• MAITANE (1/5): Simply horrible - The swimming pool The only hostel in my life I’ve run away from. Not even because the bathrooms are extremely dirty, always smell like pee, and I won’t shower without my flip flops — I’ve spent 6 months traveling in Asia, including 3 months in India, always in cheap hostels and homstays. I’m not a fancy person. I’ve seen things. But here it’s simply disgusting. Not even because the “capsule beds” are thin as air and the curtains are basically transparent in a mixed dorm — with 2 cameras, by the way. As a woman, this feels extremely uncomfortable. But because the vibe of this hostel is so completely off. You feel the staff trying to scam you every two seconds for everything, even for a simple croissant — it’s absurd. They always laugh when I walk by, and I can see the faces of the women on staff looking a bit sad and concerned. They always speak to me or answer me in an arrogant, condescending way. If white women aren’t welcome, that’s totally fair — I can genuinely understand local frustration towards mass tourism — but just specify that on the booking apps and don’t take our money. The only people kind enough were the two women at the cafeteria. They also moved my clothes and a bag without saying anything, and when I asked, it took them two hours to let me know someone else had put them in the bathroom. There’s nowhere to dry your towels or bikini — it’s apparently forbidden in your room, so they want you to use a crowded bar in the bathroom, which is extremely wet and humid all the time and smells awful. The only good thing is the swimming pool, but honestly it’s not worth it. Everything else really sucks.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

• KYLE (5/5): Be warmed there’s cameras in your room and they refuse to be helpful - Pool on roof Closed bar , dirty bathrooms with no toilet paper or hot water a lot of times. Was shocked to see there is cameras in your room and when confronted, the staff say your told on the day - which gives you no time to reconsider or cancel within the policy. Very untrustworthy, my friends left there jacket there and on his return the staff were wearing it!!!!

• Johanna (8/5): - The location is amazing. The beds are great and simple. Loved the cabin vibe. Also the pool on the roof is great with ocean view. On first floor you could only use one shower and there was no water bum gun or toilet paper available.

• Willow (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best pod hostels I’ve stayed in. Very clean and spacious. Nice to have a little table in the pod. Great location as everything you need is right there including their cafe below. Staff were so lovely and friendly every time I saw them.
• Komal (10/5): It’s cute, safe, clean, value for money, need some upgrades but worth living - Staff is SWEEETTTT… it’s in venter of everything, inside hyped market, restaurants are close, beach is 3 min walk, food is downstairs, all shops are nearby, no issue to find bike bike bike, pickup and drop off is easy, food delist available , 24/7 concierge, food n stay is good all together. Shower need upgrades and lil fixing , must provide proper tiny kitchen - it needs to be upgraded, its no refund place for some reason. Must have safety checks in rooms as some people get too high n drunk and cause trouble.

• Jena (5/5): Passable - staff were very kind and helpful!! no place to get changed, took a shower and changed in the shower room. The bathroom/shower room was open to the hallway so no privacy at all which was unconfortble. A closed door or curtains would have provided more privacy after a shower/toilet/getting dressed. I changed in the shower room which was difficult as there wasnt a place to hold my dry clothes (clothes got wet from shower).

• Skye (6/5): The rooftop pool is a win - Great location. Pool was awesome and a nice view from the roof. Air conditioning was perfection. Bed was comfortable and there was good lockers. It was good. I really missed having a chill out area, like lounges or a couch, just a common space. The rooftop with the pool was great! But it got super hot because there was no shade up there at all.

• Noé (8/5): Great value for money - Bed’s are extremely comfortable, bathrooms decent enough and the staff are lovely and very helpful. Only thing is that when people don’t properly shut the dorm room the lock keeps beeping, can be annoying, maybe put up a sign or something.
• Cameron (8/5): Solo Trip - The beds were clean, the lockers were big enough and the staff were always helpful. The room was quiet, lighting optimal. The beds have a little desk and you can put smaller things behind it as you fold it up which is great. There is a power socket right next to the pillow, the strip light makes a nice addition and the curtain, although slightly seethru when the light is on, i didn't notice any less privacy.

