- Kumaran (8/5): Very Good Host, Top floor property without lift facilities, Excellent location for central London - We couldnt open the lockbox on the property as it was stuck, but the host managed to send someone quickly to handover the keys personally !! The property was on the top floor with 5 flights of steep stairs to get there. If I had known at the time of booking I wouldnt have booked. If it was mentioned in the listing, I definitely missed it !
- Peter (10/5): - Sengene var ikke specielt gode at sove i
- FABIEN (10/5): Check in et Check out facile. Emplacement de rêve. Hote très disponible. - L’emplacement parfais Rien
- ibrahim (8/5): Great Location - The position of the flat is enormus you can walk everywhere , you can find even modern shopping or old town , museums and castles just walk. Flat is quite comfortable for 2 Adults and 2 Children the stairs are not really comfortable to climb , the flat was quite comfortable , but the wood floors and washing machine were too noisy
- adnan (3/5): Never again, location is good and that's just about it. - Just location, everything else is not good No elevator and it has 4 stories (which booking should warn people before allowing them to book!)
Very old apartment, almost feels like in the 1800s (floor is very squeaky)
No Air-conditioning and No air fans!!!
- Vanessa (9/5): Bardzo polecam to miejsce - Wspaniała lokalizacja, czysto, ładnie, wszędzie blisko Ciśnienie wody pod prysznicem, brak klimatyzacji przy upalanych dniach przeszkadzał ale były wiatraki
- Alexander (8/5): Fantastic location - Great location and a balcony for sitting outside The internet is very bad
- Jessie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (7/5): Perfect location, apartment a bit tired. - Location!!! It's doesn't get much better than the location! It was a lovely size and had everything we needed. We really liked the little balcony. It's above a pub where people stand on the street all night and it's really noisy for those sleeping on the sofa bed.
It's up 3 flights of really steep stairs so older people might struggle like my mum did.
The apartment is a bit tired, things falling apart and broken.
The hot water was a struggle. Bathroom tap was a struggle and it took so long to get anything from the kitchen tap.
None of this affected our stay too much. It just feels a bit lazy from the owners as things could easily be fixed and it would be really lovely.
It wins all day long on its location right next to Trafalgar square.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (8/5): Excellent location, nice and comfortable place. - Very convenient location, comfortable place, very responsive hosts. Even though the property is in a very central location, the place is well insulated for noise.
- Vinodhan (8/5): Great Location - Nice & spacious. Great location. Enjoyed our stay. No lift. We (my wife, daughter & I) were travelling for a month so we had a big bag each (20+ kg) & hand luggage as well. There were no lifts. We had to carry our bags up 4/5 flight of stairs. No pleasant at midnight when we got in.
- Giancarlo (6/5): Disappointing for the price - Very good location Pub on ground floor, packed at our front door with drinkers and smokers who then urinate on the front door every night. Having to open a front door to loads of urine and carry the pram over it. Staircase is super steep and almost dangerous at the top level as you enter the apartment. Families avoid for sure or anyone who does not fancy a long steep stair case over 4 flights of stairs. Bed is very small and uncomfortable. Shower is poor and very small too.
- Matlala (10/5): Exceptional - Location, design, quality. Responsive staff Stairs to 3rd floor, doable but worth knowing they are there.
- Francy (8/5): Very good -
- Abdulkarim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lieneke (9/5): Wonderful stay! - The beds, the dining room, the location, and the toilets! Shower pressure low, shower leaks into the room, not enough cooking utensils.
- Lapasrada (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (3/5): Location is perfect but except that, the level of accomodation is medium to poor. - The double bed was not exactly double. It was more like a 1,5 people bed while the distance from the wall was 30cm... The water in the shower had an interrupted and not adequate flow. The sofa where the kids were supposed to sleep was without linen and we had to set up the bed. There is no lift and there are many stairs which makes luggage carrying a challenge (to be fair, this was described, but still it is tough).
- Janine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (6/5): Great location; adequately comfortable - The location was fabulous! The space was good for 2 people and there was a good kitchen for casual cooking. There were 5 flights of steep, winding stairs to the flat and no lift; do not book if you cannot carry your luggage up that far. There was wifi, but not very fast. We had significant difficulties with the bathroom door sticking and scalding shower temp that was not adjustable.
- Mike (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (5/5): Won't be back. couldn't find it initially and then had to walk to the lock box and back. - When I booked through booking. com it was not made clear that I would have to pick up the keys from a lock box 15 mins away. It was heavy rain and I got absolutely drenched walking both ways. The accommodation itself is also pretty basic.
- Manisha (5/5): Location good but high priced - Location good No AC
No lift to reach 5th floor
- Padrig (10/5): I am coming back - Amazing location, couldnt have wished for better Stairs but it didnt affect our stay
- Hayk (1/5): Place for 2 people for 2 nights max, if you prefer to stay in center, no suitcases and good physical shape to climb the - Location It was all about survival and quest.
Front door locker was defected and it was a big question if will open or not at all. Every time you would finally succeeding to open the front door by a miracle and struggle with key and lock for an average of 10 mins you would feel survived and happy to get into!
It was kind of “Open Sesame” quest.
