Guest Reviews
- Filipe (5/5): A decent place to just sleep but not worth the price point. Can find much better places close by - Location wasnt bad. Middle of everything. Wasnt worth the price. Roof top was fairly small so not much activity up there. Lounge was empty pretty much all the time. & Room service never restocked towels after cleaning the room.

- Sophie (8/5): Nice place - Well situated, stylish, nice staff The smell of humidity in the 4th floor and the bedroom

- Jansby (4/5): Bad WiFi, indifferent staff, faulty key cards - Not a lot I liked. Downtown Tulum, too quiet at night. I booked Aloft as reviews said various restaurants. A lie. Just rooftop bar with limited menu. With loud music (that reaggeton…) Wifi non existent, staff could do nothing. Room, I tried two, were noisy. I could hear the bass of music in both.
As mentioned, limited restaurant menu in loud environment. Ubereats saved me, provided a better dinner.
Key card needed for elevator that stopped working, frequently. Staff seemed frustrated when I wanted help with it, it seems it happened often.
The moment I decided to leave one day early: elevator doors closing, key card to red. No reaction of doors, I couldn’t get out. No one heard when I started hammering on door. Luckily the key card worked again after a few minutes.
For some validation, as hotel staff gave none, I tried to reach out to their loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy. Which I mysteriously started getting messages from. I can’t remember agreeing to becoming member…They said that they were very sorry to hear about my experience. I got a survey to fill in, but one week later, nothing has happened.
- Jean Baptiste (4/5): - Grande chambre L’odeur a l’entré. Le prix du parking.

- Ramata (9/5): Great hotel for a short a stay. - Nice hotel. We loved the rooftop pool. The staff was absolutely amazing! The girls working on the front desk were always ready to help with a smile. We wish it was located closer to the beach.

- normanl993 (4/5): Pot Luck - We were dumped here by American Airlines. After being lied to about the hotel and the transportation we landed in this un ready lodge. I supposed itnis not their fault bit it does say something that American airlines reached out to them in the jam because they would have the rooms available.
- Angel (10/5): Genial - La comida
- jessicacaro (10/5): Rooftop Views! - Spacious rooms, and amazing pool views. The service from the lobby to the rooftop pool was great, we were served and taken care of my Hippolito who made our stay feel more like home. The hotel amenities made our stay even better, will definitely be back!
- Christophe (10/5): Un séjour sympa sur Tulum, hôtel bien placé - L’hôtel est neuf, les installations sont tops
- Benoit (7/5): Séjour correct - La déco et le design Parking payant
Pb ascenseurs
Ne pas charger sur la chambre
- F0WNbryant (10/5): Erick Michel Is the reason we will come back to stay in Aloft in tulum! - We had the best experience in Tulum!! Thanks to Erick Michel! He went above and beyond to make our stay for my birthday so perfect! Erick Michel helped us throughout our stay every single day. He recommended one of the best massages we ever had! We definitely will come back and stay here again at Aloft Tulum because of him. Definitely recommend to our friends and family! Thank you for everything Michel! Ps he’s a great bar tender as well! Super tasty drinks! :)
- 7777yolandac (10/5): Good stay - The hotel is very clean and has great amenities. The staff is friendly and very welcoming especially Michael at WXYZ. The food and drinks at the bar and restaurants WXYZ and Ático inside Aloft were good especially for the price. I would definitely stay there again.
- Maud (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Property is good for the price and a convenient and nice location. I would come back, staff is very helpful. Could use s - Location is on the strip from a lot of food spots and about 10-15 mins from beach clubs and every other lounge out there. The strip has pretty much anything you need while you are there. And the front desk and staff were very helpful. I didn’t like that parking wasn’t included in stay and $15 dollars a day, but you can park right outside of property for free, so it wasn’t that bad. The key card doesn’t work in the elevator like it’s suppose too, you will figure it out after a couple of times trying to get to your room. No ice machines, have to go to the bar or bother the staff all the time for ice. Breakfast was ok, not the best. Didn’t like the huge washcloths.
