Guest Reviews

- NicheWiche (9/5): Comfortable with lovely surroundings and amenities - Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are comfortable and spacious.
- Aslanbek (10/5): Taken care of, nourished and well-treated - Everything! The lodge was so spacious, well-decorated and well-equipped. The location is very peaceful and quiet. But most importantly the staff was amazing: they helped us with the activities, transfers breakfasts and dinners. Our thanks to Irene and Kaylin (I hope the spelling is right) for making our stay comfortable and taken care of! -

Dépaysement magnifique.

- Peter (9/5): - Ein bisschen Baumhausfeeling, tolles Abendessen und Frühstück. Inmitten der Natur
- Prudence (10/5): Definitely going back - Loved the privacy and being in the middle of the reserve as a single unit. I loved everything, the bugs, sunrise, sunset!
- Joao Alberto (9/5): Ich habe mein Aufenthalt hier genossen.

- Eras (8/5): - Lovely private chalets. Close to nature, a good break from city noise. Charmaine was a great host with good local knowledge and guidance.
- Mark Schuin (8/5): - Vriendelijk personeel.
- Gerry (10/5): staff was amazing always there ready to help and make you feel welcome - everything was great food was very good breakfast made to order every morning nothing everything was perfect

Location
Just gorgeous… Dinner was so disappointing on both nights…
First night was mince and rice and some vetkoek, confusing really
Second night was chickpea salad with a pie and gravy 😱
- Bernard (7/5): - View from rooms and viewing deck was nice.
Charmaine very kind, helpfull and good Company. Rooms not servised daily, food was ok...
Expected welcome and luggage courier on arrival.
Game drive/Ranger was disappointing, Uninformed.
- Ana Paula Goes (10/5): Maravilhosa estadia!
- carmina (10/5): - El trato persolinazado y familiar.
- LEONE (10/5): - Tudo. Especialmente o quarto e jantar. Fica há 40 minutos da entrada do Kriguer. Ficaria mais próxima em uma próxima vez.
- Hlengiwe (8/5): -
- Lisa (7/5): Fantastic value and very helpful friendly staff - Very friendly and super helpful team who andvised and arranged great safari drives - I recommend the full day in Kruger. Breakfasts and dinner were great and served promptly in the dining room. Our rooms and beds were very comfortable and one room was made up as a twin on our request as travelling as a family. Plenty of hot water and a good size shower space! Cute braai and pool area and very nice to have wooden walkways to our rooms. There was a high viewing platform by a waterhole so we saw giraffe, zebra and warthog, plus in the reserve near the lodge were deer and antelope and buffalo. We missed the cheetah by a couple of days! The Guernsey reserve where the lodge was situated made us feel like we were already on safari, and it was only a 50 min drive to the Orpen gate of Kruger Park where we saw lions as soon as we entered Kruger!
- Samia (7/5): Into the bush... - -The location of the lodge in a private reserve
-The room was unusual, cosy and nicely decorated
-You can see animals through the bay window
-We had a nice welcome from Cailen, she always helped us out if we needed anything
-Our drivers on the Sundowner drive and Daison (kruger park) were really friendly and helpful, we had a really nice time.
Cailen also changed our half day to a full day in a short notice :) -The food wasn't what we expected for a 4 star lodge unfortunately (not enough on our first night, with no options to choose and not refined), but they did make an effort on the second night and we appreciated it.
-Some rooms didn't have heating, and hot water, but the problem was solved the next day
-It is 1 hour from the Kruger National Gate (maybe not a problem for some people, but with 2 children, and with the cold mornings, it was can be challenging)
- Potoko (5/5): Passable -
- Mahlangu (5/5): It was fairly good but needs to prioritise guests at arrival. - The food was great with very nice views in a quite area. The parking was far and there no porters. Very difficult to carry your luggage there. This is only suitable for masculine individuals.
- Danai (7/5): Good -
- Judith (10/5): Next time we will stay longer! - Very beautiful lodge, inside a private game reserve. Dinner was very good and the hosts are very caring and welcoming. Our flight was cancelled and they agreed to postpone our stay. Nothing
- Annie (10/5): Relaxing and nothing too much trouble. - We loved Panzi lodge from start to finish. Charmaine and all the other staff were really helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and we felt relaxed and chilled out. Loved seeing the wildlife around the lodge and listening to the night time chorus.
