- Bibba (9/5): - The apartment was nice and big and clean Had trouble with the parking spot someone else was parked in our spot maybe they should check if they gave us the right one we parked in the visitors spot
- Reece (1/5): It was horrible - Nothing Everything
- Sonia (8/5): -
- Campbell (7/5): - Convenient to shops and restaurants. The unit was clean and tidy. The property was listed as being in the Abode complex but this is no longer the case which led to initial confusion. The smell from the restaurant downstairs was quite strong. There was no lake view.
- Stephen (9/5): Great - Coffee machine pods not correct for machine
- Alison (8/5): - The location was fantastic. The room was quiet. Additional towels would have been nice as we stayed for one week and only had one towel each.
- Norbert (5/5): Great apartment but poorly thought out upkeep and instructions - Spacious and good location Instructions on how to get keys and then into car park were unclear. Once we made it in to the car park we had to find the car park specifically for the apartment (120) and discovered the car park numbers were non-sequential! After driving round and round the car park we eventually located the right number. Then we faced the problem of how to get to the apartment - the instructions said "take the lift to the apartment". the nearest lift to the car spot didn't accept the key fob and we could see no other lifts so in order to locate the lifts we had to go up the fire stairs and out onto the street, then into the main entrance to the building where we took that lift up to the apartment (it accepted the key fob). Once we had located the apartment we then had to get the lift back down to the car park where we could see where the lifts came out in relation to the car spot (they were well hidden round a corner with no signs!). There was also a car park issue on vacating the property. The checkout instructions stated "leave all keys on the kitchen bench" how
ever you cannot get out of the car park unless you have the keyfob so we had to take everything down to the car park, exit the car park then walk around the building and up to the apartment, leave the keys on the kitchen bench and then back down. Other issues in the stay were no light bulb in bedside light and the coffee issue. When we arrived we expected a coffee pod machine as there were coffee pods laid out with the tea bags but there was no coffee machine. We located a coffee machine in the hall cupboard but it turned out the coffee pods didn't fit!! There was no coffee alternative so that was most upsetting.
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Mark (7/5): - Small issues to improve the experience:
1. Limited supply of consumables such as toilet paper, rubbish bin liners, and coffee pods.
2. Difficulty finding the correct parking bay - a mud map as part of the general instruction would have helped.
Overall, the unit suited out needs very well. It was the little things above that would have made it that little bit better.
- Sue (3/5): Apartment was well located but our stay would have been better with the second set of keys and better internet - The location was excellent We requested a second set of keys which contrary to communication never came.
Internet was intermittent and slow and as I work from home not acceptable.
Photos for directions were old (photo said Adobe hotel)and not helpful at all and lift was hard to find as there were no signs
Was also going to be charged $100 to check out for 1 hour after check out
- Sandra (1/5): Dreadful and communication with property managers resulted in an extra blanket and all other concerns ignored - Not much Comfort, bedding suitable for a prison cell. Towels, suitable for a public hospital and no face washer. Bathroom sink, ring of mould around plug hole. Dishes in kitchen completely out of reach for short person. No extra bin liners and no instructions on where to take full bag of rubbish to dispose.
- Samantha (9/5): - The location was very convenient and it was well equipped for some home cooking. Nothing to dislike, it had what we needed.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Bibba (9/5): Superb - Nice and clean everything i needed close to shopping centre would stay there again The garbage room is a bit of a walk to put your garbage in should have something closer
- Tom (6/5): On balance, our overall experience is 3. We will look to alternatives in future. - There is no on-site presence, no reception desk. Check-in is remotely, you need to open a physical security letterbox to access a security lockbox inside, then to get your room key. The combination lock for the letterbox was already set to the security number - ie anyone should have been able to open the letterbox. But the lock was jammed so it had the semblance of being locked and took considerable effort and cursing to pry it open. After wrestling with the letterbox lock for over 10 minutes, I thought seriously of going to another hotel/apartment down the road. The letterbox was full of correspondence and junk mail, so that the security lockbox - a pad lock shaped box was jammed tightly against the letter box's locking mechanism. One envelope was date stamped some 5 months ago. There were several notices of disconnection to utilities. This property was managed under Abode Greenway – we had stayed here/Abode many times but we did not realised that it had changed management. There was no street signage that I saw that flagged the change. However I will highlight some negative time/energy wasting and minor irritants which I opine are due to the lack of an on-site reception/office presence in Canberra and due to the transition in management. I suggest you read the fine print for the listing and think through the ramifications. Eg the need to time critically verify my identity remotely rather than onsite was a pain (and when Booking.com already is a level of security). To cut a long story short, I had liaised with its employees over several emails and they manually agreed to accept my identity but the automatic system still requested to confirm my identity AFTER we had checked out (else we would lose our booking?!). There is no daily housekeeping. So how far would a small tube of shower gel and a small bar of soap go for more than 1 person over a multi nights stay? That said, there was plenty of toilet paper.
- Con (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kay (8/5): We were in a great location, handy to all amenities. The apartment was cosy, clean and well equipped - The location was great, close to shopping, clubs, doctors. It was hard to get the key from the letterbox
The air conditioner was not working and we froze on a very cold day and night. The heating did finally kick in for the rest of our stay
- Donal (9/5): Was good enough for me , - Location was very good , The bathroom did smell like stagnant water ,
Shower could have been cleaner
Pillows were very poor quality went to buy my own
- Paul (9/5): We often visit Canberra and this location is perfect, we actually joined the local club which is also great value. - It was good value for money and the location was ideal. All was very good no complaint’s
- Pauline (9/5): Very good - Everything The strong odour
