Guest Reviews
- Claire (5/5): Beautiful Setting but Let Down by Cleanliness - Despite some positives, we wouldn’t stay again and were surprised by the number of great reviews.
We stayed for 2 nights, our 4-month-old baby, and my in-laws on our baby’s first trip away. The surroundings were beautiful - lots of wildlife including peacocks, birds, geese and horses, lovely hill views, and it was very quiet and peaceful. The house itself was well equipped for a family getaway with a good living space and kitchen area. Unfortunately, cleanliness let the stay down significantly. The high chair was dirty and unacceptable for our baby to sit in without cleaning first. The dining table had crumbs trapped in the grooves, the glasses in the cupboard were filthy and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival, we even found jeans left in a drawer, the sofas felt outdated and had dirt down the sides, there was a dirty tissue under our bed with what looked like bodily fluids, a bag of rubbish left in the bathroom from what I can only assume left from previous guests, food down the side of the cooker, plus dust and cobwebs in almost every room.
The additional charges also felt excessive. We were originally quoted £80 for our two miniature dachshunds for the stay, which felt unreasonable given their size and that they are not large dogs likely to cause significant wear or mess. I contacted the owner to question the fee as I found it very high, and she did reduce it by £30, which was appreciated. However, even with the reduction, the charge still felt disproportionate considering our accommodation for 4 adults was approximately £260 for the stay - meaning the original dog fee would have been almost a third of the accommodation cost.
There was also very little information provided about practical things such as how to use the heating or recommendations for nearby restaurants/takeaway options.
Such a shame because the setting itself is lovely, but the standards of cleanliness and attention to detail didn’t match expectations for the price.
- Felicity (8/5): Lovely: location superb; accommodation a great size; children loved being so close to farm animals. - Location and layout of the cottage was superb and availability of staff to answer queries was very good. The cottage sits in such a beautiful location and easily accommodated our group of 6 adults and 2 children. We felt there could have been a better range of kitchen utensils and small things like one of the kitchen kick back boards kept falling down but I know Becky was going to sort this. The door in the downstairs en-suite didn’t close properly and locks on some of the doors were not entirely child friendly so it would have been helpful if there was a notice to explain this. We had an issue with the shower flooding in the downstairs bathroom which was quickly sorted but we were left feeling that it was us causing an inconvenience rather than, as it clearly was, a problem that occurred every now and then.
- chloe (9/5): - Absolutely beautiful area, the property is a lovely size, clean and comfortable. Was the cheapest accommodation we have had this week and it's the best we have stayed in so far. Just a few tiny things, no tea towel and dish cloth, but there is a dishwasher. (didn't want to waste water using it for a few dishes).
Had a very early wake up call (5am) from the peacock.
Neither of these are a deal breaker to book again
- Emmanuel (10/5): Superbe expérience à refaire plus longtemps. - Calme, nature, paysage, les animaux de la ferme. Rien tout était parfait
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing - Great location to relax and unwind. Would definitely visit again. Nothing we didn’t like.
- ulrike (8/5): -
- andrina (7/5): -
- alistair (9/5): - Comfortable beds, clean and cosy. Beautiful cottage with sufficient amenities for a short stay. Great location with fantastic views. The peacocks were a bit loud in the morning!
- Karen (10/5): - The location, the accommodation, was absolutely superb. My husband and I stayed for two nights break, the cottage was absolutely fantastic, we will certainly recommend it, and we will most definitely return. Nothing
- Devenney (10/5): A trip I’ll remember forever, beautiful location shared with our closest friends - How light and bright the house is. Great for a big group getting together. We loved the farm animals roaming around and the views from the house of the hills were breathtaking Only critique was there weren’t full toilet rolls in the rooms. Which resulted in them finishing super quick and needing to buy more. That’s the only thing I can think of so nothing major !
- Elaine (9/5): -
- Derek (8/5): Nice relaxing break in a lovely house. - The peacocks at the back door. The view. The peace (we forgive the cockerels). The beautiful house. Nothing important.
- Gráinne (10/5): - We loved everything - the house, the views, the café. We will be back! The kitchen knives could do with a change - they were seriously blunt.
- James (10/5): -
- Yvonne (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): We enjoyed the stay in the Cottage Garden, the facilities were excellent & an ideal Location. - The location suited us great, & the on site deli & restaurant were very useful, enjoying breakfast several times. The room decoration was tired .

- Tilly (10/5): Would glady stay again - Beautiful place, warm and comfortable.

