Nice garden view over neighbours garden from bedroom. Optional Netflix. Well equipped. Good communication from hosts though we didn’t meet them. Street parking close by. The open wooden staircase would benefit from anti slip strips.

- Anthony (6/5): Beautifully located and refurbished cottage let down horribly by poor quality equipment. - The location just off KIrkcudbright's historic High Street was first rate, albeit parking on arrival on a wet Friday evening was not straightforward. The layout of this mews-style refurbished cottage was good, and both the kitchen and the bathroom were thoroughly modern. Good water pressure in shower. The property was cool on arrival, but soon warmed up using the intuitive Nest control panel. We were extremely disappointed and upset to find that the property had not been cleaned for our arrival (wet towels on bathroom floor, unmade bed with soiled linen, faeces in WC, smeared and sticky kitchen cupboard doors). We contacted the hosts, who were responsive. The property was cleaned that evening and ready for use within two hours. Furthermore, financial compensation was offered and accepted. As the property was designed for longer staycations rather then overnight stopovers, the quality of the linen and towels seemed inappropriately poor. We were provided with just one hand towel for the two of us, and only one small, thin bath towel each. Meanwhile, the cutlery, crockery and kitchen equipment were all disappointingly low-budget. The exterior light at the front door did not work, making access after dark challenging.
- Julian (10/5): Lovely stay in a lovely town. - This was a perfect quiet cozy stop, hidden away in the heart of the town. Although only a 1 bed property it was a good size and not cramped. Nothing significant for this section, but make sure you have a phone/torch if arriving after dark.
