The staff went above and beyond—they were incredibly efficient, helpful, and welcoming. The location is absolutely perfect, situated just a short walk from both the subway and major bus lines, making it incredibly easy to explore Kyoto. On top of that, the amenities are amazing: having a gym on-site was a huge plus, and the playroom was fantastic for keeping the children entertained. The room itself featured the excellent, high-standard equipment that Mimaru is famous for. Everything was clean, modern, and perfectly thought out. We loved our stay here! Absolutely nothing! Everything was just perfect. It happens sometimes, and this was one of those times.

• Adam (9/5): Great hotel for a family that enjoys a bit more space - The facilities at Mimaru were great and the room is spacious for a family. The staff are excellent and very willing and able to help. They are a credit to the hotel chain. We were given a quiet room which was a big plus. There is a rooftop terrace that you can access up to 9pm. There is also a supermarket over the road that has all the conveniences you'll need for your stay. The kitchen is small but has the necessary items. The bathroom is large (twin basins) along with a spacious wet room. A couple of minor negatives include: bed is very firm, not much of a view from our room; not that it mattered as we were only there during sleeping hours anyway (and there is a rooftop terrace with views over the city and hills beyond), toilets open out to the main living space (but there are 2). Location is ok - it's still a 15 minute walk to the main streets of Kawaramachi, the Nishiki markets or Gion. We used Taxi's via the Go App most times and it was only roughly $10 to each of these tourist hotspots for all 4 of us.
• Micheal (10/5): - This was by far the most spacious room we stayed in during our holiday in Japan. The main bed had 2 large beds next to each other with a set of bunk beds at the end. Perfect room for a family. It had a lounge and a separate toilet to the bathroom. Probably 3 to 4 times bigger than anything else we stayed in. The traffic noise was particularly loud while we were there, (Thurs, Fri & Sat) not sure if it is always like that.

• Angeline (7/5): Comfortable room size for the family - Comfortable room with great layout. The bathtub and shower area was perfect. Kids enjoyed it. The beds/linen were a little dusty. The hotel is nearby a supermarket. But it is rather far from shopping area, Daimaru & Takashimaya. About 20 minutes walk. They provide same day luggage forwarding service. It is convenient to have. If you like a quieter neighborhood, this might be suitable for you. Far from eateries

Very very nice hotel. Coin laundry didn’t dry well. I know this doesn’t sound like much but it was a real inconvenience. Had to dry four times and request a drying rack. Another thing is drivers kept taking us to a back alley 100 yards behind the hotel in a residential area, while others made it to the front. Kind of a pain, but still a great place.

• Jennifer (8/5): pleasant! - The front desk staff are pleasant and always ready to help. The room cleaning crew is reliable. One day I left our passports and wallet in the room and went out for sightseeing. The passports and wallet were at their original place and it was a big relief. This hotel's staff are well-trained professionals.

• Angelina (10/5): Beautiful and clean hotel, perfect for the family - The hotel is so clean, modern and exceeded my expectation. The connecting rooms were so big and comfy. The location is close to bus stops and city centre. Will take a while if you walk to city centre. But there's bus.
• Juliana (9/5): - The room is good and has plenty of space for a family of 5. The downside is that the laundry is separate from the room facilities and paid.

• Tomislav (8/5): Great hotel, location ok - Nice hotel with great reception staff. All clean and new at hotel. Elevator fast, vending machines and food delivery availavle nearby and a 7/11 in 4 minutes walking distance. Old tv, not smart tv, but hdmi cable was connected so we could still stream our content somehow. Public transport not nearby, but Taxi (Go) pretty cheap in Kyoto so for family of four taxi almost same price.

• Scrivens (9/5): Spacious, clean and convenient - Very spacious room, very slight smell due to the kitchen but nothing too bad. The local subway was not as convenient as I had expected, the Mimaru closer to Kyoto station may have been a better location, but the room size and excellent Japanese toilet made up for it

• yuko (8/5): very good！！ - 事前の対応がスムーズで丁寧でした。 プロジェクタールームがあり、仕事での研修に使わせてもらえたり、アクセス方法も詳細な情報とあわせてお知らせして下さった。 お部屋はとても清潔に綺麗でありましたが、プロジェクタールームの清掃が行き届いていなかったことが若干残念でした。それ以外は十分なサービスです。
• Kristina (10/5): Would definitely stay again - The location was walking distance to many attractions and shopping. Most places about a 20 min walk. Beds were hard, but comfy. The room was different than what the picture showed, but still a good room.

• Shawn (10/5): Good balance of traditional look, but with western feel. - The room had a nice seating area, far more impressive than other Mimaru hotels we've stayed at. A very small, but relevant to my kids' experience is their Gatcha prizes for completing tasks. Cute sushi looking erasers. It was on the outskirts of the Kyoto tourist action.

• Nugroho (8/5): - The room design was good, especially for a family of four. The position of the air conditioner. The cold air was blowing straight into the main beds. Also the insulation in the walls did not provide enough soundproof, especially around the bathroom, so we could hear the showers loudly in the bedroom. I think if the management could improve these things, the comfort level would increase a lot.
