The location was not in the prettiest area and a bit far from the center. I did not like that we had only one shower towel per person. The room was really hot and there was no air conditioner.
• Danao (7/5): Muy buena ubicación, diseño hermoso y excelente ambiente, aunque con algunos detalles de comodidad que todavía podrían m - Casa 821 tiene una muy buena ubicación. Caminando, en unos 15 minutos se llega al Zócalo, a la calle Alcalá y a muchos restaurantes, cafés y tiendas importantes del centro de Oaxaca. Está lo suficientemente cerca de todo, pero sin estar en medio del ruido más turístico. Además, incluso en la noche nos sentimos seguros caminando por la zona y la gente siempre fue muy amable. El edificio en sí está muy bonito. Se nota que fue renovado y el diseño se siente moderno, minimalista y con muy buen gusto. Tanto la arquitectura como la decoración están muy bien cuidadas, con colores agradables, plantas y una atmósfera tranquila y estética. Las áreas comunes también son un gran punto a favor. La cocina compartida, el espacio de trabajo, el refrigerador para los huéspedes y el café y jugos gratis hacen que la estancia sea más cómoda. Sin duda, lo mejor del lugar es la terraza. Especialmente la terraza de arriba tiene una vista increíble de Oaxaca y realmente hace que la experiencia sea más especial. Otro punto muy positivo es el servicio de lavandería. Al llegar o una vez durante la estancia se puede lavar ropa gratis, y los siguientes servicios cuestan solamente alrededor de 120 pesos. La verdad es un detalle muy útil y justo, especialmente para personas que están viajando por más tiempo. También queremos destacar a Andrea (“Andi”), quien siempre fue muy amable y atenta. Nosotros tuvimos un cambio de último momento con nuestra llegada y pudimos comunicarnos fácilmente con ella para encontrar una solución. La comunicación fue muy buena y siempre mostró disposición para ayudar. Las habitaciones son sencillas y minimalistas, pero bonitas y funcionales. El baño también se ve bien y los productos de cuidado personal que ofrecen son buenos. El principal problema para nosotros fue la temperatura del cuarto (habitación #3). El espacio se calentaba muchísimo, especialmente durante la noche. Aunque hay ventilador, realmente no era suficiente para esos días de calor. Varias noches tuvimos que bañarnos con agua fría antes de dormir porque si no era muy difícil descansar bien. Creemos que un aire acondicionado o una mejor ventilación harían una diferencia enorme. Además, las ventanas no aíslan mucho el ruido. Entendemos perfectamente que al estar cerca del centro siempre habrá algo de ruido, pero sí se escuchan bastante los coches, los perros y sonidos de la calle. Por el tipo de renovación y estética del lugar, esperábamos un poco mejor aislamiento. Otro punto importante fue el olor del baño. Después de bañarse, y a veces incluso durante el día, salía un olor desagradable como a drenaje o humedad. Si no dejábamos la puerta y la ventana abiertas durante bastante tiempo, el olor terminaba entrando al cuarto, lo cual sí fue incómodo. Definitivamente sería bueno revisar eso. Aunque por el precio uno entiende que habrá ciertos compromisos, creemos que el descanso y la comodidad siguen siendo aspectos muy importantes en cualquier hospedaje. Y justamente porque el lugar visualmente y conceptualmente se siente casi como un pequeño hotel boutique, automáticamente las expectativas sobre confort, temperatura y aislamiento suben un poco más. Si mejoraran esos puntos, Casa 821 podría ser una experiencia muchísimo más completa.

It was quiet even though we were on the ground floor and we used the laundry service they provided. It is a little walk out of town but we did not mind that.

• fatma (10/5): Excellent séjour grâce à l’hospitalité et la disponibilité de Andrea - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Isla Mujeres grâce à l’hospitalité d’Andrea, ses excellentes adresses et sa disponibilité. Villa Alkimia est idéalement située à Playa Norte : à seulement 2‑3 minutes à pied de la plage et de nombreux restaurants, tout en étant nichée dans une rue très calme. Les chambres sont impeccables, parfaitement équipées, et le personnel se distingue par sa gentillesse et son extrême disponibilité. Andrea a été un hôte d’exception et a donné une toute autre dimension à notre séjour. Dès la réservation, il a pris contact avec nous avec beaucoup de sympathie pour préparer notre arrivée. Sur place, il s’est montré attentif et disponible, répondant à chacune de nos demandes avec efficacité. Il nous a également partagé d’excellentes adresses sur toute l’île, qui ont enrichi notre expérience et nous ont permis de découvrir Isla Mujeres sous un angle différent. Andrea n’est pas seulement le propriétaire de la villa : il prend véritablement à cœur d’accueillir ses hôtes pour qu’ils s’y sentent comme chez eux. Encore mille mercis Andrea ! The hotel is located on the edge of the center and we didnt feel comfortable enough to walk back to the hotel in the dark. This is our own preference and has nothing to do with the hotel itself, people staying there or staff.

