- 876julietp (10/5): Outstanding stay in luxury paradise - We arrived from Denpasar, struggling 2 hours through the traffic to arrive at the most beautiful, relaxing and luxurious hotel, an oasis of calm. We immediately received an upgrade to the biggest suite with private infinity pool overlooking the jungle and were guided through it expertly by Chess. Chess also proposed a 4 hour tour of the rice terraces, temple, waterfall and coffee plantation which we agreed on so that our 2 night stay would give us a flavour of Bali. We really enjoyed the short trip and the cultural insight explained by Chess. Meals at Cascades were excellent (the best French toast ever!) and our final night at Aperitif was outstanding. A big thank you for such a perfect end to our Indonesian adventure!
- Voyage51442016041 (10/5): Just beautiful - This was our first trip to Bali, and it quickly became clear we had chosen the perfect place to stay. We arrived early, had lunch at Cascades, and were pleasantly surprised to receive an early check‑in. As a Hilton Diamond member, I had booked through the Hilton network, and we were delighted to receive a room upgrade on arrival. The upgraded villa was beautiful, very spacious, and came with a lovely private outdoor area. We stayed on the lowest level of the villas, so we used the buggy service regularly to get up to the restaurant — this service was excellent every time. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with high‑quality fresh food and great service. I also loved the thoughtful touches in the room, like the homemade biscuits, crisps, and the regular supply of water and soft drinks. The complimentary shuttle into Ubud was another huge plus. We used it often when heading out for meals or shopping, and Ubud itself is definitely worth exploring. We enjoyed drinks at both Cascades and the Pinstripe Bar, which is connected to the fine‑dining restaurant Aperitif — another beautiful spot. The hotel also offers a number of weekly events. I joined the rice field tour, social hour, and the Balinese dancing evening (where we also had a lovely meal). All were excellent and really added to the overall experience. The entire property is beautifully laid out. There’s a well‑equipped gym and a cinema room, and I enjoyed wandering through the kitchen garden one morning — I was genuinely impressed by how much produce they grow on‑site. The location is ideal for visiting nearby rice terraces, waterfalls, and temples, but it’s also the perfect place to simply relax when you don’t feel like exploring. The staff were consistently helpful, offering suggestions and arranging transport whenever needed. Service throughout the hotel was outstanding — everyone was so attentive. I called this our “paradise place,” and I’m already missing it. We will definitely return.

We recently stayed at the Viceroy Bali for five nights and I can honestly say it is the nicest venue I have ever stayed at. We arrived late evening and the staff at reception were so welcoming. They showed us to our suite and we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and all the team are on hand to assist in making your stay memorable. The hotel and rooms are immaculate and are of a very high luxurious standard My son and his girlfriend joined us from Perth and we hadn't seen each other for over a year. We wanted somewhere special to spend quality family time together and the Viceroy didn't disappoint The venue is a very classy place, the terrace area is where you take breakfast and over the five days the staff constantly remembered what your requirements were. This made you feel very special and they were so friendly and efficient. The hotel has a romantic colonial feel about it and my son said he felt like he was on a James Bond set especially in the Pinstripe Bar! Reception assisted us with a half day tour package which was brilliant Temples, Waterfalls, Coffee Plantation, Rice terrace walk They also helped my son with scooter hire. The location is superb situated in the heart of the forest. Green, lush, it certainly takes you back to nature. Thank you Viceroy Bali for the most outstanding experience, we have fallen in love with Ubud and we will definitely be back