• Karina (4/5): Not recommended - - location - the quite wide capsule bed - the broken elevator and bathroom door, they never fix it for a month my stay here - the room was noisier than i thought, one of them is the guy that placed in the same room with me who named abraham from sulawesi always noisy and speak loudly - the floor at the bathroom is always slippery and even flooded by a lot of water - the locker was always hard to pull it out, especially to open - the curtain was too open even if you close it very well, but if you switch the light on, people that enter the room will able to see what you’re doing inside the bed - the plug in the bed was too loose, so it’s always make my charger got released suddenly from the plug - they don’t provide the bowl, but they not allowed us to borrow it from the cafe either - only 1 staff that quite helpful there

So sparse and unattractive • the bathroom floor was flooded as soon as you walked into the area. • there was one usable shower to cater for a 12 bed dormitory and a two bed dormitory. The second shower had no door or curtain. •one of the three handbasin wasn't able to be used • the bathroom entry door was off. •the bright light outside the glass dormitory door was on all night.

Don’t expect it to be lively Everything is broken - elevator (there’s 6 floors fyi)/ showers/ toilets - none of which were fixed over the 3 days I was here. One full bathroom on one of the floors was completely out of service. Air con drips loads Very unclean. Mould in bathroom. Drains all blocked in showers. Bathroom floor constantly wet. Bedroom floors sticky from the moment we arrived - probs due to people walking from the bathroom to the bedrooms. Extremely noisy area - karaoke bar goes on all day and through to the very very early hours and rooms aren’t Remotely soundproof from the outdoors. Also another club or something playing the same terrible beat 24/7 keeps you up, even with ear plugs in. Not a social hostel Cafe is awful and a rip off. Upon checkin we arrived an hour early - they wouldn’t even let us go and sit up on the rooftop while we waited. Total rip off for what it is - should be about £4 a night at most. They even ripped my friends off when they extended by one day (purely because we all got food poisoning). Charged them the ‘new years’ prices despite these expiring two days before. Way cheaper if you turn up and pay rather than use booking.com, but they won’t do anything about this when you mention it. All round terrible in every way, do not do it to yourself

• Carly (10/5): Modern, clean, value for money capsule hostel - Borough Hostel is located close to the beach in Legian in a convenient location 20 mins from the airport and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Really good value for money and central location for the busy Seminyak, Legian, Kuta area The double capsule was really comfortable and the room has AC, I slept great. Generous sized locker for your bag or valuables and a basic bathroom shared between the room. Pool and outdoor area on the roof is basic but nice! The cafe downstairs is great for coffee and breaky Staff were very kind, welcoming and hospitable Would stay again!! I didn’t have any hot water which wasn’t actually an issue given the temperature but may be for some people

The overwhelming smell from the moth balls (naphalene) scattered throughout the property: stairwells, toilet drains, shower drains is so toxic & strong. It’s unavoidable.

• Joana (2/5): One of the worst hostels I stayed besides the bed - The only thing ok was the bed First of all, though they alert some of the clients but not all of them the rooms have cctv so you can’t be “comfortable” there. The bathroom are never look clean and I doubt they are. The smell in all the hostel is horrible with so many of those mothballs they put everywhere. All the hostel needs maintenance ASAP. One of the reasons I book this hostel was because of the pool. When o saw the pool I wanted to vomit. At the entrance every night the people there was very “questionable” always offering you “something”
• Laura (1/5): TERRIBLE PLACE. - TERRIBLE PLACE Only the location that was good as it was close to restaurants and beach. AC worked. Probably the worst hostel in Bali, Booking.com rated as 7.7 star We booked trusting on the score and it was a lie. NOT CLEANED! Disgusting facilities, smelly room, filthy bathroom it seemed and smelled like it wasn't cleaned for over a month. 🤢🤮 The "blind" for the bed was broken, they put us on a bed that wasn't even cleaned, full of ants and hair. Mould on the ceilings and walls, no windows in the facilities. Locker in the rooms was supposed to be safe and it wasn't!! Our locker was opend without our consent, while we were asleep and they put other people's stuff inside of it with our belongings. NO CARPARK. As Carpark is on the street where the scooter will be jammed by others and moved around by them subject to scratches and dents.😤 NO SWIMMING POOL as swimming pool looked like a swamp.

It is under contruction and that area is totally closed. So there was no pool no rooftop no any common area to hang out so no vibe or chance to meet people.

• Fynnlee (1/5): Don’t recommend unless you don’t sleep, would not return to the hostel or the area. - The staff at the coffee shop downstairs were friendly The rooms are dirty, noisy and chaotic. A lot of people who stay there, live there while they are working and you cannot get any sleep. The place is not clean, the showers and toilets are unsanitary and once the cleaner has cleaned the place smells extremely bad like raw flesh. The lift was also broken during our entire stay which was 8 nights but cut short due to how bad the experience was for us.
