• Eva (9/5): Wonderful, comfortable stay! - Clean, comfortable and quiet! Great facilities inside and out! Quiet beach area and just a few steps to Jungle Fish restaurant. An easy 15min walk along the beach to town. Loved our stay! Couldn’t find anything!

• Jens Simon (9/5): Schöne abgelegene Anlage - Wir waren im April dort, es war sehr ruhig und schön gelegen. Mit einem Auto kommt man gut nach Tulum / playa del carmen. Zu Fuß oder mit dem Auto gut nach Akumal. Die Zimmer waren gut ausgestattet, sodass man sich gut selbst versorgen konnte. Leider hatten wir viele Braunalgen, es wurde sich mit Schubkarren bemüht diese zu entfernen. Dies hat aber nicht geklappt. Somit waren wir hauptsächlich im Pool. Das Hotel ist leicht abgelegen, dadurch sehr ruhig aber ein Auto ist empfehlenswert.
• Adriana (9/5): Escapada en familia para desestresasrse - La vista de la habitacion al mar. La piscina excelente. La comodidad de la habitacion que nos tocó con colores neutros que dan tranquilidad. Tienes todo lo basico para cocina y hacer cafe. El personal es muy amable. El restaurante tene un horario limitado pero los precios son accesibles. Lo unico que nos disgustó un poquito es que había un grupo grande y acaparaban todos los camastros y sillas en la piscina y el humo del asador entraba a nuestra habitacion. Pero ese no es problema del hotel si no de la gente.

• David (3/5): Our stay was spoiled by the sight and awful smell of the sargassum seaweed. - Beach side location and pool area The huge amounts of sargassum seaweed and the location of the room ( room 4) The restaurant was expensive for the low quality food options. Very basic chairs and tables for such a nice location.
• Danya (10/5): - Las Villas Akumal was a wonderful place for a vacation myself and my 9 year old son. The location is ideal - just outside the center of the village and right on the beachfront, and the property and beach area was exceptionally well-cared for. The staff were very attentive and kept the pool, beach, and common areas spotless, as well as our individual room. There is also a wonderful community among the guests who are there - it is family-friendly and we made friends with several families that overlapped with our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Riviera Maya - whether you are a solo traveler, a couple, a group of friends, or a family, it has rooms to suit all.
• Sylke (8/5): Goede prijs-kwaliteit voor Akumal - Leuke kamers, goede bedden. De zwembaden zijn ook leuk en het water is aangenaam van temperatuur (niet te koud). We hebben via hun ook een snorkeltoer geregeld wat handig was. Ik vond dat er wat een chemische geur van kuisproducten in onze kamer hing, beetje te overheersend.
• Andrea (10/5): Perfect beach vacation - The room was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. The bed was comfortable. Free parking was included. There was a possibility to eat in the hotel's restaurant all day long. The pool was excellent, and there was direct access to the beach. However, there were big rocks that made it difficult to enter the sea. The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, which makes it perfect for relaxing. They also offer laundry service and massage for additional costs.

Taxi naar het centrum belachelijk duur - Slechts één restaurant op loopafstand.. Geen andere voorzieningen in de buurt.

The condo had everything we needed for our stay and the veranda was huge, like another room. the views were amazing. It would have been useful to have had a menu for the restaurant and bar inside the room but I found one at the bar so this wasn't really a problem.

Everyone is on top of each other so there’s no privacy or peace. My neighbors essentially shared a porch with me and were up early - 5:30am - every morning and stayed out on the porch working and entertaining loudly most of the day. The bedroom over looking the ocean was the room that could not escape the noise.

Abseits des Trubels von Playa del Carmen oder Tulum, aber Orte sind jew. schnell erreichbar. Sehr gute Restaurants innerhalb 5min erreichbar. Unterkunft leider sehr teuer.

• Jürgen (6/5): Enttäuschender Aufenthalt in einer an sich schönen Anlage - Die Anlage liegt direkt am Meer und hat einen schönen Garten Unser Apartment war im Souterrain, die Fenster ließen sich nicht öffnen und die Küchenausstattung war sehr minimalistisch. Der Preis war völlig überzogen für das Angebot. Aus den Bilder bei booking war es nicht ersichtlich, dass sich die Räume ohne Meerblick eigentlich im Keller befinden. Ein Upgrade hätte pro Nacht noch einmal 150 Dollar gekostet. Wir wollten im Restaurant etwas essen, aber die meisten Gerichte der Speisekarte gab es nicht.