- Cameron (8/5): -
- Dianne (10/5): We loved our stay at Errichel. The house was amazing and it was so nice being located on a working farm. Would highly re - For a holiday cottage the property was exceptional. Clean, comfortable and in a brilliant location close to Aberfeldy. Cat friendly too which was a huge bonus. Nothing at all.
- Marjory (10/5): -
- Nina (10/5): -
- Arthur (10/5): Beautiful house in a beautiful place ! - House is stunning , everything we needed and such a tranquil environment! Views from the master bedroom are lovely! location is fab, only 5 minutes from aberfeldy..def be back !
- Karen (6/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): Fantasic - we will be back ! - Very spacious and lovely setting Nothing
- Pesur (10/5): - The house itself was incredible, beautiful interior, spacious, and very comfortable. The facilities were brilliant as well.
The location was also stunning. The owners were very accommodating and helpful.
- Jo (10/5): We all loved it, excellent venue and stay! - Beautiful views, huge rooms, very comfy sofas. Well equipped kitchen with huge table. Loved the underfloor heating! Great instructions re how to find the property. Loved seeing peacocks and geese on our doorstep (literally!) The small kids room could benefit from a soft lamp as the main light was very bright and was the only option.
- Val (10/5): Home from Home - Excellent property.
- lois (10/5): - Temperature ( nice and warm), bath, wood burner, parking right next to the cottage, view, lovely outdoor space, ducks and peacocks. There was no coffee pot, would have liked , ideally a bialetti (stove top)
- Barbara Anne S (10/5): An idyllic place - An amazing property with beautiful views. Great to have the log burner for warmth. Becky was so helpful. Would love to return when the Bistro, gift shop and all the facilities are fully operational in the season ,in March..
A very relaxing break. Thank you
- Calum (8/5): Great for local hiking options! - Delightful place just above from Aberfeldy.
Big comfy beds, amazing kitchen and living room. Very cosy. Just needs some shampoo/shower gel in all bathrooms for multiple guests.
- Morven (10/5): -
- Eamon (10/5): -
- Heather (9/5): -
- Kate (10/5): - The house was beautiful and everyone we met was lovely and helpful. Fantastic views and great location. The deli on site was great too! Nothing
- Ewan (10/5): -
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Diane (8/5): we had a great time - The living room and kitchen areas are beautilul. the location and views are spectacular. maybe a few more toilet rolls in the bathrooms. We had one adult in the bunk bed so unfortunately won't stay again unless this can be changed to a single bed on the floor.
- amys12 (9/5): Lovely relaxing stay - The property location is lovely, the farm is beautiful & enchanting. Staff all friendly and pleasant. The property itself was nice and dog friendly which was good. Had everything we needed. We had breakfast at the bistro which was nice and enjoyed walking around the farm. Nothing
- Savannah (9/5): Really fantastic! Loved the farm and the animals and everyone was super friendly. - Great location, very cosy! Unfortunately couldn’t light a fire as the wood was a little damp. Also the kitchen could have had a few more utensils like a baking tray for the oven.
- A D (9/5): Lovely stay in gree - House with 4 bedrooms (Taigh na Faire) was very spacious, warm an comfortable. Log burner created a cosy evening setting. Lovely views across the surrounding countryside. Great base to explore Perthshire and the Tay valley. No real dislikes
- Abby (9/5): - Huge and warm and beautiful. Lovely decor and very cosy for such a big space!
- Emma (10/5): Comfortable cottage - The location of the cottage couldn’t be better! The views are stunning and our toddlers absolutely loved the animals, which included chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, sheep, horses, pigs, and cows. The accommodation was spacious and the floor to ceiling windows in the living room made the most of the views. The children’s toys provided were great. Just a tiny thing: there was only one tea towel! Other than that, we had everything we needed.
- Natasja (7/5): - Great views It is dog friendly, the bed is big but shakes like a waterbed that is not filled up properly.
- Clare (7/5): Great location for walks and exploring the beautiful Perthshire country side - Location was beautiful. The upstairs kitchen and living room and bedroom were all very comfortable The house felt a bit unloved on the ground floor. The downstairs bedrooms were clean and comfy, but looked a bit bare, as if people had just moved out.
- Linda (9/5): -
- Philippa (9/5): -
- Jennifer Stewart (10/5): A cut above in aberfeldy - Beautiful and rural location within easy distance to incredible walks, towns, historic sites.
A working farm with all sorts of lovely livestock roaming. Particularly the humorous peacocks and geese.
