• Eda (1/5): Will not advise to anyone. This account should be reported! - Has no value but the location The management who has no manners. The appartment feels super unsafe. There was someone knocking on the door 3 am in the morning. There was no toilet paper in the appartment and the bed is super old you can feel the bump.

La pièce de vie est très sombre sollicitant la lumière électrique très tôt. La propreté laisse à désirer. La seul placard à disposition est partiellement occupé et là encore manque de propreté. Aucune instruction précise pour l'usage du téléviseur, wifi etc. devant déranger systématiquement le gestionnaire (par ailleurs très aimable et disponible...)

• Anne (10/5): - Merci infiniment. Le propriétaire m'a donné toutes les informations nécessaires, moi qui effectuais mon premier séjour à Paris pour voir ma fille. L'appartement est exceptionnel et le prix est tout à fait abordable pour ce quartier. Tout est très propre. Merci encore pour ces deux jours inoubliables. Juste une petite amélioration : le jet du robinet de la cuisine.

• Niddam (6/5): Expérience légèrement décevante au coeur de paris - La localisation de l'appartement est parfaite. L'appartement ne dispose pas d'ascenseur et se trouve au 4eme étage, à savoir. La décoration et l'agencement de l'appartement sont agréable. L'appartement est au calme absolu. La salle de bain est bien, si ce n'est la porte coulissante ne garantissant aucune intimité, a savoir également. La réactivité, la communication et le contact avec les personnes responsable ne sont pas optimales (Messages non répondu puis questionnement). L'équipe ne semble pas à l'écoute, laisse juste un PDF avec les instructions, pas d'attitude bienveillante. L'énorme point faible de l'appartement est la literie et linge. Le matelas est absolument pas confortable, les nuits sont particulièrement difficiles. L'appartement est légèrement poussiéreux, surement du fait des meubles anciens et nombreux. Le robinet de la cuisine n'est pas fonctionnel car il manque le mousseur.

• Rosalind (8/5): We had a lovely time and the location was excellent, the stairs improved our fitness!!!! - Location was really good, not too far to the Metro and plenty of places to eat close by. Very difficult to find to start with, the bedding was a bit worn and the shower grout needs a thorough clean.

A limpeza do alojamento é muito deficiente. Pó em vários locais (toalheiro, máquina de lavar roupa, móvel da tv, atrás da tv e dos móveis). Não tinha torradeira e a cafeteira está velha e enferrujada e pouco limpa. Colchão precisa substituição. A torneira do lava-loiça quase não deita água (1 minuto para encher um copo de água)… O alojamento retém 300€ de taxa para qualquer dano (além da taxa de limpeza….) mas também devia manter o espaço e as comodidades/utensílios em boas condições! Não pode ser só cobrar e fazer exigências! É preciso corresponder em qualidade, muito mais quando o preço é aquilo que é.

De voordeur opent zeer moeizaam met de sleutel. Het Nespresso koffiezetapparaat loopt niet goed meer door, waarschijnlijk een goede ontkalking-beurt nodig De borg van 350€ ( te hoog ook naar mijn mening ) en de procedure die daarbij hoort vind ik vervelend en schept onzekerheid over het vervolg.

• Christophe (4/5): Logement correct mais mauvaise gestion du ménage - Le studio est très bien situé, à proximité immédiate de la rue Mouffetard. Les équipements sont corrects (à part le chauffage, difficile à régler en l'absence de notice). Le ménage n'avait pas été fait dans la salle de bain. Deux serviettes humides pendaient derrière la porte et la cuvette des toilettes présentait des traces... vous voyez de quoi... Inadmissible ! Après signalement (avec photos) auprès de la personne chargée du logement (aucun contact physique, tout par WhatsApp), la réponse reçue était du genre "ah oui, c'est pas bien, je ferai remonter l'information". La réponse appropriée aurait été : "excusez-nous, je vous envoie immédiatement quelqu'un pour faire le nettoyage". Très décevant !
• Merete (5/5): Det var et ok sted at overnatte, men dannede ikke nogen særlig hyggelig ramme om vores ophold i øvrigt. Kvarteret var su - Beliggenheden var fin i et godt kvarter med mange hyggelige caféer. Lejligheden lå på 4. sal, det måtte gerne have fremgået tydeligere i beskrivelsen. Der var ærlig talt noget dårligt rengjort - særlig på badeværelset.

