Guest Reviews
- TAL (10/5): -
- Lin (10/5): Super comfortable and private - Private and cozy
- Nantanee (8/5): - The entire hotel seemed to have only our room occupied, which made it very peaceful. The online reception was extremely convenient, and everything was spotless. Overall, everything was excellent. The only downside was on the night it rained. There was a drainage pipe right above the head of the bed, and the noise was incredibly loud—so loud that it could be heard very clearly inside the room all night. Unfortunately, it kept me awake and made it very difficult to sleep.

- Ha Cong Duy (10/5): Had the most amazing stay at hotel Yoina in Hakone. 10/10 would come again next time - Very clean, modern interiors, plenty of amenities, and an amazing garden for a relaxing stay. N/A
- Lily (9/5): -
- JUNYA (8/5): -
- Joseph (9/5): We will be back again! - Feels like in a private detached house except there is someone living on top of us. Wish the front parking space has a covered carport.
- Carmen (9/5): -
- Jasmin (10/5): - Washing machine kept showing an error at first, something with the water? Everything else was perfect! We did have a car to get around though.
- Riku (10/5): -
- lamillard (10/5): Absolutely beautiful - Everything was fantastic. There were drinks and snacks left out for us, the property was gorgeous and clean, modern and beautiful. Our favourite place in our whole Japan trip!
- yamamoto (10/5): -
- Su Lynn (10/5): - The stay was perfect as the room was so spacious and clean. Design of the house is warm and we felt so comfortable staying over the night. Everything is perfect!

- James (10/5): Great hidden gem - Exceptional little hotel, more like a mini apartment. Pleasant with comfortable beds and a sofa. The zen garden is so cute. The communication ahead of check in (done remotely) was extensive yet concise. Really quiet neighbourhood and well located for Hakone and Gotemba. Not a problem for us but would note that you pretty much need a car for this hotel.
- Kent (10/5): Immaculate property in good location. - Complete perfection and attention to detail. Every need covered.
- Barak (1/5): Don't book this - The garden We booked the place for 3 adults. The 3rd adult is supposed to sleep on a sofa bed. No sheets or pillows were provided, and while there was a blanket, it was a summer blanket that seems like it's supposed to be for the people sleeping in the beds (there was no regular blanket for the 3rd person). This place was clearly not prepared for 3 adults, which is annoying because we booked it for 3 adults. Location is bad and the house is located on an extremely narrow road which at night was a nightmare.
- james (9/5): Lovely property but some challenging aspects - Beautiful property, and very zen ! Lots of modern touches. Drinks and nibbles appreciated. Would have been nice to have a kitchen sink near the microwave and fridge. Very difficult to prepare food. There’s a 4 11 store and a good supermarket nearby. Also there is no one on site to talk to re getting around Hakone. We had to ask the reception at another property to get the lay of the land.
A minor point but I only had a three pronged electric plug to charge my phone. All the points are for two prongs ! My phone uses a USB-C cable , and they only had the old USB charging ports. Taxis are hard to find, so totally rely on buses unless you have a car. Make sure you understand their bus services.

- Maytal (9/5): - It’s a small, private villa with a garden - which actually surprised us, as we somehow didn’t realize that was the concept from the listing, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the automatic check-in, and a hotel staff member had to come to the room in the evening to sort it out, which wasn’t ideal but understandable under the circumstances. Other than that, the experience was excellent, and the place is really worth it.
- Christian (10/5): - Une petite maison tranquille à côté de Hakone!
Check in rapide grâce à la tablette !
- Glen (9/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): - Really nice place to stay, very chilled, super clean, we really we enjoyed it. Shop is really close to walk to, but you definitely need a car to get around and see Hakone. 10/10 from us :)
- Stuyvesant (7/5): -

- Niv (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arale (9/5): Superb - Pro is only us stay in one family one whole house
Gave us complementary snack and bottle of champagne so lovely. Location is 2 minutes away from 7-11, need the car move around.
- Chengyou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (6/5): Check-in 3/10 🧐🤨apartement 9 - We booked this apartment 5 months before our trip to Japan.
The owner requested us to mail copies of our passports and our personal information to him.
2 days before arriving, we received an email with the entry code of the front door and a check-in code.
