- Diane (8/5): Fantastic, easy entrance, parking available at the door. Beautiful property. - The location was great. We didn't need to walk to any wineries as we booked a wine tour. The Villa was fantastic. We asked for all the beds to be made into king singles as we were a group of 9 ladies. And they were. Not a problem. Plenty of bath towels and pillows. Beds were comfortable and clean. The cottage were our three younger relatives stayed was fantastic as well. Beds made into King singles. We would definitely stay here again. Two of the bathrooms were ensuites, so through someone's bedroom. But wasn't really an issue. Maybe could have had another seperate toilet with a villa that potentially could have 12-14 people staying in it. We could not find a can opener, but the kitchen was well stocked and equiped with plenty of glasses etc. Pool was wonderful. Although alot of wasp nests around under the back veranda. (we were in the middle of the bush though).

The cottage needs some refresh, the living room needs to be refurbished, as well as the furnitures outside. It's not clean and not pleasant to sit out there. Please improve the garden setting, put more plants, flowers to make it more inviting. We came in with high expectation as per what is reflected in the website, but unfortunately looks like it's the only property which is left out of any improvements among the rest.

The outlook is beautiful as you sit and look over the property. Some of the decor needs to be updated like the wicker furniture needs to be replaced, the roll away bed is not stable, the dried flowers need to be thrown away and the garden around the cottage needs to be trimmed and tidied up.

- Maria (10/5): Stunning property in convenient location - Jo is an excellent host and owner. We booked a 2 bedroom Levander Cottage and had incredible time. It’s clean, has a kitchen and bbq, big lounge and comfortable beds. I wish there was an aircon in bedrooms. At the moment only in the living room, and fans in bedrooms.
- Mark Brandon (5/5): Charming but dated, small room, poor sleep, limited reception support. - Thistle Hill Guesthouse is charming, but our stay was mixed. The property itself is a bit dated, and the room was on the smaller side with a lot of windows but the curtains need to be kept close for privacy, making the room dark. Unfortunately, there was a mosquito in our room that kept us awake until around 1 a.m., which was frustrating. We also found that reception wasn’t consistently monitored, making it difficult to get assistance when needed. With a bit more attention to maintenance and guest support, the experience could be improved. Overall, it was acceptable for a short stay, but there’s room for improvement.

I would highly recommend anyone wanting to travel to Pokolbin/Broke vineyard put this place on their must stay at bucket list. They are in the business of providing memories of a lifetime that everyone will fondly remember at the end of our time whether it’s sooner or hopefully very later. - Charlotte (8/5): Great place for a large family to celebrate a significant occasion. - Excellent space for a large group. Every room was spacious , comfortable and had an ensuite. The kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cutlery, more than enough for 20 people. Two dishwashers also meant we could keep on top of the dirty dishes. There were also enough tables and chairs so we could all sit down and eat together. The oven didn’t work well but better communication from us with the host would have solved this issue. Jo would have provided a portable catering oven if she knew we were struggling. You need to bring your own speakers for playing music.

The outlook over vineyards and acres was a romantic feel. The bedrooms at either end of the cottage provided a sanctuary of privacy for our trip as couples. The complimentary extras in the cottage were noted and well utilised. We loved our stay. Highly recommended find.

- Bee (8/5): Great group getaway - We booked out all 8 rooms for a group new years getaway, it was great to all have our own private rooms and able to enjoy the pool to just for our group. Kids loved the space to run about. Would have been great if there was a bathroom next to the pools.

- Éamonn (9/5): Prime Hunter Valley location with kangaroos roaming close by! - Prime location for wine tours. Well situated cottage with stunning views. Little extras like the marshmallows in the fire pit were greatly appreciated. Comfy beds, good BBQ and just an all-round welcoming environment.

- Louise (10/5): Excellent - We enjoyed our stay. We did think we had use of the pool as it was a bit misleading when we booked the cottage, however we didn't actually need to use it.

- Soutsakone (9/5): Superb - We hosted a large family at the property for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the children absolutely loved the swimming pool and game room. A delightful surprise for our family visiting from the US was spotting kangaroos on the property. I would highly recommend this place and will most likely return in the future. The owner was very accommodating—when we mentioned a few missing items, she personally came to the property to address the concerns and ensured everything was taken care of. Many thanks Jo!!
- Imogen (10/5): Not one complaint - all 30 of our guests had a brilliant time. - Spacious, comfortable, well equipped. Perfect for a group of 30 to spread out and not be on top of each other. We loved the pool area and pool house. Lovely natural surrounds and sunset view from the property. We had a lovely time and would love to go back one day. The main fridge didn’t seem to be cooling our food and drinks for the first day but came good after the second day. Other than that, nothing at all!
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money, dog friendly, Netflix, pool. Say hi to the gardeners dog Bob. The staff are very friendly and if you wake up early you will see hot air balloons and kangaroos. Love this place.

- Alice (6/5): Pleasant - Easy check in. Comfortable. Lovely pool area, quiet location. Walls are very thin- could here other guest snoring and being ‘active’
- Elizabeth (5/5): It was a very average sta, I would not be recommending it or saying it was bad, just average - It was quiet and private The room facilities were very limited as there was no kitchen or other food services available on site. Either there needs to be food available or better inroom facilites There was only very limited tea and coffee, I think some glasses but not even a plate or cutlery for anything else. No microwave etc. This would have been ok if we could have walked to food, but we couldn't even warm anything we brought back
- Trevor (9/5): Superb - Quiet location close to plenty of wineries and restaurants If I am being picky no check out time listed there was supposed to be insect repellent and their email asked if we wanted double bed and there were two singles but they did offer to move us. The mattresses were a bit springy but comfortable enough. It was not an issue overall we give 9 out of 10 for our stay. We were very happy and the complimentary wine was a nice touch.

- Norma (9/5): An oasis where you’ll instantly relax. - The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Great little spots to rest and relax. Room is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Within easy access to wineries, restaurants and cafes. Jo was very helpful and organised an early check in.

- Campbell (9/5): Excellent family friendly property in fantastic location. - Fantastic property. Excellent for a few families. Very close to some great vineyards.
- Peter (3/5): very disappointed with location, room , lack of kitchen equipment & we did not see or have contact with any staff(ex - room was very clean room very small, fridge too small, no facilities for heating food (micro-wave). We had no staff except cleaning lady who was exceptionally helpful & friendly.