• Daniel (9/5): Fin de semana romántico - La ubicación: el apartamento es muy acogedor y la calefacción funciona perfectamente, la ducha muy caliente, el barrio latino es increíble, sus comercios, sus cafeterías, la cercanía de varias líneas de metro,.... Tener cuidado con lo del deposito de garantía que piden antes de ir, a nosotros nos lo cobraron en cuanto dejamos el apartamento, al dia siguiente nos dijeron que rompimos una persiana, una persiana que no funcionaba a nuestra llegada y luego nos mandaron fotos de la persiana destroza diciendo que habíamos sido nosotros. Una vez que pasan el cargo no hay nada que hacer.

• Karl (8/5): Aussies felt welcome - The location was convenient to walking and train services. It was close to food, attractions and shopping. It had a lovely cosy feel that was well insulated from noise and the cold. It had a washer/ dryer that was very useful and access to Netflix etc. The Host Julien, was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The mattress was sagging and uncomfortable. The use of the television in the lounge room was overly complicated however Julien remedied the problem upon request . My husband found the bathroom very pokey and difficult to move in as he is a tall man.

• Santander Patiño (5/5): Estuvo bien - Es un espacio amplio y con buena ubicación Cuando se hace la reserva no decía que se necesitaba un depósito por daños y al llegar tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo por que no sabíamos de este requerimiento, hasta que el staff respondió para esta solicitud y solo hasta que logramos hacer el pago nos dieron las instrucciones para llegar al hotel, duramos casi 2 hora en el aeropuerto haciendo este proceso. No tuvieron en cuenta lo sucedido en el check in y fueron cero flexibles con el check out. Es un 4to piso sin ascensor, en mi caso que fui con maletas grandes porque pasó por varios países no fue cómodo

• Camilla (4/5): Motsvarar inte sitt pris. Omysig studio i trevligt kvarter. - Läget var bra, boendet finns i en fin och mysig del av Paris i Quartier Latin, nära Sorbonne-universitetet. Många studenter vistas följaktligen i området, vilket ger en ungdomlig och avslappnad prägel. På natten var det mycket festande på torget bredvid och gatan nedanför, med människor som skrålade fram på småtimmarna. Studion (det var en studio, inte en "superior" lägenhet) hade ingenting som gjorde den mysig. Möblerna var slitna och smutsiga, sängen var sliten och madrassen hade fläckar, kuddarna var knöliga. Lakanet var tvättat men inte rent. Ägaren vill tydligen inte lägga några pengar på att göra det välkomnande och fräscht. Badrummet var extremt litet och vi fick fyra små handdukar för två personer, varav bara en dusch-handduk. De tidigare gästernas våta handdukar låg kvar i badrummet när vi checkade in. Sammantaget hade vi en känsla av att den som hyr ut Cosy Cocoon-studion inte bryr sig om sina gästers trivsel, det som kommunicerades skriftligen från kontaktpersonen var endast regler, och studions inredning och faciliteter var nedgångna, för små och otillräckliga för att man skulle trivas.

Właściciel do ostatniej chwili nie podał adresu, kontakt był utrudniony, a klucze odbierano przez skrzynkę. Odmówił sprawnego wystawienia faktury VAT mimo licznych próśb. Zażądał kaucji, co odebrałam jako nacisk na brak negatywnej opinii. Naruszenie obowiązków informacyjnych (UOKiK).

L'hôte (Julien) était un homme grossier, mal élevé, il m'a carrément insulté dans une discussion sur la taxe de sèjour., car il m'avait envoyé un message (qu'il a supprimé quand je voulais vérifier auprès de Booking) disant que je devais payer 11,50 euros par personne et par nuit. (soit 69 euros). Voici un extrait du dialogue: "En fait vous lisez sans comprendre et le pire c’est que quand on vous dit que vous avez tord vous n’en démordez pas … vous êtes juste buté … Le raccrochage au nez est la seule et unique solution face aux gens butés inutile de perdre son temps … Apprenez à lire et si vous êtes amnésique consulter votre compte bancaire pr savoir combien vous avez payé … 477 euros et arrêter de soûler les gens pr 9 euros …"

The accommodation is as shown in photo. There are cooking facilities however we ate out each of the 4 nights at various cafes and restaurants minutes away.

• youenn (8/5): Super découverte de Paris. - L'emplacement était super, on est proche de tout (métro, magasin, le Panthéon,...). Il y absolument tout ce dont on a besoin pour bien se loger et tout était propre quand nous sommes arrivés. La fenêtre qui se ferme pas à cause de la climatisation était un point négatif la nuit car la rue en bas de l'appartement est très animée la nuit.

Das Bett ist bequem aber recht schmal für zwei ,die jeder 1 Matratze gewöhnt sind...man ist halt in Frankreich mit einer durchgehenden Matratze! Die vierte Etage ohne Fahrstuhl kann man nicht ändern, man weiss es und steigt langsam nach oben!

