Foot it’s nice, beach this season was a little bit more wild than before and also we had some seaweed when we arrive, beach looks so much better today. Drinks should be better maybe more natural and less flavored syrups … I’m done with trying them. For people not that picky in that it’s ok I guess. Everything else it’s comfortable, almost every personal it’s nice and helpful. We like the area we’re this hotel it’s located and also that we can relax and not very noisy in the room.

- mitchellb59 (6/5): If you are used to 5* resorts, do not stay here. - First, this a hotel, not a resort. As such, about 90% of guests are Mexican. So, the food is largely designed for Mexicans. Lunch items are heavy, more like what we might eat for dinner in America. The beach is state owned not private, so guests from other hotels on the strip can walk down and enjoy your beach. Smoking is allowed on the beach. We enjoyed the beach (except the smokers). Breakfast at the buffet is good. Not impressed with the restaurants so we ate mostly at the buffet. As we were checking in, they suggested we stay at the Altitude Tower for an additional $800.00 US. We didn't accept and were given a room on the top floor right beside the elevator they were working on. So, for the week, we heard jackhammering and banging whenever we went to our room, except after 8:00 pm. There was no chicken wings, crab legs or lobster. No potato chips, pretzels or snacks available at all. The tortilla chips had no salt on them. We would not return to this hotel. Next vacation we will look for a 5 star resort which caters to either Americans, Canadians or Europeans so as to have more options for food that we enjoy.

- Zlovetotravel (2/5): Stay away from- terrible - Krystal Grand Hotel – Stay Away Rarely write reviews, but this was bad enough to warn others. Advertised as a 5-star—we paid ~$400/night—and it’s nowhere close. Quiet room requests were ignored (twice), and we were first placed facing loud nightclubs until we complained. Rooms are old, small, with peeling paint; we had a strong sewer smell and had to switch rooms, plus drainage issues. Elevators are slow, overcrowded, and one was out with construction dust leaking out. Food is poor with long lines and questionable hygiene; drinks are low-end and cups appear reused. Pool is small, gym is underground, and better areas are restricted. After all this, they still tried to charge for late checkout. Don’t be fooled by the photos—this is not a 5-star hotel.

Torre Altitude Falta mejorar el servicio de animación y actividades de entretenimiento en el hotel: la app no está actualizada en ese rubro. La playa al Ser céntrica se llena de mucha gente y cada uno con sus parlantes…incluso los mismos huéspedes del hotel llevan parlantes a la playa y de a ratos era molesto (porque se mezclaban varios generes musicales 🙄) .

- 238reenaj (10/5): A beautiful location - A great Location the beach is beautiful and clean, we didn't come across any seawead as they really kept up with the removal first thing in the morning. Theres lots of beds available on the beach so no need to panic. This hotel if in the main Hotel.The standard rooms were fine yes a few little things like abit of rust but otherwise clean spacious amd comfy. nothing special. apart from being in the main building close to the bar, breakfast and buffet area as well the kids games room could do with some renovations and attention to detail. The staff at the hotel apart from Reception (very slow)were amazing. Kitchen diner staff i will also write this on Google reviews because they deserve the recognition. Erik, Aaron,Elizabeth,Josaline,Chef Fransisco,Alex ,Miguel,Diana, all individually stood out with going above and beyond for us, especially as we are vegetarian. Every day we were greeted with a friendly smile and we couldn't be more grateful at how much they looked after us.Alejo by the poolside has been extraordinary he so friendly caring and attentive was so nice seeing his happy face he had a day off whilst we were there but his colleague Antonio was very helpful . Overall It was an ok hotel good for your 1st time in Cancun as we wanted to go out on excursions. Everything is in reaching point . I would stay here again but do think they need to renovate the rooms in the main building to get it upto a 5star.I hope the staff members I have mentioned get the recognition they deserve they make your holiday and not only do their jobs brilliantly but go above the expected standard. The hotel has some great evening entertainment. The one thing I did find abit slack was the entertainment team, they don't really interact with the visitors I have been to other hotels and entertainment build such a relationship that everyone wants to be involved. I would suggest that to be improved just coming into the pool doing a dance/exercise amongst the team and then leaving seems abit pointless. They never introduce themselves so dont know their names to call anybody out. The hotel is clean and calm. The little deli where you can get coffee in the morning needs more staff as the line backs up and one person doing everything in peak hours can be a put off. Overall small adjustments would make this hotel amazing.