Private pool and interior lay out and material is simple yet very fine and elegant. From the check in point and throughout, the hospitality is genuinely warm and graceful. Balinese dance with dinner one night and 10minute massage by the pool was very thoughtful and i can not thank enough for what they had offered It was the paradise. Love to Viceroy Bali💕
- bunnys29 (10/5): Haven of peace and luxury in Ubud - I had a dream holiday at Viceroy in early April with my family. We had a luxury villa with spacious upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and our own swimming pool overlooking a lush green river valley. The accommodation was well maintained with all amenities and top class house keeping. A buggy was available at all times to visit all areas of the resort. The reception area of the hotel is done in nice Balinese style and also has a fabulous jade sculpture and photos preserved from the olden days. The breakfast at Cascades was always a treat with plenty of options and very personalised attentive service from all the staff. We also enjoyed lunches and dinners in Cascades. The complimentary drinks and canape at the bar attached to Apertif restaurant were enjoyed in excellent surroundings. The spa facilities were some of the best I have seen not just in Bali but the whole world. The resort is only about 10- 15 minutes away from Ubud and complimentary shuttle was available. All the staff at the resort are well trained, polite and provide excellent service. Adhi and Puspa in Reception and Wiratta, Margi as buggy drivers are the ones I managed to remember the most but every member of the staff was very helpful. Patrick, general manager, enquired regularly to ensure we were being well looked after. Overall I recommend this 5 star resort for your Ubud stay for its lush green surroundings, fabulous looking villas, gourmet food and 5 star service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The service at the restaurant was superb and the car shuttle was friendly and super reliable. The food was nicely done with great Indonesian specialties. The spa was incredible and with a great price point. It was sad to leave and would go back tomorrow.

The 2 restaurants, both casual and more formal, were both 5 star. Our Deluxe Pool Villa suite was by far the best accommodations we’ve had. The staff are wonderfully friendly, helpful and always smiling. My wife and I had couples massage twice at the spa, which was also amazing. Thank you to all who made our stay a most memorable one. We will be back for sure!
- 480mss (10/5): Outstanding experience at Viceroy Bali - My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Viceroy Bali in Ubud, recently. We went to Ubud to experience the "scene" (I have been to Bali several times, long ago), but the Viceroy stole the show! We are fortunate enough to stay in some very nice hotels and properties around the world, but the Viceroy took that experience to another level. We were so thoroughly impressed, both with the room (we had a private villa), the service, and the restaurant, and even the bar stands out! It was truly an unforgettable trip. I have to give special mention to the hotel staff, both the locals and the expats - terrific service, so friendly, and so helpful. Above and beyond the ordinary. We are not special people, or famous, or anything like that, but they made us feel so special that you would have thought we were! The friendliness of the staff throughout the property really impressed us (and like I said, we stay at some wonderful hotels around the world). Definite 5 star property. I also have to give special mention to the restaurant Asterik, as it was such an amazing dinner. Definitely Michelin quality throughout, and then after dinner, we enjoyed the lovely bar area. Normally a bar area is nice, but not worth special mention - the Viceroy bar is a different story. It has an "old world" feel to it that is hard to adequately describe. It's just got a vibe that you have to experience, with wonderful bar staff, and a cigar room as well! Nicely done on the Bar, Viceroy! And to top it off, after dinner we had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of the restaurant manager, Tomas, in the bar, and he was engaging, friendly and fun (and very knowledgeable about wine). Really capped our visit at the Viceroy. So happy we "splurged" to stay there. It's possible to get much cheaper accommodations in Ubud and Bali, but if you are going to splurge, this is the place to do it, and it's still a fraction of the price of what you would pay at any of the typical European cities that are popular tourist destinations. I would love to visit and stay there again!

A special recognition for staff member Julian who gave us a half day tour of Ubud. Very knowledgeable, great english and took us to all the top spots where he obviously has a great relationship with the people who worked there and helped us avoid the peak crowds too! Highly recommend.

Huge villa with incredible views over the valley beneath from the private pool. The staff go above and beyond what I expected and couldn’t do enough for me. The dinner that I had in their fine dining restaurant was one of the best I’ve had in Asia, plus the cocktails at the stylish bar were certainly well received. I’ll be back!

