- Marcel (9/5): Toplocatie, fantastisch uitzicht. Vuurtje stoken voor de tent. Echt top -
- Tracey Fenner (10/5): - Super-friendly staff who were engaged and helpful. The area is stunning with views of the sea and beautiful surroundings. Nothing not to like :)
- Clare (10/5): Spectacular location for posh camping - We loved the stunning location and panoramic views and big, open sky. Gorgeous tent and outside decking, picnic table and fire pit/Dutch oven for our use. The tent itself is spacious, comfortable with high spec furnishings, comfy mattresses, cosy blankets, lantern, solar panel-powered phone charger, fairy lights and jute rugs.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff showed us round on check in and made sure we knew where the (pristine) loos/showers are, and the various facilities such as kitchen/fridge room, fire fuel to purchase and café on site. We enjoyed beautiful views over the Sound, and being very close to Kingsand and Cawsand.

- Alwin (9/5): - It's very comfortable and nice staff members. It was a relaxing place. The toilets, sometimes the people who weren't staying in sight use the spot were
a drinking and smoking place which then leaves it a mess.

- Val (9/5): A memorable trip in a beautiful place. - This was a beautiful location - the first time I'd ever been glamping. It was a great experience! We had our extended family there, and wanted a chance to bring five children together, from different families. It really worked out well for that purpose. In fact, we probably did like the fact that we had to cook for ourselves, and we had (just about!) come prepared. We needed milk though, and had a rather long walk to get some. Shops, food outlets were in short supply. But that's what camping is all about!
Keuken faciliteiten zouden iets uitgebreider mogen. Afwas unit zou overdekt mogen zijn.
- Zuleika (10/5): Perfect stay for the whole family in an absolutely idyllic setting with wonderful facilities - I stayed here with my parents and 9 year old daughters. The day we arrived was extremely windy, understandably the property had to place a ban on fires for safety reasons. This was communicated with us prior to our arrival so we could arrange dinner plans beforehand, which was greatly appreciated. Even though there was a storm, the tents remained warm and if anything it added to the sense of adventure.
The location is absolutely breathtaking and the tents are spaced far enough apart to retain privacy. The quiet times are adhered to pretty well, allowing for a peaceful night’s sleep in the extremely comfortable beds. The space is very safe and children can freely roam back and forth between the tents and facilities without worry.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. But special mention must go to the gentleman who cleans the bathrooms…he seemed to constantly be cleaning them so they remain exceptionally clean at all times. The toiletries provided are of high quality and constantly fully stocked.
We took this trip as my brother has recently passed away suddenly. The Sea Forts provided us with the reset we all needed to move forward after such a shock. If we had visited a different site we don’t believe we would have returned home as rejuvenated as we have…Thank You! A couple of extra showers would be beneficial, but the occasional short wait wasn’t the end of the world.
Either larger communal fridges or a small freezer for ice blocks for coolers would be helpful.
The power bank in the tents only takes USB/C’s this wasn’t made clear beforehand so some devices/appliances couldn’t be used ie hairdryer. Again, not really an issue but would have been preferable to know beforehand.
- Anca (10/5): Lovely stay - Amazing location, clean facilities, nice and quiet, wonderful breakfast, kind and helpful staff. The tent was cold in the night.
- Gemma (9/5): Exceptional-I left feeling nourished and well rested. Thank you so much! - Everything! I can’t rave enough really. Firstly the staff were just wonderful-helpful, friendly and clearly invested and in love with the area.
Secondly the location and scenery is exquisite-it feels unspoilt and so far from being touristy. Walks from the property are straight onto the south west coastal path and so it’s a perfect place for keen walkers-lots of hills!
Finally the bell tent and toilets were all wonderful-clean and aesthetically so pleasing. I was lucky enough to get a last minute deal on booking.com but I think the original price is quite steep.
- Claire (9/5): A very special place to stay - Great location, fab facilities and very clean. Staff all very nice. Loved the set up and the atmosphere they had created. Lack of fridge space. We diddn’t manage to get anything in the fridge for our stay due to limited space.
More showers and toilets would have been great to avoid having to wait.

