Guest Reviews
- Eduardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Could be a 10/10 if ... - Amazing location, great for both snow activities (steps to Snow Summit) and summer (big back porch, front deck). Property was designed well, check in instructions were great. Spacious rooms with plenty of sleeping options for families or a group. There were extra linens, plenty of pillows and towels, lots of seating options, and a great loft/ Foosball table/ lounge area. Plenty of hot water, and the heat worked great in every room (no cold rooms/drafty areas). The overall condition of everything was pretty worn. The floors were in bad shape, the kitchen dishes/silverware/pots and pans were random, old, and cobbled together. For a property accommodating 10, there were 7 drinking glasses and 6 short "rocks" style glasses, plus 2 broken stemmed wine glasses and 1 stemless wine glass. Plenty of forks but only 6 spoons total and no serving spoons of any kind. All the pans were old, flaking non-stick, mis-matched with lids, etc.
The mattresses were so hard they were nearly unsleepable.
It's fairly clear that the extent of housekeeping has been cleaning floors, linens, countertops, and bathtubs while the deep cleaning has been neglected for a long time. The kitchen walls are spattered with food and grease, the shower heads are clogged with hard water deposits. Some outlets are so old/worn that plugs fall right out.
The instructions for using the fireplace were conflicting: one set said to use wood and turn the gas off as soon as the fire was lit, while the other said not to use wood at all. Similarly, the instructions for check out and trash disposal conflicted, with most instructions saying to leave the garbage in a central area for housekeeping while instructions by the door said houseguests must haul trash to the Big Bear Clean Site or face a $25/bag fine.
Overall, the property needs a deep clean and refreshing of kitchenware. That, along with better beds would make a world of difference in my desire to stay here again, as the location is amazing and the overall aesthetic and layout of the home is charming and great.
- Badagliacco-cabrera (7/5): Overall our stay was great. The staff was pretty easy to get a hold of and we’re able to answer our questions. If the ab - COZY, Clean, organized and properly socked with the essentials and enough of them. A few of the doors, shelves and the bathroom doors and vanities were broken. The floor in the kitchen was cracked in front of the fridge and a few other spots. The mattress were not very comfortable for any of my family.
