• Abbie (10/5): - The location was accessible via the houston 101 bus. We loved the heated flooring, the kitchen facilities and how comfy and cozy the bed was. The fire pit, Wood fire hot tub and decking was loveley to sit at and gave options to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the farm. We loved getting to meet all the animals and how lovely Lyn and Simon where! 10/10 would recommend and can't wait to go back! The atmosphere was so quiet and peaceful and you can see how much care goes into these huts.

We especially loved the hot tub and the barbecue area — both made the stay extra relaxing and enjoyable. Everything was well looked after, and we felt very comfortable throughout our visit. Clean and all facilities worked perfectly fine! On request the hot tub can be heated up for your arrival which was the perfect touch (I found it slightly difficult to heat myself but was definitely user error and the hosts were more than happy to guide and help us) we never heard any noise from the people in the other huts which was great. We also had the chance to meet the ponies and goats on the farm which was great for my horse loving sister

• Natalie (10/5): Hidden little gem - Such a beautiful place and has everything you need not too far away from Edinburgh and a great way to relax away from the hustle and bustle.The hut is so cosy and like a home from home. Lynn and Simon were absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend having the hot tub set up for your arrival. I was genuinely impressed by the attention to detail both inside and outside, I didn’t expect such thoughtful amenities in such a compact house. The support and quick responses from Lyn and Simon were outstanding. As a lovely bonus, we also enjoyed meeting the ponies and goats, and learning interesting facts about them. Our weekend was a complete success, even more than we had hoped for! Looking forward to come back) The bedding was a bit stiff/crispy, which affected my sleep due to sensitivity.

My grandson could not go to his P7 school Camp due to him dislocating his shoulder So this was mainly for him. Despite the weather we loved being there away from business and pollution fresh air is best.

Outside space was equally impressive and the owners had thought of everything from a bbq to a fire pit and picnic bench. Hot tub was great too and the views are spectacular. Honestly nothing. Probably the best short term stay we have been to as a family.

The beds were very comfortable! The outdoor spa, barbecue and fire pit was an added bonus! It was a little bit small for three adults. However, in warmer weather, you would use the outside area for sitting and eating.

• Rachel (10/5): An amazing one night stay - Location was so ideal to explore the Pentland Hills - great walking and running trails. The hut was so peaceful, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. It had lovely Christmas touches outside the hut and owners were so generous in leaving some milk/food supplies for on arrival. The hot tub was also an amazing addition and a special treat, especially as the stars were all out. We had a really great stay, wish we could have stayed for longer. The only thing I would advise people is that if your heating up the hot tub yourselves it takes quite a while until it reaches the best temperature (but they do kindly offer pre-heating the tub before you get there for a price which you can do).

• Jamie (10/5): A little slice of heaven on earth! Our stay here was absolute perfection from start to finish. - A little slice of heaven on earth! Our stay here was absolute perfection from start to finish. The sherphards huts are so luxurious. Everything you could want was there and more, with clear attention to detail. They are so cozy, and the underfloor eating was dreamy. As was the super comfy bed, with gorgeous bedding and also a hot, well pressured shower. It is also extremely space efficient (underbed storage, foldable coffee table tucked under sofa etc.) meaning it never felt cramped. We also felt like the first guests to have ever stayed with how spotless it was. It felt really private, and as the bushes and trees continue to grow, it will only feel even more secluded. Plus, with the key box to open to the hut, it gave a sense of privacy. But Simon and Lyn are just fabulous, and so communicative and quick to answer if we ever did have any questions. We arrived to a pre-heated hot tub which was the most delightful welcome. I would definitely recommend this option as you then have a filled and heated tub, which makes subsequent hot-tubs quicker to heat. You are also welcome to buy more wood etc. from them should you run out (huge logs that burn slowly & reasonably priced). The surrounding area is just beautiful, with stunning views from bed, and endless walks on your doorstep. It’s hard to believe you’re only a hop, skip and a jump away from Edinburgh (public transport available). I would truely recommend this place to anyone, and we really hope to be back again soon. Thanks so much Simon & Lynn for making my birthday weekend so special!

• AC (9/5): Fantastic hut, beautiful views, enjoyable stay - Absolutely stunning location, only 25 mins away from Edinburgh city centre, which is a gorgeous drive, and accessible for those without a car, too. The pod was really clean and had a gorgeous view. The hosts were really lovely and fantastic with communication. For facilities, the shower was powerful, and the bathroom came with spare toilet rolls and hand wash. Plenty of towels supplied. The kitchen had clean and modern crockery, and plenty of plates and cutlery. Ample parking space and easy to check in and out with clear instructions from hosts. Nothing we didnt like, it was a brilliant stay. Just a few suggestions we had to further enhance the experience would include: - Small bin in the colder months under the sink - Travel shower gel/shampoo/conditioner would be a nice touch - Kitchen towel (and paper towels) - Free logs for the log fire rather than having to organise and at an additional expense (albeit a relatively modest one) However, there is a superstore Tesco 9 minutes away for all of the above if needed.
