- Luigi (1/5): The worst place I have ever stayed in fifteen years of travelling across Europe, Asia and the US. - Absolutely nothing. Before I start, I am a PhD candidate and conference liaison of the British Forum of Ethnomusicology, so I speak to all students and academic stuff that might think of this place as convenient and near the uni. DON'T.
When I arrived at the front desk there were only security people. I had to wait 15 minutes before they figured out which keys were mine and had to call to help me. Very unprepared, although they were good blokes. Just not their job.
The place is horrible and it's the literal bare minimum to call it a student accommodation. Furtniture is old and place is decaying with no care whatsoever.
When I arrived to my room it was freezing. The temperature was below ten degrees in the room which is against good health practices in the UK. The sheets were dirty as well as the towel (some black mold stuck to my hand when I touched it to understand what it was), there was no hairdryer and the only heater was a tiny one attached to the wall. After four hours warming the place with the setting to 30°, the room was still below ten degrees.
I tried to contact the company multiple times and no one came to help. When I went downstairs to get possible solutions, the help desk only had security which was clueless, of course.
I have asked multiple times support and solutions, and ultimately a refund, but these people are obviously dodging me.
I had to book another accommodation. This is unacceptable and Booking should get rid of this place.
Literally, you can find even cheaper and nicer places in the rest of the city.
I booked this place because, as a British Forum of Ethnomusicology representative for a conference, it was the nearest to the Conservatoire. Yet, I warn everyone that around there there is another one that is much better, although I forget the name.
Ultimately, don't book here, and dissuade everyone to do so.
I have never received such bad customer service and careless, exploitative practice.
Hopefully this place closes soon.

- Ruby (1/5): - Nothing My booking was cancelled by booking.com at the last minute.
- Thao (1/5): Last minute cancelation is a crime - It’s near to where I need to be Don’t book this if you don’t want last minute pain!!!
They canceled my booking 3 days before the trip, stated that they have a 7 night policy and my booking was just for 2 nights. The point is I booked this a month ago, did all the form that they required, etc. Not to mention that I stayed there twice for 2 nights in the past and there was no problem. I have no choice but to suspect their transparency on this - maybe they had overbooking and chose to sacrifice me since my booking is low value? They said sorry but gave me no solution. Price rocketed when I was too close to my departure date. I was put in unnecessary stress the whole weekend.
Very standard accommodation. You need to collect and sort your rubbish on your own - going to the basement to discard your rubbish. You’re not allowed to use the kitchen although it’s right next door, with threaten on fine if you happen to use it, even just to get some hot water or heat up your food. The building is a mess, lift does not work and is over crowded.

- Keyse (6/5): Difficult to check in and out but room itself was comfortable. - The location was great for BCU and for the city centre The check in and check out experience was difficult. After waiting 30 minutes the security guard had to take me to my room as he didn’t have a key for me. I had to be taken to my room again 3 hours later as the key still wasn’t ready and I didn’t get my key until the next morning which was quite impractical, it seems like the accommodation was not set up for short stay guests.

- Rahn (10/5): Really enjoyed it. - Jennens Court offers a prime central Birmingham location, genuinely convenient for uni and city life.
- Ejares (10/5): - I recently stayed at Jennens Court in Birmingham and had a great experience overall. The location is ideal—just a short walk to the city center, close to shops, transport links, and right next to Birmingham City University, which made everything super convenient.
- Joann (10/5): The place was clean and had all the basics covered - Stayed at Jennens Court and really liked it. The place was clean and had all the basics covered—fast WiFi, a private bathroom with a nice walk-in shower, and a desk where I could get some work done. The kitchen had everything I needed to whip up meals, which was super convenient. The location is awesome, just a short walk to Bullring and loads of cool spots around town. Having my own entrance and a lift made life easy too. Definitely a solid choice if you want to be right in the city center without any hassle.