- RhondaA646 (10/5): Perfect for our needs in May - The Aloft worked perfectly for our Memorial Day plans. We did not come to Tulum for the beach in May. Our objective was knocking off our last of the 7 wonders of the world - Chichen Itza. First the staff were superb. Always smiling and accommodating. Our room was quite large and featured double sinks and a large walk in shower. We enjoyed the roof top pool area that always had a great breeze. My only critique is they need new pool furniture. I’m sure the heat and humidity are tough on the cushions but need replacement. We ate dinner every night by the pool and the food was terrific. We were offered a good discount to eat at the hotel every night so chose to use it. Breakfast was a buffet that offered different food every day along with some basics. The hotel is not in central Tulum but is very close to the Jaguar National Park. There are several restaurants and stores in easy walking distance. It is approximately 40 minutes from the airport. Transportation is incredibly expensive so if you’re staying for a week you may want to rent a car. The roads for the most part were very good in that area. Lastly they have a small take away mart. We loved that they offered electrolyte type drinks. It helped us get through the very hot May tours of the archeological sites.
- Sotello (10/5): Will definitely book here again - The staff was amazing, the location was a 10 minute walk to downtown and a 20 minute walk to a cenote The rooftop pool was awesome
- Jeff (10/5): Best part of Tulum was the hotel, Mexico sucks never going again -
- Isaac (6/5): Nice location and beautiful hotel. Alot of the staff have a terrible attitude however. - The location was nice and the overall esthetic and design of the apartments are beautiful. Also it's a affordable price and there's lots of things as far a games, gym or pool activities you can do. The staff is rude a lot of fake smiles or weird stares that give off they don't want to talk or be bothered. The only nice staff is the housekeeping. The food is nasty we ate somewhere else each Day and night so those credit points we had we didn't even use.
- Martha (10/5): Good value - It was new and modern . It was convenient to walk to the some restaurants and stores . Don’t forget to check out the roof deck pool for sunset cocktails
- Demera (10/5): Amazing - Aloft Tulum exceeded my expectations. Great customer service, friendly staff, clean, in the heart of Tulum District. So many restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend them.
- Carrie (8/5): Overall experience was great! - It was clean and close to everything. If you are traveling with kids or friends. There is no door for privacy in the shower area. The toilet had a door.
- Narasimha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yaakov (9/5): Nice location good value for money - Nice room good rooftop The parking is in extra of 15 us dolar per day
So we park outside
The parking should be included
- Aikaterini (10/5): Little convenient hotel with all ammenities - A lovely little hotel, pool with wonderful views and very, very friendly and efficient staff. Raffael welcomed us and helped us throughout with very wise tips. The room was excellent and spotless. My son enjoyed the games in the lobby.
- Jorge (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ladonna (8/5): Clean hotel close to restaurant and bars - Close to restaurants and convenience stores The resort fee was just for non alcoholic drinks
- Brittney (8/5): Very good - The check in process takes a really large nah time at this and other Alofts I’ve been too. Our room was not ready at check in but we occupied ourselves at the pool.
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the gym was clean with new equipment, there were a couple of vegan options for breakfast, two pools, two bars, pool table and games, there was plenty to do on site, and plenty to enjoy nearby. I was especially happy with the beach club partner and shuttle. There were very limited vegan options, and the lobby and hallways did not feel air conditioned.
- Crystal (6/5): It was peaceful - The breakfast was suitable. I enjoyed the food I didnt like that I couldn't flush the toilet or the uncontainment of the dogs from the neighboring restaurant.
- Nicole (4/5): Wouldn’t return - Dog friendly The beds are extremely uncomfortable and rooms are very small. Although the property was listed at $675.00 all in, we were charged $300+ USD additional “taxes” upon arrival. This is not near anything so you must rent a bike, taxi or some form of transportation. Food options very limited both in area and at hotel. Pool water destroyed our suits after first swim. Overall, wouldn’t recommend.
- Rachel (10/5): Great location very cute hotel - The front desk staff was amazing! I liked everything
- Melchiorri (10/5): Exceptional - Love all the amenities and the staff was incredible Not a bad thing to say
- Murray (10/5): Great base for Tulum and beyond - Super friendly staff. Great underground car park which allowed us to park up and use the car for day trips to beach clubs and ruins. Rooftop pool and bar area great for evening meal and cocktails by the pool during the day. Nice Mexcian buffet breakfast.
King suite, worth it.
- Gabriele (7/5): Good -
- Jerel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Genevieve (8/5): Very good -
- Delcy (10/5): Exceptional - Location, food, bedrooms, facilities
- Angel (10/5): Excellent - Everything was GREAT! Nothing
- Longietta (10/5): Great hotel! - Our stay was wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping came by daily to refresh towels, make the bed, and restock the coffee and complimentary bottled water. Our room had a small balcony which was a good place to sit and relax, conveniently sheltered from both the sun and rain.
