Guest Reviews
- Doreen (10/5): Perfection in Darley - Well equipped, warm, cozy, comfortable furniture, lovely beds, loads of towels, lots of information on local attractions. Games, jigsaws, books. Perfect location with parking outside the front door. Ideally placed to visit Harrogate and local walks. Couldn't name a thing
- debra (9/5): Excellent cozy cottage in a lovely village with very helpful & responsive host - Lovely cozy cottage in a lovely village well located very comfy beds good quality linens and a very helpful & responsive host..Very clean & well maintained Good Wi-Fi. Excellent food at local pub The Wellington Just a shame there is little outside space for enjoying the views outside on an evening but can’t be improved as backs onto farm buildings
- gillian (10/5): Most relaxing 2 night stay - For us the location was perfect. A good base for touring the area. A local shop for basic needs and an excellent pub for an evening meal both a short walk away. The stairs are very steep but wouldn’t be a problem for most people. We found them a bit difficult due to our age.
- susan (10/5): - Beautiful clean comfy home . Had everything you need . Great home from home. Beds and bedding fantastic. Not applicable
- Charlotte (8/5): Lovely, cosy, and spotlessly clean Cloggers Cottage with a lovely host. - A lovely cottage to stay and the host Mark was very accommodating, even meeting us at the property to check things were OK and to give us a birthday gift, which was a lovely touch. It's very cosy and spotlessly clean. I asked for the heating to be on when we arrived as it was a cold day, and Mark did just that with no hesitation. The Wellington Pub serving delicious food, we had dinner and breakfast there, it was lovely. Nice gift on arrival which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Also, milk in the fridge, tea/coffee, hot chocolate, and small biscuits complimentary, nice touch. We would stay again. We would have liked a downstairs toilet, I think one could possibly be put in by the kitchen in the utility part if the washing machine was smaller and cupboards were smaller? Something to consider 🤔. Also a mirror on the wall in the small bedroom would be good. The keybox is not the easiest to open a bit fiddly, especially with false nails 🤣 maybe a different kind would be better as I think if Mark hadn't turned up we may still be there trying to open it? . The pub "The Wellington Arms" was a little further away than anticipated, but we did have a 83 year old walking with us, so maybe a bit slower for us, probably quicker we more fit people . Only 2 mins by car, thou.

- Sandra (10/5): Home from home very comfy will be back - There are walks around the village down to the River Nidd. Plenty of places to visit. Bus service through the village. Great pub for food just 10 min walk. Fresh farm eggs just up the road. Wish we could have stayed longer
- Amanda (9/5): - The property was very well equipped, clean and very comfortable
- Jackie (10/5): We will book again - Good location
- Lyn (6/5): Lovely property, spoilt by lack of attention to maintenance. - Spacious, comfortable Unresolved problems with plumbing, heating, hot water, front door.
- Phillip (9/5): - A very comfortable, clean and roomy cottage for the 5 of us. Had all the amenities that we required. The weather was cold but the cottage felt warm and cosy. All the rooms were well decorated with the lounge having a modern feel. The 3 Bedrooms were of a good size and had comfortable beds
The local pub a 10 minute walk from the cottage was welcoming and served excellent food. There was 5 of us staying at the cottage but only 4 chairs around the kitchen dining table so perhaps a spare chair could be fitted in somewhere to call upon.
- Deborah (8/5): Very good, lovely cosy cottage in beautiful dales village. - Comfortable, very clean, everything needed was there. Owner was lovely and really helpful. Good location near Harrogate, Knaresborough and so many lovely places. Would recommend. Bathroom taps confusing as opposite to hot & cold indicated. Bathroom and second bedroom a bit small but manageable. Small outside area.
- Natalie (9/5): Gorgeous cottage, perfect for a weekend away with family - Gorgeous cottage, really comfy beds. Great location for us. We had a problem with the heating on the first night as it wasn’t working but Mark did his best to sort and the second night was more comfortable
- Laura (8/5): Lovely cottage in an excellent location. - Beautiful cottage in a lovely little village. Location is excellent and very close to the main local attractions. Village pub is great for dinner. All the beds were very comfortable, good quality pillows and bed linen. On arrival complimentary Yorkshire tea & coffee which was a bonus. The kitchen was very well equipped . Plenty of bath towels . Lots of storage for your clothes and plenty of mirrors , nice shoe and coat rack. Disappointed the bath tap wasn’t working as it has a lovely bath. At times the cottage was quite cold - heating is on a timer which you cannot control. Owner offered to adjust temperature but it would be convenient to be able to control it yourself as everyone experiences heat differently .
