Guest Reviews
- MARK (10/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Hotel is good. No need to advertise the free breakfast. - Breakfast was horrible but the hotel itself is great. The breakfast was tiny, tasteless, and did not add value to the hotel experience.
- Rocel (7/5): Good -
- 4words (10/5): - Good value, good location and clean
- Jeremy (7/5): Good -
- Vel (7/5): Good -
- Niclas (4/5): Disappointing - Fairly well located, with night market practically outside the front door. Reception staff very friendly and courteous. Hotel is worn down. A/C in room was incredibly noisy. Bathroom too small, toilet leaking water on to the floor, and worst of all, I had to clean urine stains off the toilet seat upon my arrival.
- gwenjs2017 (10/5): Back to Alu Hotel Davao City - At long last , back to Davao City, now with friends! The hotel has improved its services since last time I was there.
Same friendly smiles from the lovely staff. They have complete toiletries now, so aside from toothbrush and toothpaste, they provide shampoo, lotion, showercaps etc in neat boxes.
They served breakfast and ala carte meals through out evening! Being a small hotel with big enough rooms is comforting! Just a few walk from hotel is the nightmarket which is as usual very organized and secured. From there we binged on grilled food, durian and durian icecream, pomelo free taste too!
- kb2nel (4/5): I don't think we can call this a hotel - This could fall under the category of a lodging house, instead. Rooms are old and would need renovation. I understand why they wanted to reinforce a no-food/drink policy in the room because it seems there are ants already living in the room. Even without food and drinks, they are on the table. Sheets and towels are no longer white. Limited cable channels. Typical for a lodging house, but not for a 'hotel. One strong push at the door and it immediately opens even when locked.
I appreciate the friendliness of the staff. But I don't appreciate the overpriced menu at their restaurant and asking us to pay P25 for a cup of hot water.
Wi-fi signal is strong.
- ProfessorUno (10/5): Busy & Delicious Davao - The hotel was located in downtown Davao. It was easy to locate and it was convenient to take the public transportation to go around downtown Davao.
The hotel had modest amenities. It was clean and the aircon was cool. The buffet breakfast was ok but travellers can opt to take his/her breakfast outside the hotel.
The hotel is located right smack in the Davao Night Market with restaurants (big and small) dotting both sides of the street.
- A4208PNjasonk (8/5): Nice Place needs renovation - The cost was fair and the location was good. The halls can be very noisy and the rooms need a renovation. For breakfast we were only allowed certain meals. The live music at dinner was nice , but very loud.
- shenriva (6/5): Great location - Well maintained small hotel that is located in the heart of Davao city. Night market is open every night starting from 6pm onwards. And it’s just a few step outside the hotel.
Room was good but it need but it need additional facilities like sleepers, bathrobe, and hair dryer. It was tidy and everything you can see inside just basic. Bathroom need a good scrub.
When it come to foods, it’s wast disgusting. No taste at all specially their omelette. and they serve you just a toast bread, no butter or nothing. Chef need more training on how to cook breakfast.
But it’s just a cheap hotel, you will got
What you paid for.
- marichel307 (10/5): Good for its price! - I stayed in the hotel with my family. The location is very ideal and great. It is few walks away from the night market. The food was okay too. The room given to us very clean and comfortable. We will stay again in this hotel once we return back to Davao.
- 278dand (10/5): Decent hotel - Right in center of Davao City. On Roxas. Get the junior room not the standard. Junior is bigger room and has a fridge. Standard doesn’t. WiFi is pretty good and free breakfast is not bad. I’d stay here again
- gelait2017 (10/5): Location location! - We stayed here for one night before heading back to Cebu City.
I booked this hotel using the travelbook app and I was really glad because I still had points left so what I did is I used the points and only paid like maybe 20 pesos upon arrival. The hotel staff during that time was really shocked to know that I had some points to use and I only paid 20 pesos. Im so happy I have that app. They even had a buffet for breakfast! :)
I really loved the location! It was near the night market!
On the 6th floor, you can see the night market from up there.
Rooms are small but bed was very comfortable. We had 2 single beds, a tv and a beautiful view.
Will I be back? Yes yes yes!!!
- Ardentus (8/5): Great Budget Hotel - Hotel is small, 6 floors but with elevator. The building and room looks old but well maintained. Our room is basic, with soft comfy bed, hot shower, and cable tv.
The hotel staff are very nice too. Always accomodating.
The room comes with free breakfast. I think they have buffet during weekends and plated breakfast on weekdays. The food at their cafe is above average. Definitely a must try and not expensive like what you expect on hotel cafe’s.
The location is also perfect. Just literally a few steps away is the roxas night market. I highly recommend this hotel.
- 15ayak (8/5): Amazing dining area - Hotel is just okay for the price. The dining area is very nice despite its limited space. I must say they made good use of their space. The staff are nice and accommodating, too. The rooms are good. The street where this hotel is located is a busy one esp at night.