Breakfast was included with our room. It featured toast, fresh fruit, coffee or tea, juice, and a choice of a cooked dish from a menu of about a dozen sweet and savory options.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. A special thank you to Hipolito, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed—his care and hospitality truly stood out.
One of the highlights was the rooftop bar, with its spectacular view overlooking the jungle. They do have music playing all the time but we didn't find it too loud. The food up there was excellent as well.
The location was perfect for us. There were several great restaurants nearby along Av. Coba, and the walk to Tulum Centro’s main road was easy, with a path the entire way. Heading in the other direction, there’s a walking and cycling path all the way to the entrance of Parque del Jaguar.
The only downside was that the bicycles included in the destination fee weren’t available during our stay, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend staying here!
- Aleš (7/5): Good -
- Anand (8/5): Very good -
- sdA8934HV (4/5): Mediocre and unexpected expenses - The food was good, but we had to pay a lot extra for breakfast. The hotel is situated in a rather dingy part of town and many things in the room did not work (the water tap was rusty and dripping, the fridge was at least 10 C warm, the furniture was scratched)
Although we supposedly had paid our rooms with Marriott points, we were asked to only for local taxes in the beginning but also for some extra sums which were not really explained to us.
The hotel is far away from the beaches but there is a little hotel bus which will take you there and pick you up after several hours - at a pre-fixed schedule, which you cannot change.
We would not return there.
- George (8/5): Alk good - Good
- Rayanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sevag (10/5): Great stay, recommended! - Valeria the manager was super friendly and helpful, showing me rooms before booking. Rafael at the front desk also a good listening and helpful in guiding day trips. Hotel had a new crisp feel, location wasn’t perfect but more than decent. Jungle Room really nicely done with plants in windows. Showers modern touch. Pool and gym were great features, and food was also tasty. Excursion company was harsh in their approach and lacked service orientation and understanding of realities for tourists. In the big picture however, the Hotel staff themselves more than made up for it with their friendly service and understanding.
- Anay (7/5): Good -
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- danird2000 (4/5): Overpaid and Underwhelmed Marriott - Overpaid and Underwhelmed. Communication with the hotel was horrible. Concierge never answered emails for info, even with a reservation booked. I went to the hotel to see the rooms before booking and the room I was shown was not the type of room I got after I booked and checked in. The trick here at this property is paying a destination fee that forces you to use in a credit, but only for dinner and lunch, not breakfast. Reason for this is an attempt to make you think the overpriced and frankly awful breakfast is something you have to do. Luckily there are several better breakfast options nearby. Pool bar needs a slightly heated pool - too cold for a roof top bar and pool. Transport company onsite was unfriendly and overpriced.
- Gaku (8/5): Great stay, just wish there were better restaurant options! - Aloft was an amazing stay. The room was larger than average and it had everything we needed. The destination fee of $20/day was worth paying for as it basically gave us a $20 credit on food/drinks in the hotel, plus a bunch of other added benefits (transport and entry to Yal-ku lagoon, 2 free drinks every day). The staff was also very nice and helpful! The location is not technically the city center, so you would need to get a taxi to get there even though it is just about 3km away. Be prepared to get ripped off by the taxis every single time ("standard 250 pesos" is what the taxi drivers said even if it is a 5 min ride). You could walk that distance if you're with a big group, but probably wouldn't recommend it if you are solo or couple. The dining options along the street are so-so. Nothing I would go back to.
- Dangei (8/5): Nice hotel, loud music. - The hotel is overall very nice. The staff are friendly, the breakfast buffet was good it is walking distance to town and some good restaurants.
The roof top pool is nice, there is a second pool down by the gym which is above average.
The only thing which was mildly infuriating was the fact that they have loud music playing all hours of the day. The music starts at 7am and is everywhere. It would be nice to have some quiet areas or quite times where people can read their books etc without the loud music. Not everyone wants to be in a night club at 7am.
- Susie (7/5): Good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Carmen (9/5): Superb -
- Rahim (9/5): Excellent and would stay there again next year - N/a Food could have been better.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (9/5): Chic hotel, great stay! - Two lovely pools (one on roof), stylish design, two nice bars, solid wifi, comfy bed. Daily destination fee includes 386 pesos/day in credit, which gets you two well-made cocktails. Loud music at all hours. (8:30 AM. 10:30
PM). Unnecessary and annoying.