Next thing was that shower tube was too small (which itself is fine in 1BR apartment of the city center) and when you take shower you risk to burn up your back (happened to me and my wife) because of hot metallic mixer shower.
Shower tube and toilet were leaking water, so you would have a constant slippery and wet floor at bathroom.
Bed for 2 person was mega-narrow.
Fridge camera stinks a fish or something like that, so you would prefer to keep the door closed and would never use the fridge.
Be ready that internet would not work by arrival and you will see a host notice advertising another network and saying “Surf the internet it’s on Farankie”, but what’s the use of its not functioning. After a while you would find another network thanks to correspondence with the hosting service.
That’s the only one apartment in that block of the building, but it is on the top floor (an import at info missing in ad), there is NO elevator and there are vertically angled stairs, so if you arrive with heavy suitcase it’s definitely not your place to stay
- Qingfeng (8/5): Best location - The position of this apartment is really convenient and easy to go. Only take 2 minutes walk to the Charing Cross and 3 minutes to Leicester Square and 6 minutes to Embankment (underground and pier)。You can find Chinese, Japanese and British style food just within 5 minutes walk. You can buy grocery at Saintbury store or buy musical tickets at the Leicester Square. There are 3 main issues I have to stress here.
1. You have to collect apartment key from other location that about 6 minutes walk away. And please remember the lockbox is not the lower one which uses the dial. It's a digital pad and you have to pull the cover out after the code has been imputted.
2. No lift are available in the apartment building, you have to consider the weight of your luggages.
3. A little bit noisy around the building because of there are two bars just next to the door of apartment. Earplug is highly recommend。 Should give more detailed instructions on how to collect apartment key.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Very good apartmentnear Trafalgar Square, very good for a family vacation -
- Marios (3/5): Hassle over nothing - Location Hassle finding the keys was given unclear instructions. The door was 45-46 and was told it’s 45. The keys wouldn’t work bad lock when got there. Towels on sofa bed not bathroom
- Jacob (8/5): Nice place but needs a little maintenance - Location and size of accommodation we're really convenient for our last-minute booking. We are a family of four and my teenagers did okay sharing the sofa bed for two nights. Shower was not working properly... Water was dangerously hot and not adjustable without using a blunt object to force the handle stop down.
- Wiktoria (9/5): Superb -
- Maya (8/5): the location is great, setting up the stay such as finding the keys and getting extra blankets was a challenge but the h - Great location check in was a little confusing(I.e. finding the lock box once we got to the address) locating extra towels and blankets for additional guests wasn’t obvious
- Vilius (8/5): The stay was great, I would choose this apartment next time. - The apartment is in a very good location, however it is in the city center, so noise cannot be avoided. The apartment was tidy and spacious. Our family of four felt comfortable. "Frankiesays" is a good host. There is no place to hang coats in the hallway.
- Ana (9/5): Enjoy - Very well located, comfortable place, all facilities you need.
An advise: write in the message with instructions for taking the keys, that they are placed in a black box with code, and the name of the shopping store were is located the box. Google maps is not giving exactly the address. n/a
- Johansson (7/5): Convenient - Nice and convinient appartment when travelling with friends. It was a little bit complicated to find the keys.
- Annie (7/5): excellent large airy bright flat in an amazing location - location and size the bedroom blinds are all broken so you cannot open them in the morning without rolling them up very frustrating light bulbs needed in kitchen lounge and bedroom. Bed is very small for two people. luckily we were only 2 and used the sofa bed.
- Meghan (5/5): Passable -
- Mia (10/5): lovely place!! 💕 - very comfy
great location
super helpful staff
everything that I needed
thank you so much, Frankie 💖☺️
- Gavin (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vicki (7/5): Good -
- Rebecca (9/5): Great centrally located apartment to explore London - Excellent location in the centre of London. Good set up for a family or couple. The stairs while unavoidable were steep. The shower was tiny. Collecting keys from a separate location. The second set of keys were incomplete.
- Ze (4/5): hard to say - only location 1: the apartment is top of the building and only access with narrow stairs very hard to reach 2: the bed is very small 3: ambulance car and police is ringing everyday whole night 4: everything is old too old , door handle hard to open like 80s, The chair creaked when sitting on it.
- Shir (5/5): All in all, I was pretty disappointed with the way things were handled but at least it was a decent price for what we go - Great location. Very spacious. Decent price. We got only one key for the four of us, even though there was a note in the apartment that said that there are two set of keys. We had to ask for the second set.
When we arrived, there were ants in the apartment, one of the door cabinet in the kitchen was loose, there was only one tea spoon, the porch light didn’t work, the sheet for the sofa bed had little holes and water leaked from the hose of the shower head and also from the shower wall. At first we tried contacting them through an email that was provided to us but no one replied. After a few days we tried a different mail and got finally an answer. The guy that came to fix all the issues was very nice and tried to do his best. Unfortunately, it took a few visits to fix most of the issues and it was nearing the end of our trip. We got the second set of keys very late into our stay. They didn’t succeed fixing the problem with the shower and until they arrived the first time we got rid of the ants ourselves…
I read the comments about the stairs from other reviews, but until I got there I didn’t fully understand how uncomfortable it is, especially if you need to carry a lot of luggage. My mom also wasn’t a fan…
It’s very steep and there are a lot of stairs.