Without a doubt, this was the highlight of our time in Bali. It truly felt like the definition of a perfect vacation, and at times, we had to remind ourselves that we were actually there. One of our favorite moments was enjoying our private heated infinity pool, even while it was raining, an experience we’ll never forget. Another deeply meaningful highlight was participating in a Balinese blessing at the resort’s temple, followed by an unforgettable dinner at Apéritif. The entire evening was beautifully curated and incredibly special. The service throughout our five-day stay was exceptional in every sense. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel genuinely welcomed; not just as guests, but as friends. Their warmth and attention to detail were truly remarkable. We especially appreciated that the manager, Patrick, took the time to personally introduce himself, which added a thoughtful and personal touch to our experience. From the moment I arrived, it felt as though the outside world simply disappeared. Everything I needed was there—and more. I love to sense the energy of a space; it is one of my gifts. Yet, in this particular space, I felt more like myself. Can a place truly reveal that much of a person? I know Bali has that power, but at Viceroy, I felt elevated, spoiled, and deeply welcomed. The food—especially the dinner menu at Apéritif—blew my mind and my taste buds. I absolutely loved the concept of a menu inspired by the phases of the moon. Taking local ingredients and elevating them into something extraordinary felt like a deep honoring of Indonesian traditions, its people, and even the cycles of a woman. My respect for this place grew because of the reverence they show to the culture and the cosmos. Another high point was the service of the freshly baked pastries. It transported me to a small town in France; I can only imagine this is exactly how they serve croissants and pain au chocolat there. I could say so much more about the beds, the rooms, the bar, the cocktails, the view, and the incredible hospitality of the staff... but I will simply say: it gets better and better. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my friends Lori and Michael, who made this experience possible. Viceroy hotel has very human touch to their service as compared to large hotel chains. We were there for 4 nights and all the staff members knew our names. Hotel is beautiful, rooms are very spacious and have the most beautiful views of nature with soothing river sound. To top it off, their service is top notch: We had a complimenrary massage at their spa and that was the best massage I ever had(from Lisa). The breakfast at Cascade was another best one I ever had(specially after huge offering at Apurva). Its not buffet style but you could order as many things as you like from their menu and its served hot: Waffles were so light and crispy, delicious smoothies, creme brulee pastry(awesome!), french toast was so fluffy!!. They are always ready to customize each of their breakfast offering as per your taste. For example, I wanted sugarless smoothie and they made one special for me. We even had 30 minutes chat during breakfast with their general manager, which was very heart warming. Staff everywhere in the hotel and restaurants are very polite, courteous and genuinely trying to give you best service. Several staff members have been working there for a long time. Their shuttle service is very useful and best part is all communication(including room service, concierge, anything u need) could happen for a very fast response through whatsapp Few modifications I would suggest for the hotel: For a family, I missed having doors in the bathroom. Curtains for the bathroom are sheer curtains which do not work for a family.

At all times the staff went above and beyond to make sure we got the experience we wanted. Our room was incredible: its size, the private pool with an amazing view, the Bale to enjoy the afternoon or the evening. It was perfect. The hotel provides a shuttle into to town, or if you prefer you can organise a car into and back from town. A good marker of a great hotel is staff turnover. We met staff members (and more than a few) that have been there since more or less the opening. That says a lot on the quality of the place and of the management. Next time we are in Ubud we will certainly stay there!

Set in a lush tropical surroundings, our pool suite was spectacularly furnished and had everything one could ever need. Resort is located close to the famous monkey forest, even had a free shuttle; everything is close by Grab. One of the best breakfasts ever with lots of vegetarian options too and a glorious bar with every drink one could imagine. All this is great, but the one thing that impressed us most was the service. Everyone remembered our names and couldn't have been more delightful, professional and accommodating. Bravo. We will return!