Beach is beautiful! The Grill Restaurant has classy, well trained employees. Elizabeth Orea handled each table with dedication & knowledge of the menu. Worth a visit! Food delicious.

- Fearless12038859692 (10/5): Wonderful family vacay - Had a great experience at Krystal Grand Cancun! We were a family group of 22 people. Beach is incredible! Calm, clear and so blue! Sand is powdery white. Beach service was awesome, shout out to Antonio who kept the drinks coming and was so quick on lunch service. Resort was clean and common spaces were modern and welcoming. Food in all the ala crates was delicious and the buffet food was also great and abundant. Isabel and Joscelin never made us wait and seating was prompt with beautiful views. Breakfast being a favourite of mine was amazing with lots of fresh fruit and so much to choose from. Very few downsides to the resort. Only things I could complain about if I had to we’re the rooms, very bare but clean with little to know soft lighting. No bedside lamps or floor lamps, just a few pot lights and then lights in the bathroom and vanity. The elevators were also small and not enough, especially on check in and out days. But otherwise, we had a great time and would come back!

Many restaurants not open every evening…..food was very good and service was excellent. As far as housekeeping…..random walk ins several times during our stay with a brief knock. Not enough time for us to answer the door…..often not appropriate to have someone enter our room. Upon arriving, our room was not ready. During this time, we were harassed by sales associates to tour the facility and watch a presentation.

- P7824UUrobertk (6/5): Ok price for what was received - The Krystal Grand might’ve been grand 20 years ago,, but all the on site properties need a face lift. Staff, food, location, beach, recreation, most amenities were all good. The nightly entertainment was minimal, the building elevators were slow, un air conditioned and someone was trapped in one for two hours. We moved from the 11th floor to 3rd floor for safety reasons. There was a lot of drilling and sledge hammering during the day, as they are installing “one” new one. There was excellent cleaning on going, playground for the kids, kids lamp, sports, indoor games, but no tennis or pickleball. Time share sharks were always around promoting the Altitued building and their deal? When all is said and done it was a good price for what we received.

We had high hopes based on our wonderful experience last year, and this trip did not disappoint. The facilities and grounds are wonderfully maintained, the ambience inside and out is beautiful and makes for wonderful photos, there is a fantastic variety of delicious food all over the resort, and the staff are so incredibly warm and friendly. Every staff member that we interacted with each day was kind and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. The location is fantastic because it provides access to the best portion of the beach available on the strip. It is walkable distance to the city center, but provides welcome distance from the noise of the more central hotels. There are lots of activities and events throughout the day to keep things fun and interesting, and the gym is one of the best I have used anywhere I have traveled. The rooms are spacious, bright, charming and clean. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms provide ample space. Overall, it is a wonderful value for the experience. This is a vacation that our family looks forward to every year and it has become an annual tradition thanks to the wonderful people that make this place so warm and welcoming. Special shout outs to Isabela and Ernesto at the buffet, Elizabeth O. and Nicole at the restaurants, and to Rene and Joshua from the entertainment team. Seeing you every day brought joy to our hearts. Thank you to you and the entire team for being who you are.