• Joe (10/5): A perfect stay - This is one of our favourite places we’ve stayed! The rooms were clean, stylish, and very comfortable. We loved the beautiful balcony with views of the city. The snacks and coffee were such a nice touch, and we appreciated the complimentary laundry. There are cafes round the corner for breakfast (we loved Cafe Local), and it’s a short walk into town. The host was very responsive and helpful, and at the same time you felt independent with your own space. We liked everything!

It was very clean and quiet. We absolutely loved our stay. Location is on a 10 minute walk from the city centre, but it wasn't an issue for us at all, even at night - we walked to our accommodation from different areas of (central) Oaxaca. Helpful staff For those with limited mobility the location a few blocks south of the posher areas of the busy Bustamante street could be a downside but we always enjoyed the walk

• kira (9/5): AMAZING PLACE FOR THE VALUE - The cleanliness, the staff (Vero), the location, the safety My stay at Casa 821 was exceptionally great, however the ONLY thing I can say negatively was the loud noises in the middle of the night. There are dogs that howl for hours in the early hours of the morning (but thats almost impossible to control since I hear this sound almost everywhere I go in South America), but there was a neighbour living in a very close building to the bCasa 821 who played EXTREMELY LOUD spanish music at exactly 5:40am for 30-40 minutes. After that it was impossible to fall back asleep.

All the small details such as a small basket with necessities, laundry service, books etc. We had a question regarding very early check out and sent a message rather late in the evening. We immediately got a very nice answer, which really is good service. Just a little obs: If you arrive after dark, don’t be put off by what might seem to be a longish walk to the center zocalo. It only takes 15 minutes and you pass a lot of shops on the way, so you quickly get used to the short walk and we felt perfectly safe also after dark.
• Lucrezia (10/5): Bellissimo, pulito e ottima posizione - Il posto è bellissimo e la nostra stanza al primo piano aveva tutto il necessario, oltre a un bellissimo piccolo patio interno. Il letto era comodo e sia la stanza che l’intera struttura erano molto puliti. Si trova vicino al centro, a soli 15 minuti a piedi dallo Zócalo, e la sera è stato tranquillo tornare a piedi. Tutte le istruzioni per il check-in e il check-out erano chiarissime e la comunicazione con l’host è stata molto facile. Un punto molto positivo è stato il primo lavaggio dei vestiti gratuito.

• Adam (9/5): Immaculate accommodation a stones throw from the centre of Oaxaca - Super clean, really comfortable bed and complimentary laundry service for your first wash was a lovely touch. The location was a 15 minute walk away from the centre which was perfect for us. The area was nice and quiet at night but still felt very safe walking back even late on as you are along a main road. The host was extremely kind and friendly especially when we had a little panic at getting an earthquake alert through on our phones at 1 in the morning. The only issue we had was finding somewhere comfortable to relax in the afternoons after long mornings exploring Oaxaca. The chairs in the room looked very stylish but were not very comfortable to actually sit on and the same with the seating on the balcony. A really minor thing which is just personal preference but we don’t like sitting / relaxing on the bed. Still wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Always felt safe in and around the apartment (and in Oaxaca in general). Small issue with ants but Andy was very responsive to help and in general very helpful with questions/logistics, which was much appreciated. Nice rooftop area and food/water provided was great to have (particularly arriving late as things in Oaxaca close early).

One of the better location we had in Mexico. The taxi the suggest doesn't reply, but we quickly founded another one. The location is a 15 minute walk but that was more than fine.

Alles sehr individuell ausgestattet, ideal auch für digital nomads-alles vorhanden um vor Ort zu arbeiten. Alles perfekt, wenn man individuell wohnen will und keinen Pool, Rezeption oder Bar benötigt. In der Gegend sind Reataurants eher Mangelware-da muss man schon 10 min laufen.