It took us 4 attempts to open the front door.
Then there was a tablet to enter our check-in code, the data of both of us, photograph both our passports with the tablet . . . to end up with a “failed” message.
We then had to push a call button to get in contact with a call-center who again asked us to give all our data and show our passports.
Finally, a code to open the apartment door appeared, which we took care to photograph immediately.
As if all this electronic check-in stuff wasn’t enough, the apartment was full of electronics with buttons marked in Japanese.
Airco command without temperature indication but only + or - degrees, bathroom with heating/ventilation commands, washing/drying mashine with same Japanese characters.
Through a QR code, one is able to get basic information on how to start/stop the washing machine, but not how to set the washing cycle or temperature.
The lights in the hallway are equipped with motion detectors to make sure you will be wide awake when you go to the bathroom at night.
However, once you open the door, you will be greeted by a toilet that opens it’s lid automatically and lights up with a soft blue light.
DO NOT DISCARD your check-in code as you will need to re-enter it at check-out.
Be aware that getting to the apartment can only be done with a compact car. The streets are so narrow that one prays not to scratch the car on the rocks and walls protruding on the sides and, even more, not to encounter a car coming the other way.
The apartment and garden are very nice. The amenities and welcome drinks and snacks very thoughtfull.
Don’t know who the owners are, but they must be nice & gentils robots.
- Chen (10/5): Exceptional - Everything.
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional - It's a really amazing place, with all the facilities, including washing machine
- Marcin (10/5): Just perfect! - Just perfect! Very spacious apartment with access to a small Japanese garden. Super clean and cosy. Good place for a relax after long days of sightseeing and travel. Wonderful neighbourhood - small quiet village close to local attractions, but you definitely need a car to move around. Complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, beer and snacks were very nice add on to this stay. I would definitely choose this place again and recommend it to everyone. Nothing. It was just perfect and exceeded my expectations. I have rented it for only one night. I should have stayed there one or two more days.
- Ricky (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing place, especially if you have a car to get around otherwise you may find a lot of time on transport.
It was sparkling clean and just perfect.
So far our favourite stay in Japan.
Comfy beds and that moment you go over the mountain and see my Fuji for the first time is magical.
- Christos (10/5): Exceptional - Ideal if you want to explore the areas of Hakonne Yumoto and lakes Ashi and Yamanakako. The property was very clean with a scenic garden that you can stare at from the deck at the back of the property. Facilities were great and we really enjoyed our stay. Bonus the great restaurants in Segokuhara which is a very pleasant quiet village near Mt Fuji.
- Lidy (9/5): Superb - Such a spacious accommodation, beautiful garden, and great amenities. Loved the shower! There was a bit of a draft of cold air coming through from the hallway to the main room which was noticeable when you'd sit on the sofa.
- Alex (10/5): Yoina is the perfect getaway for a couple wanting to explore Hakone’s surrounds, but be outside of the hustle and bustle - The property was gorgeous! Beautiful entry, big spacious room, plenty of facilities, the most amazing bathroom ever and the garden was gorgeous! This was an incredible place to stay in rural Japan. There’s a convenience store nearby and great local restaurants. Expect small town charm and quiet.
- Joanne (10/5): Amazing and restful stay! - Well furnished with everything you'd need- washing machine, microwave, tub, comfy beds and a nice garden to look at. Heater was working well and the bathroom was big. We enjoyed the space and the amenities. Even had complimentary snacks and drinks. It's also unmanned so quite hassle free check in. There is also a 7-11 nearby. Very convenient. Narrow roads to get to the hotel but that's probably the same everywhere else in this area.. luckily we drove a very small car but I imagine bigger cars will face some issues with the tight turns.
- Bkchewy (10/5): Exceptional - What more can I say about my stay. It was enjoyable from start to finish. The location is perfect for a retreat within the regional areas of Japan. We were welcomed in like it's a holiday home, with its hallway into our accommodation as a starter really set the tone as a spacious room to enjoy our stay. The living room, bedroom and bathroom offered plenty which really showcased the attention to detail. Again, I truly recommend this place for a peaceful retreat and it's brilliant during the winter season.