- Spaan (8/5): Very good -
- Sarkhot (9/5): Superb - Charmaine and everything she did Nothing
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Food and attitude of the staff fantastic The road near the lodge very bad
- Hannahlize (10/5): A big shout out to lerato, jose, tsepang!!!!! U guys went far and beyond!! We were travelling for a friend reunion and y - The rooms, the staff and the service!!!!!! Absolutely nothing!
- Cameron (5/5): Place has potential. Was good for a couple of days. - Pool area was well maintained , Well stocked honesty bar, Staff were friendly _ a good plus point Rooms need maintenance. you can see that furniture in the room needs to be repainted / cleaned. Property is situated with 17 other lodges on the same property. Its very dense tourism.
- Chrisna (10/5): Exceptional - We thoroughly enjoyed our mini bush break at Panzi Lodge.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by smiling faces and staff going above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and enjoying their time, whether you went on one of the many adventures in the area or chose to relax by the pool.
The personnel were always ready to assist with arrangements and dispensing valuable advice and recommendations about the area and having a friendly chat at dinnertime.
Our room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Sipping your morning coffee while monkeys, bushpigs and zebras graze around your chalet really revives your soul!
The outside showers and privacy of each individual chalet were amazing additions to relax and restore.
We hope to visit again very soon!
- Naiker (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was great. It was very relaxing at the lodge. I love the outdoor shower Dinner menu
- Melissa (6/5): The activists was awesome - Friendly staff That there wasn’t a food option menu
The rooms doesn’t get cleaned no clean towels sheets dirty floors
- Thato (5/5): A quiet and relaxing place - That they are able to book for activities outside the lodge which is very convenient. The staff were friendly. The food was not good, in-fact horrible. No variety at all.
- Desideria (10/5): A BIG thank you to Charmaine and Irene for an amazing stay ❤️. Can't wait to return. Best place eve - The food was excellent and the location amazing. Everything was just perfect 🥰
- Tanzwani (6/5): very good location however, employees et al need to change their attitude and respect guest - Breakfast was poor and dry, location is good Towels and room not cleaned in time with no one taking responsibility, we almost had to clean for ourself and staff was giving us broom etc after we indicated that our room wasn't cleaned so we can clean for ourself, imagine.
- Collette (10/5): Exceptional - Staff couldn't do enough to help. We loved our stay.
- Amos (9/5): Best escape retreat in nature - The breakfast and dinner was out of this world. Those ladies are working magic in the kitchen.
Plus they keep breakfast to your preferred wake-up time. Walking from parking with bags to the unit. They must look into having push trolleys at least.
- Genya (9/5): Great stay! - The staff working there is so lovely!!!!!
The room was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and the location in the reserve is great!
Dinner and breakfast were also very good! Good distance to make the Panorama road, and the Kruger Park as well. For small cars, the road to get to the accommodation can be tricky and pretty long (need to drive slow to avoid getting a flat tire).
- Mabuza (7/5): Good -
- Sezi (8/5): I would come back again - Our stay was great, the lodge is very nicely planned. The fact that there are only 10 rooms makes the experience much better and cosy. The staff is super friendly, kind and helpful. They take the time to talk to everyone, inform diligently on everyone’s individual plans. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The location is very good, you can get to many activities easily. Since it is in a reserve the drive to get to the hotel is a bit bumpy but its all part of the experience and it’s not too bothersome.
- Hlatsi25 (10/5): the staff was friendly and the lodge it's clean , it's a place I can definitely visit again, - well I likeed almost everything about the lodge none
- Ivan1489 (10/5): A remarkable experience, perfect place to stay for game drives. - We stayed 4 nights at Panzi Lodge and it was a remarkable experience. Our wooden chalet was really nice and comfortable. Each morning we could see some small animals roaming around and at the viewing deck we could sometimes see buffalos, zebras and giraffes.
The staff was very friendly and made our stay at the lodge feel like a dream. Delicious breakfast and dinner was served everyday.
The game drives we did with the lodge were amazing.
We are very thankful to Irene and Charmaine who made everything perfect for our stay.
- Nokwethaba (9/5): Superb -
- Siddik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clint (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriella (9/5): Superb -
- Natasah (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing not to like
- Carron (7/5): It’s good family place - The staff and place The food
- Annika (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing facilities, staff and the dinner and breakfast was exceptional.
