Our worst holiday ex - It was clean but not 5 star Rooms were very small, there too many half dead plants everywhere preventing you from getting sun around the pool and preventing you getting daylight on your balcony. The restaurant manager was very disrespectful and gave her personal details & number to my partner.

Nothing to dislike really. The surrounding area is a little quiet, but the likes of Baja and Porto Cervo are only an uber ride away if you want some more action. I’d recommend hiring a car to explore the surroundings.

- Alessandro (6/5): Un 4 stelle, lontano da essere un 5 stelle, mancano troppi servizi, ma troppi eh... - lo staff delle pulizie, brave e miniziose nel pulire la camera sono tante le cose che non mi sono piaciute, in ordine: - non ho mai sentito di un 5 stelle che fa pagare il percorso della Spa, e non ho mai visto una Spa senza idromassaggio o comunque una piscina riscaldata o qualcosa di simile. - non ho mai visto un 5 stelle con la Spa "spenta" a meno che non ci si prenoti, ed anche quando ho prenotato, non sono stati in gradi di farmi fare il percorso, volevo farlo martedì, me l'hanno fatto fare di mercoledì... - ho fatto un massaggio di 50min con la mia fidanzata, 250€ in totale, forse un po' troppo - la colazione, mai sentito un 5 stelle che fa pagare i pancake, ebbene io li ho pagati... di solito fanno parte della colazione come minimo... non voglio esagerare perche' sembra che voglio accanirmi, ma di sicuro un 4 stelle, lontano da essere un 5 stelle.

The manager greeted us everyday. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The spa was beautiful and the massages were amazing. Highly recommend this hotel. We loved everything about it

- Steven (9/5): In dit heerlijke hotel kom je echt tot rust - Heel goed ontbijt voor Italiaanse standaarden, erg veel keuze. Een ontspannen, rustige sfeer in het hotel, met fijn personeel die een stapje extra voor je zetten. Zo maken ze met liefde reserveringen bij restaurants, boeken ze tourtjes voor je en bieden ze gratis valet parking aan voor je huurauto. De faciliteiten zijn ook mooi, vooral de Spa. Dit is echt een hotel waar je tot rust komt.

- Savannah (7/5): Good - I didn’t see this mentioned when I booked this your taxi from the airport (Olbia) is 100-150€ with no cheaper transfer options this had me in a bad mood when I arrived as I was not expecting this for a 39 minute drive We were welcomed and our luggage was taken off us and brought to our room and led to outside and given welcome drinks (tropical fruit juice) this was nice but felt slightly disjointed I would have like someone to come back out to us to give us our room key (we had to go back into reception for this *perhaps we were impatient*) and offer us information about the local amenities. The best thing about the hotel is you don’t have to leave it if you don’t want to. The outdoor pool area is lovely. I love the draping decor. Their unique selling point is the beach club Bruno is great it was a gorge day with nice beds but no toilet (one nearby which was a hole in the ground) and food and most drinks are brought from the hotel so expect to wait around 30mins. Breakfast had lots of allergen options and they were really accommodating with food. I found food/drink expensive 16€ for a cocktail and 20€+ for a salad and you had to pay to use the thermal suit which I felt could have been included. This hotel is not adults only I had the privilege of staying beside the only kids in the resort every morning I heard their little shoes running on the tiles. House keeping staff never stopped and the hotel was so clean and tidy. We got the cheapest room which had views into the carpark so consider upgrading if this would annoy you. We would have liked water in the room we needed to buy this in the supermarket and carry it up. Cannigione in a cute town 5-10 min walk away with lots of restaurant options In short it was a lovely boutique hotel I would stay in again. I know it’s only open five years and I’m sure has exciting extension plans

Perfect if you are looking for somewhere a little smaller, exclusive and with great food! - We booked this hotel following an incredible wedding in Italy, excited to begin our honeymoon in beautiful Sardinia. While our arrival was slightly disappointing—especially as we had requested something special to be left in our room, which was unfortunately overlooked—it didn’t overshadow the rest of our stay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. A special thank you to Sabina, whose friendly and personal approach really stood out and made us feel especially valued.