They have their own beautiful farm shop - we got a cheese and charcuterie delivered while we were out on a walk. It was outstanding quality, and nearly all Scottish produced.
They have a nice breakfast/ lunch restaurant…but be advised, neither the shop nor the restaurant is open Wednesday/Thursday .
The place is really bigger than we expected- perfect for our framily group.
Oh- and for the meat lovers… the Aberfeldy butchers provided us an exceptional haunch of venison for our roast dinner. We love to cook, and the induction cook top was a bit outdated, but workable.
A few of the pans in the cupboards were not induction compatible. And there could have been a few more serving plates/ bowls. There was plenty of table settings and glassware.
- Neil (10/5): Fantastic accommodation in an lovely setting great for a weekend getaway with friends. - Large spacious accommodation, well equipped in a lovely setting. On site deli and cafe an added bonus. Farm tour was enjoyable and great to hear the story of the farm. Nothing to dislike.
- Roger (9/5): We will be booking again next summer! - Large living area. Easy parking. Restaurant next door. Smallest bedroom was very small but we did expect that.
- Wolfgang (10/5): -
- George (10/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): Wonderful holiday - Everything. The cottage was well presented, clean, and comfortable. Staff were, without exception, friendly, and helpful. Set in a stunning location. There was nothing with which to find fault.
- Sarah (8/5): Very comfortable - The location is excellent
- Bourne (10/5): -
- Sebastian (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheik (7/5): Good - Location, surrounded by nature, cute animals like around us, nature at best. We stayed in the Garden Cottage. The water was rainwater and not treated, which is not suitable for young children to use for bathing, etc. The owner could have informed us about this in advance. To be cautious, we used mineral water for our child’s bath.
- Niall (9/5): Superb -
- Elaine (10/5): A lovely place to stay in a fantastic scenic location. Would definitely visit again 😁 - Amazing location, spectacular views. The cottage was a good size with good facilities. Very comfortable but not too pristine that we would be worried about our dog staying. Staff were very helpful and the chef made ready meals from the deli were amazing. Was not expecting to be greeted by the peacocks ! But they soon moved away 😂
- Sheila (10/5): Peaceful & Relaxing - Loved the quietness, the views, just sitting out on decking soaking in the peace & quiet.there was the Cockerell walking about and making their presence known, that didn't bother us at all Can't think of anything
- Kirill (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, large, awesome nature around, contact pharm
- Kyle (9/5): Amazing stay - Location was beautiful, area surrounding the cottage with the animals was unique and fun, the cottage itself was nice and perfect for a weekend getaway Only thing I would’ve like is maybe a better tv, or a dvd player or firestick just to make that better but everything else was good
- Pauline (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (5/5): Disappointing, overpriced for the area and poor hygiene - Location and views are beautiful The property was clean inside, though the interior is quite dated and tired. It’s worth noting that the on-site restaurant is not open for dinner—a detail we only discovered after making a non-refundable booking, which was disappointing.
The outdoor space includes a patio with a table, bench, and two chairs, which has the potential to be a lovely spot to enjoy the views. Unfortunately, the area was covered in large animal droppings. While the owner cleaned the table upon request, the chairs remained dirty, making it impossible to sit outside. It was unhygienic and really off-putting.
The property manual mentioned a covered bin for dog waste at the front of the property, but we couldn’t find one. When I asked a member of staff, she was unsure and suggested I take the bag into the shop—which I didn’t feel comfortable doing.
We understand this is a working farm, and it was lovely to see the animals in their environment, but it would be reasonable to expect the guest patio area and furniture to be cleaned regularly. Unfortunately, due to these issues, we wouldn’t return or recommend the property.
- Brian (10/5): The whole weekend was tremendous. The property, shop & restaurant were tremendous. The menagerie of animals was an a - Its location & proximity to the wonderful scenery. Fantastic shop & restaurant on site.
- Alexia (8/5): Very good -
- Vishnu (10/5): The best possible stay at Aberfeldy - Excellent property and host Becky is very warm and responsive.
- Teresa (10/5): Ideal setting for a family get together. - Superbly well appointed and beautiful accommodation in awesome surroundings. Perfect for our family birthday celebrations. Nothing!
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Maureen (9/5): Great little cottage with everything you need in a fabulous location. - The location is perfect. The views from the cottage are superb. It's a very quiet peaceful place. The only thing that could be improved on is the mattress. I didn't find it comfortable.