- Charlie (10/5): Fantastic!! - The area was beautiful, the amenities were great, the bathrooms were been cleaned constantly, and there were plenty of useful things available, ie a kitchen with fridges, kettle and a microwave, there was a little cafe and lots of other lovely things available, it was a lovely place to rest and relax 😁 There was no 3 prong plugs available, as a woman I chose glamping rather than camping so I could still look like a human! And straighten my hair lol, obviously that wasnt going to happen without a plug socket, although they did provide usb ports for charging phones etc, and it can’t be helped but there was a fire ban because of the wind, which I completely understand but it meant I spent a fortune on expensive food, which not everyone can afford to do or would want to do, other than this it was a beautiful place, absolutely just what the doctor ordered to relax and unwind, I didn’t want to leave ❤️❤️❤️
- Wouter (9/5): Geweldige beleving met wijds uitzicht - Kampvuur en wamdeling naar het dorpje. Complimenten voor de schoonmaakploeg van de douches en wc! Regen in Engeland
- lourie (10/5): Great place to make wonderful memories! - Location was stunning, facilities were fab and the staff were so helpful.
- Jessica (10/5): We had an amazing time and would definitely come again ❤️ - The views are stunning Carpark was a bit of a walk with bags
- Corina (10/5): Always a great stay at Sea Forts - The cocktail bar and food offerings are next level!
The accommodation is well thought out, spacious, comfy, everything you need for camping when you want a bit of luxe without going over the top.
The bbq/campfire and outdoor furniture is great too. I'm a repeat customer and I'll be back again! Leaving (and I hate camping)
- Kristell (7/5): - Le calme. La simplicité. Les équipements L'absence de Wi-Fi hors accueil.Pas simple pour des ados

- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - Wow what can we say! Great location great facilities great experience in all.
Stayed for 4 nights in a lux bell tent and was the best glamping experience...what a view, great facilities, staff and location. As the neighbouring site got busier towards the weekend 4 portable shower and toilet facilities were pretty tight to accommodate the volume of people.
- David (5/5): Poor value for money - Geographic location
Nice tent interior Expensive Could at least have supplied crockery, cutlery, free cooking supplies.
Too close to the general campsite. Requested a peaceful location but tent was nearest to toilet facilities & general pathway Noisy
- Avinav (9/5): The staff was amazing -
- Amanda (10/5): Great facilities, Wonderful staff, Lovely hiking - A lovely family glamping experience! Facilities are impeccable, the area is well-maintained, just a 10min drive/20min walk to beach, but also quick drives to many other beautiful beaches. Great breakfast at The Guardhouse Cafe! Plus the restaurant next door, The Canteen was superb! Friendly, helpful staff, easy check-in, and great views. Roads to the campsite are tight, especially for larger vehicles. Definitely need a car for accessibility to grocery stores, other restaurants, and town..
- Marc (5/5): Maybe I’m not a camper - Beautiful views The tent leaked and there were plenty of slugs on the insides
- Thomas (10/5): Lovely hosts, comfy dry bell tent, lovely location - Gorgeous location and well thought out facilities Nothing, it was brilliant
- Matthew (9/5): Cosy & comfy, despite the horrendous weather! - Amazing location, great hosts, good facilities onsite, best campsite bathrooms ever! Need to update the “adventure manual” with accurate descriptions of onsite catering options.
- Gilles (9/5): Superb - After visiting London, what a great quiet way of living here.
- Klara (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds, clean and hot showers
Amazing location
Friendly staff on checking in and cleaners Very moody barman in attached bar, not sure if separate from campsite
- Rekha (8/5): Lived the unique experience - Amazing location with lovely views.
The bathrooms were hotel standard and extremely clean.
The tents were well constructed and zipped all the way around so no bugs.
The onsite Canteen was some of the best food I’ve had for a while
A kitchen area with fridges/ microwave and kettle was great. If it’s cool outside the bedding becomes damp with no way to warm it up.
As this was glamping maybe some plusher rugs and bedding
Would be nice to have a communal indoor area to hangout in if the weather is not great.