- Jane (7/5): Super cottage to explore a great area of Yorkshire and the owner was very responsive. owner - Fitted out well with modern equipment and furniture. Lounge and kitchen were very spacious and the beds super comfy. Unfortunately the hot bath tap had a fault and wasn’t working which was disappointing but the owner acted very promptly in getting it fixed for the next guests.
- Quick (8/5): A comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. -
- Michal (9/5): Very happy with our stay, highly recommended. - Great spacious cottage, our three kids loved it. Very comfortable. Location quiet and relaxing, good walk by the river. Loads of interesting places close by All doors would benefit from a little adjustment as they are not cloing smoothly, but not big issue. No baby safety gates on the stairs.
- Karen (9/5): - Spacious, well-equipped, fantastic communication from the host.Nice little touches - such as milk in the fridge and tea and coffee. Brilliant location.
- JIM (9/5): Excellent cottage and location. - Location was great. Really easy access to many local highlights (Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey, Knaresborough, walks galore..) and even Harrogate was only 15mins away for a supermarket if required.
Hosts were were very attentive and communication via the app was excellent. All questions were answered promptly. No garden as such but you only have to walk 1 minute and you have the whole valley to explore so it wasn't an issue.
- Ciara (10/5): Gorgeous - Beautiful location
- Lucy (8/5): Lovely stay at the cottage - great park down the road which the kids enjoyed! -
- Claire (8/5): Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped and Perfect for our needs. - Clean and comfortable. Nice views of countryside from bedroom at the back. Easy parking and access. Well equipped. The hot water was a bit temperamental - shower kept going from scalding hot to freezing cold without moving the setting. Not a big problem for us but might be tricky with young children.
- Anne-marie (9/5): Superb -
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property with everything we needed.
- Thomas (10/5): Hopefully come back some day - It felt like home. Not the usual soulless house rental with a million "live laugh love" types of decor.. I'd happily come back, and just gutted that we only spent one short night there. The rear patio is small.. but not really an issue for two of us.
- Denise (10/5): We will be coming back - Spacious clean and everything you could want was available Small yard
- Jane (9/5): Spacious and comfortable home away from home. - A lovely property to stay in. Well equipped and spacious.
Had a very nice meal at The Wellington 2 mins drive from the cottage.
- Mandhir (9/5): Superb - Excellent Location. It was serene and quiet N/A
- Nigel (10/5): Enjoyable couple of nights away - Very comfortable accommodation with parking right outside. Pub just up the road serving good food. Nothing
- Wor (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay at Mark's place. The old cottage has had a makeover, so it's old and quaint outside but clean and functional inside.
We really appreciated the well-stocked full kitchen, which included nice tea and coffee bags, hot chocolate, milk, and biscuits. There were also plenty of pods for the dishwasher and washing machine.
The living room was spacious and comfy, and with the electric fire on it was cosy and warm.
Definitely a nice place to relax and read, or see the sights in the area. We'd happily stay again. The hot water was a little tricky, it can take a minute to come through and is a bit sensitive to adjustments or people usung the other taps. We got the hang of it by the second day.
- Gray (8/5): Very good - The position was perfect for us visiting family.
Beautiful countryside which we know well. My husband has mobility issues after a stroke. A toilet downstairs would have been nice. There wasn't really except I thought it looked out over fields from photos, so the back yard was disappointing, especially if we were staying longer. It would be a good idea even for able bodied to have grab rails NR bath/shower. Was a difficult angle to climb in for me, just a thought on safety. But all lovely.
- Tuck (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
Brilliant location for a nice quiet stay. Nothing
- Verna (9/5): A highly recommended place to stay within easy reach of Harrogate and beautiful countryside. - A lovely comfortable and spacious property exceptionally well equipped. Nothing. Everything was good.
