- Ngo (1/5): Disgusting place and unfriendly staff. - Nothing. This place was horrible. The room was absolutely disgusting. There was hair on the pillow sheets, hair in the sink and toilet. Dead bugs in the shower and unspeakable rot in the sink. Staff were not willing to take accountability and refused to refund.
- Juanita (5/5): Vintage but needs more cleaning for the $$ - I really wanted to like this hotel. I’ve driven Route 66 and am used to the quirks of older hotels. Unfortunately this stay was not as charming as hoped, and pretty uncomfortable for the $115 I paid.
What this place got right
- The clerk who checked us in was personable and polite.
- The bedding was clean and white and I saw no bed bugs when I checked. Towels were also white.
- The neon sign and the lobby were cute.
- Location is amazing, scenic and near great places to eat like the 1930’s Halfway Cafe.
- The WiFi seems to work okay.
- Refrigerator, microwave and modern air conditioner were all present, and the TV works.
- Shower had water pressure and the correct temperature.
- I did get my $40 room deposit back the next day (although it did take a few days for it to process through my bank account). In the order of pretty terrible to “meh”
- I got ripped off and was not given the room that I paid for. It was supposed to be the “deluxe queen room” with a larger square footage, but I was told at check-in that only this smaller room was available (room 8).
- Found a filthy Kleenex in the bedside table and opened milk in the fridge.
- For being in a rural location the road was noisy and busy. The fridge also intermittently made strange sounds.
- Room smelled like cigarette smoke.
- Bed was mushy from bad box springs.
- Outlet next to the bed doesn’t work at all.
- Carpet is due to be removed.
- Loud music that sounded like a concert and lasted until midnight and kept us awake. It was from another nearby property and not at the hotel itself. Although this was a very annoying part of our stay, I’m putting this last because it wasn’t something that the hotel had anything to do with.
- Julianne (9/5): We hope to come back every year, it was delightful. - The motel is very homey and quaint. The trees and plants are beautiful. Leslie in the office was very helpful and friendly. We had the best dinner at the wonderful Le Chene restaurant just down the road.
While we love places that are old and have history and character, if you are expecting the sterile cookie-cutter perfection of a major chain, go there. The bed was a little soft, but I slept well.

- Lee (8/5): The best staff in the world, working hard to save a vintage gem. - The team here is amazing, especially Leslie. Their care for the hotel is evident everywhere. The rooms are so clean and tidy, the gardens are very well taken care of and they're very responsive when any issues come up. Leslie is just the sweetest, most hard working person. She made the entire stay. The hotel has a lot of vintage charm too.
The gardens are great to walk around and hang out in. We loved the location for visiting family that lives in Agua Dulce. The hotel clearly wasn't taken care of well prior to the new owners and management team. I'm so proud of the work they've done to improve it already, but they're definitely playing catch up. The hotel deserves to be saved and I truly think this is the team to do it. That said, we've had some significant plumbing issues, which were fixed promptly.
- Preston (9/5): Sierra Pelona Motel was a very good accommodation for its location and room comfort. - Location was convenient to the Town of Agua Dulce. Room was comfortable and amenities were as advertised. Great place to stay if spending time in the Canyon Country area. If possible, it would be good if smoke scent could be eliminated.
- Sandoval (10/5): Love this place - Everything No complaints
- Susan (3/5): Rundown and in need of an overhaul. - The motel was located near my destination but to start the phone number listed on Booking was incorrect. The office bell did not work and it took a while to reach them to check in. They did respond to texts.
The front desk person was kind but rather slow with check-in. The room itself was very uninviting: drafty, ugly, old carpets, loose outlets, tiles missing, bulbs not working etc… it was however clean.
Microwave, but no hot cups.
Not a welcoming or comfortable experience.

