bath floor is still wet after a day of bath, probably need some fix to the bath. Washing needs five pound minimum for activating account (an external company), so could be a bit annoying (I am a bit of picky here as you may need four pounds plus to complete washing and drying, but since I just want to do washing for once, so I felt I'm forced to pay extra to dry and try use up the five pounds). May need a larger bin, since trash adds up and quite inconvenient to head to the dumpsters everyday (the dumpsters is just downstairs, but most visitors I bet don't bother clearing the trash).
- Natalie (8/5): Very good -
- Gavin (5/5): Good if you're on the budget and have low expectations - Location, space, kitchenette, early check-in, bathroom No email with details on how to get to the property, the fact that my room wasn't cleaned before I checked-in (!), room didn't look ANYTHING like the one on the photos, fact that you can't open the windows, the loud fan that is always on (bring earplugs)
