• William (7/5): We couldn’t fault the staff they were fabulous and ended up making our stay a positive experience. - We were unhappy with our first room as when we booked it said pool access room but we were upstairs, then the only pool was decommissioned so no pool available at all…… however the staff were extremely accommodating and moved us to a room with a private pool. We stayed in this room for 3 nights and then were moved to another room with an even better pool a beautiful big bed and we were extremely happy. Probably mis communication from bookings.com and hotel saying pool access room….. even if we did have a room accessing the pool we were not told that the only pool on the premises was drained and being re tiled.

• Kirsty (6/5): - We never got to stay at the resort because when we got there, the pool was undergoing a major renovation. I was not made aware of this before arriving, and we were disappointed. The staff were very apologetic and were more than happy to refund our booking in full. We looked for alternative accommodation and finally found a place not easy with 5 adults. I was refunded in full within days. We hope to stay at Barong on a return visit. the location is great and from what we saw it looked clean and well looked after.

• Knowlman (9/5): Would recommend and stay again. - Beautiful villa, comfortable and clean. Monkeys came to visit every morning when they heard us up and moving which my son loved! The gardens are beautifully maintained and the staff were all very friendly. Location was perfect. Our villa pool was small and didn’t really get much sun, so was quite cold. A QR code near the main pool would be great so we could order food and drink. Some renovations happening which may bother others, but they had no impact on us other than a bit of dust walking past.

From the first moment how they warmly welcomed us, until the moment of check-out when they gave us small bracelets as symbols of life, everything was amazing. At reception, a very nice young man with good English welcomed us and took all needed information. While they were making copies of our passports, a girl from reception brought us three fresh and very вкусные lychee juices. All our luggage was delivered to the room without any effort from my side. Also, we got a free upgrade and stayed in a room just above the pool. If you want, you can even jump into the pool from the window. The guy at reception was super polite and very positive. Honestly, I felt like in a five-star hotel where I stayed before. The service from the very beginning was on the level of the best hotels in the world. The price is very low for what you get. For this money, you receive five-star service, great attitude, and a very good restaurant. The room was amazing, with a 5-meter ceiling, fresh fruits, daily water, and very clean housekeeping. This is definitely a hotel I want to come back to many times. It is located in the heart of Ubud, everything is in walking distance. No monkeys were seen, except my younger son :) I highly recommend this hotel. I was so impressed by the service that I described everything in detail, so you know what to expect when you arrive.

• Екатерина Угляница (6/5): Только для тех, кто хочет сэкономить и готов жить в отеле 0* - Отличное месторасположение между дворцом и лесом обезьян, выход сразу на улицу с магазинчиками и ресторанами. У меня был номер без питания, но каждый день при уборке номера оставляли в холодильнике тарелку с фруктами - очень приятно :) Еще порадовал большой балкон с лежанкой и столиком - его не было на фото номера, это был приятный сюрприз Размер самого номера и ванной порадовали, очень просторно 1) Чудовищное состояние сантехники и номера - отель ну прям очень уставший((((((( Это не 4*, а даже до 1* не дотягивает - Весь пластик - кондиционер, чайник, лейка душа, даже крышка унитаза - я такого ужаса в жизни не видела: когда-то белый пластик стал насыщенным желто-коричневым, весь в трещинах, пятнах, потеках! - Унитаз как после войны - пятнами и насыщенным оттенком мог бы посоперничать с любым леопардом! - О разномастных стаканах, чашках и другой утвари из совершенно разных наборов, как с помойки собранных, я и не говорю. - Добавьте к этому поломанные плетеные элементы, декор ободранный, двери царапанные... 2) При въезде мне сказали, что первое наполнение мини-бара идет в подарок, но если я захочу его восполнить - уже за деньги. Но при выселении все равно списали деньги 3) Выдали номер на 2м этаже (даже не спросив). Для меня не принципиально, но для людей в возрасте или с детьми это может быть проблемой, тк ступени высокие, узкие и от влажности постоянно скользкие. Но чемодан помогли занести-унести 4) Балкон выходил на бетонную стену на уровне глаз, а чуть выше был просвет между стеной и крышей. При чем стена правее и левее заканчивалась на уровне 1го этажа (оч странно сделали - ни обзора, ни уединенности). Зато за этой стеной располагалась огромная шумная парковка (УЖАС!), где постоянно газовали, кричали и тд 5) при заселении оч грязные зеркала, пришлось 2 раза вызывать уборщицу Очень противоречивые впечатления: с одной стороны хорошее месторасположение, просторный номер и приятный персонал, с другой чудовищное состояние номера. Причем какие-то элементы были прям новые (напольная ванная), но в основном все очень старое. И это можно было бы легко и просто заменить - это не требует особых вложений, но капитально портит впечатление. У меня было ощущение, что вместо 4*, а попала в хорошее помещение, которое почему-то собирали с ближайшей помойки. Это было прям неприятно. А что касается сантехники - еще и боялась заразиться чем-нибудь, опасно для жизни!