- Amy (8/5): Good location, friendly staff, and bestest dog ever! - Charmaine was incredibly helpful with all requests and always asked about how our day in the Kruger went! She asked about onward travel and gave recommendations for those locations - and places to avoid!
The food was lovely and we loved the honesty bar idea!
Leah the Spaniel was probably our favourite part of staying at Panzi Lodge. She was so well behaved - and with both of us working in the veterinary industry, we couldn't get over how healthy she looked! We miss you Leah! The rooms were very private, but this meant quite a walk to the reception area/where we ate. We found the bed very hard, while it is difficult to cater for everyone's mattress preference - we like a firm mattress, but this was too firm for us! Luckily, we were so tired from the excitement of animal spotting in the Kruger that we still fell asleep before too much time had passed
- Wihan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anton (9/5): Superb - Magic atmosphere in the lodge. Very tasty wine and good dinner (not expecting something amazing - but delicious enough). Cozy lodge, that we like so much Some smell in the room. May be newly painted something inside. Minor thing didn’t make our accommodation negative
- Simon (10/5): A perfect stay - I l9ved the peacefulness of the place, the privacy of the chalets & the enchanting Irene, the manager & all her staff. It is a very personal & comfortable experience as there is a central dining room for all the guests so that you get to know each other. A very special place.
- Tammy (10/5): Fantastic. - The food for breakfast and supper were amazing. They have set 3 course meals for dinner and a standard egg, toast, bacon, sausages, fruit and cereal for breakfast.
The entire lodge is fairly small, so it makes the places really comfortable. The viewing deck was nice and big. The aircon in the rooms was a big win for my wife and myself.
The activities were the best part. Some might find the activities pricey but if you're willing to do a lot, do it! The activities will form great experiences with family and loved ones and you'll have great memories.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. Very kind, caring and the customer service was really taken at a high regard. We felt like very special guests.
Overall I think the lodge is only going to get better and more wonderful as I've heard that the owner is taking the initiative to keep the lodge well maintained and dazzling.
We loved our stay at Panzi Lodge. Everything was really nice. No real big inconveniences.
The staff will do anything they can to solve problems as soon as possible if they arise.
- Karin (8/5): We had a very relaxing time, with opportunity to see lots of animals and a quick trip to Kruger. - Food excellent. Accommodation excellent. People very friendly. Camp fire excellent. Game viewing from viewpoint excellent. I believe game drives on the farm should be part of the total package and not an additional cost.
- Gabriel (10/5): Perfect - Great location and amazing staff made my experience even better. They did all the efforts to ensure that my trip would be great – even a surprise bday cake. I hope to come back
- Nkateko (7/5): Serene environment and great people. - The staff were very helpful and kind. The food was great. It was so serene and peaceful. AC was functional. Water was hot 24/7. Perfect place for relaxing. WiFi was so efficient 10/10. The roads leading up to the property were terrible. The shower was not clean. The “cleaning” of the room itself was not thorough. Towels were not replaced.
- Ankur (9/5): Awesome stay. Warm host. - It’s in the woods. You feel yourself with the nature Awesome. Host is very warm. Their game drive is also very good. We saw almost everything including the Lion. Highly recommended property
- Beauty (10/5): I would go again and again - I liked the room, outside shower, the bar and the scenery. Nothing
- Edith (3/5): It’s too overpriced for a place that feels like a boarding hostel and they have an amateur approach to hospitality. - The chalets are spread out Firstly booking.com makes it impossible to change, and especially cancel a booking. Why we keep using them, I'm not sure.
Panzi Lodge itself is well situated an easy 30 minutes from the Kruger National Park. Also nearby to the Panorama Route.
However, the room we had was dirty and grimy. The furniture needs a new coat of paint at very least. The tub chair with faded pullover covers had a broken leg. The bedside lampshades were loose and ready to fall off. The loose, stained headboard banged on the wall when rolling over in your sleep. Very basic, simple and outdated decor.
The indoor shower should be demolished. The tikes were mouldy and dirty, the shower head hasn't been cleaned in a long time. At least we had floor tiles - our second room for our daughter had no tiles, only a polished concrete floor which led to her slipping when wet. The basin tap trickled water out so slowly, and was never repaired after two requests. The stinking plumbing was eventually masked by another chemical, but returned after 2 days. The toilet was very small and we were not able to flush it until after two attempts at repairs. Even then, it then ran the entire night. The outdoor shower was poor and overlooked by a neighbouring unit.
