• AURELIEN (10/5): Très bien placé - La localisation est absolument parfaite, l'hôtel est placé entre deux hawker centers et deux stations de métro. Le personnel est accueillant.: merci à Jeffery, Gladys, Laura, Pan et Xue pour leurs efforts. Au moment de ma réservation l'hôtel avec comme suffixe "rénové récemment". Ça a été modifié depuis et effectivement le revêtement de sol dans ma chambre a connu des jours meilleurs, idem pour le carrelage au sol dans la douche. A noter aussi une porte de placard qui ne s'ouvre pas totalement, du coup le tiroir à l'intérieur est inutilisable m'enfin c'est pas bien méchant. A noter que la rue est bruyante, c'est la fiesta en bas jusqu'à minuit / 1h. Je me savais avant de venir et je ne regrette pas, par contre si vous êtes couche-tôt ...

Due to the high humidity, mold has formed on the upper part of the toilet frame. However, at least in my room, there is an urgent need for improvement! Furthermore, a small mirror and napkins in the room would be very helpful for guests. Otherwise, the hotel is good.

• Clliffdog01 (6/5): The location and price is excellent, but room temps are high. - The location of the hotel is excellent especially for the price you are moments away from Chinatown and there are lots of buses very close by to go further. Also the Balcony in such a cheap hotel is something I have never experienced before. The temperature of the room was very high. They have AC but it is very weak and doesn't do much for the room's temperature I think they need an extractor fan in the ceiling or an electric fan beside the bed to get air moving better. Also the Balconies are filled with water because they don't have drains and given that Singapore has mosquitoes with dende fever doesn't seem wise and considering it would take a few seconds with a masonry bit on a drill to fix seems short sighted. To be clear I think it is worth staying; if you bring some bleach for the water and a personal fan you will have a great experience.

• Megan (2/5): Awful - The location Paid for a room with a balcony, first room did not have one, went back to reception and the staff eventually understood what we were saying, she changed our room 3 times, got to the room, the pillow had make up stains all over it, the bathroom had men’s perfume left in it, when leaving the room my mom and I discovered the used condom under the bed, we complained to the staff and they just said sorry that was it, the bathroom floor was also flooded when we arrived.

• Ezio Ostorero (2/5): - Good location in Chinatown, close to three MRT stations. Room size unacceptable, OK, this is not uncommon in the Far East. No place to hang a towel and very few coat hangers on the back of the door, no room to place luggage, no place to hang clothes, I had to spread them on the bed. The WC doubled as shower, so it was damp all the time. Some of the reception staff did not speak english, that's weird in a tourist area. Then, in the last day, no hot water, I had to take the shower in my next stay. The area is very noisy at nighttime, the very kind receptionist provides earplugs, but it's hard to sleep before 2-3 AM

• Nigel (8/5): Good value small fairly basic but clean accommodation. - No breakfast but plenty of choice nearby. Location is excellent -close to three MRT stations . Staff super helpful , friendly and went out xtra mile to help us book an early morning taxi, ensuring we would be picked up. Have stayed at hotel when it was Hotel 1929. It has been refurbished - reception much better and bathrooms particularly so, bedding very clean and comfortable but it is a superficial refurbish - still damp smell in room, carpet stained and bathroom grouting discoloured. Price still competitive for Singapore but Kesa House across the street gives a much better impression for a little more expense.

• Mark (3/5): Functional - The bed was comfortable. There were a few complimentary snacks in the room. The air conditioning was good. The room was extremely small. The en suite was miniscule with no room for the sink. The decor was old, tatty and poorly maintained. The room was directly above a very noisy bar which made sleeping impossible until after midnight. The room size meant we has nowhere to store our cases. The hot water stopped working.

The room was only ok for 1 person with a small suitcase, I don't think it fits a couple. The smell of the reception made me feel sick, I think they should change the air freshener The water is not hot, just warm The toilet paper was not enough, I think they should put at least 2 rolls The balcony window can't be sealed so you can hear a lot of noise.
• Marama (6/5): Great location for exploring Singapore - Great location. Short walk to Chinatown or Maxwell MRT stations. On a nice street with restaurants, bars & shophouses. Room & bed were comfortable and light with big windows and little balcony. Be aware that the room is very small - we only had carry on, it would have been a squeeze to fit more luggage in. We had to move the bed to open the balcony door. The bathroom is the smallest I’ve encountered - basically a toilet cubicle with a shower directly over the toilet.

• Peter (5/5): Never again…far better options in area - Location lots of good restaurants in street, heart of Chinatown, close to MRT Room the size of a prison cell, could hardly get into shower, no chair to sit on, loud music from downstairs bars till 1am - 2am every day - could not sleep, bed linen not changed once in my 6 night stay, zero communication from staff.

• Kono (8/5): ビジネスの短期滞在にピッタリ！ - オフィス街のタンジョン・パガーが近くてロケーションが良かった。また、改装されたばかりらしくホテル内が綺麗。シャワールームはトイレとシャワーの仕切りがないが、必要なものがこじんまりとまとまっている部屋で過ごしやすかった。ビジネスの短期滞在におすすめ。 特にないです。強いて言うならシャワーとの仕切りがないのでトイレがびちょ濡れになること。トイレットペーパーが取りにくいこと。

• Mira (2/5): Very disappointed . - Unfortunately this is a very different place after renovation. We stayed there 9 years ago when it was 1929. Room is unbelievable small, we hardly fitted in our medium suitcases. Bathroom was smelly, so small, you couldn’t turn around. We asked for the change our room, but nothing was available. Only good about this hotel is location. Read above.