- Lisa (6/5): I was looking forward to an old roadside motel, and I thought it would be more than it was. Motel s6 are much nicer. - I didn’t like much about the property. The location was OK, but there wasn’t anything really good about this property. I thought this was going to be a acquaint old roadside motel, but it was actually a dump. There was really nothing nice about it. The room was dark and cold until I turned the heat on and then at least it got warm, but it was still a really crappy room.
- Flores Camarena (9/5): - I’d love to see a beautiful natural forest in the morning vibe Sometimes I'm tripping about loud bangs from the neighbor's door.
- Sandoval (10/5): Love this place! - Everything about this place was amazing! My only upgrade would be better lighting at night. Hard to see when you're driving past in the dark

- Sandoval (10/5): We love this place - Everything! Check in was a breeze, we were greeted warmly, and given the room we requested. Love this location❤️ We enjoyed every moment
- Amee (10/5): - It had a very cute charm to it, not like your typical big hotel!!
- Dan (3/5): Do not stay here. Not kept up and not clean floors. - The bed Everything but the bed
- Samppa (10/5): - A great experience. It is a classic traditional motel, which has been preserved well. The location also makes it very convenient for people visiting LA.
- Dana (10/5): Amazingly comfortable and quiet -
- Mntcell (9/5): Relaxing no worries at all - Whether or not you like this place or I hate it one thing you have to say about it is that no matter what it draws your attention something right out of the dark pages of a Stephen King novel. This is the type of motel that you will find in roadhouse movies or movies like no country for old men the fear and loathing in Las Vegas is a good one that comes to mine. The place is great. The guy who runs it is even better. He’s very accommodating and seems to really care about the place. Unfortunately him and his wife are leaving soon for another adventure. I wish him luck And that all is well. I like this place so much. I even stated another two days as my business was not complete and just one day once again, Troy was very kind and gave and even gave me the same rate as the first day rug cable TV movies all night if you want And a heater that works and works very well when I come back to to Santa Grito I’ll be staying there again. I hope the next guy is just as good. Perfect to me

- Dorothy (10/5): - If you prefer to be more secluded and away from the hubbub of hotels, fast food joints, and highways, this is the place to go. Not to mention a bit of nostalgia for good old fashioned motel property. The manager was quite kind, friendly, and accommodating. Nothing
- steven (9/5): Great getaway close to an excellent French restraint - Took you back to the 1960 Nothing
- Jim (10/5): Beautiful in the Pelona Mountains - The manager, Troy, was top notch. He really cares for his patrons. The property is right out of the 60s, and is a former and current movie set.
- Mark (10/5): Troy was great, checked us in, really nice guy to chat to, super helpful and funny. Both Troy and his wife are lovely an - Motel has great character with a 50 60’s feel!
- Jim (8/5): Good place for PCT Hikers - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was good for hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and it was quiet.

- Zoltan (10/5): best for movie scenes! - Troy for deadman #9! The show “lucky” must puck him for that role!
The motel is a capsule of time of the 50's 60's. You will be in a movie set.
Troy is a supernice host.
Morning coffee was a nice treat. i wish we could stayed more in this place.
i would not touch the structure and the furnitures. They are as good as they are. Modernizing would kill the atmosphere.
everything is clean and that is fair enough.
- Yesenia (10/5): -
- Marguerite (2/5): -
- Juliane (6/5): - Bed was comfortable. Very good coffee in the morning. Special filming location of some th shows. Very less light in the room.
- Gabriel (10/5): The customer service was some of the best I’ve encountered. The stars were beautiful! -
- Petr Adamek (8/5): -
- David (10/5): My stay was exceptional, and I felt right at home and cared for. - It was in the most quiet and scenic location, but not too far away from inner Santa Clarita. My bedroom was clean, and it had the most interesting bathroom architecture. The owner, Troy, was incredibly kind and welcoming. I can tell he takes pride in his motel. He even had coffee and little treats in the morning! I felt comfortable, safe, and happy for my entire stay. This place has history, and I was happy to have stayed here. Not my last time staying here. I have no feedback here!
- Cale (5/5): You sorta get what you paid for but it’s a nice place. - I liked the proximity to my destination and price. The staff are very kind. The property uses physical keys so I was nervous about losing it. The microwave didn’t work and there’s no arm on the door. The TV doesn’t have live stations and instead uses streaming services.
