Guest Reviews
- Ellis (10/5): Great apartment! Good parking and location. Had everything I needed and slept very well each night. - Good location, nice apartment, good parking, and quiet at night when sleeping. I will definitely be back
- toonsarah (8/5): Great apartment in an excellent location, but not if arriving on a Sunday! - A small but very cosy apartment in a really excellent location. It's an easy walk to any part of the city (shops, restaurants, station etc.) yet really quiet at night. The flat is clean and nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable, the shower excellent and the large-screen TV had plenty of channels to keep us entertained on nights in. We didn't cook much (too many great restaurants in Newcastle!) but the kitchen had everything we needed for making breakfasts. We also appreciated the secure parking space. We would book again but with one important proviso - see below. While the apartment was generally well-equipped, somewhat oddly there are no towel rails or even hooks in the bathroom. We had to resort to drying our towels on the clothes airer we found in a cupboard, set up in the hallway as it was too big for the bathroom. A small shelf for toiletries in the bathroom would also be a welcome addition.
Access to the apartment on our arrival wasn't well-managed by the company. We'd been told to call 30 minutes before our anticipated arrival and that a taxi would be dispatched with the keys. I actually called closer to 20 minutes before so we were prepared for a 10 minute wait, but there was no sign of the taxi after 15 minutes so I called again, to be told the driver was still 10-15 minutes away. After 18 minutes more there was still no sight of him, so I called again and this time was told 4 more minutes. After a further 8 minutes I called yet again and was told he was already there. We could see no sign of him but when my husband walked a little way back along the road he found the car outside Blackfriars Restaurant. Apparently the driver had been told that we were inside the restaurant so he was waiting for us to come out! Luckily we'd come by car so could wait in the warm, but this really was an unsatisfactory start to our holiday. It seems Week2Week don't provide adequate staffing to deal with arrivals on a Sunday, so maybe they shouldn't take bookings starting then? We really liked the apartment and would book again but NOT if we wanted to start our holiday on a Sunday or public holiday. I should add that I received a full apology when I complained the following day but not (as yet) any assurance that their systems will change.