• McLean (8/5): Very tranquil hotel with modern amenities - Great private pool and courtyard for our morning coffee. right downtown but really nice and quiet. Easy to walk everywhere in both directions. Lovely staff, really nice atmosphere. And fresh fruit and water every single day! Really enjoyed staying here for 8 days while in Ubud. Monkeys will come to visit! Don’t leave food out! They are sneaky!! No problems. We had some minor issues with a facet but the entire team fixed everything right away.
• Mario (8/5): - Big comfortable rooms, friendly and polite personnal, good location in Ubud, value for money. Garden area didn't have any sort of patio cover. During the sunny day it's too hot and if rain falls everything is wet. Some cover should be installed as there is enough space for it. There was no enough chairs for 4 of us to sit outside. Only 2 chairs outside and none inside. Pool in our unit should be cleaned better.

• Xiaoli Yuan (5/5): Quite disappointing and unpleasant, both the - The location is very good, walking distance to many places. The little pool area looks very peaceful and pretty. Hygiene issues with the villa. The bedsheet was not clean, had obvious stains. The bed mattress has big blood stains as well! The pool of the villa is very dirty , color is green. Despite I requested multiple times they didn’t send anyone to clean. Their answer is that it will take few days to circulate the water. We didn’t swim at all during the stay. Bathroom is not clean in the first two days of staying- strong smell of pee, very disgusting. Despite of the service was quite reactive to come and try, but the cleaning was very superficial. I have to use water to wash it myself because the smell just unbearable. There was a fire nearby (lucky no one was hurt) during the day and the power and water was cut off for about 6-8 hours. No breakfast was available and when asked about it, the answer was just we don’t know (impatiently) . It was a hot day and we cannot even go to bathroom. Eventually we had to goto another resort nearby to pay for the day and wait out. Understood the situation is beyond resort’s control, but The disappointment was there was no communication(verbally or through a printed letter) about it afterwards at all.
• Merry (8/5): - Nice luxurious room in Ubud center. Large comfortable bed. Shampoo and body wash smells nice. Smoke smelled room for the 1st night and had to change room. There were animal noises from the roof at 3 am and had to sleep to other room. Breakfast could be improved.

We stayed in a villa and it was amazing—having a private pool to relax in after a long day was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The only small issue was that there were gaps around the doors, which allowed insects to come inside. It would be better if these could be sealed properly.

• Olivier (4/5): Décevant - L’emplacement, le lit d’appoint pour bébé. Un mois avant notre arrivée, j’avais précisé que nous venions avec un bébé d’un an et que nous recherchions du calme. En lisant les commentaires, j’ai vu qu’il y avait des travaux. L’hôtel m’a assuré qu’ils seraient terminés, mais quelques jours avant notre départ, on m’a finalement confirmé qu’ils étaient toujours en cours, c’était déjà trop tard pour annulé et trouvé un hôtel de dernière minute. À notre arrivée, on nous a attribué une chambre collée aux travaux : sombre, peu propre, et donnant directement sur les ouvriers. Après avoir demandé à changer, nous avons été déplacés dans une autre chambre, un peu mieux, mais toujours proche du chantier. Notre fille n’a pas pu faire ses siestes correctement et les rideaux ne ferment pas bien. La climatisation était défaillante dans les deux chambres. Le petit déjeuner, inclus, était répétitif et avec très peu de choix ; au bout de trois jours, nous avons préféré aller à l’extérieur. Difficile également de profiter de la piscine avec les ouvriers constamment présents. Nous étions venus pour nous reposer, mais ce séjour a été très décevant. Aucun geste commercial ne nous a été proposé.