Also the elevators were an issue, long waits and very hot inside. Because of the length of our stay we only visited the restaurants 1-2 times the buffet was amazing and all the staff were great. Outside and inside. The buffet staff Aaron and Diana remembered us each time what we needed with my husbands mobility issues and our last name. Special cake on our last day! - gerryb643 (8/5): Sun Wing No Krystal Grand , You will have Fun just not for me again. - Returned April 12th 2026 from the Krystal grand Cancun , the trip started with a huge flight delay , Sunwing is not Sunwing anymore since West Jet bought them out , not the hotels fault , however when we arrived exhausted , we were put in a room that we did not want it was a downgrade from what we paid for looking at the back of an other Hotel , we paid for Altitude Ocean front , they reluctantly moved us up 3 floors to the same room but on the 10th floor air conditioning did not work nor did the safe , I called down service person will be there in 10 to 15 min after an hour and a half I went down to the front desk , same girl and I asked if anyone was coming to fix the AC and the safe , she said he went there and we were not there , I said that's a lie and I was full of sweat from sitting in basically a green house with no air conditioning , finally 2 hours later everything was fixed , now from paying 50.00 extra per night for and early flight it was now 4 pm so we lost that day . went to the pool for and hour that's day one done. , I got no where complaining at the front desk , and to top it off I went looking for the Sunwing rep and I was told they do not come to this hotel to phone the concerns number , so I did and I was told no Sunwing does not move hotels ?? so in my mind 5 grand just went down the toilet , really still not the hotel's fault except the attitude of the front desk person in the beginning , so I decided to to make the Best of it , , now the Hotel, Staff Great and very nice , Bars Servers House keeping , no problems there , Beach the best , I stayed mostly at the adult pool . service there was hit and miss , I managed to ask for a bucket of Ice and got cans of beer at the altitude lobby bar which saved my sanity , the Draft was terrible XX dark ?? who does that ? now the food , buffet smallest I ever seen in all my travels and food mostly cold , and lacking seasoning , as was the food in all the restaurants but I brough my own salt and pepper etc. Over all I made the best of it however I would not return , food to repetitive drinks Meh .. for what I spent I would most likely return to the Iberostar chain , resort size perfect location and staff perfect . you will have a nice time there but for me , no returning . the new Sunwing the Walmart of vacation companies ? NEVER AGAIN !!!!

Here are your must haves…cheese plate, arugula salad (pears are mind blowing), French onion soup, beef medallions, and apple tartin. You won’t regret it. Thank you for the great experience.

- lucynagr (10/5): Fantastic week at Krystal Grand! - We just returned from a week vacation at the Krystal Grand. It was our first time at this hotel. We were shown around the grounds by the time share people when we first arrived. They asked if we wanted to go and see the Altitude rooms but we were not interested and they didn't push. Check in was at 3pm but we didn't get to check in till 4 pm which was fine because we went to the buffet for lunch. We had standard king room with partial ocean view on the 11th floor. The room was fine , the only issue I had was that they did not come around with water and beer to fill our fridge 2 out of 7 days. I called a few times they said they are on their way and no one showed up. The elevators took a long time to come to our floor and one elevator would stop on 7 and 1 every time with no one getting on or off. They are putting in a 4th elevator. The hotel grounds are clean and well kept. Many chairs and umbrellas around the pool and at the beach. Pool bar had a variety of drinks and the waiters that walk around to bring you drinks work very hard. The buffet had a wide variety of food to choose from. Isabel and Jocelyn were always smiling and very pleasant when you arrived. The ala carte restaurants are under staffed for the amount of people they have at one sitting. The food at the Italian,Japanese and the Grill was delicious and would strongly recommend to go there. If you are in a wheelchair or handicapped this hotel has many stairs so might be hard to get around. I would definetley return to this hotel.

The level of care and attention to detail made our stay feel personalized and stress-free. Very little to note—overall it was a great experience. If anything, minor delays here and there during busy times, which is expected, but nothing that took away from the quality of the stay.

Todos los días encontramos reserva para los restaurantes de especialidad, aunque 1 o 2 horarios solamente disponibles, a pesar de que fui en semana santa. -Se puede mejorar en poner más variedad en el área de buffete.

Un poco desorganizada la atención de los buffets, ya que el de la alberca estaba cerrado por algún motivo y cuando fuimos al general, donde se desayuna, también estaba cerrado. Lo más feo de nuestra estadía fue que cuando se acerca el horario del cierre de los restaurantes, prácticamente te sacan. Ejemplo en el restaurante Risotto, mientras comías el último bocado ya te sacaban el plato y el postre lo tenía hacía media hora en la mesa para cerrar rápido. Eso sí fue demasiado. - C4945IVvaleriew (8/5): Krystal Grand Cancun Jan 2026 Review - OVERALL: We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Krystal Grand Cancun. The hotel is on a beautiful public beach. Not overly busy except for the Sunday. ROOM: Our room in the Altitude Tower was excellent. 4th floor (actually about 7 stories up because it’s above the pool and restaurants), amazing ocean view. FOOD: Overall the food was very good, with the exception of the Italian restaurant where we ate twice. Our meals there were average quality, and not very hot when served. The risotto was barely warmed. Our favourite restaurants were The Grille (chicken very good, ground beef not very good), and the Altitude breakfast buffet. It would have been helpful at check-in to receive a schedule for when the restaurants are open, as not all were open every night. EMPLOYEES: Very good, helpful, friendly. Those of note who we engaged with multiple times: Housekeeping for our room 430 (don’t have a name) was excellent; waiter Miguel, and maître’d Diana in the main buffet; Altitude concierge’s Mariana and Yuritzi; waitress at the Balinese beds on the beach was very friendly (don’t know her name).

