- Johnson (1/5): - We stayed in room 5 and we had to walk down tge driveway in the dark they had old cupboards and dishwashers and rubbish everywhere it Looked nothing like the photos the bed looked like it had been slept in before we arrived the floor hadn't been vacuumed at all the room was a shed at the back of a house it was creepy and absolutely disappointing not worth our money at all took us ages to fall asleep because we just felt uncomfortable and we woke up as ea6as we could to just get out

- Paula (1/5): Worst Experience Ever - Nothing, The place does not look like the photos at all. It’s extremely dirty, unpleasant, and has a bad smell. When I arrived, they told me my room was number 1. When I opened it, the room was dirty, even though I had been in contact with them since 7 a.m. and they told me they would notify me as soon as my room was ready. They gave me another room, but honestly, there wasn’t much difference. There were cockroaches, and when I was about to go to bed, the sheets were full of food crumbs, as if they hadn’t been changed or washed.

- Sabrina (1/5): If you book this place to stay, and they then attempt to change your booking to another place, refuse like I wish I had - The location was great Everything was horrible. One hour out from arrival, I got a call to inform us that our room was no longer available, but they have a room for us at another location close by at 18 Railway Parade, Burwood. It was DISGUSTING! If we weren’t so pressed for time, we would’ve found another place to stay. The bed linen was stained, and obviously not cleaned as it had hair throughout, was dirty, and a half drunken water bottle was nestled between the wall and bed sheet when we pulled back the doona. We placed the towels (that we hoped were at least clean) and some of our clothes on the top of the bed to sleep on. We even considered going out to the car to sleep. There was no way we were going to use the shower as it was mouldy throughout. The entire apartment was stained, unclean, smelly, and old.

No parking was available on premises despite being told there would be some. We were then told that there was free parking in close street, but only certain hours. The house was very run down. The bathrooms were pokey and moldy. The kitchen was new. Photos on internet don’t truly represent the property.

Felt less like a rental and more like staying at a friend's gorgeous apartment. Location-wise it was perfect. Quiet street but super close to everything. We walked to the train in 5 mins, grabbed amazing coffee at that little corner spot (can't remember the name but it's two blocks left!), and felt properly connected. Coming "home" to a peaceful balcony after a busy day was priceless. The space itself is even nicer than the photos. That said, perhaps by a stroke of serendipity, the concept of “shared house” seemed to translate for some fellow residents into “behave exactly as you would at home.” My neighbours appeared to be hosting a gaming tournament of sorts, and at 4:30 a.m. one industrious soul decided it was the perfect moment to repair his car - conveniently illuminated by the front door light, directly beneath my room. So while the house was amazing, clean and beautifully maintained, and the room was a dream, the experience itself turned out to be more of a midnight nightmare.

However, the room only had one bed and a small cabinet, and for two guests we were only provided with one towel. There was no hairdryer and almost no basic amenities. The bathroom felt like it was converted from a laundry room, and there was no mirror inside, which was quite inconvenient. The room also had no air conditioning or fan, so it felt a bit stuffy. Great for access to burwood train station . 15 minutes train ride to Olympic Park. Will be booking again for future events, etc supernova and Oz comic con. Very home like feeling and best tabble to have dinner date at. No air conditioning not great for 40c heatwave but great access to Olympic Park for future events. No tv in the house. But phone and iPad are just as good while your traveling.

- GOLDARAZ (1/5): Appalling - Good location The photos they show of the property are not real. The comfort of the room is poor, old sheets, old pillows without filling, the kitchen is well cleaned but poor in equipment. The bathroom and shower are disrespectful with respect to the price they charge. Very bad experience with more people who were occupying other rooms, riots in the early hours of the morning and they took our things from the fridge.

He was saying that I could not stay in the room as the previous guest took the key to the airport and he didn’t have a spare key. So we needed to stay in his other property a few blocks away. He told us this would be an upgrade for us, sent some pictures through (after checking in at the property we realised one of these pictures were photoshopped) When we arrived at the property Burwood Family Guesthome we realised we were lied to as our new “upgrade” room was a very basic room in the garage!!! The wall on the picture he sent us was a brick wall but it actually was a garage door with a thin sheet in front of the door to cover it. Besides this at around 23.20 some new guests wanted to check in into the property and we realised that the front door of the house has the exact same code as our bedroom door!! So what happened was, a lot of new guests thought our door was the front door and opened it with the same code! From other guests we had a nice chat with, we heard the owner told them they couldn’t check in their room they booked, as the cleaner did not come.. A lot of lies… This couple also told us that when we left for a concert our bedroom door was wide open, even though that we locked it. Very unprofessional to use the exact same code for two different doors. This was our worst experience via a Booking.com accommodation.

All other guests had bookings at the original location but were told different reasons for not being able to stay? It appears to be a consistent theme of changing your booking and getting everyone in the new location? Suspect. Room lock meant you could be locked into your room. Shower flooded bathroom. Other guest was smoking in house.