Somewhere to dry your hair
- Jess (10/5): friendly, chilled and relaxing - Such a lovely environment and really friendly. The space was just so relaxing and chill, will definitely be back Honestly nothing, the weather was a little windy so was up in the night but exceeded our expectations
- Keyes (10/5): Exceptional - Loved being outdoors. So close to the town and the sea front. The rain
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (9/5): Beautiful sea view location, will be recommending to friends and family - Beautiful sea view location, the set up with the bell tents is such a great idea, the beds were comfy, everything was super clean, our host was lovely and really welcoming. Shower and toilet facilities were great and very clean. Having a fridge, microwave and kettle in the kitchen area was a great addition. Would recommend to friend and family. Great location with a short drive to beautiful beaches. The toilets were a longer walk than expected, especially in the night. It would make a huge difference if the bell tent had a box/ washing up bowl with cooking utensils cups and plates then we could take it all to wash up as well. The Guard House Cafe was not in operation and the Canteen had limited open hours.
- Anton (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, nice views, good hub for going on walks and visiting nearby sites. Very friendly staff and clean bathrooms!
- Bijo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Noise after midnight
- Helen (9/5): Tranquil retreat beside skylarks and butterflies - Everything about The Sea Forts has been well thought out. Lovely details, enchanting tent, a comfy bed and soft towels. Well seasoned logs and free use of a skillet. Fabulous and pristine toilet block with hot showers.
It was quiet and tranquil and the tents were well spaced out for privacy.
We absolutely loved our weekend stay and would return in a heart beat, thank you Mel and team. Weekends are never long enough!
- Chris (10/5): Loved the atmosphere, and as a Navy man, I really appreciated the history of the place - Right from the start, the staff were fantastic very kind and welcoming. They gave us a tour and made us feel at home. We requested a cot for our 4-month-old, and they provided it without any hassle, which we really appreciated. We loved the tent and the overall atmosphere was just wonderful!
- Emma (8/5): Great -
- Valentina (10/5): Wonderful experience - The cleanliness of the bathrooms and the facility and the kindness of the staff I liked everything. Just a suggestion, it would be useful to add a hair dryer
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional - The bathrooms and the tents were top notch.
- Jo (10/5): Great location, great set up with everything you need to off grid and relax. I did take a few extra camping essentials s - Bell tent was comfy, on site facilities were good, bed was super comfy Nothing
- Monroe (8/5): Very good - The staff is 10 out of 10! The tents are well thought out, the fire pit is amazing. So relaxing and peaceful. If you can- do the sauna experience. Bring extra blankets and your own pillow for extra comfort.
- Veronica (8/5): A breath of fresh air - The location is excellent, the facilities are great and staff were very helpful and welcoming. Nothing, all was good
- Sarah (10/5): Amazing stay, will be back thank you! - Beautiful location and amazing facilities, toilets and showers were very good Nothing
- Jacqueline (9/5): Glamping will always be camping, but the Sea Fort is probably as good as it can be. - The tent was great, but the facilities were fabulous - so much better than expected. The bed was a little uncomfortable but a big step up from actual camping. There were many thoughtful touches that gave the essence of camping without the heavy lifting, packing, weather watching. One of the best things was the proximity to the Guard House, a lovely cafe onsite that cooked a delicious breakfast and made perfect coffee. Another would be the beautiful walks and countryside all around. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
- Sara (8/5): Very good -
- Anjana (9/5): Superb -
- Paulina (10/5): Exceptional - All facilities were cleaned and well kept. We could check in later than standard check in time with prior arrangement. We had a bell tent with a sea view it was beautiful. Definitely will come back.
- Lucy (9/5): Beautiful - Great location with beautiful views, short walk to lovely villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and nearby Mount Edgcumbe estate
Bathrooms were spotless and very well maintained
Mel greeted us who was really friendly and helpful and grateful for our upgrade to a bigger tent with lining.
The Canteen cafe nearby did a great breakfast and coffee Nothing that was the property's fault but the first night's weather was particularly bad and we checked out a day early due to more bad weather being predicted.
Beds initially felt comfy to sit on but my husband and I did wake up with a stiff back every morning
- Gintare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Cafe , bar, views Had to queue for bathrooms
- Tony (9/5): Superb -
- Suzanne (7/5): Wonderful, easy camping in gorgeous setting. - Loved all the facilities, the different enterprises at Maker Heights alongside the campsite eg cafe, canteen, cocktail bar and art studios. Loved the location, the sea views, the walks in many directions, the attention to detail such as the way the tent pitch had been partly mown, but a wildness still left. Loved the showers and our fire pit! Would have liked a bit more information beforehand about the kitchen facilities - had to pack various things as unsure what was on site (and I ran out of time to ring and find out). The site was a bit noisy on the friday and saturday night so I would have tried to specifically book a tent further away from the bar had I known. I'm being picky because the cost is comparable to well above average cost per night in other settings.