- Pairchompu (9/5): Superb - Everything Nothing
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful spot, lovely facilities and extremely well maintained. Perfect stay
- Lenard (10/5): Beautiful little house in Hakone. - It was a spacious apartment as it is the ground floor of an entire house in a nice little neighborhood. Parking was directly in front of the house. The interior felt high quality. It has a good location between the hot springs and Mount Fuji. Everything as aspected and above.
- Stuart (10/5): Family stay. 2 and 5 yr old - Warm, cozy and away from the chaos down at the lake or the $$ up in Gora and surrounds.
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing, clean, large space, good working washing machine as we have been in Japan a while! They provided x2 water, x2 beer and a bottle of wine plus some snacks all for free! The TV worked and had netflix that was functional aswell!
- Hong (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent room, excellent service with free minibar including beer, champagne and even toothbrush for little kid. Location is fine if you drive else it's quite a distance from Yumoto.
- Francis (10/5): Amazing stay, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend this place enough! - Place is spotless clean, excellent facilities, free snacks were a nice touch and check in was smooth and effortless! Nothing
- Johnny (10/5): Nice stay and perfect location 😊 - Very Nice and clean good value for the price
- Allen (10/5): Do yourself a favor and book a stay at this property. - Beautiful property. Modern, clean and fabulous esthetics. We loved staying here. Nothing
- Garmantyi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anja (10/5): Beautiful little oase in Hakone - It’s just amazing. Everything is new and well organised. The zen garden is beautiful, enjoying your breakfast or a glass of wine with this view is great. Still, it’s very comfortable, we would have loved to stay longer and hopefully will be back someday! Nothing
- Yvonne (10/5): Quiet and amazing place with free Netflix accounts (❁´◡`❁) - very spacious for 2 people, bathroom and zen garden were nice
It's a very quiet neighbourhood and close by bus stops and a konbini (❁´◡`❁)
The washing machine was good, easy to use and quick ╰(*°▽°*)╯
(☞゚ヮ゚)☞ Bonus: free Netflix accounts because people forget to log out (lol...) ☜(゚ヮ゚☜) The roads leading to the house were quite narrow for our rental car, but nothing a good driver can't handle (●'◡'●)
Check-in is a videocall.
- David-marian (10/5): Stunning, modernized traditional Japanese home - A hidden gem in all of Hakone. We were welcomed by a modern adaptation of a traditional Japanese home. The hotel felt more like a home than a hotel facility, and all the automation around the bathrooms and lighting made everything ease in much easily.
For us, everything was as clean as it gets. Spare towels were also provided, but the property is keen to help whenever needed. The balcony and garden made us enjoy early morning coffees and late night snacks in peace and silence. The double beds act more like one, and they are as comfortable as it gets. All of the appliances, from AC to the automated bathtub work perfectly, and the provided washing machine can come in handy.
The neighborhood was very silent, as it is close to the end of the region. Being further away from the main areas is not a problem, as the famous Venetian Glass Museum ca be reached by foot in 20 minutes and there are plenty of bus connections available. Finally, the hotel provided numerous restaurant options nearby and the ones we tried were really great!
The place is a must stay for couples, and we are looking forward to coming back to it in the future. We had no complaints.
- Deborah (6/5): Need a car - Roomy for two guest. A little tight with three. Backyard was zen like. Relaxing to have morning tea/coffee on wooden deck & watch the sun rise. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is spacious with lots of body wash shampoo, conditioner, and vanity items.
Nice to have an in unit combo washer/dryer.
Well stocked mini bar. Beer, water, champagne, coffee, tea & crackers.
7-11 store is a short walk from unit. Area is remote, but beautiful lots of trees & nature. However away from sights of interest.
Bus service is unreliable.
Waited one hour for one bus.
Had to take multiple buses to get to places of interest.
Nearest bus stop is a 20 minute walk from guest house.
Limited restaurant choices within walking distance.
For an enjoyable stay a car is required.
- Erez (10/5): Amazing place, clean, well decorated, quiet and accessible. - Everything Nothing
- Solin (10/5): Lovely quiet cottage like stay :) - Was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the hosts provided drinks and snacks in the fridge!! It was a really nice touch, also they were very easy to reach and helped with any questions we had!
We rented a car to travel but I believe there ate some bus stops nearby! Nothing! It was perfect!