- Berlise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antaneia (10/5): We stayed 4 nights, an impromptu getaway planned in about 2 weeks.. we did our first two days in another local hotel, an - Clean, accommodating, great value, nice staff, aesthetically pleasing. Great entertainment, even better food & drinks! The rooftop pool overlooked city/jungle & the beach as well. It’s breathtaking even at night. We loved everything!
- JMDA1984 (8/5): OVERALL NICE - We had a very rough start to our trip to Tulum. When we arrived at the hotel, some of the basics were missed. We went to the Rooftop for food (we had not eaten all day), and the food took over a hour. The waiters asked if my husband wanted another drink, but never bothered to ask me. When the food finally came, they claimed there was a problem in the kitchen--but there was a woman there who was served a hamburger and french fries--so how much of a problem were they having in the kitchen that they could not serve us chips and salsa? I could go on. However, they did upgrade our room (which was really nice), and the service improved after I complained. The location of the hotel is rough because if you want to go anywhere, you have to take a cab unless you have a car or are willing to bike in the heat. The cabs are expensive and the prices change with every driver. I would recommend renting a car if you can do that so you are not stuck. Rooms were nice, but I would recommend the balcony rooms--less dungeon like!
- Antaneia (10/5): Perfect! - Very clean and accommodating, had everything we needed. We actually left the initial hotel we booked after two nights to stay at Aloft. 100% satisfied! N/A
- Nefertari (10/5): Above n beyond - Great hotel with amazing upgrades
- izaackk (10/5): Thank you Luis! - Our experience at Aloft Tulum was amazing! My fiancé and I spent 4 nights at this hotel with no complaints. All of the staff members were very kind from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Luis, the front desk receptionist, gave us great recommendations for money exchange, food, and drinks. The staff was able to answer any questions and helped us set up transportation back to the airport. I would recommend this hotle to anyone who is looking to stay at a location that is accessible to the beach (10 min bike ride) as well as accessible to the pueblo. Best of both worlds!
- T (10/5): unfortunately I had a problem that did not allow me to enjoy my stay, but I would like to thank Mr. villanueva for being -
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Thomaslgj (2/5): Really bad experience! - We ha a really bad experience at this ALoft and can only recommend other travelers not to go there.
The hotel is lacking all attention to details and friendliness. When we arrived we got no welcome. No information about the property or breakfast and resort fee and more. Breakfast was a horrible experience! No clear information about offering. At the roof top there were no towels. I can go on with more.
We decided to check out early due to all this and we were informed that it was possible with no charge as long as we advised in time. After we had left we were charged for the third night too and management ignored us completely when trying to get the last night back. Also Marriott and Bonvoy did not assist! Overall bad experience from start to end.

- Camper07043598038 (10/5): Great value - Good value and at great location. Restaurant and convenient store at door step. The room was spacious and the pool has a stunning view of the forest. The service is quick and responsive. The only bad thing was someone knocking our door at 8:50am. I would come back again.
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Modern and spacious room. Nice decoration everywhere.
Nice infinity rooftop swimming pool. The music was extremely loud in the main areas, such as elevators, restaurant, swimming pool, etc.
The AC was quite strong everywhere.
The breakfast was a la carte, but there was only one option to choose 1 main dish, and there was no little buffet with some sweets, yogurts, etc., as other hotels have.
The parking was not free and we had to park outside (which was fine)
- Brittany (8/5): It was amazing - Everyone was really nice and the hotel was really clean N/a
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ebony (8/5): Don't be stingy - Great location. Clean facility. When we asked for a fan, they told us they didn't have one, but we saw others with one. We were instructed to walk 15 minutes down the street to purchase one. How rude!

- Leticia (10/5): Nice, Clean and good location - Beautiful Nothing
- Zagotto (8/5): Very good -

- Agustin (6/5): Good comfort, horrendous food - The hotel was clean, comfortable and from the top, it had a fantastic view. Front desk staff was very friendly, and the beds exceptional. Good TV entertainment. Food - the cost and sizing were ridiculous. Never ever ask for the 3 cheese quedasillas (a Tía Rosa wrap with a bit of cheese. Cost ~$12 USD, worth $2USD in reality). Also, the rest of the menu was too expensive for the portions. I don't suggest people to get the Destination Fee, not worth it. Finally, service staff were not fantastic.