During our time at the resort we enjoyed cocktails at the main restaurant Cascades where the General Manager Patrick took some time to catch up with us and other guests. Afterwards we explored the on-site Pin Stripe bar adjacent to Aperitif restaurant where we had the pleasure of meeting with the executive chef Nic Vdb, coincidentally also a Belgian native. The cocktails were to die for, both presentation and taste are very impressive. An amazing experience and we will be back for sure! Thank you to the Viceroy Team

With stunning forest valley views, amazing staff and the attention to every little detail, our stay was truly exceptional. We booked through Hilton Honors and our Diamond status was fully recognised - thank you! We were upgraded to a beautiful deluxe terrace pool suite which was spacious, luxurious and had an excellent pool which could be heated on request - although this wasn't needed during our stay. We thouroghly enjoyed the food in both restaurants which offer very different dining options. 'Aperitif' provided the best fine dining experience on the island with every dish finely crafted and delicious. 'Cascades' on the other hand was more relaxed with more traditional and beautifully created local food. Both were equally special in their own way and highly recommended!! We enjoyed two social evenings in Pinstripes and Cascades with excellent complementary cocktails and canapes which were delicious, enjoyable and great fun! The location of the hotel is perfect and not too far from the centre of Ubud which although was walkable for us, complementary shuttles are available and we loved chatting to Chess the resort driver - he really has a great sense of humour! The hotel boasts a state of the art gym with a very good selection of equipment and weights, a squash court and even a table tennis table! The amazing spa offered an excellent range of affordable treatments. Special thanks to Lisa our favourite therapist. The peace and tranquility of the hotel was something we appreciated for the five days we were lucky enough to stay here. You only live once, book it! - There are many 5 star resorts to choose from on this island but this one has an absolute humdinger of a showstopping setting that you cannot find anywhere in the world and that was why I chose it. We were made to feel like the most important people in the world when we arrived, staff knew how to be attentive and not overbearing. It surpassed expectations from the mist coming in over the trees in the evening to the spectacular sunrises in the morning, you are well placed in this photograph heaven. Food and cocktails in all restaurants were delicious and the staff were keen to ensure that everything was as it should be. I find some 5 star hotels can be very uptight but here the staff were friendly and professional at all times. Other minor things that were useful, buggy service was always prompt, tap water is safe to drink, live music available in the evening - which we loved, breakfast is not a buffet and I adored the menu (top notch!), fantastic wifi that did not cut out constantly (where in the world can you get that now?), heli pad available $1000k transfer to the airport if needed, the best butler/room service I have experienced, spacious rooms and bathrooms and a heated private pool. The spa was another highlight here and again I would recommend a visit. There are social hours on two afternoons and they served the finest cocktails and food in the most breathtaking setting. The hotel was well placed for us to visit many of the temples and this worked out well for us time wise. This hotel is not to be missed and you can see why it won the Conde Nest Best Resort Hotel in the world, simply put this place is spectacular. I will never forget my time here, matur suksma.

The scenery of being surrounded by nature, animals and local scene are just perfection for my relaxing trip to escape the city. You can see every corner got taken good care with healthy plants, clean floors, no trash at any walking/public area. The staff are super kind and always make sure that you are having a good time. Whenever they see you, always smile, say hello to you and asking if you need any help. Food was incredible, from breakfast to dinner, was beautifully presented with good flavors. Whether dining at the main restaurant or ordering in-villa, the quality is the same. And can't close this review without mentioning their spa treatments, you can't come here and leave without trying their traditional massage and the reflexology treatment, Lisa - my massage therapist - did such a good job, always checking if you want more strength or less, it was delightful experience after a long day of hiking outside. From the breathtaking view and beautiful villa to the warm and thoughtful service. All the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, especially Gung, Puspa, and Margi who made our stay so special. Me and my husband loved every moment here. It’s such a peaceful and luxurious escape, we didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to come back again soon.
- Dominique0892 (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - We had an absolutely fantastic 6-night stay at the Viceroy Bali. The property itself is stunning and impeccably clean - our villa was beautiful. The staff are the most helpful and friendly of any hotel we’ve stayed at - it was clear that a lot of care and training had gone into creating the level of service and it didn’t go unnoticed across all aspects, from housekeeping to reception to bar and restaurant staff. The food was delicious (we ate at Cascades restaurant multiple times!) The location is great - while it’s not in central Ubud (we liked this), the hotel offer a free shuttle to and from the centre (and the Monkey forest!) which was easy to arrange. We also took advantage of booking day trips through the hotel - we did two separate trips that we were able to customise to what we wanted to see and on both occasions the drivers were very knowledgeable and friendly. We cannot fault the hotel, we were sad to leave and would love to return!

