Guest Reviews
- Carol (6/5): Pleasant -
- Johnpaul (8/5): Very good -
- David (6/5): Room for improvement - Location Rooms had no ceiling fans or air conditioning also the downstairs room facing the river had a public towpath within metres of the window … I felt insecure when leaving the windows open that anyone could have entered the room … additionally the windows weren’t fitted with fly screens … consequently in hot weather it was inadequate . I also didn’t like the dual ownership concept … paying for the hotel which I thought included breakfast and then finding that a separate company owned the catering service which required additional payments
- Ketan (1/5): Poor experience - Location No hot water
- Florence (9/5): Beautiful, bittersweet - The closeness to restaurants and shops.
The staff were warm and welcoming.
The rooms were comfy and cosy Wasn’t told i would have to pay for parking. It just said parking available. £20 is too much to charge clients
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (1/5): Bad - !The location was excellent Booked 2 rooms ended up with a double bed
Wayer leak.
- Dean (5/5): Passable -
- Ketan (1/5): No hot water - Location No hot water
- Stacey (4/5): Disappointing - Paid extra for a nice view of the river and all I could see from the window were bushes, when I told reception they just said tough basically as they were fully booked also no hot water so cold showers
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Great , one night stay. - Clean. Perfect for what I needed Nothing
- Mohammad (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (1/5): Poor - Location No hot water in the room, not informed until I found out myself. No knowledge of when it would be fixed by staff, I found a hidden note in room mentioning it from 5 days previous. Breakfast very poor for price.
- Claire (1/5): Extremely disappointed. - Location Our room was on the bottom floor. The only ventilation were double doors which opened up onto the car park and visible from the main road.
My daughter and I didn’t feel safe.
I emailed the hotel directly with no response.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (9/5): Superb - None I been email to you but you don’t reply which it none boiler and it broke so I still wait for money refund and I want you email me asap so I don’t happy with it bec I got none shower or bath for 2 day so you own me £141
- Beverley (3/5): Poor - Location No hot water had to go down the corridor to a separate room to shower
Got issued with a twin room at first when I'd booked a double then reception was reluctant to change us
Very pricey breakfast so we walked into town to get one.
- Steve (5/5): Passable -
- Daisy (4/5): Disappointing - Clean friendly staff Booked with a view wasn’t much of a view. No hot water
- Anonymous (3/5): Noisy and dirty - Room was dirty
- Steven (5/5): Passable - The rooms looked nice Walls are paper thin. Added £10 parking charge the night before my booking. Mattresses were well worn with a topper on top. All the correspondence with the company were calling it Sundays..... yet there's not one sign on the building referring to that name so ended up doing 2 loops to find it.
- Emma (7/5): Lovely place just a few adjustments needed. - Beds were so comfortable. Lovely room with a view of the river. Friendly staff and fantastic location. Good size tv and no early check out. Hot water was very temperamental, either scolding or cold. So if you have children with you, be aware. Breakfast wasn't great for the price, no eggs, or mushrooms even though it was displayed on the menu.. coffee machine didn't work. Apart from that all good.
- Neil (10/5): Perfect 👌 - The location was perfect, room had all you need and the staff were more than helpful
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant - Poor breakfast, certainly not value for money No atmosphere in reception or bar area.
No bitter bear on draugh
- Jay (7/5): Very good for the price. - Nice location, very friendly and helpful staff and very affordable. I didn’t experience this personally but the car park does get fully occupied in the evening. Wanted to go for a late night drive but would have lost my parking spot 100%.
- Cody (4/5): Don’t upgrade waste of time didn’t get river view when we paid for it - Location was lovely Paid extra for river view and all we could see was trees in our window
- Bruce (9/5): The Quiet Gem on the Thames - The conversion of the property from Mercure to "SUNDAY GROUP". will show some significant improvements to the overall management and friendly style of the hospitality business. We returned to the property with river view and it was very kind, sweet and lovely. Beds overall are large and very functional and great for sleep, pillows the same.
Water pressure is under review with some rooms having older fittings, so be sure to let the front desk know if there are issues. The bar and garden if very functional and excellent culinary standard from its kitchen. The entire building is digital, so it's very secure so remind yourself to write down codes etc.
