Guest Reviews
- jesus salvador (10/5): Un lugar cómodo y de fácil acceso y buenas comunicaciones. - La ubicación es excelente y el apartamento muy cómodo. Las camas más blandas de lo normal. Los muelles de los colchones eran molestos.
- Amy (8/5): Great value for money for location and size - Excellent location and spacious for a group of 8. Easy instructions to collect keys and small elevator for ease of getting suitcases upstairs. Large kitchen with suitable cooking facilities. Bedding was thoroughly warm. Neatly presented The central heating didn't work consistently but there were small room heaters supplied so we weren't cold. Water pressure of the showers on the main living floor is very low, not sure if that's just a London thing or not. Lots of street noise for the 2 bedrooms facing the street.

- Katrina (3/5): THE NON REFUNDABLE FULL PAYMENT IS ALREADY SUSPICIOUS - It was close to the town and places we would like to visit. But too noisy even at 3am. I booked this Airbnb without reading the reviews beforehand, which in hindsight, I really regret. It's a non-refundable booking, so once I made the payment, I was stuck with it, which already made me feel uneasy. Honestly, I wouldn’t have booked it if I had seen the negative feedback earlier. Luckily, it wasn't a scam, but if something had gone wrong, my entire family including my two senior parents—would have no place to stay. That could've been a disaster!
Months ahead of the trip, I reached out to the hosts, as I was concerned about the bad reviews. They assured me that any issues would be sorted out by the time we arrived. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case, and a few things were still off about the apartment.
1. Wrong Door Code
Upon check-in, we were given the wrong door code, which meant we had to wait on the sidewalk for a while before we could get inside. While the host eventually responded quickly, I couldn't help but worry about what would have happened if it had been late at night, and they hadn’t checked their messages. That would’ve been a major issue for any guest.
2. Accessibility
I know it's a penthouse, so I expected it to be at the top of the building, but the elevator was incredibly small—only two people could fit without luggage. I reserved the elevator for my elderly parents and then followed by the luggage in multiple trips. It wasn't the end of the world, but it definitely wasn’t convenient.
3. Issues with the Apartment
As is my usual practice, I checked everything in the apartment when we arrived, and I was disappointed to find several things that were either broken, not functioning properly, or just not as advertised. This added to the frustration of our stay, especially since I had been reassured that everything would be ready and sorted.
- THE MAIN BROWN DOOR HAS NO LOCKS
-THERE IS ONGOING RENOVATIONS THAT AFFECTED POTABLE WATER, AND ONE LESS BATHROOM WHICH WAS NOT ADVERTISED
-VENTILATION
-WIFI IS TERRIBLY SLOW
- André (7/5): Nice multi family apt. - The location is perfect. It is on a 4th floor but has an elevator. Being so high means its further away from the street noise, still a quiet neighborhood. House was fully equipped, we only used the kitchen for breakfast and noticed limited number of cups and mugs.
- Susan (5/5): Good family property in a great location but not a luxury penthouse - Brilliant location for a London tourist. 15 mins or so from many main attractions. Good size property with plenty of space for a large family group. The property needs a bit of maintenance. The ceiling in one bedroom leaked and had been for some time judging by the stains and paint peeling. The heating was OK but some radiators didn’t work at all so need bleeding.
- Wgw (7/5): Too much hassle and a bit of a con to be honest - Decent apartment but…… The booking fee actually isn’t the fee. You get slammed with a cleaning fee which is charged separately and almost doubles the booking. You then get charged with a cleaning and damage deposit of £250.00 that takes almost a month to be returned to you! Disgraceful. A £336.00 booking turned into a nearly a £550.00 booking and an £800 charge to my card. Misleading advertising and should be stopped immediately - advertising false pricing became illegal decades ago in the UK.
Wasn’t given the accommodation address before arrival, and left stood on the street in Westminster, had to call the help line number constantly, key pick up in another location and the door access code we were given was the wrong one. No departure instructions given either.
We were in London to perform at one of the Royal Family’s charity Christmas parties which is stressful enough, but dealing with getting in and out of this place was a farce - we felt more like foreign spies than guests. Why the need for such ludicrous secrecy?