- Ignat (10/5): Over our expectations and beyond - Viceroy has a very very very good quality and standard of accomodation and literally everything was perfect from my point of view! We stayed at the terrace Vila with a private pool and after 18 hours of traveling, the tiredness went away when indulging in the warm waters I would have liked to have something on which to dry out bathing suits after coming out of the pool, but that's the only thing.
- Sharonmifsud (10/5): The highlight of our fantastic holiday - This resort is the most beautiful place i have ever been. Tucked just over a luscious valley in Ubud you ll find this luxurious oasis. The attention given to the decor outside and inside the villas is impressive. The grounds are beautiful maintained. Service is Immaculate and all the staff is professionally trained. Food is divine. It deserves more that 5stars !! Will definitely recommend to pur family and friends as one cannot come to Bali and not experience this magical place.
- TravelMush (10/5): Viceroy Bali is simply outstanding - Simply outstanding. Impossible to fault anything about our stay, from arrival until departure the experience was perfect. The location is close enough to Ubud so that you can explore, yet far enough away so that you can escape. The friendly hospitality and Balinese vibes were ever present, our villa had the most incredible views whilst the vegan food during our stay was delicious. Viceroy Bali is an absolute gem that will impress you for sure.
- andrewsX6449XK (10/5): Paradise in the Jungle - From the min we stepped into the Viceroy it was service with a smile . What a simply fabulous experiance room , facilities and service were exceptional.. . What a paradise! We stayed in room 30 and the wow factor was very much there as the hotel and its surroundings quite calm , relaxing and second to none. We have done lots of travelling to some great places but this was right up there . Staff too many to single out as each and everyone were so friendly but not in your face . Viceroy really have got this right . If there would be anything i would add would be a little bit more entertainment on a night as not very much however that was ok for us as we went to relax. And relax we did.. Paradise !

Еще один приятный плюс - бесплатный шатл в центр Убуда. Как ни странно, на завтрак подают пакетированный сок. Есть только два фреша- арбуз и ананас, но их вкус оставляет желать лучшего.