• 幸枝 (7/5): 次回までに改善してくれたら又泊まります! - アクセスが良くて飲食店も多く、どこに行くにも便利でした。スタッフが優しいので気兼ねなく話せました。ベッドは寝心地良いので爆睡出来ました。 5泊中、3泊もトイレットペーパーと歯ブラシの補充がないので歯ブラシは手持ちを使い、トイレットペーパーは電話が繋がらず、その都度貰いに行ったのが残念すぎました。テレビのスイッチをONにしても操作方法が分かりにくいので観ることはなかったです。

• Jean Alain (8/5): Bon choix d’ hotel mais quelques petits inconvénients à améliorer - Son emplacement en plein China Town et son calme bien que situé dans un environnement bruyant . L’amabilité du personnel . Dans la chambre un ronflement sonore était gênant . Je n’ai pas su si cela venait de l’air conditionné , du réfrigérateur ou du voisin qui ronflait ! Le bouton de la porte des wc aurait besoin d’être remplacé car il est manquant ce qui rend plus difficile l’ouverture .
• Markus (7/5): guter Ausgangspunkt für eine Stadterkundung - Das Hotel ist günstig gelegen um Singapur zu erkunden. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, Chinatown, Restaurants, 7-Eleven und ein großer Hawker-Center befinden sich in nächster Nähe. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind winzig und wirklich nur zum schlafen geeignet.

• Cécile (9/5): - Limpio y práctico (ubicación y habitación). Un poco más de espacio podría venir bien. No hay que tener miedo, es una habitación muy pero muy pequeña. Sin embargo, todo está muy bien pensado y todo cabe!

Si trova a pochissimi minuti da tre fermate della metropolitana con cui praticamente si possono raggiungere tutti i luoghi di interesse turistico della città in poco tempo. Inoltre si trova vicinissimo al mercato dello Street Food di Maxwell, dove c'è un'offerta di cibo etnico molto variata ed è possibile fare buone colazioni la mattina. Lo staff è cordiale. L'albergo non prevede la colazione, ma in camera c'è un bollitore con cui è possibile prepararsi tè e caffè. Infine la stanza è dotata di una multipresa, anche europea, quindi non è necessario portarsi un adattatore. La pulizia della struttura l'ho trovata buona. Il bagno, che molti hanno trovato sacrificato perchè doccia e servizi soo promiscui, non ha rappresentato un problema, è comunque funzionale alle esigenze di un viaggiatore che non ha pretese particolari. La stanza presenta alcuni limiti che possono sicuramentre contrariare un viaggiatore esigente. Però bisogna anche tenere conto che a Singapore i prezzi degli alberghi che offrono standard di qualità medio-alta sono molto cari rispetto agli standard europei. Per esempio, la stanza dove sono stato non aveva finestre, ma il soffitto molto alto non dava sensazione opprimente o di claustrofobia. Il letto era un materasso, peraltro comodo, però collocato su un'ampia pedana di legno; qualcuno lo potrebbe trovare scomodo. Il problema che ho riscontrato maggiormente evidente per la qualità del soggiorno è stato rappresentato dall'ubicazione delle prese elettriche: per spegnere la luce centrale non è possibile farlo dal letto ma bisogna alzarsi e arrivare all'interruttore collocato vicino alla porta. La stanza non rimane mai nell'oscurità più totale, ma sicuramente non è pratico. Inoltre manca una luce da letto: per chi vuole leggere qualcosa a letto prima di addormentarsi certo non è il massimo.

• Leila (6/5): Ideal space for your visit to Singapore - I loved the neighborhood, Chinatown is my favourite, there are a lot of things to do and it’s very good connected with the metro station. The room was very clean, is okay for a few days. To me the fare was a bit high. I missed air conditioning in the amenities. Also, there was a green light that during bed time was very very annoying as it made the room very bright. I asked to the staff about it but it was the smoke detector. I hope you can find a solution so guest can have a pleasant rest.

• Sam (7/5): A great base to explore Singapore - A great place to stay and explore Singapore, ideally located near China Town and close to two MTR lines. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. I found the hotel hard to find on the street and the balcony was too small to sit out on and enjoy.

• Barbara (3/5): DO NOT BOOK A DELUXE ROOM - The location was quite good, close to 2 metro stations and bus stops The layout of the room was quite dangerous for older people or those who are not very flexible. There were 2 steps up to a platform where there was a mattress with one side of the bed against the wall. We had to clamber onto the bed and then to get off it we had to drag ourselves to the edge and pull ourselves up holding onto the wall unit. There were 2 narrow steps down to the bathroom. The shower rose was above the toilet, there was no enclosed shower so the whole bathroom was wet and slippery. There was absolutely nowhere to put any luggage at all. A small refrigerator was stuck in a corner but unusable because the plug was the wrong one. There was nowhere to sit in the room, not even the bed as the mattress is at floor height.
• Lauren (7/5): We enjoyed our stay here. The recent renovation is nice, and we had a more cozy feel in comparison to the rest of Singap - The price compared to other hotels is definitely worth it. It’s in a great location in Chinatown, and there are many shops/restaurants nearby. The rooms are a bit small but that comes with the price tag. Wasn’t a problem for our partner and I.
• Delennb5 (9/5): Very good value for the price, nicer than I expected - Clean, convenient location, lovely staff, especially the charming gentleman who checked me in (unfortunately I did not get his name). Comfortable bed, AC and WiFi both strong. The Deluxe balcony room was great, the balcony is quite large! In 30+ years of traveling I’ve never gotten used to bathrooms where the shower and toilet do not have a divider of some kind 😅 Not a criticism of the hotel; it’s common in hotels in many countries and in this case was a trade-off to give more space in the room (I assume)
