And my favorite is the door in the dorm, it doesn't have sound of we open or close it. They didn't provide soap and shampo in the bathroom. It's not expensive for the price, but i think it's basic amenities.

• Markus (4/5): Für ein Hostel selbst in Singapur zu teuer. - Gute Lage, Busstation fast vor der Tür. MRT nur ein paar Minuten Fußweg entfernt. Auch für ein Hostel war das Familienzimmer sehr einfach. Zudem lief anscheinend das Abwasser von Dusche und Toilette durch unsere Dusche/Toilette - und das die ganze Nacht. Das (Not-)Ausgangsschild hat das Zimmer die ganze Nacht über erhellt.

• Gesa Marie (4/5): Sehr gute Lage, aber unkomfortabel - Das Hostel hat eine sehr gute Lage. Es gibt einen Wasserspender für Trinkwasser. Jedes Bett hat einen Vorhang, sodass man in der Schlafkapsel Privatsphäre hat. Die Zimmer sind viel zu klein für die Anzahl der Leute im Zimmer. Nicht alle Schließfächer verfügen über ein Schloss. Für die Steckdosen wird ein Adapter benötigt. Die gesamten Räumlichkeiten haben sehr stark feucht gerochen, außerdem ist es in den Gemeinschaftsräumen inkl. Badezimmer sehr warm. Das Zimmer hingegen ist eiskalt.

The bed area seemed clean but the cabinets were so creaky, I’m sorry if I woke someone up! Saw a massive cockroach. The entry area smells like straight BO some of yall need to wear deodorant STOP MESSING AROUND AND BUY SOME DAMN OLD SPICE

• Maria Estela (3/5): Paga algo más y alójate en un sitio en condiciones - Hay secador de pelo. La ubicación es buena. Empezando porque el personal tenía 0 formación y habilidades para trabajar de cara al público, ni siquiera te daban los buenos días o saludaban o preguntar que tal, lo típico del personal de alojamiento, nada nada nada, muy frío y poco cercano. No hay jabón en las duchas, no te pido que me pongas todo un arsenal de productos de higiene, pero jabón para el cuerpo? Me parece lo mínimo. En las duchas había más moho que en el cajón de fruta de la nevera que te olvidas por semanas, asqueroso. Tampoco había papel dentro de los WC, estaban fuera, tenías que calcular cuánto papel higiénico ibas a necesitar antes de entrar (¿?), sin sentido. En las habitaciones tenían el aire acondicionado super bajo, era un congelador. Pedí por favor que lo subieran y me dijeron que más de 22° no lo iban a subir. No intentaban hacerte la estancia agradable, todo lo contrario. Era imposible estar descansando en la habitación porque te congelabas, horrible. Las zonas comunes eran super incómodas, sillas de plástico baratas, ni un mísero sofá o espacio agradable para descansar sin tener que ir a la habitación. El desayuno: pan del molde con mermelada y crema de cacahuete, pero el pan de molde lleva leche así que si eres intolerante a la lactosa como yo olvídate del desayuno. No tienen nevera para poder dejar tu comida que necesita conservación en frío. El escurridero de los platos siempre estaba mojado, olía mal porque había moho. El armario donde se guardan los platos "limpios" (lávalos antes de usarlos, sigue mi consejo) estaba lleno de bichos. Me gasté 10 dólares en lavar mi ropa (5 dólares lavadora y 5 dólares secadora, y si o si necesitas la secadora porque con la humedad que hay y lo fria que está la habitación con el aire acondicionado no se te secaría en la vida ) con su servicio de lavandería...

• Khan (8/5): Stay at Code Hostel Lavender - Nice and clean Beds were very comfortable Just the basics as expected from hostel Staff, Cecilia, was very accomodating and helpful. Thanks Cecilia Our hostel location was changed at the last hours to a different location from what was booked. We were moved to Code Hostel Lavender from Kampong Glam some 1.3 km further. Not pleased at all. Some computer issues. Quarters and especially the bathroom were very small.