- Alex (10/5): Pure Comfort whilst wild camping!!! - Great teepees, very comfortable beds, showers/loos were fantastic - cleaned regularly so spotless. Access to fridges and kettles etc very handy. USB chargers in tents. Beautiful view. Great sheltered walk (25 mins) into Cawsand and Kingsand. If campsite full maybe more showers/loos as 4 may not be enough?
- Agnieszka (9/5): Superb -
- Abi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay during a quiet period, only one there for one of the nights! - Lovely comfortable bed with nice thick duvet which kept me very warm and snug. Mell was very helpful throughout my stay, explaining everything. I know the area well and sea views from my tent just fab, very relaxing to wake up to and watch the sun go down whilst listening to the bird song. Excellent bathroom facilities ( though guess as only 4 would be busy / queuing when busy). 10 / 15 walk down to Kingsand (quite steep on the way back if not used to hills). Plenty of solar power for charging gadgets. Lovely thick towels. Nothing not to like but a shelving unit of some kind inside would have been very useful ( the bedside tables are very low) as if as I did you take cooking bits / mugs / snacks etc no where to put them except on spare bed or the ground.
- Gillian (10/5): Spectacular place! Would high recommend. - Amazing location and the tent was gorgeous. The food in the cafe was delicious. Nothing! We loved everything about it.
- Rhona (9/5): Excellent facilities and very welcoming stay - Very warm welcome and tour of the site. The tent was set up really nicely with lots of thoughtful additions.
The facilities were excellent and maintained to a high standard throughout our stay. Not a dislike but a comment - we took the chairs inside to sit because it was a bit chilly/windy. Some provision to sit inside, and a little coffee table, would be helpful.
- Sinead (9/5): lovely stay! would highly recommend - loved how clean everything is kept. the staff were so lovely and helpful. the beds where really comfy too.
loved the short walk down to the beach and shops.
Great stay we can't wait to come and visit again! :) campsite right behind the tents we're extremely loud. luckily we both are good sleepers but for people who are not they may not enjoy this side to it.
Maybe would be an idea to fence off the tents or some tents so it becomes even more private for people staying with you. also dogs will be able to go off the lead in the safe area with no problems. it's quite hard to keep dog on the lead at all times when they want to do a little bit of exploring around the tent.

- Casey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Well worth a visit, lots of hills to walk - Peaceful and very comfortable
- Sonja (9/5): Superb - Amazing views. Comfortable bed. Clean shower block. Fire pit. Close
Proximity to local
Villages and beaches. Really noisy neighbours and the site is rather exposed, so it could get very cold when weather turns.
- Emma (10/5): Amazing place, don’t hesitate to book and hope for good weather! - Everything! Good for the soul, getting back to nature. Nothing we didn’t like.
- Nicola567 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eve (10/5): An amazing stay for us and our dogs at The Sea Forts! - We absolutely loved our stay at The Sea Forts! The bell tents were lovely, they had the most gorgeous views and we loved the outdoor areas with seating and a fire pit. Facilities were brilliant, toilets were very modern and clean and there was everything you could need. We loved the cafe on site, with very delicious breakfast and coffee options! All the staff we met were really friendly and we (and our 2 goldies) loved how dog friendly the site was! We are very excited to come back! Nothing!
- Carl (9/5): Lovely location if peace is what you want! - Layout of the tents and location. Very friendly staff. There aren't many restaurants in the area to go if it's raining and you can't have a BBQ on site.
- Dessa (10/5): Great experience, highly recommended!! - It was an amazing experience, the place will definitely make you feel better!
- Sweta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evangeline (9/5): Great outdoor trip - Lovely yurts which are fairly spacious! Get a fob to toilets/showers as well as access to more communal toilets. Cafe and bar on site with good quality offerings. 20 min walk to kingsand/Cawsand with pubs and beaches Toilets got a bit mucky, although it had rained and only 4 toilets available which meant queues and a fair wait morning and evening.
