- Michael Somodi (3/5): soggy week. - The first day was nice but then the rain came. The neighbourhood is close to the water. Before the rains came it was nice to drive out and along the street which later was full of water and mud. It was handy to have the board game and flashlights but there were no instructions for the board game. During the floods the street was not accessible and power was out for more than 3 dyas. We communicated about where to park our car as we were confused and received a non commitale generic answer. We got lucky and out parking spot was not flooded. Also we were fortunate that the unit did not have water but there was no communication from the unit as to possible compensation as there was no electricity for over 2 days. We had lots of food spoil. pool and hot tub were closed as expected but not able to be used. The mud blocking the driveway took a number of days to clear in order to drive out. I understand that this was a very large storm but in talking with the neighbors it is not the only storm that has happened in recent years. This may not be the nest place to stay if it rains. once we were able ot get out we were able ot turn right out of the drive way but not left and had to drive around to get to town. Local beach was greatly effected by the storm but we did drive further north and found great places to hang out during the day. I would look for something on higher ground next time out of the way of a natural flood route.