All the staff were very happy and helpful. We enjoyed Zacarias and Jose in le deleci. We enjoyed our Bali beds. Our room was perfectly appointed and we had a full ocean view which was amazing! We would definitely go back!

- 913MICHAELP913 (10/5): 4* Resort with 5* Dining & Staff - Upon entering this hotel you are greeted by a huge circular 14 floor atrium with the main bar centred in a sunken position. The main buffet is located just off to the side as is a small coffee shop and jeweller. Check in was easy and painless. No time share sales or upgrade sales ploys. The few times reception was spoken to or with all staff were polite and attentive except one who appeared grumpy and stand offish (Bad day maybe). Ofelia (Duty Mgr) is great. A Manager who listens and cares, Bell Hops got our luggage to the room within 10 minutes. Marco is very friendly and knowledgeable. Room: Although a ‘Superior Room’ with ocean view was selected the higher floors (1117) have a narrower view due to architectural overhangs. We did have to move rooms to a lower floor due to a toxic paint small. Side bar reno’s. The new room’s view (920) facing the bay was spectacular. Rooms are kept clean, fridge restocked daily and fresh towels daily when needed. The beds are fairly hard and pillows are interesting to say the least. Being offered access to the Altitude privileges was a nice gesture to compensate. Central Bar: Hats of to Jose Louis, Kevin and the gang. They are all awesome. Very professional and willing to have fun with you. Buffet: Breakfast has an egg station for omelettes, fried eggs, scrambled etc. Standard fayre is served. Meats, fruits, breads, juices and cereal. Lunch: Again, the buffet has the standard assortments of local foods. The beach café serves burgers, hotdogs, guac and ceviche style dishes. Beach waiters will bring to you if asked. They are very attentive with drink orders. The main pool has an open-air restaurant. Same menu as the beach. Alejo and his team are friendly and look after guests in and around the pool. Best Tuna Tostados I’ve ever eaten. Dinner: Buffet unfortunately isn’t up to much. Limited choices, warm if I’m being kind. Fear not as the À la carte restaurants are AMAZING. The Grill, Taquería y Cevichería - Red Fish, Risotto, Ayami, Le Delice and Moskito (not open during our stay except for private functions) Each location is different. Each has their own Chef which clearly shows. The attention to detail, quality and taste is exceptional. The waiters know the dishes and care about presenting them in their best light. Bravo to them all. Pools: Cooler in the morning but warm up by lunch. They are clean and are kept clean. Good entertainment around the pool bar and the music is varied. Beach: The sand is soft and kept pristine. The water is crystal clear and warm. Shoals of small fish swim around you. Its stunning. Sun Chairs: If you reserve earlier enough, you’ll get one. They do need more on the beach. Pool space is limited. Location: Walking distance into town. Bars, restaurants and Coco Bongo are easy to get to. One thing I have noticed is the cost of everything has risen a lot from previous visits. Overall: Yes I would come again. We loved it. Lets hope The Hacienda, Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta compares to this one. We are off there next month.

Tiny buffet, you must wait 15мin in line to get your table, tables, cups, utensils, everything so dirty. Very poor variety of food. The room is very old, very tiny, there is no hand shower. We paid for the oceanfront, but we got a partial ocean room. The balcony is super tiny, there are no chears to sit on the balcony. The bed and pillows are hard as stones. The room has a terrible mold smell. Servants at the buffet are so slow. I have a disability and asked at the service table to bring me extra blankets and was ignored. Very tiny pool and water in the pool freezing cold. Please stay away from this resort!

- Alvaro (10/5): An amazing stay with breathtaking views, a beautiful beach, and a very relaxing atmosphere. - I loved the Ocean Front room I chose — the view was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel has one of the best beaches in Cancun, and the Altitude area feels exclusive and peaceful. The room was very comfortable and clean, and waking up to the ocean view made the experience even more special. Honestly, there wasn’t much to dislike. Everything met my expectations and the overall experience was very enjoyable.

