There are renovations underway, eg the front stairs, but this did not prove to be an inconvenience.

- Eva (9/5): - Lovely home with even lovelier hosts! Walking distance to the hospital. (We were in Winnipeg for a surgery). A couple of good places to eat within walking distance also. Beautiful neighbourhood.
- Pam (10/5): - We recently spent four nights at this lovely property. We loved everything about it. Our room was very clean and comfortable, breakfasts were really healthy with a nice variety of fresh fruit, the huge back deck was a great place to eat or just enjoy, we could walk to The Forks and The Canadian Museum for Human Rights… But I think perhaps the very best thing is the host Vahid and his wife Marcia. Vahid’s warm morning greeting and his made to order coffee was a great way to start the day. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

The property is so big, lots of things to do, by the river, and the area is great. You can walk to different restaurants. I’m gonna go back! - The place is exceptionally beautiful, vintage, comfortable, well-decorated, kept well, and outstanding in any way. Vahid and Marcia were absolutely kind and helpful. They were like family to me in my short stay and helped me in any way they could. Their gentleman dog, Chief was very polite and trained to approach you as you please. Believe me, I wasnt even used to dogs before this. The breakfast was diverse, tasty and healthy, consisting of proteins, fresh fruits, variety of organic (no added sugar) jams, and some pastery. You also have coffee and drinks provided to enjoy at all times. I’m defenitely gonna miss everything about my stay and look forward to going back again. I surprisingly liked everything about it and I already went in with high expectations.

Staying in this 120 year old house was a delightful experience, just hope we didn’t disturb others with our frequent trips up and down the squeaky stairs! It wasn’t possible to watch the NBA playoffs on the TV in the room. Also, I am not a fan of lavender-scented sheets and towels.

Its clear that Vahid loves what he does and is truly focused on making it a great experience. I definitely felt welcome. First impressions were not great - the lawn was uncut and paint peeling from the front porch. My room was spacious but there was a weird odor - I'm not sure if it was the wildfires - and the carpet although vacuumed looked stained. I sat in one of the front rooms (front sun room) and part of the ceiling was falling apart. It wasn't a good look.

- Deborah (10/5): Grand Place to Stay Near Downtown Winnipeg - Vahid, the owner, was welcoming and helpful both in messages before our arrival and throughout our stay. Our room was large and comfortable - the whole property comfortable and tastefully appointed from the living and dining rooms and the second floor bar room. The continental breakfast was plentiful with many options. Not about the property and we were disappointed that the path along the neighboring Assiniboine River was not thr good/nice place we hoped it would be.

- Gail (10/5): Beautiful house - Beautiful period house. Just our style. Leaded glass, high ceilings, wood paneling...sigh. So beautiful. Renovations are being done outside, and this just added to the "WOW" factor, picturing what it will all look like. Marcia was great to chat with over coffee outside, overlooking the Assiniboine River, talking about the updates to come. We had a large room, the bathroom had heated floors and walk-in shower ( good for older folks like us), and a comfortable bed. No complaints. On the second floor is a common area with comfortable sofs and chairs, a coffee bar, and board games to play. We weren't able to take advantage of this space due to our schedule this visit. Otherwise, we definitely would have spent time relaxing there. Vahid was very helpful during check-in and at breakfast, helping make the coffees and showing us what was available in the kitchen. Continental breakfast is offered with lots of options. There are also several really good breakfast spots a 5 minute walk away if you would like something more substantial. We needed to iron some clothes, and they offered both iron or clothes steamer options, which you don't normally see. We are already planning to book again next time we are in Winnipeg. Parking is a bit tricky due to some renovations, BUT this is temporary, and Vahid was super helpful directing us, and once we had 'our spot,' it was ours for the duration of the stay.

My suite was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. I loved having a big bath tub to soak in at the end of the day. I would love to return if I’m in Winnipeg again.

We would highly recommend. - A huge old house that the owners have created little modern bedroom/bathroom units while still maintaining the feel of the older home. Be aware that there are lots of stairs. Our host carried our bags to our room which was a lovely gesture. Breakfast every morning was great with plenty of options. It also presented a chance to talk with other guests.

Die Lage des Hauses ist sicher und sehr ruhig. Es ist extrem sauber und mit Allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich. Der Hausherr serviert sogar den Kaffee. Es gibt Nichts was Mir nicht gefallen hat.

Everything was fresh and clean. Really good coffee. A small thing, but we couldn't access more local tv channels. There was all the streaming services, but you needed your own logins. The house is a gorgeous old home with beautiful woodwork and furnishings. The location is perfect for exploring the city and we enjoyed the restaurants within walking distance of the home. Our room was large, perfectly clean, quiet, and the bed was super comfy. The included breakfast was great - a large selection of drinks, cereal, breads, croissant, eggs, fruit, yogurts, etc. And the hosts could not be any kinder or more welcoming. And we loved the friendly dog! Definitely recommend and will stay again when we return to Winnipeg! The hot water to the shower was having problems, but the owner quickly called a plumber to fix the issue.

- Hilmar (10/5): - Großes Zimmer und sehr bequemes Bett. Ruhige Lage am Fluss. Abholung vom Flughafen in der Nacht. Gutes Frühstück. Sehr netter entspannter Hund 🐕.
- Nilson (10/5): - I loved my stay with Vahid and Marcia. The place is fantastic and looks like a movie set and both Vahid and Marcia are very attentive and always ready to help you with everything. I highly recommend this wonderful place that made my stay even better and great memories, I simply loved it.

- Kee Seop (10/5): Dreamy stay at No. 5 East - Historic and romantic mansion with a chic but cozy feel. Everything about our room, our breakfasts and the amenities felt flawlessly executed. The hosts were warm and accommodating. We are hoping to return during our next visit to Winnipeg! House would benefit from an exterior paint job and regrouting of the bathroom.

- Michelle (10/5): Best Getaway - Best Airbnb/Hotel we’ve stayed in. The owners are so attentive and are very friendly and make you feel like you’re at home. The location of this place is very convenient because everything is less then 20 mins away. No complaints. We will be staying here again!