• Rebecca (7/5): I had a wonderful solo trip in Paris and felt very safe in the apartment. The communication with Julian and John-Baptist - This is a cute apartment which has all the basics for a stay in Paris, you will have the equipment you need to make a basic breakfast or meal. The bed was comfortable and the apartment block was safe and secure. The apartment was clean and tidy throughout. The apartment is situated in an excellent location. Great metro links and easy to walk to the river, Notre Dame, Shakespeare and Co, the Panthéon and Jardin des Luxembourg. The market for buying fresh fruit and vegetables and a supermarket are just round the corner. There are two boulangaries close to the apartment, both very nice. There are a variety of crepieres, cafes and restaurants as well. For people who like Hemingway or Emily in Paris, their apartments are two streets away. There is no bin only a bin bag, I couldn’t find any details for the WiFi. You will need to set up a potential payment for a security deposit after booking. This is not charged, only if you ruin the apartment will payment be taken. It’s not a problem and is easy to set up, however, it’s not mentioned on the booking page and initially was a bit of a shock. Not necessarily a negative, the apartment is in a very lively area. There will be music from the restaurant’s and live music at night, which was absolutely wonderful, I loved listening to the amazing saxophone player each night. However the music goes on until quite late as the restaurants are open until the early hours. Once the restaurants close cleaning of the area occurs with bin lorries and street sweepers (maintaining the beautiful area). The only really quiet times at night are between 2.30am and 5.30am. I sleep with noise cancelling headphones so this wasn’t too much of an issue for me, with the window closed there would be less noise. If you want a very quiet evening or have difficulty sleeping in noise this may not be the area for you.

• Nicola (7/5): Comfy stay in great location. Accomodation provided the basics. - We loved the proximity to central attractions and the local square. It was quiet and the bed and sofa were comfortable. We did not expect the security deposit requirement in case of damage, which caused unnecessary stress and anxiety. The password for the wifi had been changed and we were not informed. The kitchen had the very basic crockery etc. provisions. The bathroom was functional but the grout in the shower was very mouldy.

• Michael (9/5): Can definitely recommend! - The apartment is very nice and cozy. this was our second stay here. It’s relatively spacious and the amenities are great as well. I don’t understand the negative reviews about the internet—maybe it was different in the past, but it’s now very fast and stable. There was also no unpleasant smell at all. The apartment is starting to show its age a bit, and there are a few minor things that could use some renovation. However, I would say that this doesn’t negatively affect the stay.
• Wade (1/5): Very bad experience. - The location Broken facilities, shower taps not whole and broken, broken shower head holder, broken and missing toilet paper holder. Non functional aircon, signs of previous wood damage by the aircon, (they gave no proof of damage and took 350€/$670 deposit) when called, the staff were rude and aggressive towards us and still gave no proof of damage. Be very careful if staying with this company and take photos of everything! My opinion is they are a scam

• Josie (1/5): Bad - I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in many places around the world, so I fully understand that every destination has its own customs and rules. However, nothing prepared me for how disrespected I felt during my stay here. The lock on the apartment door was old and faulty from the start. We ended up locked out, and instead of receiving help, we were immediately blamed. The manager accused us of damaging the lock, told us we had “brutalized it,” and insisted we go out to buy WD-40 ourselves to fix it. Worse still, he threatened to make us pay 300 euros for a locksmith if we didn’t “collaborate” — an absurd and unfair demand for something that was clearly a maintenance issue. The way he communicated with us, both in writing and on the phone, was aggressive, condescending, and completely unprofessional. We eventually resolved the issue ourselves, but the experience left us stressed, uncomfortable, and frankly shocked. No guest should ever be treated this way. This was one of the worst host experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. I strongly advise others to avoid this place — it’s not worth the risk or the disrespect.

• Chez (4/5): We enjoyed the location of the apartment. The contact person (via WhatsApp) was very helpful and professional. - The location is good, close to Metro and RER. Also easily walkable to nearly all the City attractions. Good restaurants very near by. We only found after we booked, that it was on the fourth floor (steep stairs!!). That was our fault for not reading the reviews. The payment for the entire stay was taken mid November, for our stay in mid-January! We only found out a few days before our arrival that the owner was holding a E350 deposit on my account, which would only be cleared on satisfactory inspection after we vacated the property! The cleanliness was very much below standard. Dust and hairs on the floors and skirtings. The main image in the photos (bedroom, with white walls and timber beams) is NOT what you get. The towels are old and did not seem freshly laundered ie I think they had not been washed!!! There is no rubbish bin/receptacle in the kitchen or bathroom. The shower is mouldy- although the water supply is good, and hot. The kitchen appliances are ok, and apart from the bottom shelf on the door being cracked m, the fridge worked well. The cutlery, plates, glasses and cups/mugs are mismatched and very poor quality.

