Helping with information to the bus to get to Tantallon Castle. We were walking/hiking the John Muir Way so the location was perfect. Dirleton is a charming historic place with castle and church right there. The breakfast was an added bonus. Had a peaceful good night sleep with a view of the countryside out the window. The towels were big and fluffy and the room was clean. We would definitely stay again. Definitely need to get a new mattress in room 4.

Our only small gripe was that we were cold in the night-heating in the room did not appear to be adjustable. Saying that the weather was colder than normal for the time of year.
- Kelly (8/5): Beautiful hotel and friendly staff - The breakfast is five stars, as are the staff 🙂 really lovely lounge area and breakfast was set in a beautiful conservatory. My room was fairly small and I was woken up at 4am by doors banging, someone was knocking on my door? I could hear the neighbouring rooms really loudly, doors opening, footsteps etc. It was the cheapest hotel room I could find in that area (East Lothian) at short notice for my walking excursion. I couldn’t find a shop - Dirleton is lovely and a bit too quiet, it’s not the hotels fault however £95 a night, single person and check in is from 3pm check out is 10am, I was lucky enough to check in early but 1/2pm to noon would be expected for the price. I can’t fault the staff and food atall really, it’s just a bit expensive for a small double room

- Hall (10/5): A lovely B&B well situated for golfing around North Berwick. - Clean room, good size bathroom, comfy bed and great towels. A lovely B&B Room size was snug, limited space between bed and bathroom door for example, but nothing uncomfortable by any means and had arm chair and dresser etc. No accessible plugs by bed and water pressure from shower could have been stronger.

- Olaf (9/5): Jederzeit wieder. So ein schönes Haus! - Ein sehr hübsches und altes Haus in ruhiger Lage. Kostenlose Parkplätze direkt am Haus. Das kalte und warme Frühstück war mit im Preis inbegriffen. Uns hat es so gut gefallen das wir spontan eine weitere Nacht dort geblieben sind. Top Internet das sogar zum Fußball schauen ausreichte. Das überwiegend junge Personal braucht noch ein wenig Anleitung. Im Frühstücksraum waren zwar viele Menschen aber irgendwie schien alles ein einer einzelnen jungen Frau zu hängen während die männlichen Kollegen nicht so richtig motiviert wirkten. Mehr Aktion statt herumschlurfen wäre da angebracht.

The restaurant was a bit pricey. The bedroom could do with some upgrading. The sash windows were very old and I had trouble opening them.

Very comfortable, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. - The hotel was in an ideal location for me, as I was playing golf nearby. The hotel had a nice feel about it and is very welcoming. The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean with an extremely comfortable bed! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast particularly delicious! Nothing!

We preferred that breakfast was now served in the conservatory, which was bright and inviting and that food was made to order, instead of food sitting in heated containers. Although the staff were all very pleasant and helpful, we would like to give Edward a mention, who in addition to the afore mentioned, was very friendly and personable, being a real credit to the hotel...thank you! The lack of Internet connection was a little frustrating, especially when trying to use the 'smart' television and not being able to use player etc.

Lovely location Signage could do either smartening up as it currently lets the property down. It’s lovely inside but we were worried for a moment when we arrived.

- Eleanor (9/5): Loved it. Amazing value for money. - The location was perfect. The hotel staff were attentive and the room was fabulous. We had a garden room which was huge with a big bathroom. Good shower too. Good WiFi. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very good. The room was so quiet and when we put the light off it was pitch dark. Fabulous breakfast too. Would definitely book in future. The only slight negative was the squeaky floor boards in the corridors, didn’t keep us awake though.

Sunday roast bylo výborné stejně jako sticky toffee puding. Dirleton nás obecně velice mile překvapil. Večeře byly trošku dražší. První večer jsme byli opravdu hladoví s mladík pouze doléval vodu a trvalo, než jsme si objednali.

- Stephen (7/5): A lovely hotel & (apart from the bed issue) great venue. We’re staying on our way home next Saturday and hope to enh - A beautiful hotel. Set in a wonderful village setting with super walks (Yellowcraig Beach a protected nature & wildlife reserve)in particular. The hotel staff were polite & most helpful. The ‘on site’ brasserie was very enjoyable & the food was great (as was breakfast). Our room (number 1) was small but quaint & nice done out. The main difficulty being the small double bed which for a big guy & better half led to a less than beneficial sleep. I do wonder whether single night stayers are designated such rooms whether by booking.com or private arrangements.