La piscina era in ristrutturazione ma sicuramente è un valore aggiunto. Posizione centralissima e staff super disponibile. Tantissimi ristoranti e negozi intorno. • JERENA (8/5): Fantastic location! - Fantastic location, just 10 mins walk away from monkey forest and 10 mins away from the art market. With plenty of awesome restaurants and cafes a stone throw away. Daily morning visits by the monkey was a treat (but could be a little noisy), family with younger kids would love this sight! Inclusive daily breakfast was lower than mediocre. On going works near the pool area (although covered) is an eye sore. Chlorine levels in the villa and community pool should be checked. Lightings in the room was too dim for our liking too. Could do with better lightings
• Imadelai (10/5): big room, relaxing pool, tasty food - stayed here for three nights. the resort upgraded my room to two bed villa.the room is big, and i love its lovely pool. almost relaxed by the pool during the stay. breakfast tasty, and included in rates. i even had dinner at their restaurant once.food are tasty! location is great, close to many eateries and shops, if you want to walk to the main road, also possible.be noted that, sometime monkey will come to your room. so better keep your food indoor. but monkey is cute, not that aggressive.facilities complete, there is a kitchen, a bathtub in the villa.TV is smart TV, i just watched youtube only.staffs helpful, they don't clean the room unless you ask for it. if you need a quiet place to relax, then Barong resort is highly recommended!

Man ist zu Fuß schnell im Zentrum Durch die Nähe zum Affenwald hat man öfter Besucher die teils nicht ganz so zahm sind… wir hatten einen doch recht aggressiven Affen zu Besuch der auch auf uns losging

• Sylvia (8/5): Great location, great breakfast, constructions noises going most of the time. - The location is very good, super close to monkey forest and with monkey visit every day, which my daughter loved! The breakfast daily has a good variety, and the fruit platter left in the room each day was amazing! The hotel was going thru renovations; the main pool was very noisy with renovations and wasn't than inviting because of this. The hotel is very dark; the pool chairs were really uncomfortable. For the price comparing with other villas not sure if it is worth it. Location is great though. Also the private pool receives very little sun, so the pool is quite cold. Another thing to move the luggage is super hard with very uneven floor surfaces.

Then we got back, hoping for sleep, and the covers were gross and stained. The room wasn't even that clean, with ants near the bath and dirty corners. So glad it was only one night.
• Matt (9/5): We had a wonderful stay, enjoying the superb location, facilities and warm, friendly staff. - Excellent location and amazing, friendly staff. Very comfortable beds, generous room size and bathrooms. The only down side was temporary construction noise due to a new block being built at the resort.
• Britishblue (4/5): Disappointing stay - The location is the best thing about this resort. Situated in the middle of Jalan Monkey Forest, within easy reach to many eateries, shopping and spas. The resort should have highlighted that they were undergoing renovation when I made the booking. It was not a nice experience having to endure knocking and drilling sounds when they start work at 8am in the morning. The renovation is still on-going when we left on 21 June and likely to continue for another few more months, so be warned. There is renovation above the small common pool as well. The 2 bedroom villa which I booked is certainly not suitable for 2 couples. The main bedroom is excessively huge and 3 times bigger than the small bedroom. The small bedroom doesn't even have a wardrobe or anything to hang clothes or towels with no TV. The bathroom was also tiny. The doors also cannot be locked and has a big gap in-between. They gave us only one set of keys to the main villa door when we are 2 couples, so it was very inconvenient for us to move around separately. It was most probably designed for a family with young children in mind. Breakfast was ok, with enough variety if you are staying more than a few days. Housekeeping staff wasn't well trained and didn't do a very good job cleaning and topping up toiletries. My friend actually witnessed the very young housekeeping staff stuffing the pillows into new pillow cases on the floor! Even when we had provided feedback to the Manager, there was no proper service recovery, just apologies. We declined the room makeup service for the rest of our stay. This resort should have the potential to be more due to its location but is very much lacking in hospitality training. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort at this moment due to my experience there, nor will I be back.