• Sarah (8/5): Pleasant - Cosycocoon is nestled in a really neat part of the City. We had the place to ourselves and even had access to a washing machine. It needs a more comfy mattress and some bleach in the grout in the bathroom. I knew it was a walk up, so stairs were no surprise, but they were a killer!!!
• Catherine (5/5): Nice location but not very clean - The location was good Not very clean and for a 10 day stay I had to request clean towels, check in was complicated and I had to take photos of the place for deposit a bit difficult after a 15 hour flight, very noisy on Thursday through to Sunday evenings. TV guide out dated. I would suggest to book the room with the beams as you don't have access to a washing machine in the smaller room

The apartment and the building itself are a little dated. The Wi-fi was so slow that was unusable for us. We also couldn't watch anything on TV because of the slow internet.

But also much quieter than some other neighbourhoods. Like others mentioned, it needs a good cleaning pretty badly. Maybe a coat of paint? TV cable box was not working but as the caretaker said: we never came to Paris to watch tv so I guess I didn’t matter anyway.

On arrival the room was very dirty with crumbs everywhere and coffee marks on tables. When speaking with the manager he was very unpleasant about our concerns and told us to go out so it could get cleaned- the bed was still filthy we ended up buying new bed sheets and cushion covers so we were not sleeping in a bed covered in stains. We were provided with half a toilet roll and had to buy more.
• Tracey (1/5): Worst experience ever apartment 4 Rue Blainville 75 005 Paris - Anything good like location of accom was ruined by finding owner in our accommodation on our return from sightseeing. Worst experience ever returning to apartment accommodation 4 Rue Blainville 75 005 Paris to find the owner Julien in our accommodation changing his clothes. We complained to booking.com of this incident and the owner then made a false accusation we had damaged his tv and took a 350 euro security deposit for a damaged tv. We've complained to booking.com and little action taken other than informing us owner denied being there and providing a photo of a broken tv,the TV is not from the apartment. We travel a lot and always take photos on arrival & prior to exit,I have photos of both julien in our apartment and time stamped photos of accommodation on arrival and prior to exit with no damage to TV's. Manager of apartment by name JB unhelpful, We booked the apartment as we wanted to use a washing machine as we have been travelling for 6 weeks,all other accommodation with booking.com has been hassle free but returning to find someone amongst your personal belongings and then in retaliation make fraudulent claims is distressing.

• Geoffrey (7/5): Appartment suited my requiements but could do with a freshen up. - Location was ideal for me with close access to Metro Line 10 (Cardinal Lemoine). There were plenty of dining options available ranging from casual cafe-type dining to restaurants. Apartment is in a secure block, code access is required to access the building. While there was plenty of activity outside around Place de la Contrascarpe nightly, the apartment block was very quiet while I was there. Access to the apartment is only via stairs and the apartment is on level 4. The apartment suited me but could do with a freshen up and some updating.
• Deanna (8/5): Nice place to spend our time at the end of the day. - It was nice and clean. Had everything we needed. The stairs, and the bed was a little too hard for me.
• Maureen (7/5): Great location, close to food options, price reasonable No lift is on 4th floor ok for travelling light without heavy - Location great plenty of food options close by close to quite a few main attractions ie Pantheon, Notre Dame and 30 min walk to Lourve which was great. Close to metro station. Only 2 small square pillows on bed a great addition would be an offering of regular sized pillows and spare pillows as many people sleep with more than one pillow. Mould in the shower on ceiling and small scattering of mould in shower grout. Bedside lamps shades need replacing they are old very worn. Bathroom heater we could not get to work at all. Table quite scratched could do with a new coat of paint. Walls and ceilings have lots of cracks could do with them being filled and repainted. Very late receiving the actual address of the unit the address on booking.com is not the exact address and we were already in the uber using the address on the website and were unable to locate due to the address not matching the site.

• Emily (7/5): Great location and bare essentials for a short stay in Paris - Great location, comfy bed, decent size room which fit a lounge and tv, and a small kitchen and fridge was handy No aircon wasn’t great in summer, nor elevator (though this is advertised). Shower and bathroom are quite small and the apartment is a tad run down.
• Nimit (6/5): Great Location but Less Comfort. - The Property is Located at an excellent Proximity from Public Transport, Cafes, & Tourist Sites. The Property is quite small as compared to what is shown in the Pictures. Only initial few pictures represent the Property we stayed in. There is no Specific Luggage area as shown in the Pictures. On a subjective note, overall the Property is not very comfortable where you can actually rest and recharge for the next day. The Property can actually be less conservative and add Laundry Services where they already have a washing machine on site.