Loved the beach bag that could be used and you could use beach towels everyday (even when not using private beaches!) - Staff were so helpful; we had an issue with our rental car and they helped to call mechanics to discuss! So grateful! - Lovely decor around the property and pool area - For a 5* hotel the spa facilities and breakfast felt quite underwhelming - I feel we have had better elsewhere where it wasn’t 5*! We felt the spa could have had a jacuzzi. - That you couldn’t bring your own drinks or snacks into the room, complimentary water daily would be a nice touch.

The rooms were cleaned well every day. The property should not have a 5 star rating. For what we paid I don’t think we got what we should have gotten. The hotel was nice, but not amazing at all. Location was fair.

There is a small town you can walk to with beautiful coastal views where you can charter a boat for the day (a must do!). The staff was very friendly. Clean, pretty hotel. If you’re looking to just relax and do nothing, this is the place. No views, no bar, too quiet, boring.

- Courtenay (5/5): Fine but I don’t know how it got a 5 star rating - No iron provided we had to pay 55 euros to have two dresses and a shirt/trousers ironed. Other clothes remained wrinkled for our stay. You do not expect this from a 5 star hotel. No shampoo/conditioner in room which was fine but unusual. On the way in we had to sign something to say you were not allowed snacks from outside the hotel in your room, again very odd. Beach and deck required a shuttle service which was our own fault for not researching but quite inconvenient to have to wait for shuttles there and back. Hotel generally seems quite dated and smelled very strongly of the kitchen.

We loved our stay in this hotel, the staff are very attentive, the food is excellent both at the breakfast buffet and the dinner restaurant with a varied menu. Shuttle service to the private beach every 30 minutes. A top-class hotel that richly deserves its 5 stars. Special mention for the maître d' hôtel who speak french very well , very kind and attentive , who is INCREDIBLE. He made all the difference! We recommand it Nothing all was very perfect
- Ieva (6/5): Average - The room cleaning was fine, but there was often a sewage smell in the room. Most of the staff provided poor service, some were rude and had limited English proficiency. We were surprised that we had to pay for even the smallest amenities, such as borrowing an iron, and ironing a single shirt cost nearly as much as buying a new one. They even refused to bring water to the room without charging €15. If we wanted to do laundry for 20 items, it would cost around €500, which is unheard of in a 5-star hotel anywhere else in the world, where such services are either free or minimally charged. Given the high room rates, this is unacceptable. When we told them that such monetization is unheard of all they could tell us is that such are our policies, we can’t do anything about it. What are these policies - the law or the holy scripture? Such policies provide zero hospitality for the guests, the helpfullness is non-existent, for a 5 star hotel this is unacceptable. Anything we ask for - you have to pay or won’t get it, even the simplest things. Not worth going to - this hotel. The breakfast was tasty but repetitive, with only tomatoes as a vegetable option and no healthier alternatives like porridge or salads. Even though it was written in the description, we only look at the pictures when choosing a hotel and in there it was not obvious that the beach is 4 km away and sea deck 800 meters - so this is quite uncomfortable and should be empasized stronger, so make sure to take this into consideration when choosing this hotel. Of course, they have a driving service, that can drive you to the beach, which surprisingly, is free of charge and even cleaning is free of charge! Weird, right?

Little bit pretentious could do with some music or vibes but nice guests overall. We were so disappointed and upset with staff at the front desk who were terribly rude and cold. They smiled and listened but came with bad energy. I always felt like I was asking for too much even when my partner had food poisoning. There was an older woman who was lovely and so helpful as well as Mario, the best most kindest waiter! And another lady in the restaurant. But overall, the two other younger receptionists treated us like we didn’t deserve to be there. Not sure if it’s because we have British accents or were in our 20s but I did not feel welcome or warmed by them. Very upsetting for a 5 star. Also TV was old.