- Gerrymulvenna (9/5): High quality accommodation in a great location - Really high quality accommodation in a great location. Great price for our two night stay. The quality of the furniture and the interiors is exceptional. Staff very attentive to welcome us. Only one snag - the ensuite shower temperature control needs adjustment. Its maximum temperature is only lukewarm though there was plenty of hot water available.
- Zach (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Clean and comfortable, great hosts and wonderful setting - Very warm welcome by the hosts, excellent cottage and facilities and amazing views
- Elaine (9/5): Excellent location, lovely cottage and caring hosts. - A lovely clean and comfortable cottage.
Owners kept in touch to ensure I arrived safely and all was in order.
Requested food purchased from the shop was delivered as expected.
Indeed, as the storm prevented me from leaving the cottage, the owners went out of their way to text me about the danger of travelling and to ensure I had all I needed, including food whilst I was holed up.
The darker skies in Aberfeldy around the farm meant I had good views of the planets in what was an interesting time in their alignment.
I can highly recommend a stay and I will be back! Thanks to both owners for your consideration and care. There was an unexpected issue with the heating in the living room which the owner attended to immediately and lit the log fire for me as I hadn't set one before. A skill I learned as a result! Lol
- Jill (9/5): Lovely setting and very handy for hill access. - Spectacular views.
Everything required in the kitchen.
Comfortable sitting room.
Plenty warm in the house once the heating kicked in. Nothing.
- Allan (10/5): Beautiful Location, Lovely Accommodation - Outstanding scenery. Picturesque cottage and views. Well appointed accommodation with parking outside. A few more lighting options in the livingroom would have been nice on the winter nights, but certainly not an issue.
- Corinna (10/5): Wonderful place to stay, couldn’t have been better. - Wonderfully spacious, warm, well equipped house with excellent facilities. Nothing!
- Maureen (7/5): Good -
- Jossian (9/5): Ideal vacation - The location was spectacular, the cottage we stayed in had everything we needed. having the bistro just a hop and skip away was perfect, and Paul's cooking was exceptional. It was just an ideal vacation with friends. the wifi was a bit spotty but we came to get unplugged so it was OK. But Becky was always available if to answer any queries or resolve any concerns ..so actually nothing we didn't like.
- Isabelle (10/5): Perfect - It was spacious, clean, excellent location, peaceful surrounds, comfortable beds, generous spaces, perfect for a family holiday! And the owner’s brother was very kind and helpful! Absolutely no complaints
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): We had a long weekend stay at Taigh na Faire, set over 2 floors with 2 double and 2 single rooms, each floor has its own - Clean, all bedding and towels supplied. Good selection of utensils in the kitchen, very comfy sofas and large dining table . Great finish and quality to bathrooms. Good private outdoor space. Nothing
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant - Views were lovely, on a clear day. Convenient parking outside the cottage, plenty of storage space, and peaceful . Cottage is dated and had quite a few cobwebs hanging around, couldn't use the shower in the en suite bathroom as the shower head kept falling off and to keep it up it nearly flooded the bathroom, there is no way to enjoy a drink in the village as its a long walk up the road and the taxi number we had just went to voice mail ,personally we didn't get to sample the restaurant or bistro as it closes at 4pm which was a bit early for us,
- Anne (8/5): Perfect mixture of self-catering and on site deli-shop and excellent Bistro restaurant. - We were in a self catering cottage but had breakfast once in The Bistro and it was excellent. My husband said the bacon roll he had was the best he had ever eaten and my homemade muesli with fruit was excellent. Toast - outstanding. The cottage was heated as promised, the log burner worked beautifully and the views from the cottage were superb. Nothing really. We were little wary of using the shower as the step up was a bit steep but we are oldies and there were no grounds for complaint.
- Maureen (8/5): Relaxing and comfortable stay with family. - Wonderful setting and views even on a dreich day. Staff were really lovely - welcoming and helpful.
It was a perfect combination for us - privacy to be together and share food in the cottage but also able to have breakfast and lunch in the lovely restaurant. Wood burner needs to build up ash in base to work properly. Instructions would also be helpful.
- Manish (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Location
Deli onsite
Views
Having a fireplace Decor - a bit outdated
Property would’ve benefited from heating up before
Host communication wasn’t the clearest
- Annica (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Great views and homely feeling
- Aditya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaylegh (10/5): 10/10 - Fantastic location and beautiful cottage. Becky was a brilliant host and we had a wonderful time with the animals.
The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, sofas and beds very comfortable and lovely log fire. Take away pizza and deli food was an added bonus and delicious breakfast served in the restaurant.
- Geraldine (9/5): Superb -