• Henrietta (6/5): - The location I have stayed at many hostels in my life and this was one of the least thought-through once: - when I checked it, I was asked to put my luggage into luggage storage, because the room is too small (I just travel with a backpack)…In the end, I was luckily able to fit my stuff under the bed, but I just find it insane that I was even asked to do so. You kinda need your stuff in your room!? - I don’t expect to get a towel from a hostel, however, this hostel advertises even in their welcome message, that you will get a fresh towel every day. From my arrival day to my check out day, it has literally been forgotten everyday and I only got it upon asking. - there is no bin in the room - the light was left on in the freshly made beds with the curtains closed, even though nobody checked in. This meant, that the people in the room thought somebody was in the beds (again, curtains were closed) so the lights were on all night long, shining into the beds of the people actually being there - the shared bathroom is shared between men and women, which is ok, however, there are not even bins in the toilet, instead there is only one big bin next to the sinks which says „tissues only“ - so as a woman, am I supposed to bring my female hygiene products all the way to the kitchen bin? Ridiculous! - the sinks are so small, you can barely put a toothbrush on there Each single point may just be a small issue but added together just makes it ridiculous and annoying. Most could be easy resolved, if it was just a bit more thought through.

• Zul (9/5): - I stayed at the Code Hostel for two nights. The hostel is conveniently located next to the Muslim Quarters and Little India. The bus stop is right outside. The beds and bathroom were clean and the dorms were quiet at night unlike the other hostel in stayed in Singapore. Laundry was available at an affordable price. The staff especially Himsara and Nikhila were very friendly and attentive to my needs. For a hostel in Singapore, Code Hostel met my expectations. The walls inside the dorm were damp and mouldy. The light from the exit sign inside the dorm also was little disturbing. The hostel lacked the vibe/ social atmosphere and opportunities for connecting with fellow travellers including to learn about the activities you can do in Singapore.

Positiv: - die Betten haben Vorhänge für mehr Privatsphäre - es gibt ein simples, kleines Frühstück - Einkaufs- und Essensmöglichkeiten in direkter Nachbarschaft - Metro in der Nähe - Föhn und Waschmöglichkeiten sind vorhanden - ruhige und dennoch zentrale Lage Negativ: - die Klimaanlage im Ladies-Dorm war wirklich sehr sehr frisch und ich musste mit Pulli schlafen - mein Bett hatte keinen Schlüssel für das abschließbare Fach für den Rucksack/ ich hatte keine Möglichkeit meine Wertsachen zu sichern Insgesamt ein solides, ruhiges Hostel, welches sich super für einige Tage Singapur eignet.
• Suratwala (10/5): - Liked the fact that it was a cosy and quiet place. Though the road outside is a dedicated bus lane so it's difficult if you have to walk from the MRT to the hostel. That could be posted upfront so while booking tourists are aware. Rest it was good, neat, clean and tidy. Though the housekeeping can do change the sheets atleast once not when the person leaves. The road outside the hostel is a dedicated bus lane. So cabs won't stop if you have luggage. And it is a long walk from the nearest MRT if you have luggage. That way if it's posted on the website it will help.

• Debora (6/5): Okay for a couple of days stay I guess - Location The dormitory was clean The bathroom/toilet wasn’t the cleanest, and the space in the single toilet and bathroom is very small. There were no issues with the toilet itself, but you have to get toilet paper before using it—so good luck if you haven’t taken enough with you. I preferred using the bathroom in the mall rather than the one in the hostel.

• Laura (4/5): - Great location, plenty of food options around, comfortable beds, spacious lockers. The luggage storage is next to a backdoor which is often left open, not sure how safe is that. No shelf or hooks near the bed, no AC in the bathroom area, showers are tiny and there is no place to put towel and clothes without risking splashing water (except the one shower + bathroom cabin which is often occupied). The breakfast is just bread, peanut butter and jams.

• Charlotte (5/5): Quite nice but too expensive for what you get - The staff was kind and the room clean & fine. The air conditioning and WiFi worked well. There were a couple things that we didn’t like: of course the room is quite small for a family because there is not much storage space. Moreover, the exit sign at the door is so bright that our kids thought it’s daytime when it was time to sleep. Last but not least, the water supply line is so loud we woke up when the family in the room next to us opened the tap. Soap is not provided in the room which is a pity. Proper paper towels at the breakfast area would have been nice, too, for drying dishes or wiping a table. Definitively room for improvement and in my opinion way too expensive for the missing comfort.

The clothes hanging area is right next to the showerhead, so you get soaked while showering. 2. The toilet is too small, and there's no toilet paper next to the toilet. 3. There's no shampoo or shower gel available, whereas hostels usually provide shared ones. 4. The bathroom and toilet are covered in mold.