• Ahoo (1/5): Horrible stay - None The worst hospitality experience of my life. The apartment is on the 4th floor without an elevator and narrow steps. The sheets, towels and blanket stank and I asked Julien to replace them and he responded “you’re crazy”. He was very hostile and threatening in his communication and the overall experience was completely unfair and awful. There is no AC and the building is in a crowded neighborhood so leaving the windows open for air made it very difficult to sleep. Overall the property is very old and is a very below the average interior. Not worth even a third of its price.
• Mirella (4/5): Wouldn’t stay here again, too expensive for what you get - It was close to restaurants It did not depict the photos displayed on booking.con It looks as though it needs a good scrub in all areas Along with a fresh coat of paint Bathroom so tiny it is easy to knock toilet roll holder They require a credit card holding security, something that has not been asked by anyone else where accomodation was exceptional . The fridge door shelving was dirty, it was a turn off placing even plastic water bottles in there. The communication received was to keep quite after 10pm which want a problem yet other patrons or residents made quite a lot of noise. The stairwell stunk like urine, not sure what is being used to wash the stairs. Also apartment located on 4th floor. It more like 5th floor as the first lot of steps are not counted. Carrying suitcases very hard il flights of stairs
• Franziska (8/5): Very good - Nice compact apartment. Just the right size for two. Right in the middle of a bustling neighbourhood. Good transport links within 5-10 minute walk. Lots of restaurants nearby and a lovely botanic garden. No noise from other apartments. The apartment is on the fourth floor with no lift. Could be a struggle for people with mobility issues. Because of all the restaurants and bars, the road is quite noisy at night time.
• Janine (8/5): Great location, but everything else about it was terrible. - The location was great. When they advertise the property they need to inform you it’s the 4th floor with no elevator available. The shower had other peoples hair on the walls and floor. The shower curtain was full of mould. The tiles where the shower curtain sits were also filthy. Not sure how long it hasn’t been properly cleaned for. The mattress on the bed was old and sunk in the centre. The pillows were old and only one very soft pillow each. The owner has a camera on the wall facing the front door, this is a pure breach of privacy. I would not recommend this accomodation. This place needs a coat of paint and a revamp for the price he charges.
• Georgie (10/5): Location, Location,Location - The area is fun, vibrant and full of great places to eat and drink. The accommodation is everything we expected. Cosy and clean with all we needed for our 4 night stay. The original features and furnishings are very sweet and the hosts make sure there are enough plugs and extentions for the modern traveller. Yes, it is up 4 flights of stairs, but you know what when you read the reviews 🙂 Recommend! Nothing, was exactly as advertised and as we expected.
• Leila (4/5): Lovely host, overall we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment - Good communication with the host on how to enter the property, kitchen in the room. The room was not very clean, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the ceiling had large cracks which felt/looked like it was about to cave in. There is no elevator and the apartment is on the 4th floor, would not have booked if I knew that earlier.
• Peeters (8/5): The Paris of our dreams - The surrounding area is amazing. We had alot of fun meeting the students at the surrounding bars. There's alot of restaurants in the area, some of them a bit fast foody, but there are also smaller Sicilian restaurants and Japanese bakeries which were amazing! There's also alot of history nearby, which gives that magical Parisian vibe of being able to experience Paris like it was in '68. We checked the bed for bedbugs and we were happy to notice how clean it was! The mattress is also really comfy, so we slept like roses! There's also towels, a waterboiler, some coffee, glasses for aperitifs, which is incredibly thoughtful! We were also a bit intimated by all the people mentioning the stairs. As backpackers, we're happy to say this was not a problem for us. The hallway is beautiful and brought back some childhood memories of spending the Summer on a farm in Normandy. The view of the garden and the surrounding houses is totally worth it. We loved the accommodation and were happy to be able to watch Nadal play at Roland Garros on the television, however we would like to point out that the room requires some TLC and hygienic maintenance. If these minor things get sorted out, this accommodation is simply perfect! Despite the few blemishes, we will likely book this room again for our future trips to Paris.

• Jillian (10/5): Love love love this cosy little spot. Will recommend to our friends! - It felt like we had our own little cosy apartment in Paris. We absolutely loved it. The location was superb. An easy walk to so many restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and the Seine and all of the inner city things to see and do, plus shopping in St Germain de Prés. Metros in easy walking distance. We can’t think of anything we didn’t love, except the first day carrying suitcases up the stairs but that is normal in Paris and means you are up for a gorgeous view when you get there, and it delivered!
