• IRENE (4/5): Disappointing - The buffet breakfast and dinner were alright but not exceptional. The hotel facilities were extremelt old and discrepit. The advertisement on Booking.com had pictures of grilled Ayu. This being a riverside supposedly boutique hotel, I booked it on seeing the Ayu. However, on arrival was politely informed by the staff that Ayu was not available, they can't even order Ayu ala carte as they don't even have an ala carte menu. The "restaurant" was more like a mass hall canteen. Although parking was said to be available, the hotel did not even have a carpark. All guests were asked to park along the side of the road leading to the hotel. In one of the rooms I booked there were dripping wet clothes hanging in a closet. That was absolutely creepy.

• shigeki (8/5): 想像よりもGood、また伺います。 - 事前に読んだ評価はまちまちで特に評価が低くかった点は、私共としてはそれほど感じなかった。却って事前に想像していたものよりはるかに良かった。スタッフは適切に対応していただき、不便は感ぜず、チェックアウト時にお礼を述べたかったが、対応してくれた方々はシフトの関係かその時には会えず、改めてこの欄でお礼を述べたい。寒い日だったがゆっくり入浴出来、しかも丁度良い湯加減で滞在中身体を暖かく過ごせた。次に機会が有ったなら、1ランク狭い部屋でも予約したい。 予定より早く着館した為かチェックイン時に時間を要した。

• Corrie (6/5): We had a great one night stay and the buffet was amazing! The staff were welcoming and although we spoke little Japanese - I loved the tranquility and area surrounding the location. The property itself has its own unique character and suits the aesthetic well. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. They noticed we checked out a day earlier and we were late to breakfast, but allowed us to still serve and eat something which was really nice. The room was very nice, however, a little bit dated. I think the photos online could be more recent to properly depict what is offered. Not much to fault though as it is a beautiful place in a lovely location.

• Aurore (8/5): - Très bonne expérience ! Attention, le personnel parle très peu anglais donc il faut être prêt à faire un effort pour communiquer. Prévoir de prendre le bus ou un taxi pour accéder à l’hôtel si vous n’avez pas de voiture. Légère odeur d’humidité dans la chambre, normale puisque l’hôtel surplombe une rivière. Le personnel fait au mieux pour limiter cela.

• Terence (1/5): Dissatisfied - Onsen on the river is beautiful We booked a room with 3 futon beds for 2 adults and 1 child. But they only gave us 2 futons, I asked for a third but the staff refused, they said it's only a 2 person room and the child doesn't count. Even tho I showed them my booking where it says 3 futons. Everything is very old and falling apart, especially the bedding, looks like it hasn't been changed for 30yrs. Floor boards around the onsen area are rotting away and not secure, so be careful if you go with a child.

• Jimmie (8/5): Perfect Location! - The location is awesome! Being in the 🛁 bath tub of the private onsen room, with the sound of the waterfall soothing me, with the backdrop of the beginning of the Fall season colored leaves, was awesome!
• Suek (8/5): Great staycation but had to withstand the mouldy smell - Location is in the heart of Izu, the place well known for onsen. So I guess it’s acceptable to be slightly rural. Great facilities - private onsen in room, free cute Yukata provided. The food is wonderful, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Great views, right beside the river. However, it’s really unable to ignore the mouldy smell even after hours in the room. I guess it’s unavoidable for ryokan mainly with wood materials and nearby the river… If u are not a person that sensitive to smell, the scenery, food, facilities are definitely good.

• Dionv (6/5): A nice hotel for a short weekend stay or stop during a roadtrip. - The personal onsen on the terrace was super enjoyable, though the view was blocked by the wooden railing, which took away the magical view while enjoying the onsen. If you like being surrounded by nature but still crave the comfort of a room and bed, then this place will definitely itch that scratch for you. As is often the case with hotels like this, the building and rooms feel a bit dated. We stayed during a discount season price, which definitely made it worth the stay, but I don't think I would feel the same way if I had to pay the usual full price. Also as noted, I don't really understand why with the amazing view available, it is hidden away behind a thick wooden railing when you are using your own private onsen, unlike the pictures which are showing off the amazing view, but this is only the case when you use the shared/public onsen.

Very old building with no renovation and annoying music playing in your room until 10pm that you can't turn off!

Boring traditional music plays on the speaker in the room, it does not turn off until 10 pm. The hotel restaurant is hot, the air conditioning in the hotel is set to the maximum temperature. The restaurant menu hasn’t changed within last 5 months since we stayed there last time.