- 856mariapatricias (10/5): Great Experience, Great Location - You will definitely feel at home in this place. The staff are friendly. The location is awesome. The food is okay for me (not the best), but I have no issues because the prices are actually great! If you want a place with great location and within your budget, pick this place.
- jericrosales (10/5): GREAT BUDGET HOTEL AT THE HEART OF THE CITY - Place was very convenient. Very Near Ateneo and Roxas Night Market. Room had a fast free wifi. Food was okay but Overall, the hotel was Great!!
P.S. You can dine on the Tuna Express near the Hotel. Grilled Seafoods was awesome.
- tianneXtianne (8/5): Convenient place to stay and very accommodating staff - we found this hotel through travelbook and got a cheaper price than their published rates..we stayed here for two nights. This hotel is conveniently located along roxas ave. so many jeepneys pass through there.. sign boards are no longer allowed in davao so better ask the driver if they'll pass roxas ave. before boarding one..
The hotel staff and davaoenos in general are friendly and very helpful and we got to almost all of our destinations through public transportation (so yey for big savings!).
Airconditioning was good. Wifi was also good. Buffet breakfast food was meh for me-there's a carenderia outside if you want other food choices..
Our flight back was early in the morning, and the staff packed our day 2 breakfast for us-yummy bacon and eggs.. anyway i really enjoyed my 2.5-days davao trip.
- haroldw505 (6/5): OK but has some problems. - The staff are very friendly and helpful. They saved us a lot of pesos by stepping in when the Taxi driver wanted to rip us off for a short trip to the ferry. The air conditioning is very good! The bed and mattress is very soft and hurt my back after one night.
- argael17 (6/5): basic hotel - affordable but dont expect too much. got the room promo via travelbook.ph for 900 with free breakfast (for 2).
room is ok, but the wall says it age... old. hehehe and quite filthy. sorry alu... but thats true. room 506. but hey.. why should complain? its only 900! 😀
breakfast is buffet, from 7-9am only. they served rice, hotdog, egg and bangus. coffee (a lil bit coffee and a lot of water), tang pineapple juice. (i know exactly the taste, or i may be wrong?)
we ate bfast @8am. hmmm its ok, theres only 2 eggs and 2 bangus left hahahhaha you have to ask staff to refill it. yeah, they did refill it with 10pcs hotdogs, 3 eggs, 5 bangus. i cant forget!
😂
but all in all. its ok, for budget traveller. dont demand too much! i dont, i just wrote review.
- RAZMON (8/5): EXCELLENT HOTEL STAFF SERVICE - This hotel asset is definitely its staff. Staff were very professional and hospitable from the receptionist to the guard, room attendants and their supervisor and to the one serving the food.
Food prices were very reasonable that you do not feel like going out and eat somewhere else. The choices were excellent.
- elviep2014 (8/5): Nicwe friendly staff/good location - Room size is ok but the washroom is quite small. It has its own restaurant on the main floor. Buffet breakfast is provided but nothing spectacular about it. Selection includes corned beef, hard boiled eggs, hotdogs and rice.
The hotel is about 15 to 20 minute walk from People's Park and steps away from the night market. There are a few eateries around the area as well.
We were pleased with the staff of the hotel, from the security guard all the way to the Front desk. They were all very helpful in giving us directions whenever needed. We hired the hotel van for 8 hours as we wanted to go to the Philippine Eagle Centre and Malagos Resort. Our driver was equally friendly and professional.
- 118keziaht (6/5): good place for the right price - clean, good location, near shopping (pasalubong centers) and night market (boulevard)
will consider staying here again for next trip.
free breakfast is good.
service is okay (average) but I do not have negative experience during my stay.
- maykle (6/5): Basic hotel in an interesting part of town - I visited Davao for business and stayed for two nights. There was a convention in the city and most of the hotels were fully booked so I had to look for one. They have their contact number on the internet and i was able to get a quick reservation after one call. The staff at the counter was friendly and she was able to check me in really quick. I got the family suite since everything else was booked. The room is on the fifth floor and made it a little far from the night market downstairs. the room is basic with a queen size bed and smaller one on the side. it was a little hard with few pillows but enough to get a decent sleep. the aircon is working fine and there is a small tv that is too far away that you can hardly see anything. the bathroom is clean despite having old towels. soap and shampoo is provided but you have to get toothbrush and toothpaste elsewhere. luckily there are small shops outside the hotel. the room lighting suggests more like a hospital than a hotel but i am being picky here. in the end, i am here for work and it gives me a place to freshen up and rest after a long day. it helps that it is near the night market and a place where you buy local pomelos. internet is fast as well.
- empress3663 (6/5): Average Hotel - The room is ordinary, with a slighty comfy feel. The bathroom was ok but the shower space was too small. Place is clean but the aircon leaks to the table. The bed is quiye old, the springs are not supportive so you end up bouncing when you want to turn. I got a promo from Booking.com so we only paid P900+ but the regular price is P1750