• Arnold (1/5): Book somewhere else. - I booked this villa specifically because it advertised a private pool and promised a peaceful, relaxing environment. Unfortunately, our experience was far from that. There was ongoing construction right next to the villa, with loud noise throughout the day — making it impossible to relax. Even worse, the “privacy wall” separating the properties was just a sheet of plastic with holes in it. Several workers frequently looked through those holes into our pool, shower, and sun loungers area. If you’re looking for privacy or tranquility, I would strongly advise against booking this place until the construction is over and proper barriers are in place.
• Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Close proximity to so many things in Ubud The staff were great especially agus The construction work near the main pool. Didn’t really affect us as we had our own pool. There were some leaks in our 2 bedroom villa, didn’t like that there were big gaps around some doors this was more a mosquito worry problem, but in saying that they have mosquito nets over the bed and provide mosquito coils to burn.

• Shirley (7/5): Nice but could to with some TLC - The resort is centrally located, the staff was very friendly . The size of the villa and pool were perfect. We stayed at the back of the resort so it was pretty quiet at night. We loved the monkey visits in the morning. The resort would benefit from some TLC, The indoor unit of the aircontitioner was very loud, so it was nearly impossible to sleep with the aircon on. The towels were pretty old and thin and we had heaps of anrs in our villa. They had workers in the resort and they found it neccesary to look over the wal straight into our rroom and pool, not very pleasant. We found breakfast average but you get what you pay for. Apart for the above we did enjoy our stay.
• Faith (10/5): Perfect location on Monkey Forest road. Made our time in Ubud so worthwhile. - The pool in the villa was so nice to hang out by. The bungalow was a bit dated.
• Amr (10/5): Awesome stay - The hotel is located in central Ubud, very close to monkey forest, ridge campuhan and Ubud palace. There are so many dining options around, and many shops selling everything. The area ia very vibrant, but the villa was very calm. The staff is very welcoming and the breakfast was awesome. Monkeys crossing from the monkey forest make some noise in the early morning. You can see them from the villa, but they are not harmful. The traffic is heavy in the area.

Lush green territory. Complimentary daily fruit plate in the room. Very dimmed lights in the room. Noisy club nearby so it is kinda loud late evening. Pool is rather not appealing at all, expected to fresh up in the daytime but didnt dare.

• Prashant (9/5): Excellent place to stay especially for families - Excellent location closer to all the main attractions and still very calm and quite when within the resort. It’s a huge property with so much open spaces and greenery all around. The 2 bedroom pool villa we booked was very comfortable and spacious with a cute pool and en-suite bath and bath tub. Very good and helpful staff who smiled all along and were ready to assist. Definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family. The breakfast could be a bit better like a buffet with changing options as the one served was a set menu option although what was served was of amazing quality.

• Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - We came here as part of our honeymoon and it's been our favourite hotel that we've ever been too. They had a huge bouquet of flowers in the room to congratulate us on our honeymoon when we arrived which was so thoughtful. We had a very large room number 12, with a big private pool and that was such a treat, we could have spent the whole holiday just at our own pool. The breakfast menu is very generous, there is a lot to pick from and one of us is vegan and they were extremely accommodating. There was mosquito spray and coils for use outside in the room. The staff put freshly cut fruit in the fridge every day and dropped off snacks in the evening and would have the lights in our room turned on for us if we got back when it was dark. A family of monkeys lives beside the hotel so we were treated to a private show on a few occasions which was incredible. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the middle of everything in Ubud and the staff were very kind. We stayed for 6 nights and wished we had booked longer. We hope to come back to stay here in the future. It was not a problem for us but the room we stayed in was a bit of a walk back from the entrance of the hotel, it's actually a lovely walk through beautiful plants and statues so we didn't mind because it was very quiet but there was steep steps before our room so if you have mobility issues it would be better to ask for a room closer to the front. The staff will help you with your luggage though and are extremely impressive how they carry cases on their backs.