The facility location is excellent for BICYCLE CLUBS and ROWING CLUBS and RUNNING GROUPS.
The facility doesn't have an elevator so be aware if you have stair-issues.
- Howard (6/5): Cheap for outer London but only suitable for Saturday and Sunday stay. - Breakfast with a view of the Thames. Cleanliness of the whole property. Staff member who covered the breakfast area was charming. Reception staff pleasant. My main problem was being charged for two nights parking, I made it clear on my arrival on Friday evening that i would be taking the car with me during the day and returning at night. So, the receptionist charged me for two night and yet he must have know or had prior knowledge of the issue of no spaces in the hotel car park normally. I had to drop off my colleague who has heart health issues and then find parking nearby. A senior staff member (A lady.) offered to move her car after I had found parking elsewhere. A nice gesture but not practical having to walk back to my car again after an 11 hour working day.
The Friday night trains nearby where very noisy and stopped me have an early evenings sleep.
- Rachel (7/5): Good - Close to Legoland Parking, paid £10 for a few hours
- Atwa (8/5): Very good -
- Heather (8/5): Very good - The hotel is nice although looks a lot more rural in the pictures. The breakfast was nice and the room comfortable Parking was difficult small car park on hotel so had to park in pay and display next door and get up at 6am to renew parking which you could not do the night before. Not as rural as looks on website and bar was very expensive
- Bruce (9/5): A quiet gem on the river with privacy and wholesome British standard - The property is rebranded with the SUNDAY (hospitality group). no longer MERCURE.. I found this reconditioned lodge on the THAMES a gem. perfect for sports groups, has good water pressure in the rooms, small heaters provided, windows permit air flow, property is a digital payment system only, no cash and the bar and restaurant are very good and functioning with a professional standard. The front of house management is under the fine control of Anna, a well trained manager with very polite manners. There is no elevator in this property, so its for the healthy younger souls. everything is good to go!
- Rawlinson (7/5): It’s good, but that’s all. - Nice location, comfortable room. Finding the room was like solving a labyrinth.
- Genevieve (4/5): Shame about the hot water issue as it would otherwise have been great! - Comfy bed, pretty river views, nice room amd bathroom with bath. Friendly staff, straightforward check in. No hot water! I had to wash my hair using water from the kettle
- Victoria (7/5): Good -
- Bruce (9/5): The GEM OF STAINES for lodging and party goers. Its a non-cash facility electronically protected - STAINES ON THAMES IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST KEPT SECRETS OF LEISURE LIFESTYLE AND SETTLEMENT. ITS HOT WITH PROPERTY MOVEMENTS (Signs everywhere) Across from the Newly marketed name on the THAMES LODGE IS "SUNDAY" PROPERTIES is the COXED FOUR and COXED ONE racing rowing boats. See photo. As the new owners rebrand the property, it was left in excellent shape from the former owners(MERCURE) and the only stipulation is that you know there are only STAIRS. So for the good healthy walkers and runners PERFECT. It takes about 2 minutes to get to your room but the rooms are ll lovely. WATER PRESSURE excellent, towels excellent sheets excellent
amenities, basic. 12 hour a day food service kitchen with coffee bar and alcohol excellent. And the place was busy.
Great for bicycle teams, and rowing groups and there are special rooms with super sized beds by the way!
AND the host leader Ms. Anna from Brazil is a very well trained front of house person and handles all affaires very well. For the branding : please renew all the flowers and plants in the front of the building . substitute the old for
Japanese Maples or something of that kind. and refresh all the boxes. Keeping the property from Parking Lot to front of building perfectly clean could be part of the dailies.
- Ashleen (9/5): Excellent! - Great venue, situated on Thames with amazing and friendly staff. Nothing
- Joy (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (10/5): Comfortable room, great location. Good value! - Great location right on river, lovely view from room - easy from the M25 - perfect for onward travel.
Staff really friendly especially at breakfast!
Food for breakfast and dinner was really good.
Bed was really spacious & very comfortable. Difficult to actually find the property as it is not called London Thames View / Palette on any signage!
It seems to be called the Thames Lodge!!