- Nadia (4/5): Stay elsewhere, this hotel was disappointing - All the things I didn't like didn't fit into the other box so here's the rest of what went wrong (spoiler: it was a lot!). Ordering room service was hit or miss. They would tell us they had certain items (for example, ceasar salad) but then didn't bring it. Housekeeping didn't refill drinks and teas in our room each day. We barely used them and they are all included in price, but still no one refilled the tea and we also had to call down for water. Breakfast is all inclusive but if you don't arrive there right at opening time (around 7 am) you're screwed and have to wait in a huge line. For some reason they have a hostess to seat you, which makes no sense when there are tonns of empty seats and you can just pick one yourself. We asked to be seated outside each day and were denied even though clearly other people were being seated outside. Once you do actually get in the food is sub-par. Not many vegetarian options and definitely no seafood, just old beans and stale tasting hash browns. Pancakes with no syrup, etc. The beach is not non-smoking and most people there have no consideration for others and smoke all around you, which is gross and rude. The staff will tell you 'yes' just to get you off your back. We were constantly told wrong information and had to double check with other staff who told us something completely different. This created anxiety in our stay. They had a Mexican fiesta night with no churros and just the same food as the regular buffet. Makes no sense, again. When you call room service it doesn't show up sometimes. We felt like we were treated as rich white people the whole time there, even though we spent a lot on this vacation and haven't travelled for years. We were really looking forward to our stay and this hotel was disappointing. Oh and don't do a day trip to Isla Mujeres, everyone there tries to scam you and will just harass you every couple of steps. You have to pay $1 to use the loo. When we arrived after an overnight flight and haven't slept for 2 days the check in process was slow. Even though I notified them that I would be arriving at 9 am (we ended up arriving at 11 am), they still had no room available to check us into, which is understandable but I did request it and they could have told me this ahead of time. When you go to a restaurant or order from the beach bar they have no menu for drinks, you basically have to guess what they can make you, which is annoying. No Corona beer and no coconut water was disappointing. It's Mexico! Please have Mexico staples. The cafe's ice cream hours were all over the place. On some days they served it at 12 pm then other days at 3 pm. No idea why the inconsistency. The restaurant boasts that it has all these restaurants. Don't believe the count! They are there, but on any given day only 1 or 2 of them are open, creating massive lines and wait times. We waited for 2 hours to be seated once for dinner and another 30 minutes to be served. As a pregnant woman this pissed me off and took another whole star off my rating. In an all inclusive you should never be asked that long to wait to eat. Completely unacceptable. It was way past my bedtime once the meal was finished and the server ignored basic requests like 'no ice' in my drink. The room itself was OK, however, there was a nasty sewage smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom. It was on and off but when it happened it was so gross and left the bathroom totally unusable. Completely unacceptable to pay $700 a night for a room and have this occur. On our first day there housekeeping didn't come to our room despite calling twice to request it. They ended up coming by 5 pm after we were already winding down for the day. Robes and towels weren't replaced each time, even though they were clearly on the floor. Calling down for robes was a mess. The guy on the phone didn't know what a bath robe was and brought bath mats.

- FILEMON (5/5): - El costo excesivo para una sola comida que ofrecieron. Las políticas de check in o check no debiera influir en la estadía y alimentación. Si a un hotel no le da el tiempo de preparar una habitación en 3 horas es problema del hotelnpor flata de personal no de Huéspedes que van pensando en que tienen pornoo menos garantizado el alimento. Una mala desición no alimentar
- Lisa (8/5): - Super Hotel zum Ankommen für 1-2 Nächte. Strand und Anlage sehr schön und gepflegt, auch das Personal war sehr nett. Man merkt, dass das Hotel schon etwas älter ist (das sind jedoch die meisten in Cancun), sonst nichts zu beanstanden.
- Fernando Neto (5/5): Bom custo benefício mas exige muita paciência - Localização e espaço fisico. Comida boa. Por diversos dias meu quarto ficou sem arrumação. Nem pedindo foram arrumar. Filas insanamente longas. Sistema precário e burro de agendamento dos restaurantes. Atendimento dos funcionários ruim. Academia muito antiga e pouco equipada - abaixo de um resort moderno.