There was lots of saragassum algae at this time and even though the hotel has cleaners twice a day, it’s just a lot of algae so we didn’t swim in the sea but the pool was great. If there hadn’t been algae it would have been paradise. The staff primarily speak Spanish.
• James (10/5): Beautiful property, excellent staff, can’t wait to return. - Enjoyed the location, being able to walk to Akumal on the beach but far enough away to be nice and quiet. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and accommodating. Property was very clean and well kept. Christian and all reception staff were very helpful in arranging massages, golf, taxis, etc. Cleaning and maintenance staff very friendly and work hard. Great property if you don’t mind cooking some simple meals, restaurant available upstairs and next door, with more available in Akumal. Great beach and pool. Kitchen could have used a few more items but all of the basics were there. Comforter on bed was a bit worn but totally usable.

• Elvira Akhatova (10/5): - Отдыхали в Las Villas Akumal. В целом впечатления положительные. Отель находится в тихом, уединённом месте — идеально для спокойного отдыха без шума и толп туристов. Территория зелёная, ухоженная, атмосфера очень расслабляющая. Номер был просторный и чистый, с оборудованной кухней, что оказалось очень удобно. У нас был номер без террасы, но внутри достаточно комфортно, уборка регулярная, всё аккуратно. Персонал вежливый и доброжелательный. Из минусов — во время нашего отдыха вода в море цвела, поэтому купание было не самым приятным. Это природное явление, к самому отелю претензий нет. В остальном всё хорошо. Подойдёт тем, кто ищет спокойствие, тишину и красивую природу.

• Allison (10/5): Las Villas Akumal provided an exceptionally comfortable jumping off point for snorkeling, beach time, and a trip to Xcar - Our studio was spotlessly clean and very comfortable for a three night stay at the end of a two week trip to the Yucatán Peninsula. We enjoyed walking on the beach and swimming at Playa Akumal a bit north of Las Villas Akumal. The small touches at the Villas made the stay exceptional: the shower and foot washes down by the pool, the provided beach towels, the poolside bar, the onsite restaurant, and the daily housekeeping. The staff were very friendly and communicative. The pools and beach were beautiful. The whole property was clean and well cared for. Driving into the town of Akumal was surprisingly difficult given the design of Highway 307 separating the Villas from town. Walking looked impossible ir circuitous. This isn’t the property’s fault. Just something to be aware of. We were glad for the onsite restaurant and the Jungle Fish Beach Club restaurant nearby.

El jardín es muy bonito, con una linda piscina y salida a la playa. Dentro del complejo hay un restaurante de mariscos muy sabroso. La playa no es muy disfrutable ya que hay rocas a esa altura. Igualmente se puede descansar y disfrutar del mar en la arena o en la piscina. Los departamentos si bien son muy amplios y completos se beneficiarían de una remodelación. El precio es algo elevado por no poder acceder al mar

If you're looking for something more classy and private than resorts on Riviera Maya, that's your place. We really enjoyed our stay - the bed was super comfy, the apartment very spacious with all facilities you would need. Super clean rooms & property overall, helpful and friendy staff.

Het restaurant heeft een prachige locatie maar erg basic en prijzig. Wij hadden gedacht er savonds nog een drankje te kunnen doen. Helaas is het tor 2.30 open

• Hansen (10/5): Great value for a beachfront hotel, peaceful and quiet escape from the noise and activity of other resorts. - Peaceful and quiet facility. No nonsense you don’t need, just the basics, a pool, breakfast and lunch cafe and a beautiful view. No background music anywhere on the facility just the sound of the ocean. The beach they have has good snorkeling if you take the hotel kayak out a 100yards or so. Also the beach is home to several turtle nests and you can see the mother lay eggs or see the hatchlings if you time the trip right. We were lucky enough to see hatchlings in late November. The beach is rocky, need to drive to get to a good sandy beach you can walk out into, like xpu ha beach. Had some noise transfer from cafe above us every morning. Getting dry towels was a bit of a chore as the staff were very reluctant to change out beach towels. The entrance road is not glamorous so don’t be scared driving down the road from the highway.

• Matthias (10/5): - Aufmerksames, freundliches und hilfbereites Team an der Rezeption. Touren mit Abholung von Akumal sind schwierig über Plattformen zu buchen. Die Rezeption konnte uns dabei helfen und wir hatten einen schönen Ausflug nach Coba/ Tulum und einen Cenoten. Die Ausstattung entspricht den Fotos auf booking. Der Strand war sehr gepflegt. Der Wellengang war ruhig im November und wir hatten Temperaturen um die 30 grad.