The wooden walkways to the rooms were slippery when wet, but with no warnings, causing a minor sprained ankle for us. However, the unguarded bridge railing (not to safety regulations and standards) could result in a serious fall to the river bed below. DEFINITELY NOT SAFE AT ALL FOR SMALL KIDS., nevermind adults. The staff even admitted to slipping on the same walkways, but offered no particular help to me who sprained my ankle.
The boarding-house style dining area was mostly self service. The admin staff were pleasant but did not seem to manage staff, cleaning, cooking, etc very well. The reception/office desk was part of the open dining area, so phone calls, staff disputes, etc were all handled in front of guests.
- Daniella (9/5): Superb -
- Msithazwe (9/5): It was camping for people who don't like camping. A very enjoyable experience! - The food was quite good, very accurate to the local food. The manager of the lodge was very sweet and helpful with regard to recommendations on where to eat as well as activities we should try. The lodge is quite removed from any major cities so there is no noise, and seeing the animals up close was amazing, highly recommend it. The roads are not paved and we didn't know this before booking so it was difficult anytime we wanted to come or go.
- Lebo (8/5): Very good - The rooms were beautiful and intimate, a true reflection of what is advertised. The shower water was cold, I assume it was loadshedding. It would be nice if they changed the mosquito cloth around the bed. It was torn.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - It is a beautiful place and so friendly people. It is in the middle of a smaller national park and a pumpy road get you to this adventurous and magical place. You will already experience wild life and it is a good stop before Kruger Park. It is not suitable to go in and out of Kruger Park every day
- Pretty (7/5): Hubby's birthday in tranquility - The location, tranquility of the area, the hospitality from Irene and the staff, and the food was great 👍 The gravel road
- Khomotso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kholofelo (8/5): The staff is amazing, they are attentive and friendly. Food is also tasty BUT their portions are extremely small. We had - It’s beautiful. The views and greenery is stunning. Lots of animals rooming around The shower handles had whitish looking rust covering.😫
- Geoff (8/5): Fantastic hospitality and the food was great. - Interaction with the friendly staff and accommodation being nestled amongst the trees.
Irene and Charmaine were also excellent hosts and made sure we were well looked after . Inconsiderate (noisy) guests on our first day but the lodge management attended to this very promptly and in a professional manner.
- Nyarieeee (9/5): Amazing! - The breakfast was amazing and the dinner was also amazing. We loved the rooms and the views of the bush from the rooms. We saw giraffes, buffalos and many other wild animals around the property. What a beautiful experience! Nothing
- Nhlamulo (8/5): Very good - The place is homely, with few touchups, it can be excellent. The road leading to the place is gravel and not well maintained, Parking arrangements. Our room was not clean to the core, we found a sock under the bed. Towels not changed.
- Solani (8/5): Beautiful location, away from the business of the city. They need to invest on a professional chef to ensure that guests - The property was like a rain forest. I loved being surrounded by trees. It felt like I was somewhere in Bali.
The staff were super friendly and made our stay comfortable. It was raining when we checked in, so the gravel road leading to the lodge was wet, slippery and it was a mission to get to the lodge.
The booking came with breakfast and dinner & the dinner on the second night was horrendous. They need to hire a professional chef to do their cooking. We only ate because shops and other restaurants were too far and the road was not in the best condition for us to drive at night.
- Alexander (10/5): Wonderful bush experience - Beautiful scenery and great facilities N/A
- Vernon (9/5): Superb - Beautiful lodge in such a peaceful and quiet area....Love how much space within the lodge there is....Charmaine and irene are really awesome people and good hosts....I love their dog aswell😁
- Raoul (9/5): Superb -
- Khumalo (8/5): Very good -
- Simangele (10/5): This was our very first experience as a family to be out in the wild, the staff was friendly and welcomed us very well. - Absolutely breath taking, the rooms were all beautifully set up. There’s WiFi which works perfectly and the property is clean. Loved absolutely everything about it, there’s nothing that I didn’t like.
- Anonymous (7/5): Nice and cozy - Rooms were cozy, staff was great and attentive It was quite far and the roads were bad
- Keamogetsoe (9/5): Superb -
- Lloyd (9/5): Superb -