- Malcolm (5/5): BAD START BUT OK FROM THEN ON - THE PROBLEM WE HAD IS THAT THE LONDON THAMES VIEW VINTAGE DOES NOT EXIST WE DROVE UP AND DOWN THE ROAD 3 TIMES IN THE END MY WIFE WENT INTO THE TUDOR LODGE HOTEL TO ASK IF THEY COULD HELP .
They said this is the hotel you are looking have you booked through booking .com as we keep getting people with wrong info from booking .com
WE ALSO THINK THE BREAKFAST WAS TO EXPENSIVE SO WE WENT OUT FOR BREAKFAST BOOKING .COM SHOULD SORT OUT THERE ERRORS
THE QUICKER THE BETTER
- Matthew (5/5): Passable - Booked hotel with a different name then after searching for our hotel it turns out it’s called something else and looks nothing like the pictures
- Jus (5/5): Food provided was poor - The food was not great neither was the pricing Food was not great
- Calverley (8/5): Very good - Lovely location, and 24 hr check-in Being charged an additional £10 for parking. This was not on the booking or made aware to me until I had checked in - no option but to pay. This was 'rent-seeking'. At least all guests should be made aware at time of booking.
- Terry (8/5): Very enjoyable - The stay was very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything I didn't like
- Stevan (6/5): Pleasant - Close to Staines high street. Had one of the worst nights in a hotel room of my life here. Decided to pick the "lake view" room, which I thought to be quieter for bring on the back of the building. Turns out there is a train line at the back of this hotel, with trains passing every 5 minutes. They stop close to 1am and start again at around 5 something.
The room had a strong mold smell and the radiator knob was broken - it was boiling hot overnight. Trying to talk to someone at the reception about it but there was nobody.
Mattress way too soft.
- Mindy (9/5): Great location for Heathrow. - Clean and modern Please change the name as it says a totally different name on the front and we were looking for the Sunday Hotel
- Omidi (1/5): Bad - Only the location The name of the hotel was absolutely something else in reality
There is no contact details
Phone numbers are not working
No website
No Email address
There is only an auto response on booking.com chat service!
There is absolutely no way to contact them rather than going there (In case you become so lucky to find them cause you can’t find them on google map by searching the name)
The facilities which are mentioned on booking.com are completely wrong!😑
They mentioned kitchen and kitchen facilities and fireplace and hairdryer …. Which is an absolute joke cause I couldn’t find any of these and after I complained at the reception, they offered bottles of orange juice and water and soda!
- Sandra (8/5): Lovely comfy stay - Hotel very clean and tidy. Nice bar and patio area overlooking the river Thames. Very comfy bed, quilt and pillows. All clean and fresh. Large bathroom with large walk in shower, all recently refurbished.
Stains town centre a short walk away. River wal goes right past the back of the hotel along the river bank Hotel has a different name on the front so was confusIng to find. £10 parking charge for parkI got permit for our one night stay. A bit of noise from the train.
- Corish (7/5): Good - Ease of Access to thorpe park Expensive breakfast
- Nat (10/5): Good value - No breakfast was included however we have had this before and was good. Location was beautiful Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Location was good close to the shops and bars Car parking was advertised through booking as free public parking it wasn't 10pound a night I parked in public car park 200 meters down the road cost me 11 pound
- Naidoo (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location Cold environment, bit outdated
- Mariusz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (8/5): Nice stay and good price.. breakfast expensive and hotel looking slightly tired - Location and price were good. Staff were friendly and helpful Parking is chargeable and very limited so beware.. air con didn’t work and looks like it hasn’t worked for some years due to the age of the controller.. not needed on this trip but it is already quite a warm hotel
- Mohammad (1/5): Bad - Do not stay in this hotel , there’s no free packing and if you plan to stay in there parking they gonna charge you
- Deb (7/5): Ok - Location to local market and path along the Thames. Big comfortable bed. Felt reception wasn't particularly welcoming. Room was crowded, bathroom needed some maintenance.
- Erik (5/5): Passable -
- Rj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evans (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (10/5): Overall everything perfect and wud recommend it to friends and family - Lovely polite staff ,very clean, comfortable bed, cudnt say anything bad about it , definitely stay again . Everything