- Simon (9/5): Thank you for the special - Excellent service, accommodation and location. Attentive staff everywhere, they will go over and above for you. The location and views are sensational, only 20 minutes or so to ubud on the free shuttle. We stayed for a couple nights after leaving another hotel after being really disappointed. The team managed to get us into a villa and upgrade us and they made sure we had a special few days. Thank you. We went full board, the food in the cascades was hit and miss. The western food & pastries/desserts was very good, the Indonesian food however, was disappointing and was tamed down for the western visitors (we were told). Considering the cost the local food choices should be on point when compared to local restaurants. I think we would have gone without full board if we returned.
- ChristopherC279 (10/5): Royalty for a Night! - I was whisked away for my birthday evening and had one of the most amazing stays of my life. It's hard to adequately express the majesty of this place. So much charm, privacy, traditional styling, ambiance, serenity; and then there's the amazing staff always at your service - anticipating your every need. And just when I thought they could not do anything more for me, upon discovering it was my birthday, they treated me with an added gift in the room, a surprise at dinner, and a surprise at breakfast. This all meant so much to me. It did feel like I was celebrating my birthday with family. We sampled food and drinks in all restaurants of Apertif, Cascade and Pinstrip while there, and all was made to perfection with such added flair. I remain amazed at the management and how well they are across everything. They truly have achieved the epitome of a true luxury resort, with a great story of it still being independent from chains which is so rare now. The story of this hotel is inspiring and I loved seeing members of family walking around and even dining with the guests. I surely recommend this as an ideal honeymoon resort, or just for an intimate and unforgettable escape as I needed. Thank you everyone at Viceroy for the unforgettable experience of one night in paradise.
- Reesa2013 (4/5): Gorgeous setting, disappointing room, good service, cold style - First the good: The setting is gorgeous. The jungle views are great. The infinity pool is lovely. Service was good but not exceptional. Some staff were amazing and some spent times just talking to each other. The shuttle to Ubud center was convenient. The bad or, not all bad but not what I'd expect at a luxury hotel: This is on me for not fully understanding the room. But I would NEVER book a Pool Suite again. I did not understand that the bathroom was outside. It is not "semi-outdoor" as listed in the description. It is outdoor. Let me explain: The main room is locked and temperature controlled. Outside that room is a covered patio which has the pool, a bath tub, sinks, a toilet stall (with a door) and a shower (with no door or shower curtain). Now, there were a few blinds that you could pull down for privacy on the patio but you could not make it fully private. I took the quickest showers of my life while staying here. Also, since it wasn't sealed, bugs (and in particular mosquitos) could come in. I was told not to leave items out because monkeys might come in. I saw ants on the wall. Getting a mosquito bite while you went out to use the bathroom one night is not what I planned for this trip. These are what you would expect in an outdoor setting but not in a luxury hotel. It was also not temperature controlled so that meant when you got out of the shower, you were instantly in full Bali temperature and humidity. It also meant if you had to use the bathroom at night, you had to go out in the humidity and heat to do so. Oh and there is a step down from the room to the bathroom. I don't know how I didn't wipe out while making that walk during early mornings or evenings. I felt like I was at summer camp taking my toiletries in and out with me each morning and evening. The room itself was also not well thought out. It was big and there was a lot of unused space. If you have the bathroom outdoors, maybe you should have a vanity or mirror area inside so you can get dressed inside. None of that existed. The seating area was very small. The overall style was just very cold. This hotel just feels like its from a different era, furnishings and style are very cold and the room I had (the Pool Suite) was not well thought out. I booked this hotel based on the reviews so it seems like some people do like this but it is definitely not for me or anyone that I know.
- 866fidai (10/5): Perfect retreat in Ubud - Stayed here 5 nights. The location is quite special; watching the mist rise from the valley whilst relaxing in your heated pool never gets tiring. The onsite restaurants are great and the food choice ensures you wont get bored during your stay. The gym, is the best gym I've been to within a hotel. The views from the treadmill are epic and there is a squash court. We used the Spa and visited the Pinstripe bar which is very cool indeed. Biggest plus is that everyone on site are super helpful and are great at making you feel welcome. The hotel organised two days out for us, and they have their own cars with a driver to take you on the planned day trip, so no time wasted finding a car etc. One of the best hotels I've stayed at.
- Masterclaes (10/5): A true Small Luxury Hotel of the World! - The Viceroy was a sanctuary of peace, luxury and excellent service. We arrived late in the evening after a not so nice experience in a hotel nearby where we decided to leave before even having spent one night there. We were shown different villa options and decided on the garden villa. A nice and spacious room with a private pool overlooking the river and jungle. The staff was very attentive and super friendly. Breakfast was a la carte with plenty of options. We are not fans of staying in hotels for dinner, but since there was bad weather and thus chaotic traffic in Ubud, we decided to have dinner in the hotel twice. Also that menu is very extensive. Check in and out was very easy. The hotel offers a shuttle service to Ubud centre which is very convenient. A small hotel with a lot of personal recognition, but it lacks a bit that bliss found in other upscale hotels. But that could be due to the bad weather we experienced. Maybe if there was sunshine that bliss would have been there, we do not know...

- Roadtripping1985 (10/5): The best place we've ever stayed! - To be honest, this has been the best place we’ve ever stayed. From start to finish, the service was exceptional and every detail thoughtfully considered. Your staff were so kind and accommodating throughout. I think Antara served us a few times. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and great craic! Our room was beautiful, with a stunning view by the pool. We stayed in a Deluxe Terrace Villa. Our final meal at Aperitif was on another level, and the bar staff in Pinstripe were brilliant as well. We had treatments in the spa also, which were superb! It was exceptional from beginning to end, and our only regret is not staying longer. We'll definitely be back!