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful and memorable outdoors experience - Absolutely beautiful location, stunning views and very peaceful. There is so much wildlife to see, and the sunrises were spectacular!
Staff always helpful and friendly, and the cafes on site were great, food was always delicious!
We enjoyed the food and music on a Friday night and the atmosphere with other families and children in the field was so welcoming and lots of fun.
Yurt was very sturdy and well provided with a solar charged electric port with space for three chargers, a towel rail plus plenty of towels and blankets, it was well lit with colour changeable solar lights, which you can decide to leave on or off.
The bed was so cosy and comfortable, the mattress was really nice quality! We all slept very well the whole time we were there and never had a problem with outside noise.
The toilets were great actually, considering we were camping it felt very luxurious to have such clean showers. They come with lots of shamp/conditioner and body wash which were all nice quality.
The toilets are storage containers with four separate doors but they're private, and the locking system is very secure when you know how to do it properly (they will show you on check in, and it's very simple.) they were cleaned very regularly, and were always in good condition, we were lucky that we never once needed to wait for the toilet either.
Car park was nice and close too, and they provide a wheelbarrow to carry your stuff which is a fun touch!
We would definitely come back and would highly recommend it if you're not really one for roughing it camping but want a beautiful and memorable outdoors experience! We got lost on the way there , please don't follow the postcode (like we did). It would be helpful if they could send a simple digital google maps pin of their more accurate location to follow with their correspondence in messages.
More signage about the place with things like opening times for cafe/canteen during the week, etc , or a little flyer for the week with what's on food wise, live music times etc would be very helpful, just so there's a hub of information somewhere. We were never really sure what was open when. It was nice to be spontaneous but could probably do with a notice board or chalkboard.
It was sometimes a bit hard to distinguish our tent in the dark/mist. Although we had our own torches, perhaps different colour fairy lights outside each individual tent would be really helpful? A few other guests had brought their own lights but maybe some different coloured low light solar light markers set in the ground , also so it's not too dark walking around at night to give you a clearer path to follow some little lights would be beneficial.
We had some large nettles poking through the decking in areas which could have been trimmed before our arrival with young boys (but we pushed them off to the side easily enough!)
Nothing major at all, just some little suggestions and we would absolutely stay again, we were so impressed and we all loved the experience!
- Rebecca (10/5): Amazing location, facilities were luxury, people friendly and helpful .. a little gem - Location… people .. facilities Nothing more then expected

- Zivile (9/5): Superb -
- Sumana (8/5): We had a genuinely adventurous Glamping experience! - Friendly Staff. We had a fantastic sea view from our tent. Cafes and Restaurants were within walking distance. We didn't drive for the whole time we were there. I had read a review that highlighted the ratio of the number of toilets to the number of tents. But we didn't have any problem using the toilet/shower. We were in the queue thrice, and only one or two people were ahead. We visited during the August bank holiday weekend. Some tents are a bit closer to one another. The one next use had a family, who were talking till 4 AM in the morning, which kept us awake.
- Shogofa (1/5): totally unbearibily uncomfortable , would never eve go back to sea fort or Cornwall . - Nothing , on top of it disliked it so much , no value for money or place or comfortablility First of all the reception did not book the exact number of pple, secondly I , as a disabled person could not use the mattress that was place in the tent and had to bring another mattress from the other tent for medical use because the floor was wet, on top of that the properly or tent receptionist accused me of things being missing which the tent in the first place did not have or possessed, we place the mattress back from where we took because in the middle of desert there was no receptionist to ask . To make things worse payment for three days worth of desert tent was way too much , they are asking for 200£ more which it did not even meet 2 star accommodation , I would kindly request them to apologise for also apologise for wrongfully defaming and the accusation and also would like them to apologise for asking extra payment and wrongful and abusive behaviour??? In fact the receptionist was rude I front of two kids, we are all professional and work for NHS AND PHARMACY AND and understand and are aware of full true human behavior , these accusations are totally wrong and I would like on the contrary ask for full refund from this desert tent which apparently have had poo on the floor that we wiped as a matter of courtesy from dog who have been staying in other tents and we had to walk past those poo, how come the receptionist accuse us who has been using booking.com for many many years .
please forward my message to them and I would like full refund as a result of such wrongful accusations and harassment for extra money that in the first place they have to pay us back.
