- shawn (8/5): - Location to dive quarry Just basic rooms but the price does reflect it.

- Lorna (3/5): rooms in need of updatig - Rooms are in desperate need of updating. Rooms were very cold
- Earls (10/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): -
- Meredith (8/5): - Beautiful place, location and food. Clean and fresh rooms with ample facilities in room's
Great budget hotel Outside impression was poor with weeds on all borders and between slabs in children's play area.
Outside fencing needs a good spruce up.
Had a great stay but felt the owners were letting themselves down.
- Donna (1/5): Not exactly what we were expecting - Breakfast was ok The cleanliness of the rooms, cobwebs all along the walls and ceiling, the room we were allocated was only set up for one person although there were 2 of us so we had to go and get a towel, cup, glass and tea/coffee from reception.
The plumbing/drainage in the room was horrendous, they are obviously connected to a macerator which was constantly going all night and when next door was using their bathroom we could hear the noise of it from theirs.
There was a gap round the outside door.
- Guest (8/5): - The rooms have been updated since my last stay. Nice and clean. The paintwork outside on the windows need to be updated, its mouldy and falling apart and the Weeds outside could be cut down.
- Keith (8/5): -
- Fran (4/5): Disappointing - Convenient location and good value Couldn’t get into the first room we were given so changed. Had to get more towels, mug, remote control. Shower didn’t work. Strange rumbling noise in room every 30 seconds at all times.
- Helen (2/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Marilyn (7/5): Value for money - Price and position. Excellent shower Room needed attention. Paintwork chipped and dirty.
- Neil (8/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): Pleasant and would stay again - The staff were very helpful, polite and cheerful .
Also the baths had plenty of hot water and fast to fill up . Nothing
- Lisa (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. They sorted out our heaters not going on. Lovely breakfast. I noticed the bath still had hairs on it from the previous occupant. I couldn't detatch the shower to give hte tub a quick spray before I had a bath.
- David (8/5): -
- Nigel (6/5): - I stayed overnight , the room was good/comfortable and there was a good choice for breakfast. The clientele.
There were unruly small children running around noisily and the parentswerealso very rough, I had travelled 150 miles to see and entertain my daughter and husband. (They live within a mile of the venue.
Not a pleasant experience.
- Marie-Louise (5/5): Needs a refresh - Friendly staff when checked in and breakfast. Bathroom was clean but room was grotty.
- Jan (9/5): Comfy, convenient - N/A Think its too expensive - some eat more than others ( small/large appetites) and dietary needs.
- fiona (9/5): - Rooms independent from pub. Easy access M1 and Fosse Park
- Dorothy (1/5): I’d recommend somewhere else! - Location and friendly staff Dirty, noisy, cold, smelly. No heating, no hot water.
- Aquamanda (4/5): Only stay if you are a VERY heavy sleeper! Because it’s extremely noisy ALL NIGHT LONG. Do NOT recommend unfortunately : - The Mill On The Soar has been a part of my life for over 30 years. I’d go there regularly as a little girl when living in Cosby over 30 years ago. It used to absolutely wonderful. And hold a lot of beautiful memories. The service was ok, sad that you have to go up and order everything yourself at the bar but food was good non the less. The room was clean and ok for one night. DO NOT STAY IF YOU LIKE PEACE & QUIET!!! I will NOT ever stay over night ever again. As per MANY other reviews, the rooms are NOT equipped for comfort. And despite staff responses from long long ago saying they will address the issues, clearly they do not plan on ever doing anything to rectify the noise issues. And, unfortunately that’s counter productive on their part because you’re losing TONNES of customers! Pipe work/water heater LOUD ALL NIGHT LONG ALL HOURS every few minutes. Not just when in use! Traffic noise vibrates through the pillows. Wardrobe doors wouldn’t open at all, seemed quite dangerous actually (room 1) heating uncontrolled, sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold. WIFI VERY POOR.
Didn’t get to drop off to sleep until 5am! And even that was broken sleep! Missed breakfast because of this! Got about 3hrs in total and had a 6 hour drive the next day! Absolutely terrible! Would not recommend :( sorry to say. Fond memories slightly tarnished now. I hope they bother to take some pride one day because they’re losing potential regular custom and not taking complaints seriously. If it closes down one day, you’ll know why. Very sad :(
- Neil (4/5): Price ok but quality of stay, hot water etc not a great experience - Close to Enderby and staff very good No hot water many days, mold on windows and headboard was very dusty so obviously not wiped down. Breakfast croissants sometimes stale
- Mark (7/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): -
- benedicte (3/5): Expensive for what it is, dated and noisy - Close to Stoney Cove so practical Radiators are terrible and limit safe. Bed quality was very poor. Bathroom is totally dated. Wardrobe rail was broken. One of the shed lamp needed replacing. Very noisy, I couldn't sleep at all. Breakfast was awful and had to wait 8am so late for it.