- Taylorfamilytravelin (10/5): Always a great stay in Tulum - We enjoy this hotel so much we have stayed every time we are in Tulum! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the jungle view is beautiful. We have stayed in many of the different rooms but our favorite is the one bedroom suite with balcony. The terrace suite is nice too, but the terrace isn’t covered so when it rains you lose that space.
We love how accommodating and friendly the staff are. I think I lost something every day we were there last time (swimsuit coverup, sandals, car keys) and they were right there to make sure I was reunited with my items. The breakfast staff was great, they made sure you had everything you wanted and again, always a smile to great you. The bar staff was excellent also, we mainly ate at the downstairs bar and had our food delivered poolside. It didn’t take long for them to know our favorites! Make sure you take advantage of the 2 free drinks and the twentyish dollars in credit you get each night.
The rooftop pool is reserved for adults, but during the day if no one is up there, they did allow our son to get in (he is 10). The rooftop pool is great, it is an infinitely edge looking out at the jungle. The downstairs pool feels more intimate.
The housekeeping staff is also on point, we often only have housekeeping when we need it, a few days in to our stay usually, but the day we had it done everything was perfect upon our return, and the toys my son had bought were cutely arranged on his bed (which they also made up properly for us!).
The location is great for nearby restaurants (which I found to be better than the ones on the beach) and renting a car or scooter.
Take advantage of the lagoon snorkeling trip they offer as well, you have to rent the snorkel gear but the entrance fee and the transportation fee are included. In Tulum transportation so expensive!! We did not do the beach transportation but they do offer that.
They also have a laundry facility! We brought detergent and quarters with us.
If we were to come back to Tulum we would stay here again.
- 367mannied (10/5): Highly Recommend for Location and Service! - Amazing location! It was walking (or biking) distance to the main strip, which we quicky realized we wouldn't have wanted to stay on anyway. The bike rental was really convenient through the hotel, which is included with the resort fee.
The F&B credit in the resort fee is SO nice! We got guac everyday on the rooftop and it was so good. The rooftop service was incredible. I believe our server was called Martin and he was incredibly nice and helpful, we looked forward to seeing him everyday.
The rooms were very comfortable also, pretty spacious with a big shower and large vanity area.
The staff at the front desk was also very helpful and friendly. We were greeted each time we walked in.
Overall - highly recommend!
- 1975lucas (2/5): Scammed at the front desk. June 18,2024 12.20 pm - Scammed at the front desk. Shame on Bonvoy!!!
We asked the front desk guy with curly and glasses to get us a shuttle to the airport. He said ok. I asked how much he said 18.00 I said wow that's a good price 18.00. I then told my wife shuttles are cheaper it's only 18.00. the driver comes and it's a taxi. I told the front desk that's a taxi he said it's the same price. I said no way. He comes out and speaks English and says take them to Tulum airport for 18.00. I then pay in advance and ask for a receipt. The driver then ask for 80.00. the front desk guy than says yeah 80.00 because I cought their scam red handed. We then were yelling back and forth with me saying that's why you didn't get a shuttle. You are running a scam with taxis getting tips by price switching and not assisting guest on a budget with shuttle services. Even my wife standing with us heard him say 18.00 and heard me reat it back to him saying 18.00. this is a Bonvoy scam and I will use Hilton for all of my Miami getaways to Miami and Vegas. Unless I get a compensation or the scammer gets fired. If not no more trips to Cancun Westins or Miami W! Getaways which I've used
- Alexander (10/5): Well above expectations - Seems brand new, very fresh in a convenient location on the way to the beach zone. Well, of course it’s not a 5* as they claim here on Booking, the guys don’t even have slippers for the guests and the breakfast is a la carte and very modest. But these are minor things
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Angel (8/5): Very nice place to stay near everything. Will only work with the AC situation - The vibe and look of the hotel AC did not cool enough. We had it in the lowest temperature and highest fan and it still was a little hot. Thought it was me but all my family told me the same. The thing is that most of my family don’t like to be to cool and they were sweating.
- Lindesay (8/5): Very good -
- Destiny (8/5): Very good -
- Taneisha (1/5): Horrible. I had to find last min lodging more expensive - The location Blood on the handles in the bedroom. Blood on sheets. Yellow sweat and piss stains on the sheets. Electricity was out. Had to lug stuff up 2 flights including groceries first day. I slept in those sheets as I didn’t check them after a long drive from Cancun and being out in tulum since there was no electricity plus it was vacation I’m not going to stay in the room.