• Miguel (9/5): Great, confortable and safe place to stay while exploring Oaxaca. - The room was cozy, great matress and huge bed. Andy was always very comunicative during our stay and the laundry free service is a great add-on for people traveling around the country with not so many clothes. Although we ended up not using it much, the terrace and open kitchen are really nice and practical if you don't want to eat out every time. It's not super central, but the 10/15 minutes walk is no big deal. The place is not an hotel, so don't expect daily cleaning at your room. If you ask, the staff is really helpfull and will gladly change your towels.

Obwohl die Unterkunft vor Lärm (Feuerwerke) warnt und hochwertige Ohropax zur Verfügung stellt, war alles recht ruhig. Die Lage ist etwas untouristisch. Die meisten Touristen leben nördlich vom Hauptplatz. War für uns kein Problem, aber mag vielleicht nicht jeder

• Jonas (10/5): Spacious apartment location off the touristic alleys - Very modern spacious apartment with great shared areas like coworking room, rooftop terrace and kitchen with free to use refreshments - even better than Marriott Bonvoy Diamond advantages ;) We had the basement room number 1 which comes with two indoor patios, a spacious kitchen area, a decent comfy bed and a nice bathroom - all in perfection of cleanliness and attraction to details. In the most southern part of Centro, some five walking minutes to the touristic hotspots, ideal if you travel by car and come from the west/south 175 . (Parking space in lot available in the street) Contact with staff in a perfect matter and responsive within minutes, highly appreciated. Would come again.

• Maximilian (9/5): Schöne, saubere Unterkunft in Oaxaca - Wunderschöne Unterkunft, gemütliche Zimmer und Betten und eine schöne Aussicht von der Terrasse! Sehr saubere Zimmer und das Laundry Service war unglaublich praktisch! Etwa 1 km außerhalb des Stadtzentrums und relativ hellhörig! Dafür werden jedoch Ohrstöpsel zur Verfügung gestellt.

• Zulay Malagon (8/5): Nice - El lugar es lindo, tienes snacks disponibles para consumir, si pides el servicio te lavan tu ropa diario sin costo extra. Además, Andy es súper amable, resuelve todas tus dudas y está al tanto de lo que necesitas. La ubicación en las noches se pone peligroso, hay que tomar taxi si o si, además en las habitaciones hay que mantener siempre la cortina cerrada si que de día es feo para ver el panorama porque no hay una cortina menos gruesa que permita ver la luz del día.

• Ha My (10/5): Perfect! - The accommodation had everything we needed, we had a lovely time there. The room is super spacious and well equipped. The terrace is amazing! And the host is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. :)

• Daniela (10/5): - Die Unterkunft bietet alles was man für einen Aufenthalt benötigt. Die Zimmer sind schön hell und gut ausgestattet, ebenso die Outdoor-Küche. Es ist eher untypisch, dass dauerhaft Wasser, Kaffee und Müsli bereitgestellt wird. Die Kommunikation verlief super. Unsererseits geäußerte Wünsche wurden berücksichtigt und möglich gemacht. Ich kann die Unterkunft zu 100% weiterempfehlen!
• Lisanne (10/5): Heel fijn verblijf - Alles was perfect, de faciliteiten, de kamer was echt allemaal top. Accomodatie is iets van het stadje af maar goed te lopen!! Gratis wasservice was ook zooooo ongelofelijk fijn!! Soms wat gehorige buurt door honden etc maar daarvoor bieden ze zelfs oordoppen aan Niks
• Chloe (8/5): Great stay and good location - About 10 minutes walk from the main centre. The facilities were great, with milk/juice/water/snacks provided in the kitchen area and it was nice to have the sunbeds available on the rooftop too. Room was clean and perfect for a couple of nights.
• Laura (9/5): Bellissima Oaxaca - Struttura semplice ma super accogliente, pulita e host e staff super gentili e disponibili. Possibilità di lavanderia e presenza di angolo caffè/te/snack gratuiti. La posizione è a 10/15 minuti a piedi dal centro, a noi non è dispiaciuto perché si è in un quartiere più local e comunque sempre vivo. Consigliamo :)

• Ryuji (8/5): - ・部屋、テラスも含めて全体的に綺麗 ・値段が安い ・フロントがあるわけではないが、スタッフの方がメッセージで丁寧にやり取りしてくれる 部屋の中に小さい蟻が、それなりに見つけられるくらいいたのは少し気になった
• halina (9/5): Highly recommended. - We had a great stay at Casa 821. The room (5) is beautifully designed — modern and comfortable — and the bathroom is equally nice. The rooftop terrace is perfect for relaxing in the mornings or evenings. The complimentary touches like free coffee and water are a very nice bonus. n/a