Wij hadden een standaard kamer die echt heel goed was met een ruime badkamer en een heerlijke zithoek en prima keuken. En er was zelfs een fitness ruimte met loopband en fiets, de naastgelegen ruimte was ingericht voor yoga.

This would be a wonderful location if not for the sargassum which ruined the trip The sargassum was out of control. The villa do not have the resources to manage the sargassum like a larger hotel so it is left rotting with a horrible stench. I could not sleep at night due to the smell. We could not go outside due to the smell. There is NO ONE staying there because you cannot use the beach and the smell is just foul. So the only people staying there seemed to be us and two men who insisted on yelping and signing continuously for 2 hours from 5 am. The villa social media feels like a lie. They show white beaches with no sargassum and show it as a family location but they didn't give these two men the boot, only told us that the men offered to pay for our breakfast to apologize. We declined and suggested they give that to the staff who were also inconvenienced by them. We left a day early. We didn't ask for any refund nor was it offered when we told them we were leaving due to noise and smell. Their entire approach seemed to embody the shoulder shrug emoji. I would not recommend.
• Paulien (8/5): Dure accomodatie - Mooi en ruim appartement met twee nette badkamers. Fijn zwembad. Even verderop (50 meter?) zit een goed visrestaurant. Weinig tot geen schaduw in het zwembad. De prijs is heel hoog ten opzichte van wat je ervoor krijgt. Door zeewier konden wij helaas niet de zee in.

• Maarten (4/5): Prachtige villa’s maar voldoet echt niet aan omschrijving - Prachtige villa’s met een mooi aangelegde tuin. Ruime kamers, heel netjes, compleet en strak. Perfect! Helaas was er erg veel zeewier (sargassum) toen wij er waren. Water was modderkleurig en stonk enorm. Dat maakte zwemmen in de zee onmogelijk. Bekend probleem van deze hele kust. Wisselend per dag en seizoen. Begreep dat als je wel kan zwemmen dit op rotsige bodem is, er werden ons de dag voor aankomst nog schoentjes aangeraden. Was eerlijker geweest om te zeggen dat zwemmen onmogelijk was door het wier. Het restaurant voor ontbijt en lunch was geen restaurant maar een kantine. Geen sfeer en ook geen poging tot sfeer, ondanks de prachtige ligging op de villa’s onder een palmtakken dak met uitzicht op de diepblauwe zee. Het was leeg, een paar halve tafels met wat losse stoelen. Lijkt meer een restaurant voor het stempeltje op de verhuur locatie.

• Chiara (8/5): Nice but could be better - Nice quiet location The private beach was full of sargassus and the sea too waivy. Some other resorts closer to akumal village are protected from the sea flow as they are in a bay, there is easier to swim. Our standard room was supposed to be on ground floor but in fact it is below street level. Therefore no fresh air and a bit humid.

• Sybrandt (9/5): We had a good time and went snorkeling with the turtles. It is some distance from the main beach. - The rooms were great with a small kitchen to make basic food. The bed was amazing and our room was serviced everyday which was great being on vacation. The upkeep of this place was great. Nice and quiet with less crowds. You can not swim in the sea in front of the hotel due to watergrass and rocks. You have to walk some distance to swim in the sea. Parking at the main beach is difficult and expensive. We walked to our excursions which takes about 20min along the beach to the main town of Akumal.
• Bridget (10/5): We would love to return. - We ate up the road at a wonderful place on the beach, easily within walking distance. The layout of the patio to the pool to the beach was perfect. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had.
• Roland (5/5): Passable - Nice swimmingpool, excellent beds, very clean property. Sargassum 3 feet high, they don't clean the beach. Property is far away from restaurants. Mexican families rent the place massivly, therefore it's crowded with Kids, which off course comes with a lot of shouting.
• Beatrix (9/5): A very relaxing stay in the busy area of the Rivera Maya. - We enjoyed the quietness of the area and the comfortable apartment with the wonderful view from the terrace. It was the relaxing part of our trip we were hoping to get after 2 weeks of busy sight seeing across Mexico. the Sargasso has reached the beach. The hotel tried to clear as much as possible, but with the waves and wind a never-ending process. It didn't bother me too much as was able to walk along the beach and for swimming I used the pool.