I did control all the comments before I choose the hotel and it was little bit suspicious for me because of the comments, but I had completely different experience. They are so welcoming so nice. Everything in a hotel is very cool. Very comfortable great place for couples. I’ve been there alone, but everybody almost work couples.. Most people were young couples, honey moon couples etc. Cleaning is great. They clean your room regularly every day and also before you go to sleep they are even opening your bed and changing your towels that you used during the day. Food was good , breakfast is absolutely great unexpectedly. There is ofcourse alacarte menu but personally i didnt even felt like i need anything. Its great large buffet. There is a restaurant for lunch and dinner prices are not that high as it described in earlier comments. They even cook what you want if you tell them day before. I never even eat outside, all 7 days lunch and dinner was from hotel. Personally i enjoyed, it was good taste. But you might get bored after a while to eat at the same place your breakfast lunch and dinner. that’s why I absolutely recommend to try other options close to Otel if you’re not planning to rent a car you don’t have to because they offering you every day free drive from hotel to Seaside, which is also privately for hotel guests. Another option there is a deck you can also sea side. All in all, I think it was a great experience. Everyone in reception in restaurant and enterance was very coming, so helpful. As a traveler been in Olbia area 2nd time, this hotel was great compared to my other 5 star experience I don’t have anything to point as I didn’t like. Only the thing can be they don’t have any place to hang out like a bar in the night which you might expect for a five star hotel. I plan to come over again with friends

- Steph (9/5): Fabulous hotel with a few areas for improvement - Aesthetically, this hotel is stunning! From the lounging areas to the rooms, everything was immaculate. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we had huge windows that opened up to a beautiful garden view. The hotel provided toiletries, robes, slippers, hair dryers, and more. The pool area was gorgeous, and we always managed to find a lounger. A complimentary shuttle ran every half hour to the private beach and swim platform, both of which were lovely, though we personally preferred the swim platform. Cannigione is a delightful area with plenty of restaurants to choose from. It’s also a great base for exploring; I recommend renting a car, but there is also a local bus that runs to Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo. The spa treatments were fantastic and very relaxing, though be sure to book in advance to secure your preferred time slot. There are a few areas for improvement at this hotel. Firstly, the cost of drinks was outrageous: 10 euros for a beer and 8 euros for a Coke Zero. The hotel has a strict policy against bringing any outside food or drink into the hotel, even in your room, which was quite surprising. Although the spa treatments were excellent, there was an additional charge of 25 euros per person to use the sauna and Turkish bath area. This seemed steep, especially since there was no pool or hot tub in this area. Breakfast could definitely be improved; while they offered a hot and cold buffet, the selection was limited. There were optional extras like eggs Benedict and omelets, but these came at an additional cost and were overpriced.

- Fionnuala (9/5): Beautiful hotel, lovely room, friendly and helpful staff, great location. - The hotel is absolutely beautiful, situated in the lovely Cannigione, where there are loads of lovely restaurants and bars, and gorgeous sea views. The staff at Grand Hotel were absolutely lovely, and couldn’t be more helpful. The younger female receptionist, whose name I sadly can’t recall, was particularly brilliant! The pool and beaches are fantastic, and perfect for a day of relaxing with drinks (bar at the beach too). The restaurant food was delicious. It’s a little pricey but the quality of the food is excellent and the wait staff were so friendly. Breakfast was lovely to have outside by the pool, and the selection of pastries and cakes is out of this world! The gym was great and well equipped, with a lovely view We also loved that, because the hotel is quite small, it feels less busy and chaotic, and more personal. We had a great time at Grand Hotel, but there were a few things that could be improved on: - One of the lifeguards at the pool was quite irritating; he woke me up from a pool side nap to check my room number, which was bizarre? - the Breakfast selection is fab, but the hot food could be hotter and more varied. - There are quite a few add ons, such as ironing service (you can’t ask for an iron to the room, but you can pay for a service which is quite pricey - we saw this from other reviews and brought a steamer with us). - absolutely no food or outside drinks inside the room (other than water) seems a little harsh… especially if you have dietary or health requirements. We’ve not experienced such strict rules at a hotel before. - we had a couples massage, but there was only one masseuse… although the massage itself was very good, it would have been better to have it together, as is usual with a couples massage. - although there are loads of photos of hot tubs on their site and on booking.com, they are only for the suites and there is not hot tub / jacuzzi available for guests