- joanne (6/5): Over all ok, but take ear plugs as the pipe work there whenever used is vey noisy ( all night) - Very near to Stoney cove dive site Closeness to where I needed to go
- TERESA (10/5): - Nice quiet pub, very clean room. Lovely polite staff.
- steven (10/5): - Great place to stay for our needs as dive club All was great as normal
- Ben (7/5): -
- Woolley (9/5): - The location is perfect for my travels.. N/A
- GERALD (9/5): Loved it, I'll be dropping in every time I'm headed this way. - Got a ground floor room as requested, food was good. The weather.
- Jacquelin (7/5): Would have been ok if not for the noise - It was clean The heating pump was going all night so barely slept.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Michael (3/5): Not great at all - Not a great deal the bed was ok and t he e heating worked the breakfast was ok but not as good value as say premium inn all you can eat breakfast The shower curtain was absolutely filthy and should’ve been thrown in the bin so much so that my wife would not use the shower. The toilet seat was loose and kept coming off. The wardrobe. Drawers were difficult to open and one had come away. The windows were filthy and did not close properly. The room obviously had never been checked for quite some time otherwise these things would’ve been picked up and sorted out.
- Dave (4/5): Lovely room, good value, but spoiled by the noisy plumbing. - Lovely room, Hungry Horse pub was fine for what it is. There's something wrong with the plumbing in the standalone accommodation block. The macerator(?) seems to be working constantly or cutting in/out through the night. Very noisy and guaranteed to wake guests up.
- Nick (8/5): - staff, convinience. no hot water, but got moved straight away
- Gilberto (8/5): -
- Mr P (9/5): -
- David (4/5): Hardly the ritz - Location was fine. Pub being on site was a bonus. Cheap. First room I was offered had a random sound of a pump running coming through the wall every 5-10 seconds. This went on for about half an hour before I went to complain. First member of staff said that was the pump for the sink/showers and all rooms had it. It would be quieter when people weren't showering. Duty manager said it was from the boiler house or something similar and moved me to an upgraded room in another block. When changing rooms, I noticed the original room's sheets were soiled/stained also. New room wasn't particularly an upgrade but it was absent pump noises. However windows did not seal properly so a lot of noise coming through from the outside.

- Luke (10/5): -
- Laura (6/5): Other than the noise that did affect me getting off to sleep, everything else was great! - Clean, spacious, great location. The noise coming from adjacent rooms every time they used their bathroom. Water pipes and extractor fans.
- nigel (8/5): -
- Paul (3/5): Couldn’t sleep due to noise of plumbing - Handy location Cobwebs everywhere, and not very clean. Heating broken.
Main issue was a ridiculously loud noise every time somebody turned on a tap or flushed the toilet. There’s obviously a pump located somewhere near my room, which meant I hardly slept.
I brought this to the attention of a very helpful and apologetic young team member in the morning who told me this is a regular issue depending on the room being stayed in.
She assured me that a manager would call me to discuss, but as this hasn’t happened I’ve marked down the scores accordingly.
- John (7/5): -
- Paul (8/5): - Nice room, very spacious. Poor maintenance, doors and windows not closing properly.
- John (8/5): -
- cheryl (6/5): -
- Barry Cyprus (5/5): Standards dropped from our last visit - It was close to my daughter's house. They don't have room to put us up so we stayed at Mill on the Soar. The rooms are pretty run down. Old wooden windows don't close properly. We found the breakfast choices were very confusing. Possibly to get guests to pay more
- Lizzzie91 (4/5): Great place except could do with a spruce up - The bed was fantastic The bathroom
The bathroom door stuck and my husband got trapped in there
And the loo seat wasn't fixed very well to the loo keeped coming off
- Deborah (10/5): Nice enough stay. I would recommend - Convenience I had no control over radiators. They were cold
- lisa (6/5): Delivered what I needed for one night - Close to where I needed to be I was in the separate building at the back of the property and didn’t feel particularly safe as a solo traveler, man road was very noisy until late at night and very early in the morning
- Mark (8/5): -
- Hans (9/5): NIce - Good breakfast, cheap good dinmer and clean room.
- Carol (10/5): - The rooms are comfortable and the staff are excellent always there to help you, and the food is really good also the breakfast is good , thankyou 😊
- Emma (8/5): -
- David (4/5): Would be excellent if the water pump issue is solved. - Friendly and helpful staff who were very prompt dealing with issues. The room was comfortable. We had to move room due to excessive, repetitive noise from a faulty water pump. The new room was still very noisy when its water pump was going.
