• Thomas (10/5): Make this your first stop in Japan! - Beautiful, quiet, rural location, within walking distance of Hijirikogen train station and town. A truly unique stay and well worth the journey to get here. Stunning food and unmatched service from the kind and generous Kimi-san and family. We had our 6 month old baby with us and were truly welcomed and cared for. NA

• Kriti (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - The Ryokan was very thoughtfully designed and decorated to reflect the values of the owners and the culture. It was very serene, absolutely beautiful, gorgeous garden. A tea room, a dining room, a nap room…all designed with comfort and warmth in mind. Kimi and his family were amazing hosts and we had a fantastic time! Kimi made sure to drop us to the nearby station every time! And the one time we insisted on walking the 20 minutes but looked like we might miss the train - Kimi somehow came along to pick us up and drop us off perfectly in time. He had seen us leave and kindly drove over thinking we might need help. Just as beautiful as the ryokan was, we had a wonderful time connecting with Kimi and hearing his story too - a wonderful person! And his mum is also amazing! Every morning she cooked us the MOST delicious food we have had in Japan! We have been trying some Michelin star restaurants and hole-in-the-wall type local places too but, my goodness, her food was some of the most delicious we had on the entire trip! Honestly I 1000000% recommend this stay and we will most definitely be coming specifically to Omi again just to stay at this beautiful Ryokan and to meet its kind owners again. Everything was great!

• かおり (8/5): 忘れられない唯一無二の宿泊体験 - 建物の素晴らしさもさることながら、ご主人の丁寧で穏やかな、程よい距離感のご対応に心底癒されました。お食事は朝食のみいただきましたが、お母様が調理されたという、丁寧で素朴な、地元の無農薬野菜を使用したお料理はどれもとても美味しかったです。麻績村というのどかな山村に出会うきっかけをいただくことができたのも、かけがえのない思い出になりました。 高齢者とともに滞在させていただいた都合上、ちょっとした段差やお部屋の広さなどに少しだけのびのびできない部分もありました。とはいえ事前にその点をご相談した上で、最大限のご配慮をいただき感謝しております。
• Aida (10/5): A warm, memorable stay with a lovely host, delicious farm-to-table breakfast, and a beautifully designed ryokan - We had a wonderful stay at this ryokan, made especially memorable by Kimi, the host, who was incredibly helpful and thoughtful in every way. Breakfast was a delightful farm-to-table experience, lovingly prepared by his mum. The ryokan itself was special, with a unique iron bath and many charming details, while the main building — housing an art gallery, dining hall, and reception — was simply beautiful. The property was also immaculately and tastefully landscaped, creating a very peaceful atmosphere.
• Toshimasa (10/5): 大切な人にだけ教えたい、人生最高の宿 - 最高の宿泊体験でした。 ホストの素敵な人間性が表れた、素晴らしい宿です。 食事については、畑で採れた食材や長野県産の食材中心に構成されており、心から温まる料理でした。 施設についても、どの家具もこだわりが感じられました。 12月はじめに伺い、夜の冷え込みが強くなる頃でしたが、たくさんの配慮や心配りのおかげで、心から温まるひとときを過ごせました。また違う季節に赴き、それぞれの季節をここで楽しみたいです。 特にありません。

• Jeroen (10/5): Hidden gem in the countryside with wonderful hosts - Beautiful place in a quaint little village. Perfect place outside the usual tourist areas with good access to the highway to reach other places in the area. Excellent host who genuinely listens and gets back to you with ideas. The house has been beautifully restored with great design elements and furnishings. I loved it all. Delicious food prepared by the family. They even created a specific vegan menu for us! Couldn't recommend it more.