The staff were all super attentive, helpful and friendly. the breakfast buffet each morning was incredible with an entire room full of tables and tables of food. Hot food, an entire crossaint table, etc. The hotel's location was amazing. We could walk to many different restaurants in town, and walk to a little grocery store to get water, etc. We could walk to the hotel's swim platform (5 mins) and took the shuttle to the very beautiful private beach area. Ordering drinks at each of their waterfront spots was very easy. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was quiet with mainly couples and older travelers. There were some babies but otherwise very quiet. The pool is small but pretty area. I wouldn't recommend rambuncous kids and familes here as the restaurant is essentially on the pool deck. It is best suited for couples, friends, etc with no kids. I can't think of anything we didn't like!

- Veton (7/5): Mai 2024 - The hotel is very clean and you feel confortable by this. The houskeeping staff is doing great job and they where very friendly, that is not usual in hotels. The pool are and the restaurant gives nice vibe. You can have a nice breakfast, however the additional services such as pancakes and omlet are extra of charge, which should not be the case in a 5 - star hotel. So it is more 4 - star hotel breakfast. The prices of drinks and food are exagerated, even if you compare with other restaurants. The prices are only comparable with the best restaurants in porto cervo. They would charge you 6€ for 0.5l and 10€ for a bier on the deck ( the platform where you could swim) but on the contrary if you had to go the the toilet you would need to take a shuttel and go back to your room. So the prices with the infrastructure are not comparable. The cocktails are also around 20ish and to have a nice dinner with Wine would be around 200€. For a hotel restauraunt around a pool without a view and nothing special is to expensive. We did not have the chance to see the beach as it was not open yet. It would have been nice if we would know that upfront. As the deck is nice but you would have to swim in a place with stones and all the beaches are much better than that.

Definitely - The location was good, only 5 minutes from the sea and not far from local shops and restaurants. Apart from an array of traditional cakes, not commonly eaten for breakfast, the breakfast was limited. The food and beverages were overpriced in my opinion even for a five star hotel, €8 for a coke, €14 for a beer and more for spirits! The gym had limited equipment which meant I couldn’t always use it for a proper workout.

Tasteful, relaxing pool area where lunch/snacks/drinks are available from the restaurant. Restaurant has an impressive evening menu and wine list - delicious, but a little pricey, even for the area. Great location - a short walk from Cannigione and its port/beach where there are several excellent restaurants/bars offering a wide choice of menus at reasonable prices. Staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Very professional service all round. The hotel has its own decking area by the sea, a short distance away, and a private beach a short drive away. A regular courtesy bus service is provided, and it worked well. Easy parking on site is an added bonus if you are hiring a car to explore the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend as a base for visiting the key sites and towns of the Smeralda Coast.

- Surinder (10/5): A very pleasant stay at this charming, quiet hotel and one designed to 're-charge our batteries' - I think we came to the conclusion we liked nearly everything, including location, the style of the hotel, how it was well-kept and exemplary in nature. A particular mention must go to the reception staff for being pleasant and approachable as well as being patient (we had problems with our Mastercard initially and remembering the PIN etc etc - the staff were very patient with us!). The breakfasts were excellent - lovely location, standard of food very good and the selection great. We're not sure about this...just because the majority of everything was great (please read through our review above). If we were churlish we would say something about the price of the food/drinks for lunch/dinner but think this comes with the territory (it is a 5-star hotel!).