- Daniele (5/5): Passable - The property was nice, location is good with nice pubs close to it, same for the tube stop. 1. Heating System: In certain rooms, the heating system is not operational, and the thermostatic valves appear to be broken. This has left parts of the apartment uncomfortably cold, particularly as temperatures drop.
2. Shower Temperature Control: The upstairs shower has no functional temperature control, causing only scalding hot water to come through. This issue poses a significant risk, as one resident nearly suffered burns while attempting to use it.
3. Electric Heaters: We attempted to supplement the heating with the electric heaters provided; however, only one of them seems to be in working condition, leaving us without adequate heating options.
4. Towels: Finally, we found some towels in the apartment that appeared to be unclean, which was concerning in terms of hygiene and comfort.
- Jasmyn (1/5): Terrible company to book through, avoid avoid avoid! - Location Bad maintenance- black mould in the bathroom, kitchen doors hanging off, integrated dishwasher not integrated so tipped when opening the door, shower door hanging off, toilet flush was temperamental, lift not working, marks on walls, pan rings all over kitchen counters
Staff were very poor. Poor communication prior, information was required but only asked for the day before and the day of the stay. I needed to provide a full itinerary of my stay, everyone’s ID and photos of them holding IDs which were only requested 5 hours before check in. Continuous messages from the staff of the property throughout the say. Calls to ask to enter the property during our stay and when we asked them to only enter whilst we were at the property, staff were very rude and hung up on us. We tried to contact them via telephone twice to chase up how to check in as we were only send information of how to retrieve the keys right before our arrival and when we phoned we were hung up on twice!
- Adam (1/5): Awful - Not alot, awful place to stay along with terrible customer service. No hot water for two thirds of the stay, poor cleanliness, bare electrics leaving it unsafe. Lift also broken for sometime. My stay here. No hot water, bare electrics, really really poor customer service. Key pick up was difficult and instructions didnt match requirments. Lift was also broken.
- Livia (7/5): Good -
- John (7/5): Good -
- Adam (3/5): Worst accommodation experience ever - Plenty of space and in a great location on Charlotte Street. It had not been cleaned when we arrived late in the evening. Firstly, the key wouldn’t work at the street door to the apartment block. I was stood outside with my family, including young kids, trying to get in for ages. Finally got in and there were lights out in the stairwell leading to the front door of the flat and the stairs were very steep. I had not been sent the link for the remote door locking/unlocking app but it turned out the front door was already unlocked and open when we arrived. This really worried us and I had to get my family to wait outside while I checked the flat was safe and empty.
The flat was an absolute mess! Bedsheets and towels everywhere, dirty dishes, glasses, tissues scattered, even a disgusting mess in the toilet. The last people had left their keys there too. My children were worried that someone might come back to the flat and so I had to reassure them that wouldn’t happen. Other issues such as the dishwasher tipping forward when open and nearly depositing all it’s contents on the kitchen floor, and bare electrical cables hanging from the ceiling in the hallway, made our first night a nightmare. We were offered another place but it was too far away and it was late and I had to feed my kids so we decided to do a quick clear up. The cleaners delivered some sheets and towels (it was gone 10pm by this time) but didn’t make the beds as it was too late so we had to do that. A full clean was conducted the following day whilst we were out but there was no complimentary offerings left as an apology and they didn’t even replenish the tea and coffee. I spent a long time communicating with the customer services team to try and resolve all these problems and so it really affected our stay in London (it was my eldest daughter’s 16th birthday). I was also told that they were dealing with a lot of these kinds of issues so they obviously are not doing a good job across other properties too.
- Sarah (1/5): avoid - We didn’t stay there.
1. After booking they tell you the flat is for sale and there could viewings during your stay.
2. On our arrival the boiler was broken, after several hours, at nearly midnight with three young children and an OAP in the group we had to pay for our own taxis across London to a location much less central that would have been cheaper.
3. I would not describe the flat as luxury. It’s a strange layout with single glazing and a pretty dated feel.
4. Dirty kettle and used plaster on bed.
5. No one has contacted us to apologise or talk about compensation.
In short, avoid.