The room was set up for a single person, not for the two of us.
- Julie (9/5): Nice place to stay. - Excellent value for money. Local to family. USB ports didn’t work
- Sharron (7/5): Decent room... non existent wifi - Room was big and spacious. Staff were very nice. Literally no WIFi in the room.even though we used the hotels log ons. This really impacted our stay as we had to be able to answer emails and keep in touch with people due to things going on at home.
We used the onsite restaurant for the first night. The food was awful. Dry and shrivelled and barely edible. Breakfast was slightly better.
I wouldn't return unless the WiFi issue was sorted.
- Barbara (8/5): Comfortable night’s sleep and lovely breakfast - The location was ideal for where we were going It’s near the restaurant/pub
- Matt (7/5): -
- Marc (10/5): -
- Marc (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): No - Fine Nothing
- Clare (8/5): -
- Seamus (5/5): - No
- mellor (9/5): - Staff very helpful Room was clean and comfortable Food was excellent and location was perfect
- Laura (9/5): Lovely welcoming accommodating staff.room lovely and clean and everything sorted ready for my arrival such as the trave - Plenty of space and everything needed was there.
- Jennifer (10/5): Excellent place to stay, great value for money. Family and child friendly. - The room was very well set out and was very clean and comfortable. Very good value for money. My order for breakfast was no problem and arrived hot and ready to eat. The location was ideal for the meeting I had. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. These are very nit picking points as I really enjoyed my stay. The kettle made an awful noise as it boiled like it was going to pop. The door has a gap which lets a little light in which feels a little scary. The windows could do with double glazing to limit the noise from traffic to the front, people outside having a cigarette to the front and vehicles and people in and out their cars which is right by the window and entry door. For safety there should be a barrier to stop an inadvertent reverse going into the rooms. These are minor things and would not detract me from staying again.
- melanie (5/5): - Facilities were fine Cobwebs and spiders, drunk people arguing in the car park.
- Jan (8/5): Comfortable and quiet. Near to family -
- Monica (10/5): - Enjoyed every minute of our stay
- Aidan (7/5): Perfectly average - Nothing in particular. You get what you pay for Again. You get what you pay for
- Aidan (7/5): Just fine, pub is nice, room are average but reflect the price - It was all fine, nothing specific. It’s a bit dated. A fridge and aircon would have been useful. And also, the shower didn’t work properly
- Hayley (8/5): - I liked that my room was away from the pub so it wasn’t too noisy The fire alarm went off around 00:10, the emergency line was called however it went to voicemail. When staff did arrive we were informed a certain room had been the location detected but there was no apology for us waiting so long out in the cold
- Colin (5/5): - Location, quietness of the room
Bar/restaurant staff very friendly The synthetic pillows
The food quality
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Anwar (9/5): -
- Katrina (6/5): -
- Nigel (4/5): Room good; the rest overpriced and poor quality - Clean comfy Food was terrible
- Robert (3/5): Disappointing. - Great location This is my second stay where there has been a power failure. The first left us without a restaurant and the one on Friday left me without heating in my room in the coldest day of the year.
I waited outside the restaurant this morning until about 08h20, and gave up and left without breakfast. The restaurant was supposed to open at 08h00.
- Glyn (1/5): Wouldn’t stay there again - The breakfast was ok , apart from that, nothing else good When running any water , there was a very loud noise. Flushing the loo, hand bowl and shower. Somewhere in the block, every 4 or 5 minutes there was a loud noise , again sounding like when running water noise. Breakfast was supposed to be at 8am , under a slight time concern, the doors didn’t open till 8.25, which made me late, I was going to leave but had to hand my key in .
- John (1/5): - Comfortable bed The sound of what we believe to be the masserator in the bathroom going off every 8/10 minutes
- Neil (7/5): Nice hotel - Great room, easy parking, friendly staff Food, cold nachos, no cheese, gammon tasteless
- Glenn (8/5): - Friendly team in the pub, clean & comfortable beds Heating wasn't on in either room for arrival like last time. Showers are rubbish!
- Paul (7/5): -
- TERRY (9/5): -
- Cameron (7/5): -
- Kate (8/5): -
- brunsdon (4/5): - Rooms are comfortable and clean We often stay here when visiting my daughter and love the hotel unfortunately the plumbing noises were awful all night and all day. We couldn't sleep
- Karen (10/5): Excellent - As festive period everything explained on check in
- Sarah-jane (6/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): - It was convenient Would have liked a walk-in shower
